Tamerlan Tsarnaev got Mass. welfare benefits

Tamerlan Tsarnaev got Mass. welfare benefits

    Wednesday, April 24, 2013

    By:
    Chris Cassidy/Boston Herald

Marathon bombings mastermind Tamerlan Tsarnaev was living on taxpayer-funded state welfare benefits even as he was delving deep into the world of radical anti-American Islamism, the Herald has learned.

State officials confirmed last night that Tsarnaev, slain in a raging gun battle with police last Friday, was receiving benefits along with his wife, Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, and their 3-year-old daughter. The state’s Executive Office of Health and Human Services said those benefits ended in 2012 when the couple stopped meeting income eligibility limits. Russell Tsarnaev’s attorney has claimed Katherine — who had converted to Islam — was working up to 80 hours a week as a home health aide while Tsarnaev stayed at home.

In addition, both of Tsarnaev’s parents received benefits, and accused brother bombers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan were recipients through their parents when they were younger, according to the state.

The news raises questions over whether Tsarnaev financed his radicalization on taxpayer money.

Relatives and news reports have indicated that Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s descent into extremist Islam began around 2008 or 2009, when the ethnic Chechen met a convert identified only as “Misha,” began to become more devout, and sought out jihadist and conspiracy theorist websites, and the rabidly anti-Semitic propaganda tract, “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.”

In 2009, he was quoted in a photo essay as saying, “I don’t have a single American friend, I don’t understand them,” adding that he believed Americans had lost their “values.”

His uncle Ruslan Tsarnaev said it was around that time his nephew gave up drinking and was devoting himself to “God’s business,” while Tamerlan’s mother, now wearing a hijab — an Islamic headscarf — began relating conspiracy theories about the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks to her cosmetology clients that she said her son had told her.

In early 2011, Tamerlan Tsarnaev first came to the attention of the FBI when the Russian FSB intelligence service contacted the U.S. agency to warn that he was suspected of being a dangerous radical and sought information.

“The request stated that it was based on information that he had changed drastically since 2010 as he prepared to leave the United States for travel to the country’s region to join unspecified underground groups.” The FBI reported finding no “terrorism activity.”

In mid-2011, he was being monitored by the FSB, apparently prompting the FBI contact, ahead of his six-month trip home to Dagestan in 2012, where Time magazine reported he is believed to have attended a notorious radical mosque.

The state did not say when the Tsarnaevs began receiving benefits. But Health and Human Services spokesman Alec Loftus said the Tsarnaevs “were not receiving transitional assistance benefits at the time of the incident,” a reference to the marathon bombing that killed three and injured 260.

Loftus declined to specify what kinds of benefits and the amount of benefits the family received.

Their taxpayer-funded status came to light last night after repeated calls and emails to welfare officials from the Herald. They refused to comment throughout the day, but pressure mounted last night when the Herald started asking lawmakers whether the Department of Transitional Assistance should release the information.

Boston Terrorist Tamerlan Tsarnaev and Family Got Welfare Benefits

by John Hill on APRIL 24, 2013

Welfare Terrorist: Tamerlan Tsarnaev stylin’ with
his Mercedes and iPhone – all on the taxpayer’s dime.
‘Aint the U.S. “asylum” system great?
    -
Americans are disgusted with everything to do with the late Chechen Muslim terrorist Tamerlan Tsarnaev. They are enraged by the innocent victims he slaughtered and maimed in Boston last week. They are outraged by how their own government let him slip through their fingers, despite repeated warnings. And now we have the last thing we need :
yet another outrage about the Boston jihad leader: he was on welfare.

That’s right, the Boston Marathon bombings mastermind was living on taxpayer-funded state welfare benefits even as he was delving deep into the world of radical anti-American Islamism, the Boston Herald has learned:

State officials confirmed last night that Tsarnaev, slain in a raging gun battle with police last Friday, was receiving benefits along with his wife, Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, and their 3-year-old daughter. The state’s Executive Office of Health and Human Services said those benefits ended in 2012 when the couple stopped meeting income eligibility limits. Russell Tsarnaev’s attorney has claimed Katherine — who had converted to Islam — was working up to 80 hours a week as a home health aide while Tsarnaev stayed at home.

Terrific, so he let his wife work like a slave so he could stay at home planning mass murder. What a catch you got there, Katherine.

It gets better: both of Tsarnaev’s parents also received benefits, and accused brother bombers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan were recipients through their parents when they were younger, according to the state.

So the entire family of fake asylum seekers sponged off of state and Federal taxpayers, since the moment they got here. And it wasn’t enough for Tsarnaev’s mother, who stole $1,600 in clothes fromLord & Taylor in 2012, and can’t even come to the U.S. to claim her worthless son’s body because she fled shoplifting charges and would be arrested on an outstanding warrant. His uncle is reportedly in foreclosure and owes dozens of creditors a fortune.

All this would be as bad a Obama’s mooching Aunt Zeituni – also a welfare case on public housing – except she isn’t a terrorist. Tamerlan Tsarnaev literally financed his terrorism against Americans on the public dime.

SWA readers know all too well how the Russian FSB intelligence service contacted the FBI on numerous occasions to warn them that Tsarnaev was a dangerous radical, first in 2011 and again in Nov. 2012 after he had visited the radical Islamic region of Dagestan in Russia, been seen with a militant Islamic terrorist responsible for the murders of Russian troops and civilians, and had attended a radical mosque linked to Al Queda. DHS Secretary Napolitano admitted yesterday that DHS was aware of the trip, but neither Homeland Security nor the FBI did anything to increase surveillance on Tsarnaev – until after he had murdered 3 at the Boston Marathon, of course.

