    Punish the Voters

    Alipac members,
Recommendation - That we be more vigilant for instances that we suspect amount to punishment for the voters (we who contacted our senators).

Specifically, those in a position to do so (the administration, large corporations, cronies, etc.) could take action through government agencies (ie. relaxing border crossings and who knows what) to punish voters for opposing amnesty.

Paranoid? Hardly. It's already being done in the non-immigrant H-1B arena. Citibank, displeased by voter opposition to H-1B increases, held a mass firing of over 9000 of its employees. Word of this came from one of the large H-1B support websites.

This is that punishment initiative from Citibank. They just fired 9700 US citizens and hired the same number of Tata employees domociled in Bang-Town. This is to punish Americans for failure to support H-1B visa expansion.

If Citibank replaced their 9700 fired American workers with H-1Bs, those who were fired would still be unemployed.

Go home, H-1Bs, you do us no favors by being here.

What part of "We don't owe our jobs to India" are you unable to understand, Senator?

This ties in with the opposition to CIR by the pro-H-1B crowd. While it would have drastically hiked this visa, it would also have placed restrictions and safeguards according to the some of the ammendments. They are confident that an increase for them will be in the works later, because "business is demanding it." So they're celebrating the defeat of Bush's immigration bill along with us, ironically.
