Well now I get what everybody was saying, he did lie and say that guy was an illegal alien to trip you up and play the compassion card to sway people to his side of the debate.

If he does make a retraction or apology on the issue it would be very nice if somebody could grab a copy of it. Anybody that has the ability might want to record his show tomorrow just incase.

The guy he featured from the military was a green card holder. He was here in the US legally, when he enlisted. He was married to a US citizen. That's too funny!

The broadcast video Rick Sanchez played was talking about "Green Card Troops" only and NOT talking about illegal aliens.

This means that the soldier lawfully applied for citizenship and was Lawfully Admitted for Permanent Residence (LAPR). The US Military does NOT knowingly enlist illegal aliens! A recruit MUST possess a green card.

Additionally, it was obvious he was a green card holder, because he was married to a United States Citizen (USC).

So where does Sanchez get off calling this soldier an illegal alien?

I heard them describe the guy as having a green card. Thus, he would be a legal resident. So if a legal resident decides to join the military, then giving a faster path to citizenship is a different story than what the arguing was about. He was not an illegal who joined the military. He was a legal resident. Arrogant Sanchez just called him an illegal to create a dramatic hot debate and to see if he could make William trip up.

I hope Sanchez annoys everyone else as much as he does me!

Regarding the discussion William had with Rick Sanchez, it is a sticky issue, and in the case of a few illegals who have joined the army, maybe we can make an exception, but basically I agree with William. The lines and demarcations have to be clear if we as a nation are to retain our identity. The more nebulous the lines become, the more dangerous the whole thing is. And as I understand it, Rick Sanchez is pro illegal aliens. So, how can he be trusted in his arguments? He has an agenda that isn't in line with the majority of Americans. When will these people let go.

I could not see the video clip played about the soldier, Darwin, and I could barely hear it.

I asked Sanchez if the guy was an illegal because he kept talking as if he was.

He tells me point blank at 5:45 in the video "Yes, this guy is an illegal alien in the Military"

I have no way of telling if Sanchez was wrong or if his producer that made the video clip is wrong.

If Sanchez is wrong, he owes that soldier and me an apology.

I have this video posted at my entry on Rick Sanchez outright lying (including at least six I list that I know of offhand).

I was watching Lou Dobbs last night and was getting ready to head back to the computer when I saw Sanchez come on and start talking about vets. Being a vet myself I listened for a minute and then there was William Gheen.

OK that hooked me, I had to watch it.

I'm sorry to say my years as a sailor paid off as I watched the outright lies spew from Sanchez's mouth and my mouth uttered words unknown to many human ears. Mad

As I stated in my entry on this, I truly did feel like I needed to take a shower after watching this Rick Sanchez segment and the amount of dirty lies he told. I can only wonder how Gheen felt after the interview.

An absolute insult to legal immigrants, Sgt Phillips and all veterans who have served in the past and those who will be vets in the future.

I have been appalled for some time now that CNN would allow a second-rate, pro-illegal mind like Rick Sanchez be one of it's anchors. To this effect I have made certain to turn off his broadcast, which now follows the deeply respected Lou Dobbs report, just upon seeing Sanchez's face.

But nowhere and at no time was Mr. Sanchez's studpidity and ignorance laid more bare than when he confronted that great American, William Gheen. If ever there was a discussion in which the forces of evil (Sanchez) met face to face with the forces of good and decency (Gheen), this was it. Sanchez proved moronic, Gheen - brilliant.

Truthfully Sanchez should co-anchor with Giraldo Rivera, with which he has much in common in his thoughts on illegal immigration. Why they might even have, as their first guest Hilary Clinton and her take on Eliot Spitzer's attempt to give all New York illegals a drivers license. Talk about insanity reigning supreme.

Rick Sanchez conveniently glosses over the fact stated in the clip of Sargeant Philips that the soldier was a Green Card holder, married to a US Citizen. Sanchez's entire arguement was based on this soldier being an illegal immigrant and it was clear he was not.

How can cnn even have allowed this segment. The only person I watch on cnn is Lou Dobbs. I'm an independent not democrat and not republican. I'm tired of being labelled as 'hateful' 'racist' etc by people like Sanchez and Prince Eliot Spitzer for believing that those here ILLEGALLY deserve any rewards.

I left comments to cnn and everyone else should as well. If every member from ALIPAC could turn on another friend/coworker to ALIPAC every month, and if everyone could register to vote and really vote out ANY politician that won't start cleaning up this mess we could fix this HUGE problem.

Two thumbs way up !!! Sanchez tried his best to play the race card and the sympathy card for illegal aliens you very effectively took the wind out of his sails.
Your points were on the money. I am proud to be a member of ALIPAC.

While I am posting I would like to bring something to everyones attention. There is yet another bill the pro-illegals are trying to push through for vote before the Thanksgiving break. HR 4088 refered to as The SAVE act.
On the surface this looks like definate enforcement. It is not !!

Congress and Senate have tried to force feed the American public amnesty for illegal aliens and we have defeated their every effort. So of course I question this sudden change of heart.

I strongly urge everyone to google thomas.gov there is a search bar in the middle of the page type in HR 4088 then check the circle on the right and hit search. This will take you straight to the complete text of the bill.

I warn you in advance it is looong ! I don't mind telling you I hate trying to read these things. They are are full of legal language and unless you are a lawyer it is very aggravating.

Click on each of the three hundred plus sections and read, skim through what you don't quickly understand but look closely at the wording.

In everyone of the sections you will find wording such as " appropriation of funds as available".

This entire bill is full of loopholes that will allow for non-enforcement.

It is my belief that Congress and Senate having failed to convince the American public to grant amnesty have come up with this HR 4088 The so called SAVE act

TO MAKE IT APPEAR AS IF THEY NOW AGREE AND ARE SERIOUS ABOUT BORDER SECURITY AND ENFORCEMENT OF LAW CONCERNING ILLEGAL ALIENS.

If our government were serious about border security and enforcement there would be no need NO NEED of this long winded bill. America already has laws they are strong --- the problem is our government IS NOT ENFORCING.

The state of Oklahoma recently passed a law that simply enforces the current law. If the American government would simply make a public statement,

" America will no longer turn a blind eye we will aggresively enforce our existing laws in all fifty states"

That one statement would see illegal aliens leaving our country on their own. The illegals in Oklahoma for the most part have left that state. Some went back to their own country yet a majority simply moved to a non-enforcement state.

Please do not let this seemingly sudden rush to "pass HR 4088" fool you. Call, email, show up in person at your Congressmans or Senators offices let them know as politely as you can that you see through the tangled web and you are not buying it. Every single day that our laws go unenforced the illegals are still pouring over our borders, and having babies.

The 14th Amendment in our Constitution is very clear just because a baby is born on US soil DOES NOT make them an automatic citizen. If I can read that and understand it so can you.

Our basic problem is our government's refusal to:
1) Enforce the laws we already have
2) Secure our borders and ports of entry.

It amazes me that many people who watched the debate last night will actually believe Rick is telling the truth simply because he is part of CNN.
I just wrote an email to CNN telling them I am disgusted with the lies they tell on their News and that they have a responsibility to tell the truth, not fabricated stories to incite the masses. I served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years and served with quite a few non-U.S. Citizens who were Green Card holders and here in the U.S. LEGALLY. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get into the military without a valid SSN or a valid Green Card. The background checks for the person who is applying are intense and I doubt anyone will slip by. Besides, if an illegal DID try to enter our military I do believe they will be arrested, interrogated and deported.
Anyway, everyone should write CNN and let them know we are not taking their B.S. especially Rich Sanchez's crap. Good going William!
