I thought it might be helpful (and maybe even fun) to have a thread with ideas for slogans. We can use them in faxes or on signs and bumper stickers. Be sure to follow the board rules for these.

"It's the illegals, stupid"
This is a slogan we can use when people say we are anti-immigrant, racist, nativist, etc.
It harkens back to the slogan "It's the economy, stupid" that helped get Clinton elected in 1992 when there was an economic slowdown/recession.

"BTDT (Been There, Done That)"
This is a slogan that means we want our current laws enforced and that we don't trust Congress to carry out enforcement if S. 1348 passes. There is already a law for fining employers who hire illegals (1986). There is already law to reduce the flow of illegals (1986). Bush signed legislation to build a fence and increase the Border Patrol over half a year ago. It's already against the law to sneak into this country. And so on.

"No means no"
"It's date rape"
"It's state rape"
These were all unveiled today on Peter Boyles' radio show on KHOW in Denver. They refer to the fact that, even though a majority of Americans have said NO to amnesty, S.1348 and the unleashing of Mexican trucks throughout our nation, Bush and Congress have ignored us and are forcing these issues upon us against our will.
The reference to "state rape" refers to the way the proof of identification law for obtaining a Colorado drivers license has been secretly changed behind closed doors (not in effect until August so we are still fighting this). The new rules allow just 1 or 2 unelected and unaccountable people to accept ridiculous forms of ID such as a rental lease or a note from a parent. This means that illegals will be able to vote in Colorado. Peter Boyles says he will be on Lou Dobbs this week (Tuesday, I think).