All this is disgusting, of course, and makes it all the more imperative that the U.S. immediately suspend its entire asylum and refugee process until an entire top-to-bottom review of our security procedures can be conducted. In addition, all visas to potentially dangerous foreign nationals must be halted.

The problem is: the ‘Gang of Eight’ amnesty bill for illegal aliens actually INCREASES visas to terror-sponsoring regions such as Chechnya, Libyans and Syrians – nearly DOUBLING them. This is insanity, and another reason why the bill must be stopped cold.

WHOA!… Zubeidat Tsarnaeva Tells CNN: “I Don’t Care if My Youngest Son Is Killed. I Don’t Care If I Am Killed. I Will Say Allahu Akbar!” (Video)

Posted by Jim Hoft on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, 12:09 AM

    Whoa!

Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, the mother of Boston Marathon bombers Tamerlan and Tzhokhar Tsarnaevso, made these shocking statements on CNN tonight:

“If they are going to kill him. I don’t care. My oldest son is killed, so I don’t care. I don’t care if my youngest son is going to be killed today. I want the world to hear this. And, I don’t care if I am going to get killed too. And I will say Allahu Akbar!

Are we all clear on that motive now?

Muslim Preacher Tells Followers Getting Welfare Cash For Holy Wars Is Easy And Right [video]

    Robert Johnson | Feb. 18, 2013,

A Muslim preacher has been secretly recorded explaining to followers how to receive government assistance they can use to fund a Muslim holy war.Calling it a "Jihadi Allowance," cleric Anjem Choundary, 45, has four kids, brings in £25,000, or just under $39,000 U.S. in benefits himself, and says that this is the way it is supposed to work according to Islamic law.
Recorded by both the U.K. Sun and Telegraph, Choundary says:

    • "We are on Jihad Seekers Allowance, we take the Jizya (protection money paid to Muslims by non-Muslims) which is ours anyway.
    • "The normal situation is to take money from the [non-Muslims] isn't it? So this is the normal situation."
    • “They give us the money. You work, give us the money. Allah Akbar, we take the money. Hopefully there is no one from the DSS (Department of Social Security) listening.”
    • Ah, but you see people will say you are not working. But the normal situation is for you to take money from the Kuffar (non-Muslim) So we take Jihad Seeker’s Allowance.”

Choudray goes on in a separate videos to mock English workers performing 9 to 5 jobs, and tells followers that some of the most famous Islamic figures worked only one or two days a week.

“The rest of the year they were busy with jihad [holy war] and things like that,” he says, according to The Telegraph. “People will say, ‘Ah, but you are not working.’"

“But the normal situation is for you to take money from the kuffar [non-believers].”

“So we take Jihad Seeker’s Allowance. You need to get support.”

He the tells a crowd of about 30 followers: “We are going to take England — the Muslims are coming.”

“These people are like a tsunami going across Europe. And over here we’re just relaxing, taking over Bradford brother. The reality is changing.” Read more at The Telegraph or watch below.

Patrick administration refuses to release Tsarnaev brothers' records

    Thursday, April 25, 2013

    By:

Chris Cassidy, Laurel J. Sweet, Dave Wedge, Erin Smith and Richard Weir

The Patrick administration clamped down the lid yesterday on Herald requests for details of Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s government benefits, citing the dead terror mastermind’s right to privacy.

Across the board, state agencies flatly refused to provide information about the taxpayer-funded lifestyle for the 26-year-old man and his brother and accused accomplice Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19.

On EBT card status or spending, state welfare spokesman Alec Loftus would only say Tamerlan Tsarnaev, his wife and 3-year-old daughter received benefits that ended in 2012. He declined further comment.

On unemployment compensation, labor department spokesman Kevin Franck refused to say whether Tamerlan Tsarnaev ever collected, saying it was “confidential and not a matter of public record.”

On Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s college aid, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth spokesman Robert Connolly said, “It is our position — and I believe the accepted position in higher education — that student records including academic records and financial records (including financial aid) cannot under federal law be released without a student’s consent.”

On cellphones, the Federal Communications Commission would not say whether either brother had a government-paid cellphone, also citing privacy laws.

On housing, Cambridge officials and the family’s landlord ducked questions on whether the brothers were ever on Section 8 assistance.

The Herald reported yesterday that Tamerlan Tsarnaev, his wife and 3-year-old daughter collected welfare until 2012 and that both Tamerlan and Dzhokhar received benefits through their parents “for a limited portion” of the time after they came to the U.S., which was around 2002.

However, the Department of Transitional Assistance wouldn’t release information about how long or how much they received.
It remains unclear how the accused bomber brothers financed their heartless attacks on the marathon.

The administration was slammed by a Democratic congressman who insisted the public has a right to know how taxpayers were underwriting the accused jihadist Tsarnaevs.

“It’s certainly relevant information that should be made public,” U.S. Rep. Stephen F. Lynch told the Herald. “There’s a national security interest No. 1. Secondly, there’s also a public interest in finding out whether these individuals were able to exploit the system and get benefits they weren’t entitled to.”

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev lies hospitalized and facing capital charges that include using a weapon of mass destruction that killed three people and injured 260 near the Boston Marathon finish line.

Taxpayers — already on the hook for Tsarnaev’s court-appointed attorneys in the terror plot — continue to pay his mounting medical bills at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

The public also paid for Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s attorney when the Russian national successfully fought criminal charges in 2009 that he battered a former girlfriend.
