To the Honorable Delegate __________,
I'm writing / calling to ask Delegates ____ to support House Bill 195 and HB 387. We the people need the State of Maryland to protect the citizens of this state and the citizens of surrounding states who are also victims of illegal aliens attaining a drivers license or Identification from the state of Maryland. Driving is a privilege, not a right and it should not be given to people who are breaking the laws of our state and country. Identification gives them the privilege to open bank accounts and go about society as if they had a right to be here...please do not condone illegal activity, do what is right and pass HB195 and HB387. Protect American Citizens by upholding your oath of office.
Respectfully,
XXXXXXXX

(requiring proof of lawful presence in order to receive a Maryland driver's license)
&
HOUSE BILL 387 Vehicle Laws - Drivers' Licenses, Identification Cards, and Moped Operators' Permits - Proof of Legal Presence
Wednesday, February 25, 2009, 1:00 PM (sign in at 11:30)
House Judiciary Committee, Room 100, Taylor House Office Bldg
12 Bladen St, Annapolis, MD 21401
Your support of both of these bills, through attendance at the hearings, e-mailing, writing or calling ALL committee members and your own elected officials, letters to the editor or calls to radio talk shows are all necessary to push for it's passage.
Maryland is one of only 4 states left (the only one east of the Rockies) that does NOT require legal presence to receive a state driver's license. Out of country applications are overwhelming our MVA. CASA of MARYLAND, ACLU and other anti-citizen groups will try to kill both bills, as will Committee Chairman (D) Joe Vallario (Prince George's and Calvert).
Del Vallario, Del Jolene Ivey (D-Prince George's) and the Democratic leadership now seem to be endorsing a 2-tier licensing system with one card for citizens and legal immigrants, and one for those who are illegal. This system is cumbersome, unmanageable and expensive, and still causes Maryland to be a magnet state.
Why do we want illegal aliens on our roadways in Maryland and around the nation?? To drive to their illegally obtained jobs? To drive to CASA or ACLU events? To commit crimes in one jurisdiction and drive with impunity to another?
House Bills 659 and 742 endorse this lawless, pro-illegal approach and will be heard at the same time, so do NOT support them. Tell ALL the committee members that you oppose Drivers Licenses' of any form for illegal aliens in Maryland.
Want to see what a CASA of MARYLAND STOOGE DEL JOE VALLARIO IS? WATCH THE VIDEO!!
Please join fellow Help Save Maryland members in Annapolis to testify FOR HB 195 & 387 and AGAINST HB 659 & 742. You can bring formal testimony to read and submit (bring 35 copies), or just draft some points and make your 3 minute presentation from your heart.
Or just come down and spend the afternoon with fellow HSM members in support. Its not hard to do, and it will show our lawless representatives in Annapolis that HB 659 & 742 should be withdrawn and that the HB 195 & 387 should be passed out of committee.
Having attended these hearings in previous years, if you support "Proof of Lawful Presence" you can expect to be treated with some contempt. The paid lobbyists for CASA de Maryland and the ACLU will be given first priority and will be allowed to speak at great length expressing their opposition to H.B. 195 and/or H.B. 387. They will be accompanied by a large number of individuals - most of whom will have been rounded up and bused in by a complicit union (frequently AFSCME and/or the UFCW).
HSM Members who SUPPORT our nation being a nation of laws instead of a lawless nation will be hurried, cut-off and given the opportunity to wait for HOURS before Chairman Vallario calls for supporters of H.B. 195 or H.B. 387 to speak.

Maryland legislature dragging feet on immigration bills

The Maryland Senate has a bill to lower tuition for college students, who are in this country illegally, whose parents or guardians are taxpayers. S.B. 41 would offer in-state tuition to college students who attended state schools for two previous years, if their parents pay taxes and the students apply for permanent residency when applicable.
The bill was introduced by Sen. David Harrington (D-Prince George’s); it has been sent to the Senate Budget and Taxation’s Health, Education, and Human Resources Subcommittee. A hearing is scheduled March 17.
The Maryland Association of Community Colleges has historically supported this concept; the bill has repeatedly been defeated in earlier legislative sessions and probably will face a similar fate this year. A companion bill, H.B. 612, was heard before the House Ways and Means Committee Tuesday. That bill is sponsored by Ways and Means Chair Sheila Hixson (D-Montgomery).
The bill, and H.B. 612, is for all public institutions of higher learning not just community colleges.
On another front a group of Democrats have introduced H.B. 659, which would purportedly ensure that a federally compliant ID card be issued that complies with the Federal Real ID Act of 2005. Yet a larger group of lawmakers introduced H.B. 742 to do the same thing.
Of course a bipartisan H.B. 195 does the same thing. See http://feed.examiner.com/examiner/admin/EntryController.cfm?action=edit&id=102447 for a refresher. The bills have one thing in common: No senate support.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) A Maryland Senate committee is backing an effort to deny licenses and state ID cards to people who can't prove they are legally in the country.
The Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee voted late Wednesday to advance the bill to the Senate floor.
Maryland is one of just four states where people don't have to prove they're legal U.S. residents to get driver's licenses. Some lawmakers say Maryland's rules make it a target for fraud by undocumented people from all over the U.S.
Others argue that allowing illegal immigrants to get state-issued identification gives police broader databases to use when investigating crimes and increases the rate of auto insurance coverage. Hawaii, New Mexico and Washington also issue licenses to residents regardless of immigration status.

