I agree, we defiinitely seem to be ignoring our moral values, principles, and sense of justice. I fear the so-called "American way" is in danger of extinction. I would suggest that much of the problem is due to the extreme high number of immigrants the country has taken in over the last 10-20 years (foreign born). The number have just been too high for proper assimiliation. Our population has doubled over the last 57 years and much of that growth can be directly attributed to immigration.

I don't know about Biden, but Duncan Hunter was definitely my #1 choice!
Same here MW. I was surprised that Duncan Hunter's campaign never got off the ground. I guess he just didn't have 60-100 million dollars to compete.

He sure would make a damn good VP for McCain. I might actually be able to pull the lever for McAmnesy if that were the case.

I would at this point throw my vote away and pull the lever for Nader.

Is there any feasable way to write in (Tancredo/ or Ron Paul0 at this point? I have legs and can deliver fliers. I'm sure a lot of others out there can too.

A couple of Libertarian activists I spoke with after my debate on illegal aliens a few weeks ago claim that Bob Barr is going to get the LP nod. If that's the case, then I'll be voting for him-presuming, of course, that he's on the New York ballot.

OT, has anyone posted the story about a Colombian women who was coerced into sex in order to obtain a green card?

Biden is a good guy, but he would not have been a strong anti-illegal candidate.

In regard to the Demas..........Maybe Jim Webb (Virginia) or Shuler (the Save ACT Dem from NC---I think NC).

I'm Ron Paul all the way. He is still in the race and hopefully when McCain fails his psychological evaluation, Paul will get the nomination.

    Immigration
We affirm the integrity of the international borders of the United States and the Constitutional authority and duty of the federal government to guard and to protect those borders, including the regulation of the numbers and of the qualifications of immigrants into the country.

Each year approximately one million legal immigrants and almost as many illegal aliens enter the United States. These immigrants - including illegal aliens - have been made eligible for various kinds of public assistance, including housing, education, Social Security, and legal services. This unconstitutional drain on the federal Treasury is having a severe and adverse impact on our economy, increasing the cost of government at federal, state, and local levels, adding to the tax burden, and stressing the fabric of society. The mass importation of people with low standards of living threatens the wage structure of the American worker and the labor balance in our country.

We oppose the abuse of the H-1B and L-1 visa provisions of the immigration act which are displacing American workers with foreign.

We favor a moratorium on immigration to the United States, except in extreme hardship cases or in other individual special circumstances, until the availability of all federal subsidies and assistance be discontinued, and proper security procedures have been instituted to protect against terrorist infiltration.

We also insist that every individual group and/or private agency which requests the admission of an immigrant to the U.S., on whatever basis, be required to commit legally to provide housing and sustenance for such immigrants, bear full responsibility for the economic independence of the immigrants, and post appropriate bonds to seal such covenants.

The Constitution Party demands that the federal government restore immigration policies based on the practice that potential immigrants will be disqualified from admission to the U.S. if, on the grounds of health, criminality, morals, or financial dependence, they would impose an improper burden on the United States, any state, or any citizen of the United States.

We oppose the provision of welfare subsidies and other taxpayer-supported benefits to illegal aliens, and reject the practice of bestowing U.S. citizenship on children born to illegal alien parents while in this country.

We oppose any extension of amnesty to illegal aliens. We call for the use of U.S. troops to protect the states against invasion.

We oppose bilingual ballots. We insist that those who wish to take part in the electoral process and governance of this nation be required to read and comprehend basic English as a precondition of citizenship. We support English as the official language for all governmental business by the United States.
I will strongly consider voting for the the Constitution Party's nominee for president. I did so in 2004.

I will not consider voting for the Libertarian's Party's candidate. The Libertarian Party essentially believes in unlimited legal immigration. It opposes the enactment of further sanctions against employers that hire illegal aliens.

I have also heard that Barr was negotiating for Paul's endorsement.

I will not stay home. That is perfectly acceptable to the elitists that run the country.

All of us should be out in our neighborhoods, helping get local candidates elected too. Turn out is far higher in an Presidential election year than it is in an off year.

If I may quote Reagan, "There you go again."

I suspect that he won't sign it because it moves to increase government surveillance on the citizens. Paul believes that a government that protects freedom and liberty is the higher priority.

We understand you disagree with him. We however, believe that his plan is better - reduce the size of government welfare, and they'll go home.

In short, the SAVE act increases the size of government and also the scope of their power. We small government types don't like that solution, when there are better ways.

Paul is not going to run, so it is not revelant anyway.

THe Libertarian platform is open borders. I won't support that.

The Constitution Party has some First Amendment issues that trouble me, but I could consider them because I don't think the SCOTUS would uphold any legislation they managed to pass.

If Bob Barr runs, I will probably vote for him.
