There is not enough vodka in the world to deal with stories like this.
In Illinois's 9th district, which Democrat Jan Schakowsky currently represents, voters in this week's Republican primary had a choice between Susanne Atanus and David Earl Williams III. Here's a video of the two candidates:

Are you seeing the problem here? David Earl Williams III acts like a complete toddler while Susanne Atanus is speaking. The eyerolling, the sidelong glances and smirks at whoever is off-camera - how old is this guy - 4? And while he's marginally more mature while he's answering questions himself, this is a guy who, according to this, has a domestic violence order of protection filed against him that resulted from a relationship he had with an ex-girlfriend. That girlfriend alleges that he also tried to have her fired from her job and impersonated her online. Williams faces anger management classes and a mental health assessment if he loses his appeal.
Anyway, that was Illinois's 9th district Bachelor #1.
Bachelor #2? Susanne Atanus. Let's review her a bit, shall we?
Atanus has run twice before. She lost the 2010 GOP primary and didn't have enough signatures to make the ballot in 2012. She says God puts tornadoes and diseases like autism and dementia on the earth in response to gay rights and abortions. "God is angry. We are provoking him with abortions and same-sex marriage and civil unions," she said. "Same-sex activity is going to increase AIDS. If it's in our military it will weaken our military. We need to respect God."
Susanne Atanus won the primary, y'all. A woman who is saying out loud that God is punishing the earth for abortions and gay marriage with AUTISM is going to be the GOP representative against Democrat Jan Schakowsky in the general election.
If you're wondering why the GOP loses elections? This is why. Our pickings are FOR CRAP.
