and he did say these numbers are the Reps home phone numbers because they have no office in the capitol and have no staff either

Subject: in state tuition for illegals

First of all let me make this clear, Federal laws enacted in 1996 prohibit any in state tuition for illegal aliens or children of illegals.
why is the state of arkansas trying to undermine federal law and enact such a bill?
Why are you allowing law breakers to be given special status that people who live across a border, say in texarkana or even memphis can not get?
Where is the relief for those kids who live along the border in a neighboring state but want to attend a school in arkansas because its closer to home?

I have friends who live in Texarkana and want to go to University of Arkansas but because they live less than a mile inside the Texas line they would have to pay out of state tuition. this bill being talked about and debated is NOT FAIR to these American kids,
Therefore, I do not support giving breaks to illegals or their children, no matter how long they have resided in the state of Arkansas or the United States of America.
LAWS ARE LAWS..... illegal is illegal.... YOU CAN NOT enforce only those laws you want to enforce or give special treatment to one group of people while hurting another group.

In state tuition for illegals has just been defeated in CO and NJ by predominantly Democratic legislatures.
New online polls show almost 90% opposition to bills like SB 799!

We have killed the bill before and I certainly hope we can do it again. She has to get 5 more votes to pass it and time is running out. I will continue to do all I can to defeat this bill. Senator Jerry Taylor

SB799 in Arkansas was sent back to the Interim Committee for Education, which means it has been defeated for 2009. Good news, certainly.

There is little doubt it will return next session as Joyce Elliott seems to have been emboldened by the support this bill has received from some in the business community and from Arkansas Friendship Coalition(among others).

Yeah they keep thinking that if they keep trying it is going to be pushed through, they under estimate the American people, they are just making us more POed!