Help Save Maryland Action Alert
Help Save Maryland Urgent Alert - America, We Need Your Help!
The Maryland Democratic Party Leaders in Annapolis are doing nothing to stop their fellow party members as they push for continued access to Drivers Licenses for illegal aliens in Maryland.
Under the latest Democratic plan, hundreds of thousands of Illegal Aliens, many not residing in Maryland, will be able to keep their Maryland drivers' license permanently!
AMNESTY for Illegal Alien Drivers in Maryland!!
This includes wanted illegal alien criminals, MS-13 gang members, and lawbreaking Day Laborers. All can keep their drivers' license if the Democrats controlling the legislature in Annapolis have their way.
This proposed Amnesty is a threat to the safety of Marylanders and all U.S. Citizens. Recent reports in the Washington Post newspaper and other media have highlighted the massive drivers' license fraud committed by the hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens from all over the country.
Illegal aliens sneak into America and make a beeline to Maryland for a drivers license and assistance from the support group CASA of Maryland (Central American Solidarity Association). CASA is funded in part by Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
CITIZENS ACROSS AMERICA, PLEASE BOYCOTT MARYLAND UNTIL THE STATE CONFORMS TO A SINGLE DRIVERS' LICENSE OBTAINED ONLY BY "LEGAL PRESENCE" IN THE STATE.
Contact Governor O'Malley and Senior Maryland Democratic Party Leaders. Tell them you plan to boycott Maryland's beaches and Ocean City this summer. Refuse to eat Maryland crabs or do any business with Maryland hotels and other businesses.
Bypass Maryland on your travels and instead give your business to neighboring Virginia and Delaware.
Please call and e-mail all the officials below ASAP. No Drivers' License Amnesty for Illegal Aliens in Maryland. Boycott Maryland Now!:
1- CALL MD GOVERNOR MARTIN O'MALLEY 410-974-3901
2- CALL Maryland Committee Chairman DELEGATE JOSEPH F. VALLARIO, JR. - Democrat
Fellow Patriots from around the nation: Maryland legislators have lost their minds. We have an ethnocentric special interest group - CASA or Central American Solidarity Assocition with ties to Marxist Hugo Chavez controlling our MD legislature. I am not exaggerating. They run things and there appears to be some sort of love fest with many of our delegates and senators and CASA- also with our Governor. This is wrong. Not even that creepy Elliott Spitzer got away with a two tiered license!
Please do what you can to help us. This is a disgrace- illegal aliens are runing the once beautiful state of Maryland. Maryland has become a sanctuary state. It is a top destination for illegal aliens. Our country's very sovereignty is at stake!!!!!!! You should all be very worried about terrorism also since we are so very close to Washington DC!
Our politicians are listening to CASA and the illegal aliens and not us- the legal taxpaying citizens.I just spent 4 days testifying in front of the General Assembly. CASA bused in about 150 or more illegal alien day laborers to testify for their "rights" with headphones and an interpreter! How this is allowed to go on I simply do not know. Something is very, very wrong! Even the head of the MD Moter Vehicles testified about how they find things like 68 people registered to one address and how they are so overloaded that they can barely process all of the illegal aliens who are coming to them. We had a young Marine from Iraq- home for leave on Thanksgiving night and he and his girlfriend were slaughtered by an illegal alien drunk driver..There have been Gangs killing old ladies- one was set on fire while she was still alive- The politicians in Maryland have blood on their hands!! Yet-with all of this horror going on- a bill was passed last night to allow a two tier plan so that illegal aliens can receive their own drivers license! This is insanity!
It is not too late- though, some good reps are fighting these tratorous American Sellout MD politicians- it is not finished quite yet. HELP US PLEASE!!!!!!! We must defeat the 2 tiered drivers lisence!
Hi Trixie...we worked on Maryland for almost a week, we are on several other states but I will give this to April so she can put out another Alert for your state....
Seems we have a emergancy in DC they are going to try to pass the Dream Act again...if they do that all of our wins in the states with in-state tuition is out the window..
Sheeez they are coming at us from all sides

i am sickened.
i am saddened.
and i am ashamed to be from maryland.
this no longer is an american state. it has become little el salvador. i am sick and tired of reading stories about illegal alien crimes in maryland, and in the same breath hearing our elected officials demand "rights" for illegal alien criminals. _________________ Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented worker" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist"........

