Is it Treason? Homeland Security issued a visa to a man on the terrorist watch list that would be consider an "enemy combatant" during a time of war.

Is it Treason or do you think that word goes to far?

Well, here's the definition of treason according to the Constitution:

To avoid the abuses of the English law (including executions by Henry VIII of those who criticized his repeated marriages), treason was specifically defined in the United States Constitution, the only crime so defined. Article III Section 3 delineates treason as follows:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.




The definition of traitor:

1 : one who betrays another's trust or is false to an obligation or duty
2 : one who commits treason




So, do we consider the allowance of that Nigerian jihadist.....or any other such individual which might qualify as an enemy combatant.....to enter this country an act of betraying the trust of the nation, or is acting falsely in an obligation or duty to protect this country and it's citizens....to be treason?

I'd think so.

Unfortunately, it seems that treason has now become identified as not treason at all but "political correctness"

It was either treason or incompetence. Calling it treason is giving them credit for having brains.....which I am not so sure they have.

Yeah its Treason. Everything they are doing to us is Treason because it all hurts us as a nation. the only reason they are doing it is because it furthers their globalist agenda...

If left is right, and right is left, then treason is patriotic.

Using this simple logic, we have many patriots in government!

Adhering to their enemies and giving aid and comfort is starting to sound about right--although this may have been sheer sloth on behalf of giving this punk a visa without checking extensively. Polite and respectful kid, as he has been according to reports in news these days, so sweetie should be given a visa.
War can also be defined as a sustained campaign in modern-day lingo, like the war on poverty, etc. It needs not necessarily mean armed conflict, according to Oxford Dictionary.
Definitely, there is a sustained campaign to aid and give comfort to those with ill wishes against this country.

This statement would have the founding fathers turning over in their graves, IMO they most certainly would say it is treason.

This all is another one of Napolitano's "man- (or woman-) caused disasters.
Does no one in this administration have the oats to admit they screwed up? Or perhaps their vision of the the U.S. as part of a global world with no boundaries forbids them.

You know I think all this "incompetence" is part of a larger agenda. And the agenda is in the corruption of our own government. It is sad to say that but the more I research the more it seems that way.

If we are still in a state of war, then it is treason, or the act of doing it is treasonous toward the United States and citizens they are repsonsible to protect from harm from any and all invaders.

Maybe they thought he was just another illegal alien wanting a better life.
