Russia Has What America Needs – A Strong Capable Leader

First of all, let me say I am no fan of Vladimir Putin’s politics per se. The impression from the outside looking in is often very different from the reality of living life under any administration. Many in other countries still believe the “Mesiah” stories about Barack Obama. Having said that, it is clear that class is in session. Professor Putin isproviding some on-the-job training in international politics to a world of what appears to be mostly freshman students. Not only is he commanding the world stage, his stock is soaring at home as well.
While the response of Barack Obama is to put his hands on his hips and stamp his feet, Putin is in his comfort zone. He’s doing what he needs to do, secure in the knowledge of what his opposition will and will not do.
Regardless of one’s opinion of the legitimacy of Putin’s actions or whether he is right or wrong in what he is doing, hero or villain, he does command the respect of other leaders around the globe and has clearly distinguished himself as a force to be reckoned with globally.
That international respect has translated into admiration at home. His Russian constituents see his movements into Crimea and other acts associated with the current situation as being of benefit to them. He is seen as standing up to the EU and the U.S. and representing the people of Russia.
That type of Patriotism, right or wrong, is not the type of thing exhibited by the current occupant of the White House. Party politics in support of an agenda is what we get. I’m not advocating that the U.S. go looking for a fight, we do that already, and the legitimacy of the purported need for conflict is often a difficult case to make.
The security and economic needs of Russia are seen as enhanced by his actions. As a result Putin has increased to a nearly 70 percent approval rating in Russia. Less than twenty percent of Russians say they are opposed to the Crimean policy.
On March 16th, a referendum on Crimean secession from Ukraine has been scheduled and a vote will take place. In the face of weak and largely symbolic opposition to his actions, Putin will likely have officially returned Crimea to Russia before the month is out.
That will pay huge political dividends domestically.
Contrast the Russian man on the street’s opinion of Vladimir Putin with that Americans have for B. Hussein Obama. There are so many disparities between the two it defies comparison, but a couple of things are particularly noteworthy.
Obama has a 38% favorable rating, nearly half that of Putin’s 70%, with his trend heading downward as Putin’s rises. The Russians have what every country wishes to have, a leader they can be proud of, one who capably represents them.
Obama has been a deception or a disappointment, dependent upon what you expected from him since the beginning.
He could have been the guy that he claimed to be, the one who united the country, the one people of all stripes rallied to and supported, but he squandered the opportunity. Even those of us who have been staunch critics of his from the beginning would have gladly eaten our words if Obama had shown himself to be an American working to make a better America.
He had the international stage, the support of a world willing to give him a chance, who bought into his hope and change mantra. He made fools out of those people and in doing so squandered an opportunity at greatness.
Putin may go down in Russia as a great leader, coming off of his success in Syria, the Olympics and now quite possibly Crimea and Ukraine.
It is ironic how the evidence and claims of the two men put the personal beliefs of Putin more in line with traditional American values and Obama’s socialism more closely resembling the former Soviet Union.
The saddest commentary on the leadership disparity between the U.S. and Russia is that at the very least, the Russian president is not working to destroy his own country. Americans can’t make that same claim.
The world today is indeed a very curious place.

There is SO much truth in this simple statement it defies imagination.

First, America no longer exists. At least the America that was capable of knowing the difference between right and wrong, good and bad, night and day, and truth or lies.

Americans have been so brainwashed into believing that if what they see, hear, feel, or smell doesn't come out of Hollywood, Facebook, or Twitter IT DOESN'T EXIST or is not worthy of their time and effort.

The day when America was capable of firstly knowing what a capable leader was, and secondly having the integrity and guts to stand behind them are gone.

    Please prove me wrong.
