I had saved this 1996 Immigration Act in my own personal files, so it isn't complete. However, I tried to find this in Thomas Library and google last night. It appears to be missing. Anyone have it or know where to find it. It's called the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act. if we can't find this, then it has been sabotaged.
    Try this link.

Personally, I think they can -

But, the fact is there are a whole host of state and local laws they can enforce that would make it very uncomfortable and make it less attractive, financially speaking.

All of our traffic laws are being transgressed. Without a valid SS#, you are not supposed to be getting a DL. I suppose legal visa workers, etc., have some leeway - but if you are pretending to be a citizen - you need a valid SS# - in Texas.

So, they are using fraudulent documents to obtain a DL. That's a felony, surely.

They are driving on fake DL. That can get you jail time and your auto impounded.

They are usuing these fake documents to get welfare - food stamps, etc.
That can get your prison time.

They abuse housing and zoning laws - can get you fines, eviction, etc.

Then we come to the DUI's - that could/should mean jail time - especially after the first time.

Why aren't the locals and the states availing themselves of the laws that are there. These are laws that are enforced against everyone - so no fear of being sued or of being tied up in court for 5 years.

Why? The answer - mostly they don't want to do it. They, or their supervisors, are getting too many perks from the employers.
