From the Texas Conservative Review by Gary Polland:

Houston Voters:
An Opportunity in City Council Race

To our Houston subscribers, you have a great opportunity to elect a conservative Republican to Houston City Council. Your vote can and will make a difference in this low turnout election.

TCR endorses Roy Morales for At-Large Position 3. A conservative, Roy Morales, a Retired Lt. Col (USAF) supports ending the sanctuary policy in the City of Houston and will eliminate Day Labor centers. Last week, Roy's opponent was quoted as saying this about illegal immigration, "We should welcome people and take care of them", (KPRC Channel 2, June 3, 2007). It shows the stark contrast between liberal Democrats and the rest of the voting public. Roy has also been endorsed by former candidate and Houston Police Officer Tom Nixon and by the Harris County Republican Party Executive Committee.

Roy is the only candidate talking about real solutions to the increasing crime and murder rate. One of Roy's talking points for the last two years has been radio interoperability between law enforcement agencies. He believes that the ability for these agencies to communicate with each other in life and death situations is critical to the safety of our citizens.

TCR believes that Roy Morales is the most qualified person to hold the at-large position that Republicans have held since 1991. Let's make sure that we keep this seat Republican. Remember, Early Voting ends on June 12th (Tuesday) and Election Day is on Saturday, June 16th. If you have not voted, please go cast your ballot for Lt. Col. Roy Morales for Houston City Council, At-Large Position 3.
