Senior Trump Adviser Stephen Miller: Remittances from Illegal Immigration Finance ‘Corruption and Cartels in Mexico’

Stephen Miller, a senior policy advisor for Donald Trump, told Breitbart News Daily host Stephen K. Bannon he was shocked at President Obama’s response to Trump’s proposal to end remittances from illegal aliens back to Mexico as a means of curtailing illegal immigration, as it appeared the president was more concerned with Mexico’s economy than jobs for Americans.

“We’re financing corruption and cartels in Mexico,” Miller said about remittances. “Far from being compassionate, having illegal immigration and an open border finances failed political systems and violent cartels in Mexico that are spreading economic misery there. Until we remove the release valve of illegal immigration from Mexico, they’re not going to be able to get their house in order.”

Obama’s response to the proposal is summarized here:

"The implications with respect to ending remittances, from legal immigrants and from individuals sending money back home to their families, are enormous. First of all, they’re impractical. We just talked about the difficulties of trying to enforce huge outflows of capital. The notion we’re going to track every Western Union of money sent to Mexico—good luck with that.”"

“Then we’ve got the issue of the implications for the Mexican economy,” he continued. “Which in turn, if it’s collapsing, sends more immigrants north because they can’t find jobs back in Mexico.

“Can you imagine the president of any other country saying, well first of all, we can’t touch illegal immigration into our country because other countries need the money?” Miller said.

Miller also chastised the media: “The press corp would shred like if the Italian Prime Minister said that, or if the British Prime Minister said that… On the substance, it is important to remind everybody that we’ve tried the open borders experiment for decades now. It goes without saying that it’s been catastrophic for Americans in terms of crime, cartels, drugs, jobs, wages, strains on public resources — it’s been an unmitigated disaster of almost unimaginable proportions.”

Miller also insisted the Trump campaign is on track to gain the delegates needed to secure the Republican nomination prior to the Cleveland convention.

Breitbart News Daily airs on SiriusXM Patriot 125 weekdays from 6:00AM to 9:00AM EST.

I sure hope so! I was very disappointed in Wisconsin and what they chose to do in the Wisconsin primary. It does not speak well for them. Voting for someone to stop someone else to elect none of the above at a convention is really just low-bred. It's like what you would expect from one of those teenage movies where they crown a homecoming queen only to throw food at her and laugh. It's a mockery of our right to vote and election process. It's a cowardly protest vote. When you compare the damage caused by Club for Growth and their Our Principles PAC that were behind this along with many other PACS to the Bernie Protesters, this Anti-Trump movement is much worse because it's not paid protesters out there showing themselves for what they are, the Anti-Trump Protesters are snakes and reptiles hiding behind false advertising for a deceptive purpose.

Trump really is a Golden Boy by comparison.

The reports of not being able to select Trump are disturbing - machine fixing, data fixing by a microsoft outfit with ties to soros, fraudulent statements in mailings & robo calls all are just un-American & disgusting.

Nothing new - hanging chads got us gw & the second term, all of sudden ohio didn't have a vote count till much later than normal. O had a funded racist .org in Acorn signing people up to vote several times, black panther intimidation at the polls.

Can't they win an election honestly? The super delegate nonsense & faux delegates that drop you on the second round - Unreal. No honor!

Using just the people's vote should be implemented. No districts etc - just let citizens vote. Maybe a hard copy or a dual source for each vote would prevent this sinister manipulation that we are seeing.

Obama what a nit wit we have for president...First off all you would have to do is tax western Union when purchased for foreign countries. You could do the same with money orders that would only be good in the USA and another one taxed for foreign countries...prepaid debit card the same tax or a fee for use in foreign country. How hard would that be to do? Any money being sent out of the country could be taxed when purchased. At least we would be getting something back into our economy. Instead of Mexico having the benefit of untaxed money boosting their economy.

All these good ole boys need to go..one at a time; anyone who is running against someone holding office needs our votes and if they don't work out ...vote them out in 4 years and we can break up these networks of money funding and lobbyist. Keep the good ones and move the ones who have been in there. We will eventually get someone who listens. No one should hold elected office for 8-20 years after this mess. They have to many favors owed and are becoming wealthy at our expense. It has become a money machine for elected officials.

Many of the Mexicans that came to the US illegally have left children behind. The remittances are to their parent(s) who take care of the children or other family members that need money, while the parent(s) are here working in many cases and starting another family. There are no marriages here because they are here illegally. When ignorant politicians talk about breaking up families here for deportation, these women in many cases have already left a family behind in Mexico. It is naive to think otherwise. They shack up here, have a few kids and if it doesn't work out, there is really no law in place to fund the children like "child support". They tend to live near other family members if possible and will shack up again if it doesn't work out. I don't buy into some of these arguments about where the remittance money goes unless the government directly taxes each one. It is also a fact that when illegals are paid here and the money goes back to their country, it is a net outflow of cash from the US ( a negative economic event). This does not pertain to just Mexicans, you can substitute any illegal national here in the US for that scenario. Mexicans were used because of the article, wall and they are the biggest group who has crossed into the US illegally. The Chinese are rising as well.

The real blossom on this rose is to monitor this activity at the remittance store and you will easily find out a lot of information about who is here illegally, where are they getting their money from and where they are living. Hum.....why doesn't the IRS care? Why doesn't anyone in government care?

That's a bunch of bull crap!

The banks are already under very strict Federal reporting laws and are required to 'RECORD & REPORT" every cash transfer from an account
holder including name, address EIN or SS.

This is a fact and I have been through this many times with Wells Fargo, BofA, Regent, Chase, Citibank, US Bank, City National & now just recently
    East/West Bank.

So No Mr President, you already enforce this reporting burden on the banks & invade the privacy of American Citizens.

It is asinine our government does not require the same burden on illegals transferring their ill-gotten gains out of the country!

All you drug Cartels and gang smugglers.......You here that? No need to Launder your drug money..... just send it via wire transfer.
