Donald Trump on Tuesday named Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) when asked about his possible running mate in 2016.
“Ted Cruz is now agreeing with me 100 percent,” he said when asked about his vice presidential pick, according to Lifezette.

“Well, I like him,” Trump told radio host Laura Ingraham during her broadcast. "He’s backed everything I’ve said.”Unlike most of the Republican presidential hopefuls, Cruz has mostly refrained from attacking Trump, even appearing alongside him at a rally in September against the Iran nuclear deal.
The pair has also struck similar tones on topics such as border security and illegal immigration.
Still, Trump suggested late Monday that he will turn on Cruz if he becomes a threat to his front-runner status.
“If he catches on, I guess we’ll have to go to war,” he told host Joe Kernen on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”
Cruz and Trump are also on the same page in opposing President Obama's plan to resettle 10,000 Syrian refugees in the U.S. Trump on Tuesday said Germany's decision to accept the refugees is going to "destroy" that country.
“Look what [Angela] Merkel has done in Germany,” he said, citing the German chancellor’s resettlement plan for as many as 800,000 Syrians.

“Taking these people is absolute insanity,” Trump added. "There are going to be riots over there.”
Trump said Obama should worry about defeating the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) first.
“He’s supposed to be a cheerleader for this country, [but] he just acts like a defeated man,” he said.

It is still early and time will tell how this will/should playout. Cruz flip-flops which is not desirable in a candidate. Mr Trump's selection is ultra important to the public and important to him to function properly.

Kerry and Susan Rice are clearly incompetent, both escaping blame for situations; as well as hillary. Hillary would be a disaster in the WH (Bill again too). Chris Christie possibly has a place in kerry or rice's arenas ( sect'y of state, security adivsor). He is dogged but has some NJ inherited shiftiness - expected so close to NY.

Trump needs to stay away from discussing Vice Presidential possibilities.

This is not breaking news. It's over a month old and Trump wasn't even naming a VP to begin with.

Trump needs to choose an outsider for VP, someone who is not a politician.

And believe me, when this campaign is over and won, Trump will not "like" Cruz and Cruz will hate Trump's guts. Trump is in this to win. Ted will be a Ted! like Jeb!

Who is this "outsider" you're referring to? As for Cruz, he has a lot of support that would be brought to a Trump/Cruz ticket.

I was referring to someone who hasn't been in politics. I don't know who or have a suggestion, but I think Trump should consider a choice of someone more like himself, someone from business.
