This is one that I personally don't want to see approved!!!

HR 1999 is working its way through Congress. The bill was introduced by Hinojosa and Renzi, currently sponsored by:

Barney Frank, D, MA
Ruben Hinojosa, D, TX
Ed Pastor, D, AZ
Rick Renzi, R, AZ
Silvestre Reyes, D, TX
Bill title: “‘To authorize appropriations for assistance for the National Council of La Raza and the Raza Development Fund.”

Status: 04/23/2007: Referred to the House Committee on Financial Services.

The Library of Congres

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the `Hope Fund Act of 2007′.

SEC. 2. ASSISTANCE FOR NATIONAL COUNCIL OF LA RAZA AND RAZA DEVELOPMENT FUND.

Assistance provided by the Secretary under this section may be used by the National Council of La Raza or the Raza Development Fund to–

(1) provide technical and financial assistance for site acquisition and development, construction financing, and short- and long-term financing for housing, community facilities, and economic development;

(2) leverage capital from private entities, including private financial institutions, insurance companies, and private philanthropic organizations;

(3) provide technical assistance, training, support, and advice to develop the management, financial, and administrative capabilities of housing development organizations serving low-income households, including Hispanic households; and

(4) conduct such other activities as may be determined by the Secretary and the National Council of La Raza.

(b) Authorization of Appropriations- There is authorized to be appropriated for grants under this section–

Anyone in Congress who signs this bill needs to have their name plastered everywhere as being labeled a traitor. How obsurd is this? Damn!!! Just when I thought I'd seen it all.

There seems to be nothinng in his bill which screens out he recipients of services on the basis of legal immigration status. La RAZA receives mostly private funding but if the government starts to fund those uses that a private source might back the private funds become available for other purposes. A government funded housing service frees funds for lobbying for illegal aliens. A government funded hosing project provides an economic base for lobbying on behalf of illegals.

I can't imagine why anyone is surprised...........after all, we give the "Palestinians" millions. Arafat, a known TERRORIST, was invited to the Clinton White House THIRTEEN TIMES, while the Israelis were unwelcome. This country is screwed!!

I just wrote angry emails to the Representatives listed in the first post. Frank, Renzi, Silvestri, etc. But you have to use their office address as your own because some won't accept email from other than their constituents.

This just PISSES ME OFF.

This is an injustice to the American people!! What are these Senators
thinking!!! This is discrimination!!! We all know this funding will all go
to hispanics, whether legal or illegal. The Senators who support this
should be run out of office! American taxpayers's money going to
fund a racist group activities! We need to stop this bill from passing!
