Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) has recently become the point man for the latest version of a so-called 'comprehensive immigration reform' bill (i.e. amnesty). He has joined with longtime Republican amnesty zealots such as Sen. Lindsey Graham as well as the grandfather of amnesty legislation, Sen. John McCain.

However, until recently, Rubio was not only opposed to any new form of amnesty, he was speaking out publicly on why it would be a disaster for this country.

At a campaign stop in 2009, Rubio explained the lessons learned from the first amnesty...

In 1986 Ronald Reagan granted amnesty to 3 million people. You know what happened, in addition to becoming 11 million a decade later? There were people trying to enter the country legally, who had done the paperwork, who were here legally, who were going through the process, who claimed, all of a sudden, 'No, no no no , I'm illegal.' Because it was easier to do the amnesty program than it was to do the legal process.

If you grant amnesty, the message that you're sending is that if you come in this country and stay here long enough, we will let you stay. And no one will ever come through the legal process if you do that.

    Now, fast forward to 2013...

On Jan. 28, Rubio appeared on the Fox News Network's Sean Hannity Show, and explained his 'evolving attitude' on the subject of amnesty, saying:

So we have 11 million people that are undocumented, and we understand that we have to deal with this issue because we have 11 million people that by all accounts are going to be here the rest of their lives with or without documents.

Rubio has even adopted the language of the left, no longer referring to those whose first act in this country is a crime as "illegal," but as "undocumented."

    So, what happened?

Has this popular young Senator with such a seemingly bright political future simply fallen for the misguided belief held by many Republicans that in order to win the "Hispanic vote," they must offer amnesty to illegal aliens?

Or, is there more to this transformation?

    In January 2012, Breitbart.com reported:

A giant TV network has effectively admitted to blackmailing Florida's GOP Sen. Marco Rubio over his immigration stance. It's Exhibit A of the kind of sludge being hurled at Latino leaders who won't toe the open-borders line.

Bigfoot Spanish-language television network Univision unwittingly revealed it's got a mafia-style hit-equivalent out there waiting for any conservative leader of Hispanic descent who won't tout their open-borders line on immigration.

So much for reporting the news. Univision's top honchos behind this are all about politics — and are running their news organization like a cult mafia leader wielding power based on groupthink and fear.

Last October, the Miami Herald broke news that Univision executive Isaac Lee threatened to make public a story about the arrest of Rubio's brother-in-law 24 years ago — that is, unless, in an offer he couldn't refuse, Rubio agreed to go on Univision's Jorge Ramos show, presumably to be savaged by the TV host, known as a loud advocate of open borders.

Univision's owner, Egyptian-born billionaire, Haim Saban is a huge supporter of the Democrat Party and gave at least $1 million to Obama's super PACS during this past election season.

When a network executive publicly admits to blackmailing a U.S. senator over decade's old information about an in-law for a simple interview...you can bet that's only the tip of the iceberg.

Of course, this but of information was completely ignored by the mainstream press.

I believe Rubio is simply an opportunist who after joining the Senate became a protégé of rinos who convinced him the path to the presidency is with immigration while they may gain a few votes I believe they will lose as many or more from the base.

If a deal happens the Democrat party will be seen as the party who made it happen, the media will see to that.

Amnesty is a loss for the GOP,taxpayers and the country.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.
