Questions about the journalists on Mitt Romney’s lawn
[quote]
By Michelle Malkin • December 4, 2007 10:21 PM
Well, this is fascinating. Two Boston Globe reporters hung out on Mitt Romney’s lawn last week and other Globe staffers have been scoping out the lawn over the last two months:
Standing on stage at a Republican debate on the Gulf Coast of Florida last week, Mitt Romney repeatedly lashed out at rival Rudy Giuliani for providing sanctuary to illegal immigrants in New York City.
Yet, the very next morning, on Thursday, at least two illegal immigrants stepped out of a hulking maroon pickup truck in the driveway of Romney’s Belmont house, then proceeded to spend several hours raking leaves, clearing debris from Romney’s tennis court, and loading the refuse back on to the truck.
In fact, their work was part of a regular pattern. Despite a Globe story in Dec. 2006 that highlighted Romney’s use of illegal immigrants to tend to his lawn, Romney continued to employ the same landscaping company – until today. The landscaping company, in turn, continued to employ illegal immigrants.
Two of the workers confirmed in separate interviews with Globe reporters last week that they were in the country without documents. One said he had paid $7,000 to a smuggler to escort him across the desert into Arizona; the other said he had come to the country with a student visa that was now expired. Both were seen on the lawn by either Globe reporters or photographers over the last two months.
The Globe piece published this evening on the paper’s website is accompanied by a massive photo, snapped through a fence, showing the lawn company owner mowing Romney’s lawn.
Questions abound:
Will Geraldo Rivera and his open-borders companions accuse the reporters of Nazi-like tactics for “harassingâ€

They should stand outside all the politicians homes and see what is going on.

Are they asking ALL the landscape workers in the neighborhood about their citizenship status or just profiling the ones on Romney's lawn?

It doesn't matter which lawn they choose to inhabit - if an illegal is working there - it's wrong.
If that lawn just happens to be owned by some politician who is asking for the job of running this country and he is blatantly hiring illegals to do it - go for it.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

This is a diversionary issue by the MSM, trying to play "gotcha" and make a mountain out of a molehill. The important thing is that Romney has made clamping down on illegal immigration and providing no form of amnesty a key part of his campaign, and the OBL and libs don't like this. As Malkin notes, although Romney should be embarrassed, I really don't give a sh*& if Romney indirectly, inadvertantly hired a few illegals to cut his lawn. I care that he has endorsed enforcing the law and providing no form of any amnesty as a way to deal with the illegal alien crisis.
And let's not forget that Romney's two main rivals, Giuliani and Huckabee, both support and openly endorse a huge amnesty and more benefits for illegals. Both Giuliani and Huckabee (and all the Dems) would be TERRIBLE on illegal immigration and would no doubt try to shove a huge amnesty down our throats. Please, don't get distracted.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

How can Romney run on the premise he's for enforcing the laws when he's breaking them himself. Pretty hyprocritical, I'd say. He also didn't have the view he has now. I saw a clip of an interview done a few years ago and he said he thought illegals here should be able to get legal status. Now he disagrees with that idea. He also changed his mind about abortion. Romney's as limp and whishy washy as the rest of them. Funny how these candidates will say whatever people want to hear to get elected. And they say Fred Thompson is the only actor in the running.

Well, he's not breaking the laws himself. And, unlike Giuliani, Romney did something about illegal immigration while in office. Bottom line, Romney is not perfect but if the choice comes down to between him, Giuliani or Huckabee for the GOP nomination, Romney is the best of the three (as he has publicly said that enforcing the law is the way to deal with illegal immigrants and does not support amnesty like the other two).
