Does anybody know if it would be possible to arrest and try the congress critters for treason? The laws on the books have NOT been enforced despite many injuries since the laws were passed and placed on the books. Should not the politicians responsible for seeing that laws are funded for, and enforced be tried and sent to prison for treason. Should the old laws concerning treason and the appropriate punishment not be re-visited and brought back? How long would it take to get serious after a dozen or two politician (traitors) faced the hangman's noose for treason?

Quote: "Encouraging and Harboring Illegal Aliens
It is a violation of law for any person to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection in any place, including any building or means of transportation, any alien who is in the United States in violation of law. HARBORING MEANS ANY CONDUCT THAT TENDS TO SUBSTANTIALLY FACILITATE AN ALIEN TO REMAIN IN THE U.S. ILLEGALLY. The sheltering need not be clandestine, and harboring covers aliens arrested outdoors, as well as in a building. This provision includes harboring an alien who entered the U.S. legally but has since lost his legal status."

If they would have added the word "or business" after person then that would make many landlords/apartment building owners who have many illegal aliens living there and they absolutely know they are illegal. This is very much the norm on the west side of Phoenix in the section known as Maryvale.

As it stands now it not not illegal to rent and apartment to a person you have reason to believe is an illegal alien, including even if they tell you they are an illegal alien. Many apartment communities in West Phoenix will knowingly rent to an illegal alien as they don't care about a persons legal status and because there is no law that prevents them from doing so.

How can we make it uncomfortable for an illegal alien to stay
if we don't remove the things they need to remain in the US?

As for the changes in the 287/G program since Obama took over it is obvious to most if not all local law enforcement agencies that the Obama administration does not want this program and thus the stripping of its value to local police.

Granting authority to police to arrest a subject for a felony? Under State laws Police already have this authority to arrest for felonies committed in their presence or if they have reasonable belief a felony has been committed and the person before them is believed to have committed it.

Are they referring to federal felonies for immigration violations that are felonies such as re-entering the country after deportation? If so, how are they able to determine that unless they make contact with the person and inquire into their immigration status and determine that they are currently in the country illegally and since they don't have access to ICE databases at the street level they would have no way of knowing the person is committing a federal felony.

Here's the bottom line, all this back and forth about Federal authority versus State authority can be very simply fixed once and for all by amending the Federal laws and incorporating States rights to enforce any or all portions of immigration laws as it relates to illegal aliens.

To have it clearly spelled out that the States have these rights. I don't know what makes the Federal government think they have an exclusive domain to immigration laws when each state has an exclusive sovereign right to enact criminal laws they deem necesaary to the good of their respective state and their states citizens.

Lets talk about enforcement (mad laughter)... They can pass as many laws as there are illegal aliens -- 23 million now I think -- and it won't matter as long as there is no enforcement. That is the problem, we have become a lawless nation. Laws we have yes, but they are so many and so selectively enforced. For instance, it has become common for Congress and Presidents to exempt themselves from following the laws of the land. In San Francisco the biggest law breakers are government workers -- police who block fire hydrants while they chow down on burritos a mile long, government vehicles that run red lights and turn at no left turn signs. Even in the latest economic collapse there were laws in place that were simply ignored with a wink and a nod toward Tycoons...so how can we have "border" enforcement?

To me the very best example is Obama's appointment of Alan D. Bersin as commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security. Bersin, in charge of our BORDER PROTECTION which Obama wants to beef up (laugh) has hired 10 illegal aliens to be his domestics over the past 19 years. He currently has 6 illegal aliens working for him -- 3 he says as "subcontractors." Of course, like Giethner, Bersin forgot to file tax paperwork on all these undocumented workers. Oh yeh he will really make sure that our border is secure won't he?

By the way, all the appointments with "tax evasion" problems who failed to get through or did get through like Tim Giethner, were caught with illegal aliens working for them and no taxes paid. Imagine a real investigation of Congress and its members use of illegal aliens and you would probably find 100% of them hired illegals knowingly.

This is the main problem -- the United States is lawless because we have many laws dejure but all enforcement is selective defacto with our plutocracy exempting itself from all laws -- above the law they are.
Suppose you were an idiot and suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.
