Police uncover foreign credit scam

LOXLEY, Ala. - Interstate 10 is a popular place for trafficking all kinds of things. In fact, Loxley police say most big busts start with a traffic violation.

Investigators say that's exactly what happened Wednesday, when Loxley police officers pulled over three foreign nationals from West Africa near mile marker 42.

Police say what should have been a routine stop for following too closely, actually uncovered a credit card scam.

Officers say the driver didn't have a valid license, which prompted a search, netting a high-tech computer and electronic equipment used to steal credit card information.

Ismael Diallo, Mohamed Diarra and Madiou Diallo are charged with criminal possession of a forgery device.

Officers say based on the evidence, this bust likely saved thousands, if not millions of dollars from being stolen.

All three men were transported to the Baldwin County Jail. Immigration and Customs agents took over the investigation.
