• NOTE TO ILLEGAL ALIEN PERVERTS: DON'T RAPE IN OKLAHOMA! OK - Illegal immigrant sentenced to life in prison for 2006 rape

A former "Tulsa's Most Wanted" has been sentenced to life in prison for a rape committed more than six years ago.

Juan Gabriel Choxmis, a native of Guatemala, indicated in a sentencing report that he entered the United States illegally in 2002 and that he expects to be deported to Guatemala.

Choxmis, 31, was charged in September 2006 with the first-degree rape of a 23-year-old woman on Dec. 24, 2005, records show.

He was accused of raping a neighbor at a Tulsa apartment complex.

The woman indicated that he attacked her and raped her while her two small children slept in their beds in the next room, court records show.

Choxmis did not make a Tulsa County court appearance in the case until 2011.

Last month, he waived his right to a trial and entered an Alford Plea to the rape charge.

In an Alford Plea, a defendant can maintain that he is innocent but allow a court to pronounce him guilty.

On Tuesday, District Judge Bill Musseman sentenced Choxmis to life in prison.

On Wednesday, Choxmis filed a motion requesting that he be allowed to withdraw his plea, contending that it was ''not knowing, voluntary and intelligent," records show.

Musseman scheduled a July 11 hearing on that motion.

In a sentencing report, Choxmis indicated that he was coming back from Guatemala to this country in 2010 when he was arrested by a Border Patrol agent.

He has been in the Tulsa Jail since February 2011.

A jail website indicates that he is subject to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.
