Polls: Trump Still Leads in IA and NH, But Loses Ground

Donald Trump remains ahead in the early Republican nominating contests of Iowa and New Hampshire, but his lead has shrunk from a month ago, according to brand-new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist polls of these two states.

The polls were conducted Sept. 23-30 - so after the second Republican presidential debate, as well as after Scott Walker's withdrawal from the GOP field.

In New Hampshire, Trump now holds a five-point advantage over Carly Fiorina among GOP primary voters, 21 percent to 16 percent - followed by Jeb Bush in third at 11 percent, and Marco Rubio and Ben Carson tied at 10 percent each.

But a month ago, Trump's lead over the nearest competition in the Granite State (John Kasich) was 16 points, 28 percent to 12 percent.

And in Iowa, Trump is ahead of Carson by five points among potential GOP caucus-goers, 24 percent to 19 percent - with Fiorina in third at 8 percent, Bush at 7 percent, and Ted Cruz, Rubio and Bobby Jindal tied at 6 percent.

A month ago, Trump's lead over Carson in Iowa was seven points in the same poll, 29 percent to 22 percent.

Meanwhile, in the Democratic race, Hillary Clinton maintains her lead in Iowa, and Bernie Sanders is still ahead in New Hampshire.

In Iowa, she gets support from 47 percent of Iowa caucus-goers, while Sanders gets 36 percent and Martin O'Malley gets 4 percent.

That's essentially unchanged from a month ago, when the poll showed Clinton ahead of Sanders by an identical 11 points, 48 percent to 37 percent.

But Clinton's lead shrinks to five points when Vice President Joe Biden is added to the field - Clinton at 33 percent, Sanders at 28 percent and Biden at 22 percent.

And in New Hampshire, Sanders leads Clinton by nine points, 48 percent to 39 percent. That's essentially unchanged from a month ago, when Sanders was ahead 49 percent to 38 percent.

Yet once again, Clinton loses ground when Biden is added to the contest - Sanders sits at 42 percent, Clinton at 28 percent and Biden at 18 percent.

The NBC/WSJ/Marist polls were conducted Sept. 23-30. In Iowa, 431 potential GOP caucus-goers were interviewed (margin of error plus-minus 4.7 percentage points), as well as 348 Democratic caucus-goers (plus-minus 5.3 percentage points. In New Hampshire, 450 potential GOP primary voters were interviewed (margin of error plus-minus 4.6 percentage points), as well as 404 Democratic voters (plus-minus 4.)

Why would Carly Fiorina be second in New Hampshire with 16% of the vote?

Is it because she lied in the debate about a doctored and phony video about Planned Parenthood and an aborted fetus that wasn't an aborted fetus, but a video of a stillborn from a miscarriage from a hospital, and misrepresented as a live aborted fetus at a Planned Parenthood clinic awaiting parts harvesting? BINGO!

There's nothing any worse than costing America our ONE SHOT to be great again with some Republicans voting for candidates because of opinions based on religion, lies, fraud and/or false debate rhetoric over a girl or woman's natural, God-given, legal, constitutional right to terminate an unwanted pregnancy.

And why is Carson polling at 19% in Iowa? This is unbelievable. Carson is a nice guy with a few good points, but he's pro-illegal alien, doesn't want to deport illegal aliens, wants to give them guest worker permits which is amnesty.

Fiorina supports free trade treason and the Dream ACT.

Carson supports illegal immigration.

Why are these two candidates still in the race, let alone in the number 2 spots in New Hampshire and Iowa?!

I think either the polls are rigged or around 20% of those polled are voting their religious beliefs instead of what's best for our country and citizens. If this is the case, this is a dangerous development in our political system.

Do Republicans know that in all the glory that Ben Carson claims for himself for the conjoined twins surgery, that there was a team of 70 surgeons involved in that surgery? That's right. There were 69 other surgeons and medical professionals involved in that surgery. What are their names? Where is their movie? Isn't it strange that not once does he ever mention them? He never mentions them. No one ever mentions them.

