So...the Senators that didn't vote, is it that they weren't in D.C.? Or in the case of the Presidential candidates, were they afraid to take a position?
Also, for those who voted yes, can we get a comment on each of their positions? I don't want to beat someone up really bad who just wanted to get continuation of the debate. I do however want to (figuratively) kick the crap out of anyone who will favor it.
If anyone knows the answers to the above questions, please post.

I noticed that immediately. Talk about chickens. And these are the people that want to lead the greatest nation in the world? Their lack of actions speak more than any words that could come out of their mouths.

I know that RINO Gordon Smith of Oregon is up for reelection in 08'. He has made his intentions on illegal immigration clear on the Lars Larson show in the past. He should be addressed as Senor Smith.
I sent e-mails again last night to Senators Cornyn, and Hutchison, of Texas.
I finally got a hold of Hutchison's people at around 9:30 A.M. D.C. time, and said my peace. I had to call Cornyn's Dallas office and have them relay my message back to him. Phone traffic was very heavy all day long. I did manage to leave about three comments on the D.C. comments line as well.
I'm happy at least that Texas Senators do the right thing for now any-way.

Any chance that Cornyn & Kay "I've Finally Got A Baby" Hutchison counted votes, knew the final outcome & curried favor with "the powers to be" to let them cast NO votes to appease their constituents, knowing that in TX the penalty for screwing the folks is a speedy appointment with a "tall oak & a short rope"?
Watch these two; if nothing else, they're guilty by association with the other 98 Senate Sumbitches...
jecg, This is NO surprise that Smith voted this way, he tends to side a lot with Wyden, and we know where Wyden stands on this kind of issue, but....we all had to call and try anyways.
At the very least, this is more time, to force them to read this and also let us keep working on more senators. _________________ “In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, Brave, Hated, and Scorned. Is it legal to "reclude" yourself from a vote even though there`s no sufficient reason like "conflict of Interest"?.
or can they just whimp out? _________________ ................................

Senator Richard Burr (NC) who recently swore his allegiance to Sellout John McCain, Sold out ever American and ever soldier who ever fought, bled, and died for this great nation.
This useless sellout senator voted for cloture today even though the phone calls to his office was 200 to 7 against amnesty and cloture.
Senator pack your bags ...you have been fired from your boys club!

I will definitely call Durbin's office/Illinois this week and tell them I will not re-elect him if he votes for this bill or amnesty in any way shape or form. When I called his office today the guy was very low key, but took what I had to say and my zip code.
Obama's office was the same, but did not ask for my zip.
I have just sent this letter to my Georgia Senators. I am so dissapointed in them.
Dear Sir,
I am extremely dissapointed in your yes vote for cloture. This is a direct push toward passing an amnesty bill. American tax payers have supported illegal aliens for 20 years with healthcare, education, etc. If they are to be rewarded with citizenship and there is no provision for them to pay back taxes, I think it is time for all Americans to become Illegal by no paying any taxes for the next 20 years and let the "New Immigrants", foot the bill for us.
I am still in shock after the letters I have received from both you and Johnny Issakson, that you have voted this way. I also noticed that the candidates for the Presidency, opted out of this vote, isn't that convienient.
We Georgians have no control over how our Senators and Congressmen vote once they are in office, but we do have control over their staying in office next time it is our turn to vote.

Well you cannot help but notice that the presidential candidate's didn't vote but really is it surprising. They don't want to be held accountable. But we know their positions; and who helped passed this atrocity of a bill. McCain you will never be president; Hillery maybe; but she wanted this to pass don't be fooled. Obama believed in amnesty only because he also felt it unpractical to track down all illegals and deport them. {Nobody ever said you had to track them all right away just stop the lure that brings them and they will go on their own besides fining those that hire them } He said he supported the fence and improved boarder security etc. Basically he supported the Bush plan. Biden I have no idea about.

If Tancredo, Hunter or Paul don't make illegal immigration the number one campaign issue in the GOP primary, amnesty is certain to happen over and over again. They need to go on the offensive and, get the other runners to commit to a position of deportation and new rules of engagement at the borders.

They are hipocrites, as always, and I'm convinced the reason
they voted NO was twofold...
Yes their associates let them vote NO, AND Yes they
are intimidated of the backlash here in Texas. Despite the
reasons though, I am glad they did vote NO. We can vote
them out later, lol. In the meantime....definitely keep an
eye on them. Remember the Alamo!

Craig voted for, and has strongly supported the amnesty-based programs that have popped up in the senate for the last several years. He is also a co-sponsor with Feinstein of CA on the closely related AgJobs bill - another dangerous piece of legislation! In a letter to me last year, as I was helping to fight that bill of last year, he claimed that the illegals were needed in order to save the Idaho and U.S. economy! "Jobs no one else would do!"
Our other Senator, Mike Crapo, is with us all the way on the illegal immigration issue and voted against it.

I have written e-mails and made calls and it disturbes me that the opinions of those who give an opinion are totally ignored by there Senators and Congressmen.
Every one I talk to here in MO feels the same way as I do. So where do Makaskill and Bond get the reasoning for their votes
I would like the opportunity to ask them face to face.
