FAIR Action Alert! DREAM Act 9/25/07

Special Interest Groups Pressure Senate to Pass DREAM Act!
CALL NOW AND MAKE SURE YOUR VOICE IS HEARD!

Yesterday evening, Capitol Hill newspapers reported that special interest groups are pressuring amnesty supporters in the Senate to offer the DREAM Act as an amendment to the Department of Defense Authorization Bill (H.R.1585).

Just yesterday, the National Immigration Forum and other amnesty proponents such as La Raza and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops participated in a conference call with reporters to rally support for the bill.

This pressure appears to be working on some as an aide to Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) reported that the Senator is looking at every opportunity to offer the DREAM Act. (Congress Now) And, as most of you already know, Senator Durbin has already filed two versions of the amendment.

We must make sure that these special interest groups do not drown out the will of the American people!

Your voices must be heard too—loud and clear!

PLEASE CALL YOUR SENATORS NOW AND LET THEM KNOW YOU OPPOSE THE DREAM ACT!

Tell them you oppose all forms of amnesty and that when you told them in June you opposed the Bush-Kennedy amnesty bill, YOU MEANT IT! Tell them you are offended that some in the U.S. Senate are now trying to pass that legislation piece by piece.

The Department of Defense Authorization Bill will be on the floor all this week, so we must not let up! Please call your Senators NOW!!!

I couldn't agree more and we saw this coming. These pieces of will not be passed as stand-alone bills. They are garbage and the sponsors and co-sponsors know it. Well so do we and we are watching.