This is not to take anything away from Carson and his medical achievements, it's just a question about his "me, me" and why Republicans are so enamored with Carson when he supports illegal immigration with guest worker amnesty for illegal aliens, who doesn't think removing illegal aliens is "practical", who wants to tax poor people 10% of their gross income (tithe based on the Bible) plus Social Security payroll tax which together is almost 18%, when they can't afford to pay their utility bill, put food on the table or keep a car going to get to work?

The reason he gives is "pride" to have "skin in the game". Honestly? Most of these people are on food stamps (pride?), free school lunch (skin in the game?), Medicaid, WIC, TANF and on and on and on. And they STILL can't make ends meet because of the lack of jobs and low wage problem.

Anyone who feels that paying income tax is a "pride" issue, needs their head examined. Income tax was forbidden by our Constitution which was amended by Globalist DemoQuacks in 1913 against vehement Republican opposition to cover the revenue losses created by passing their free trade movement to reduce tariffs, increase imports and cost Americans their jobs.

There is no "pride" whatsoever in paying income taxes, only disgust that Globalist DemoQuacks would burden our nation with such a Constitutional sin as an authoritarian, mandated, socialist Marxist notion derived from the feudal lord system would ever become the bedrock of how we fund the largest government of the free world.

Paying income taxes isn't having "skin in the game", it's having your blood sucked out of you by a treasonous government that sold its soul 102 years ago to the Devils of Free Trade Treason.

My advice to all Republicans is to do some homework and acquaint yourselves with the reason we have a Republican Party, because it looks like, sounds like, walks like we're in a generation that never knew what the Republican Party stands for or why it exists, which is why we have polls that rank Carson and Fiorina number 2 in Iowa and New Hampshire when they neither one should even be in the race.

And yes, Donald Trump is supporting the income tax, tweaking it instead of throwing it out and replacing it with the FairTax. And more us need to call his campaign headquarters and explain why we think that is wrong. But at least this good and decent man knows that if you stay with an income tax, you can not and should not try to force blood out of a turnip.

Patriots, this is the bottom line. No RINO amnesty political hacks. Illegal aliens must get their asses out of our country and stay out. We are not going to “compromise” on this. This is a non negotiable demand. The United States is on a downward death spiral. And this election is probably the last marginally “free” election we will have. It probably will be our last chance to peaceful stops the despotism rapidly descending upon us.

We have chosen our candidate and with all of his flaws we have chosen Donald Trump. This is a warning to the faux conservatives and RINOs, if you deny to us our chosen candidate there will be bloody hell to pay. What form that will take is now uncertain. But good, decent, honest, people have a limit to how much abuse they will tolerate before they get very mean. I pray to God there is no violence.

Trump or bust, get on the bandwagon or get out of our way. This is an ultimatum.

Because many people are single issue voters. Abortion is their litmus test issue because they believe killing babies is morally wrong and that God will not be happy with them at the judgement if they ignore this issue.

I wonder how happy they believe God will be with them on Judgement Day when they destroy the United States over a natural God-given right of women to terminate an unwanted pregnancy?

Every species including ours that God created had population control instincts. In Lions that instinct is with the male who kills the cubs. In humans that instinct is with the female, and God even created plants for women to use to abort. God didn't design this beautiful world to have his species and the environment destroyed by the overpopulation of any species, especially ours.

I think these single issue voters may be more connected to a Pastor or Church Leader with Man-Made Agendas, instead of to God. They might want to get rid of the middle man for awhile and see the Light.

People have been voting their religious beliefs for years because they believe that those things ARE what's best for our nation. Many believe that God has removed His blessing from America because we allow our most helpless to be yanked from the womb and killed. Just because you separate abortion from religion doesn't mean that's the only "right" way to look at the issue. I generally avoid the issue of abortion here because I know that it is divisive, but we must be realistic about how most conservatives view it, and complaining that these people shouldn't allow their religion to dictate their vote is a waste of time.
