What good is a degree in 'Chicano Studies?'

What kind of job can you get with one?
Besides insighting class warfare between the middle and lower classes (read taxpayers vs llegal aliens) I don't see the point to this hate mongering degree.

Perhaps we as people forced to fund this trash should have an independant third party evaluate it's merits and see if it is worthy of taxpayer dollars.
Start small and chip away at all the elitist funded programs now before tehy become the means used to crush us.

Once again I ask "When the elitists have exterminated all the competent people who do they think will fund their lifestyle?" If it keeps going without some sort of cure the parasite (dependent upper and lower classes that rely of lobbyist and/or government funds to survive) it seems will kill the host.

Well, they can get a job as a school teacher

Teaching the millions of anchor babies (using our schools at taxpayer expense) that this is their land & all Americans are racist is hard work

    Thank you.
I was thinking a 'real' job where a business would actually need a skill and be willing to pay money for it.
I can't see Microsoft paying the janitors to learn to hate and despise the programmers.

There must be a great need for ethnic information workers and spinmeisters at La Raza, MEChA, LULAC, MALDEF, the Mexica Movement, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Salvation Army and all rescue missions, the AFL-CIO, the Garment Workers Union, the Meat Packers Union, and the Lettuce and Cucumber Pickers Union, Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice, and the New Sanctuary Movement (composed of Unitarian Universalist, United Church of Christ, Episcopal, United Methodist, Union of Reform Judaism, Interfaith Worker Justice, Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Presbyterian, American Friends Service Committee, Evangelical Christian, Muslim, and Sikh groups which aid, shelter, and transport illegal aliens).

    Don't forget the ACLU.

EMTALA requires hospitals to provide Spanish (and possibly Portuguese) translators who can mediate for illegal aliens who don't understand how the American healthcare system works. There is probably a similar requirement for translators in prisons.

Poll workers are volunteers, but we will need to hire Spanish (and possibly Portuguese) translators for the voters who can't speak or read English.

ICE and CBP also require ethnic social workers to mediate for and to accommodate the millions of illegal alien detainees. DHS, ICE, CBP, and the U.S. Congress all require ethnic spokesmen and speech writers to present the poor migrant workers' side of the story.

Obviously, there is a much greater demand in the U.S. for Hispanic social workers and advocates for illegal aliens than there is for people like us - aliens in our own native land - who only want the immigration laws enforced.

Unless we enforce laws against illegal aliens today,
tomorrow WE may wake up as illegals.

Offering the degree is probably a great way for colleges to increase enrollment of Hispanic students. You know how are colleges and universities are regarding diversity. It's all about money and diversity.

Defend the American Dream Act (HR 4378) - Repeal H1B Program

And what nationality do you suppose the programmers at Microsoft are?

Microsoft was the number 3 employer of H-1B visa holders in 2006.

The InformationWeek Top 200 H-1B Employers of 2006
"Five of the top 10 were Indian outsourcers, but Microsoft is number three, IBM number eight, and Oracle USA number nine."

    Lou Dobbs' Exporting America
"The list of companies we've confirmed are 'Exporting America.' These are U.S. companies either sending American jobs overseas, or choosing to employ cheap overseas labor, instead of American workers."

Non-Immigrant Visas (formerly the H-1B Hall of Shame)
"In the year 2001, 9 out of every 10 new job openings for computer/IT were taken by H-1Bs, and despite record unemployment, the INS issued 312,000 visas in 2002.

"By the year 2003 the total number of H-1B visas for high-tech workers issued was greater than the total number of high-tech jobs eliminated. Negative job growth in Computer/IT for U.S. citizens can be directly correlated with the huge influx of H-1B visa holders. If it weren't for H-1B, the unemployment rate for [U.S. citizen] Computer/IT workers would be 0%."

Should We Put a Cap on the Number of L-1 Visas?

"[L-1 visas] allows companies to transfer workers based in other countries to facilities based in the United States.

"In some ways, the L-1 visas are more threatening to U.S. workers than the H-1Bs are. Unlike H-1Bs, L-1s do not require that workers be paid in accordance with the prevailing wage, which means that foreign workers coming here under the protection of L-1s offer greater savings to employers. And unlike workers with H-1Bs, workers with L-1s don’t have to pay a $1,000 fee that goes toward the training of American workers. Perhaps most troubling, [as of June, 2003,] the government has not capped the number of L-1 visas issued."
