Immigrant pleads guilty to charges
A Mexican man in the country illegally could be sentenced to a maximum of 14 years in prison and up to a $1 million fine after an investigation by U.S. immigration and customs officials.
Alejo Rincon-Alvarez, 24, from Mexico, pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to three counts of using a stolen Social Security number. He also pleaded guilty to one count of making a false statement on an I-9 government form with the intent to gain unlawful employment.
Rincon-Alvarez entered into a plea agreement in Iowa's U.S. Northern District Court, where he admitted he applied for a job at Beef Products Inc., in Evansdale.
He remains in custody of the U.S. marshal pending sentencing before a U.S. District Court judge.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
