    Fault is Mexico's
When I read the story in the Houston Chronicle on May 30, my blood reached the boiling point. (Please see, "Mexican president says U.S. must help more with drug war.")

It brought to mind a Confucian saying: "Point one finger at someone: Point three at yourself." That's what Mexican President Felipe Calderon has done when he blamed the United States for Mexico's drug problems. He won't admit that Mexico is the source of the drugs, Mexico grows it, Mexico is the supplier. Without a candy store, who can buy candy? Calderon is shifting his inadequacy to control his drug-wracked country to us. The nerve of him! Let him clean up Mexico and stop looking for a scapegoat.

As for the $350 million the U.S. Senate approved in anti-narcotics aid to Mexico, the so-called "strings" demanding that Mexico rein in human rights abuses by its soldiers are justified.

Mexico and her leaders' favorite pastime: Blame the US for it's problems. For 40 years, Fidel Castro did the same thing. Real leaders do not blame others for their problems, like children do. Mexico and her people have a long way to go before they will no longer act like children.
