"Every time they pull me over without a driver’s license, it costs $1,500 to get my car back," said Gilberto.
According to the story he's lost his car three times so it has cost him $4,500.

Gilberto told the audience that last month his children had to decide between a school trip and eating three meals a day for the week.

There I cried with smilies but in reality I have no sympathy for him at all. It was his choice to break laws and when he got caught it was his choice to not take responsibility for his actions.

The illegal aliens should know better than to drive. If he had let that sink in the first time he could have paid for family food. I doubt someone with his attitude has any financial foundation in Mexico. If he is deported he will have nothing there to go back to. That is his poor planning and not our fault. The Socialists only see him as a potential supporter and their ends justifies his means to be here.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

These checkpoints are first and foremost a way of ridding the city of its poor and immigrant populations.

There they go again, using that old cliche...immigrant. First and foremost, if you are a legal immigrant and if you drive you must have a drivers license and insurance. We all do. This is the law. Second, if you are illegally in the U.S., you have already broken one law and you have no right to drive a vehicle on the same roads as others who have obeyed the law. Your whining is just another example of your twisted sense of entitlement. Your time is coming, ICE will eventually catch up to you and you will receive just punishment for breaking the law and exploiting the citizens, healthcare and educational systems of another country. You will be fined, imprisoned and eventually deported...as you should.
...I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid...

They don't have these kinds of checkpoints in their corrupt lawless countries, and that is why they are SHOCKED at our display of law and order. They want to change our country into the same lawless countries they fled from. Sheer stupidity!!

Pomona residents march against racist checkpoints
Did they follow the law and get a permit for this march?

Sobriety checkpoints are not racist, they target intoxicated drivers.
Road safety seems to be of no concern to these marchers.

During the last 18 months, the Pomona Police Department had impounded his 1989 Chevy Malibu three times because Gilberto, like many who live in the low-income city about 30 miles east of Los Angeles, does not have a driver’s license.
Impounded cars should only be released to licensed drivers.
Was he caught in traffic checks only or also for traffic violations? His car should not be impounded, it should be seized under forfeiture laws....3 strikes and you are out.

The checkpoints are thoroughly racist and anti-immigrant. They target undocumented workers who are forced to drive without a license because of their legal status in the country.
They target drunk drivers. FORCED TO DRIVE WITHOUT A LICENSE because of their ILLEGAL NOT LEGAL status--no one is holding a gun to their head FORCING them to drive, it's a conscious decision to violate the law.
How do illegal aliens register vehicles and get plates?

Many city residents at the protest expressed similar sentiments, saying the so-called sobriety checkpoints are death traps for hard-working immigrants. After paying hundreds of dollars in fines and impound fees, there is often little left for gas, food or rent.
DEATH TRAPS......get real. Sobriety checkpoints target drunk drivers, who if allowed on the road, may very well make some innocent victim's vehicle a death trap.

The Coalition was started after residents witnessed what some called the granddaddy of all checkpoints
Drinking occurs at Cinco de Mayo events--pretty simple.

Carlos, a friendly elementary school student who rode his bicycle along the march route, said the checkpoints frightened him and his family. He said his mother would begin to cry as their van approached the officers. "They only do it against Mexicans because they don’t like us," Carlos said. "It’s not fair because they only do it to us because they take away all of our money."
Guilt induces fear, not a checkpoint. Police don't shake these people down and rob them of their money. Fines are legal punishments for violating the law.

Parents and children, sick and elderly, citizens and non-residents kept militant chants up for hours.
How dramatic. Hopefully none of the ill who left their sick beds were suffering from diarrhea and vomiting.

The Party for Socialism and Liberation handed out signs calling for an immediate end to the racist checkpoints and ICE raids in the city. As a member group of the ANSWER Coalition, a mainstay at immigrant rights marches and anti-racist rallies, we were warmly received as we marched.
Is that not inciting rebellion and civil disobedience against our government?

Many in the crowd were appreciative of the demands for unconditional amnesty, an immediate end to raids and deportations, free access to quality health care and education, and a minimum $15 per hour wage for all workers regardless of their immigration status.
They want III--Illegal immigrant immunity--and a welfare state.

Gilberto told the audience that last month his children had to decide between a school trip and eating three meals a day for the week.
Do his children, and by the way how many, get free breakfast and lunches at school?
Gilberto would have had $4500 for the school trip but he made the decision to drive without a license and had his car impounded 3 times in 18 months.

An undocumented worker, he is constantly fearful of being harassed by the authorities.

"Every time they pull me over without a driver’s license, it costs $1,500 to get my car back," said Gilberto.
Good grief, IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO DRIVE WITH OUT A DRIVERS LICENSE!!! GET A GRIP GILBERTO AND GO BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY and whoever the idiot is that wrote the article needs to go with YOU!!!!!!

    STOP THE INSANITY!!!!!
