Massachusetts announced Monday that it will refuse to join the federal government’s Secure Communities initiative, becoming the latest state to balk at the Obama administration’s key anti-illegal immigration program designed to target gang members and violent felons for deportation.
Following on the heels of Illinois and New York, which this year said they would try to opt out of the program, the move signals growing discontent from usually reliable Democratic territory over President Obama’s immigration policy, which is now drawing fire from both sides of the aisle.

What is it with these liberal controlled states, don't they believe in law and order? As a life-long conservative, I'll never understand the liberal mind set on the issue of immigration. They tend to want as much of it as the can get, legal or illegal. How can they not see tha unchecked immigration is dragging this country down?

SO WHAT....when did it become law that ONLY "criminal" aliens are deported? ALL of them should be deported. It's unbelievable that these States would allow serious criminals and gang members to go free just because a "non-criminal" illegal MIGHT be caught and deported. How insane!!! It only proves that that these liberal states will put lives at risk in the pursuit of power and votes. They are CRIMINAL and are abetting criminals.
...Obama has touted as a major step in changing immigration enforcement away from going after rank-and-file immigrants and toward criminals.
