Thread: Question About REAL ID, National ID, Etc.

I am posting this here because IMO illegal immigration has given our government and "excuse" to demand all citizens have a REAL ID or National ID card.

My question is, why do we need such a program? We already have a social security number assigned to EVERY American citizen. Although fraudulent SS numbers are given for employment, wouldn't it be easier, cheaper, and less invasive to privacy to just update the Social Security card system? For example, each of us already has a SS number. Why not create a national database that employers can use to check the numbers? It wouldn't have to contain all sorts of personal information, like the REAL ID. If they can just match the SS number to ONE person and one person only, that's all they really need to verify that the person is a US citizen.

Any thoughts?

That makes absolutely COMMON sense, it is a GREAT idea and would be simple. Unfortunately, common sense is lacking in our government. They appear to want to control everything and make things more complicated so the American citizen will not understand all the deceit. It is too bad they will not listen to our ideas and to what we want.

What is wrong with barometric ID for IMMIGRANTS ONLY. Once a citizen, it would have to be turned into the judge the day they swore in as a new citizen.

The people that want all Americans in the biometric web are using the selling point of putting immigrants into the system to get their foot in the door.

They want EVERY AMERICAN in the system and this tracking system is setup across America already.

The cameras scan your face and track your movements 2-300 times per day when you walk past a camera in the system.