I am close to tears myself. Maryland is in this predicament due to Gustavo Torres- founder of CASA (with ties to Marxist Hugo Chavez) who was on O'malley's transition team. We have people lilke Ana Sol Gutierrez and Victor Ramirez in our legistlature - who were born in El Saladore. They dont' seem interested in following our laws but instead importing their people in order to take over our state. All of them need to have their citizenship stripped. CASA completely runs our state. When and if this will be investigated I don't know. Also, our Governor, Martin O'Malley is loves illegal aliens and panders to CASA at every turn. It is sickening and we are truly losing our state. I guess we are in good company with other fine states. Our country's very sovereignty is being threatened and we are being invaded without a shot having been fired.

Undocumented students will continue to pay higher tuition rates at Maryland colleges after the state Assembly effectively killed a bill that proposed to grant them in-state rates if they are residents. El Tiempo Latino reported that legislators adjourned before considering the bill, which was introduced by Sheila Hixon. Even if they have graduated from Maryland high schools, undocumented students are considered nonresidents and pay college tuitions that are about three times the rate for residents.

Nana: At least we defeated this monstrosity. However- the monstrosity of a two tierd license will be real. Illegal aliens will have their own driver's license. No new ones can be issued- BUT all of the ones who have drivers licenses are able to get them renewed thru 2015 (or some such date) in hopes that these people will all get amnesty soon.
Sickening. CASA - or Central American Solidarity Association with ties to Hugo Chavez runs the politians in our state. They are evil as are MANY of our representatives in the sanctuary state of Maryland.
Folks- this should worry all Americans. Maryland is too close to DC and we have no idea who is slithering into our country.

Illegal immigration is immigration across national borders in a way that violates the immigration laws of the destination country. Illegal immigrants are also known as illegal aliens to differentiate them from legal aliens. In politics, the term may imply a larger set of social issues and time constraints with disputed consequences in areas such as economy, social welfare, education, health care, slavery, prostitution, legal protections, voting rights, public services, and human rights. Conversely, Illegal emigration refers to unlawfully leaving a country.
Causes
Illegal immigration may be prompted by the desire to escape civil war or repression in the country of origin. Non-economic push factors include persecution (religious and otherwise), frequent abuse, bullying, oppression, and genocide, and risks to civilians during war. Political motives traditionally motivate refugee flows - to escape dictatorship for instance.
After decades of armed conflict, roughly one of every 10 Colombians now lives abroad. For example, Colombians emigrating to Spain have "grown exponentially, from a little over 7,000 in 1993 to more than 80,000 in 2002 and 244,000 in 2003." This is equivalent to 124,000 Colombian immigrants in year 2003 into Spain alone. Also, figures from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security indicate that Colombia is the fourth-leading source country of unauthorized immigration to the United States. Accordin to its estimates, the number of unauthorized Colombian residents in the United States almost tripled from 51,000 in 1990 to 141,000 in 2000. According to the US Census Bureau, the number of authorized Colombian immigrants in the United States in 2000 was 801,363. Census data are important because, as the Department of Homeland Security states, [U.S.] "census data are more complete and reliable [than INS's data] because of the national scope of the data collection, the vastly larger data sample, and the extensive preparation and follow-up activities involved in conducting the decennial census." El Salvador is another country which experienced substantial emigration as a result of civil war and repression. The largest per-capita source of immigrants to the United States comes from El Salvador. Up to a third of the world's Salvadoran-born population lives outside the country, mostly in the United States. According to the Santa Clara County, California, Office of Human Relations.
Despite the fact that the U.S. government’s role in the Salvadoran conflict was unique in sustaining the prolongation of the civil conflict, the government and the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) extended little sympathy to the people affected by the war. In the 1980s, the INS granted only 2% of political asylum applications, claiming that democracy existed in El Salvador and that reports of U.S. and government-sponsored “death squads” were overblown. As a response to what they considered a failure of the U.S. government to address the situation of Salvadoran refugees in the country, American activists established a loose network to aid refugees. Operating in clear violation of U.S. immigration laws, these activists took refugees into their houses, aided their travel, hid them and helped them find work. This became known as the “sanctuary movement”.
Family reunification
Some illegal immigrants seek to live with loved ones, such as a spouse or other family members. This is particularly true for the families of binational same sex couples. [relevance?] The Lesbian and Gay Immigration Rights Task Force (LGIRTF) warns binational same sex couples in the United States that marriage may actually increase the likelihood of becoming undocumented, rather than decreasing it. Other individuals seek to distance themselves from their spouses.
