I think this is a clip from yesterday. But this is great for people who didn't see it. I know I didn't.

It is good for them to repeat their very fine words -

"to say this was about racism is the height of ugliness" said by Senator Vitter

    Ephesians 4:32
    Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

I managed to catch a repeat of that press conference as well as the Democratic one late last night. I transcribed some of the more notable lines from it: There are below.

    6/28 News conference on CSpan2:

    Kennedy:

    (paraphrased here)

Sen Ensign proposed 2 amendments, 1 that dealt with Soc Sec that required Soc Sec Admin checking payments from all family members of IA applying for c-ship. He proposed, retracted, then re-proposed that initial amendment.

    ===============================================

    DeMint:

"I'm glad the American people were listened to..."

"McConnell took the lead [in disagreeing with process] by voting no
    on Cloture"

    Sessions:

repeating comment from Specter: "It's going to be trench warfare".

"Our analysis of it was - it would not work"

"Votes [on cloture] reflected the displeasure with "Clay Pigeon" procedure."

"I was unhappy with Harry Reid's choice to only give me 10 minutes to
speak today". "It's not a fair process, frankly".

    Vitter:

"I want to thank the American people for the great work they did in demanding to be heard on this issue".

"I don't think the message could be more dramatic - it is crystal clear - they want us to start with enforcement both at the border and in the workplace."

"80% of the American people were against this bill"

    Coburn:

"I think we have to demonstrate results".

    Rep. Shadegg:

"I think you did what's right for America".

"I think there are ideas that will work, and I will be proposing some of
    those ideas very soon".
