CBP Arrests Alien For Fraudulent Use Of A Puerto Rico Driver’s License

(Tuesday, November 15, 2011)

San Juan, Puerto Rico – U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers presented a criminal complaint today against Guillermo Concepcion-Mendoza, a citizen of the Dominican Republic, for fraudulent use of a Puerto Rico driver’s license.

During an inspection by CBP Officers, Concepcion-Mendoza presented a Puerto Rico Driver’s License and Social Security card under the name of Daniel Rodriguez –Santos, claiming to be a U.S. Citizen and the rightful owner of the documents.

CBP officers referred the individual to secondary inspection for further questioning and his fingerprints were queried thru database systems to verify his identity and any prior criminal or immigration records.

The query revealed his name to be Guillermo Concepcion-Mendoza, who had been apprehended by CBP Border Patrol and removed from the United States on July 19, 2006.

Concepcion-Mendoza admitted that he had acquired the Puerto Rico Birth Certificate and Social Security card from an undisclosed person for $500.

The CBP Enforcement Unit turned the case over to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Immigration Unit.
