Short Answer

Has your campaign addressed the topic of illegal immigration in speeches, commercials, ads, or campaign materials? What are those messages? (Please provide sources or examples)

I have been consistent in my message that our nation's immigration laws must be obeyed and enforced. This is a matter of fairness to legal immigrants and it involves our national security.

What do you feel your opponent’s stance on illegal immigration or immigration reform is or would be?

My opponent is a Democrat, and while I do not know his position on illegal immigration, generally speaking, some Democrats in Congress have bee supportive of amnesties for illegal aliens, which I oppose.

Have you been endorsed by or received contributions from any other immigration reform or illegal immigration reduction groups at this time?

I have worked with numberous organizations, and illegal immigration is one of the subjects that we discuss. I have stated clearly I do not support amnesties for illegal immigrants and want to work to close loopholes in our immigration system.

Would you openly accept an endorsement and or contribution from ALIPAC?

Yes.

Please use the remainder of this space to share any further opinions on these issues. (optional)

Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC/2) is ALIPAC’s Choice for Congress

For Immediate Release Friday, October 29, 2004

Contact: William Gheen
President, Americans for Legal Immigration PAC

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC added their support and endorsement to Congressman Joe Wilson’s campaign for Congress today.

“Congressman Wilson is clearly in touch with the mood of the public on this issue. says William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. “Illegal immigration and immigration reform is an issue on the rise in the Carolinas. The vast majority of our legal citizens want more done to protect our state budgets, health care systems, law enforcement agencies, and school systems from the largest wave of illegal immigration in our nation’s history.

Joe Wilson was endorsed due to his responses to ALIPAC’s candidate survey found at http://www.alipac.us and his campaign messages at http://JoeWilsonforCongress.com

Congressman Wilson has received a grade of “A on immigration reform issues at http://betterimmigration.com for his legislative record during his first term. He has indicated that he opposes amnesties and “guest worker programs for illegal aliens along with other rewards such as in-state tuition and driver licenses. Congressman Wilson considers illegal immigration a threat to our national security.

“We can’t protect our nation if we can’t protect our borders. Gheen says. “We hope that other legislators will follow the lead of Congressman Wilson on this issue and we hope the voters of South Carolina will return him to Congress. Across America, citizens are organizing to provide more support to candidates like Congressman Joe Wilson because he is willing to stand with America’s legal citizens against illegal immigration.

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is a national political action committee with supporters every state. Based in North Carolina, ALIPAC’s goal is to provide more support for candidates that support immigration reform and illegal immigration reduction. More information at www.ALIPAC.us
