Children Born Of Illegal Aliens No Longer U.S. Citizens Under Huckabee Plan

Presidential candidate and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee met in private Friday to hear pleas from Minuteman Project founder and president Jim Gilchrist regarding presidential pardons for imprisoned U.S. Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.
Gilchrist joined the governor for a three-day, multi-city stumping campaign around Des Moines, Iowa last week.
“If elected president I would instantly begin a review of the facts and circumstances surrounding the agents’ cases,” the Governor told Gilchrist. “If only half of what I have learned of their situation is true, then it would appear they were ‘railroaded’. Their trials and convictions appear absurd”.
Although Mike Huckabee granted 1,033 pardons from a stack of over 8,700 requests during his ten and one-half-year tenure as Governor of Arkansas, he also carried out 16 death sentences against convicted murderers.
“I would make it my first act as president to pardon agents Ramos and Compean,” he said. “I regret that they have spent yet another Christmas locked up in a window-less cell like animals and unable to be free and with their families.”
Gilchrist also asked Governor Huckabee for a clear and concise statement explaining his stand on the repatriation provisions of his nine-point Save America Plan. The plan, designed to bring an expedient and orderly resolution to the illegal alien invasion crisis, was published on the Huckabee web site in November, 2007. www.mikehuckabee.com
“Under no circumstances,” Huckabee said, “should my repatriation plan, requiring all illegal aliens to return to their homelands within 120 days or face criminal expulsion, be misconstrued as a “touchback amnesty”.
Huckabee claims some persons have incorrectly portrayed his “no amnesty…mandatory repatriation to homeland” provision as part of a defunct House Bill introduced by Mike Pence (R- Ind.) over a year ago. “The Pence Bill has no relevance to my plan,” he added.
“Illegal aliens must go to the back of the line, in their country of origin, and start any immigration process legally,” he told Gilchrist. “There will be no ‘touchback’ and no amnesty”.
“We must modernize our immigration process for valid, legal immigrants to be more expeditiously vetted so they can become U.S. citizens within a reasonable time,” the Governor said, alluring to the fact that many ‘legal’ immigrants who have gone through the immigration system still wait eight or more years to be granted U.S. citizenship.
Gilchrist also queried the governor on how he would deal with the confusion caused by what many Americans feel is a misinterpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment regarding the granting of citizenship to the children of illegal aliens who are born in the United States.
“Americans want a precise definition of that amendment, Governor,” Gilchrist said. “It is a source of national anger, especially among U.S. citizen moms and dads.”
According to Gilchrist, Governor Huckabee proposed three immediate possibilities for resolving the confusion over the Fourteenth Amendment:
1. Encourage a U. S. Supreme Court review of the current interpretation of that amendment.
2. Encourage Congress to introduce an amendment to the Constitution (a 28th Amendment) to clearly define citizenship to exclude children born of illegal aliens in the United States.
3. Rely on the Huckabee repatriation plan that would no longer allow illegal aliens to reside in the United States.
“Mr. Huckabee suggested that it might take all three of these solutions, operating concurrently, to reach a final resolution to the issue posed by the decades-long vague interpretation of the 14th Amendment”, Gilchrist said.

"Quickly vetted." Is he kidding? Quick vetting - identity verification, document searches, background checks, medical inquiries - from foreign nations.
Many do wait extremely long periods, but we are so generous in how many people that we do allow to enter legally every year.
He must be speaking of that "credit card" time frame (a few hours or days) he talks about when referring to entering and applying for citizenship.
Mr. Huckabee's campaign must be realizing the toll that our efforts are making and can continue to make on the issue of illegal immigration when combined with Mr. Huckabee's record on illegal immigration while governor.

He really is stretching it. Actually, I believe any of the candidates on the republican side is probably going to say (or had better say) that they'll pardon the border agents.
As for the rest of it, I think this is Huckabee's way of waving his little white flag.
He's running 4th in New Hampshire. He knows he needs a win in Iowa for money to move up. He's got the most to win & lose in Iowa. He NEEDS Iowa.
Romney is in good shape either way for now. He's tied for 1st with McCain in New Hampshire. Who knew McCain would still be viable at this point?

A Constitutional Ammendment can only happen via the states constitutional convention AFTER congress proposes it:

I just spoke with a campaign aide in Iowa that confirms the Gilchrist e-mail.
The pardon quote, the touchback clarification and the 14th Amendment quote.
I spoke with campaign staff too and it appears the young volunteers are trying to tell people whatever they want to hear.
They could not direct me to one written document or bit of evidence backing the claim that Huckster said one of his first acts as President would be to pardon Ramos and Compean.
Huckabee has said he would like the case reviewed, but it appears the words we are hearing are Gilchrist's and not Huckabee's.

Well here’s an email (screenshot) I received today. This is typical Jim Gilchrist. The man is a real whack job and will stoop to the lowest possible level to defame others. No lie is too big for little Jimbo.
This fraud has been defaming the board members of the Minuteman Project ever since the alleged embezzlement of $600,000 from the MMP bank account.
I guess little Jimbo saw the video I made about him and his endorsement of pro-amnesty presidential candidate Mike Huckabee. He’s trying to intimidate me into not talking about him on Immigration Watchdog or making any more videos exposing him.

I have been hearing on the blogs, over the telephone, and through emails that you are a pedophile, Brook. Will that accusation also reach the news media soon? I am surprised you are still on Gilchrist's e-mail list William.
Ive asked to be removed four times and he refuses. Also, several other leaders have asked to be removed and one wrote back tonight they are going tto the law for help since he will not honor their request.

A) Pardon our Border GUARDS(!) Ramos and Compean.
and,
B) issue an Executive Order ending any confusion that AMERICAN -Birth- (Anchor Baby) CITIZENSHIP is only applicable when at least one of the parents is a LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZEN.
C. Completely Enforce the USA Immigration & Employment laws and thus repatriate/self-deport all ILLEGALs via attrition......
