Robb spot on on Napolitano

Right on, Robert Robb.

Thanks to The Republic commentator for an insightful column about Gov. Janet Napolitano and the way she ramrods her policies into law without any concern for the majority of the general public or the Legislature ("Napolitano oversteps powers of a governor," Opinions, May 30).

Her my-way-or-no-way system of governing is typical of a dictator and has no place in our democratic society, which, the last I heard, is of and by the people.

The vast majority of voters would never have extended domestic-partner benefits to state workers when we are making drastic cuts to bring the budget into balance. Taking away Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's funds for fighting illegal immigration to placate Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon and Maricopa County Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox is in direct conflict with the will of the people.

Obviously Napolitano is trying to make a name for herself on a national level by endorsing Barack Obama early on in hopes of being named his running mate, or at least to have some post in his administration.

Let's wake up, Arizona, and not allow her to get away with these tactics. - Dorothy Butler,Peoria
