Immediate Release: 8/10/2005
Earlier this session, Republican Senator Neal Hunt of Wake County proposed an amendment to the Senate budget to prohibit illegal immigrants from receiving in-state tuition at North Carolina community colleges. The amendment passed the Senate with unanimous support.
After months of negotiations, the House and Senate Democrat budget conferees stripped Hunt’s amendment from the budget and left the door open for North Carolina to use millions of tax dollars on illegal aliens for in-state tuition.
The amount of college tuition a resident pays to attend a public college or university in their home state is called "in-state tuition." Typically this amount is much less than the tuition charged to students who come from outside the state.
Current law allows community colleges to grant in-state resident status to illegal immigrants. Republican Senators, after learning of the legal clause, voiced concerns that not only were taxpayer dollars being used to subsidize education opportunities for illegal residents, but also legal residents were being displaced from classrooms due to enrollment limits.
Republicans also raised the issue that the in-state tuition provision could later apply to illegal aliens seeking admission to state universities, a move that would displace American citizens and legal nationals alike and cost the state millions of dollars to honor.
“I was amazed that the Democrat conference committee removed our provision, said Senator Hunt. “Every North Carolina taxpayer should be outraged that their tax dollars are being used to benefit law-breakers.
A recent certified poll conducted by the Civitas Institute reported over 80% of likely voters in North Carolina oppose in-state tuition grants for illegal aliens.

Go to:
http://www.wptf.com/contactus.asp
I just left messages through WPTF with their General Manager, News Director, Kevin Miller (he's on first thing in the morning) and Rush Limbaugh.
On the left side go to "Interact" then to "Contact Us"
Hopefully this will go out to all these people. _________________ Buy ALIPAC Stuff

Mittan and Miller are perfect. Now we need to get this through to the Brad and Britt Show that broadcasts on 101.1FM Talk in Greensboro and Raleigh.
There is also a guy down near the coast named Lockwood that should have copy already but some encouragement will help.
The big score would be the Keith Larson Show on WBT out of Charlotte. The crowd in and around Charlotte is ready to kick some politicians out after the murder of Scott Gardner.

Also, if anyone has the time a message about this should be posted on the NC web forums linkin in to our efforts here. That would be a great way to get the word out. Im out the door! Good luck everyone!

A YEA VOTE ON THE BUDGET IS A VOTE FOR IN-STATE TUITION FOR ILLEGALS!
Amendment XIV
(1868)
Section 1. . . . No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States;
A "YEA" vote for 'in-state tuition for illegals' is a violation of the Constitution that "abridges" the privileges of the "CITIZENS" of the several states . . . it appears the CITIZENS of North Carolina and the several states could file suit against the State Legislature and the representatives that vote in favor of it _________________ "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it" George Santayana "Deo Vindice" |

I think all of the "House and Senate Democrat budget conferees" should be made to stand,in person, live,in front of the people of North Carolina and explain to the people of North Carolina why granting "In State Tuition" to "Illegals" is good for the state,or the country for that matter.
These "Conferees"do not have the nerve to face the people. These Conferees" operate from behind closed doors.
Like "Cock Roaches" they run when they see light.
These are the kind of People that run this country. |

No i think they should have to stand in front of the Nation and tell the people of out Great Nation. Why they are granting in-State Tuitions to Illegals and not to Citizens of the United States. _________________ http://www.alipac.us/

my original post got lost, so I'll make it short . . .
in-state tuition for "illegal aliens" is a violation of the Constitution and the laws of the United States. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination based upon "national origin" and CLEARLY, the citizens of the several states are being discriminated against because of their "national origin" --- they are legal citizens of the states and the United States.
'Aliens' -- legal or illegal, are not entitled to protection under the Civil Rights Act of 1964 based upon "national origin" because they are "foreign nationals" not American citizens protected under the Constitution FOR THE United States and the laws of the United States --- national "origin" and "nationality" are two separate and distinct things
"Aliens" are under the "law of nations" and no state can lawfully be sued by an "illegal alien" for discrimination under the laws of the United States.
The "Alien Tort Statute" gives aliens the right to sue for civil TORTS in violation of the "law of nations" -- not the "laws of the United States"
However, the citizens of the several states can sue the legislatures of the states and the representatives for discrimination and violation of
Constitutional rights. Where state officials are "outside of the law" and operating "outside of the Constitution" I don't believe they are entitled to immunity.
If these officials were held personally accountable for the actions, they wouldn't be so quick to discriminate against citizens _________________ "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it" George Santayana "Deo Vindice" |

I'm going to unload on some of you worthless Democrats in the General Assembly who are trying your best in rolling out the red carpet for illegals in this state. We've had enough already of your tactics and your under the table wheeling and dealing. Why don't you do us all a favor and just go home never to return to Raleigh.
I have never seen a bunch of worthless individuals in my life. I wonder just how much $ you are getting paid for doing us legals in?
Someday your names will come out in public who you are. Then it is going to be roasting time. _________________ I wonder how many illegals got their NC driver licenses renewed last week?
President Bush needs to protect the borders not illegals.
President Bush is a coward and guilty of treason when it comes to securing the borders. |
