Discussion seems to claim that she just wasn't alert to the flags on the email indicating they were classified.

If the email originated in other intelligence agencies, how did it get there? Her server must have been communicating with government servers. How was she able to do that?

If she did that by accident, then we have more problems with our security establishment than just Clinton. And if she broke in deliberately, she is in serious, serious trouble.
It means someone from intelligence agencies sent her email messages either directly to her private email, they were forwarded to her private email by someone who received the email from the intelligence agencies or she or Huma forwarded those emails to her private email.

"... intelligence agencies sent her email ... directly to her private email [server]" If this is true, then the intelligence agencies who sent her the email are responsible along with the network administrators that should have put the necessary settings in place to make this impossible. It should be impossible for an intelligence agency to send emails outside the government networks. That includes forwarding email.

To me the smoking gun is some direct connection between her server and the government servers. The violation of conducting government business on a private email service is pretty soft. Not Watergate territory. Receiving classified information is also pretty soft. To what extent is anyone responsible for the emails that show up on their service?

It all requires a major investigation. Hopefully that is underway now and the outcome will be Justice where it is needed and better procedures to ensure our secrets, strategic business and classified information are protected. That starts in my opinion with electing honest, responsible and competent people.
