A taxpayer-funded virus lab in Colorado has confirmed a spate of 50 safety control lapses between 2020 and 2023, including workers bitten by COVID-infected hamsters, splashed with tuberculosis-infected mouse blood and scratched by rabid cats, yet the public was kept in the dark until a Freedom of Information Act request forced the university to release exclusive documents.At the same time, a separate whistleblower letter alleges that an NIH-funded scientist at Montana’s Rocky Mountain Laboratories attempted to smuggle “dozens of vials” of foreign viruses onto U.S. soil from Africa, prompting a cover-up that HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has reportedly referred to the FBI.
These two cases, unfolding hundreds of miles apart, lay bare a disturbing pattern: dangerous gain of function research continues behind closed doors; public trust is treated as expendable; and the institutions supposed to protect Americans are importing, concealing and normalizing biological risk.

The Colorado lab: a spate of breaches hidden from the public

The Colorado State University facility in Fort Collins, a city of roughly 168,000 people, has been a premier research site for studying bats since the 1980s and is regarded as a leading institution in infectious disease studies. Yet the documents uncovered by the Daily Mail show a string of accidents that undermine that reputation. Twelve researchers were bitten by mice carrying hemorrhagic fever. One researcher contracted Zika virus after experimenting with infected mosquitoes. Workers were splashed in the face with tuberculosis-infected mouse blood. Rabid cats scratched staff members. In nearly every case, the public was kept in the dark about potential health risks.
Dr. Bryce Nichols, commenting on the matter for the Daily Mail, noted that “dozens of laboratory accidents at CSU have become known only because of a public records request.” This lack of transparency is deeply concerning and underscores a disturbing trend in research ethics. Researchers have an ethical obligation to report any lab accidents that could pose risks to the public, but this does not always occur due to a combination of dishonesty and unethical behavior. The university has attempted to deflect blame for these incidents by citing stress from the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet it is worth noting that COVID-19 originated in a laboratory setting similar to this one, meaning they are blaming their own unsafe and unethical practices on an event potentially caused by such behavior.
The USDA also found feces and decaying food accumulating in areas designated for horses, cows and sheep at the facility. Dead sheep were reportedly killed by predatory animals, raising questions about what exactly happened there. Given these circumstances, it is clear that this laboratory poses a significant risk to public health and safety.
The Montana smuggling case: an alleged cover-up reaches the FBI

Just as the Colorado revelations destabilized confidence in university-based pathogen research, a separate whistleblower letter has landed on the desks of senators and federal investigators. The letter, obtained by the White Coat Waste Project and first reported by Laura Loomer, alleges that Vincent Munster, the Virus Ecology Section Chief at NIH’s Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Hamilton, Montana, attempted to bring “dozens of vials” containing viral hemorrhagic fever samples into the U.S. from the Democratic Republic of Congo in January. The whistleblower claims Munster lied to customs agents in Detroit, telling them the vials contained “science stuff” and “reagents,” but later told RML biosurety staff they were “DNA samples.”
The letter further alleges that NIH officials in Bethesda, Maryland, “did not inform the RML campus and went into full cover-up mode.” The NIH confirmed that RML recorded “theft, loss, or release of a pathogen” twice in the past year, but did not initially disclose that one incident allegedly involved an employee being bitten by a lab-infected monkey, according to Justin Goodman of White Coat Waste. That employee, the whistleblower claims, was “flown out” to avoid suspicion after being exposed to Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, a highly fatal virus.
Sen. Tim Sheehy, R-Mont., has asked HHS Inspector General March Bell to immediately review “safety, security, and personnel practices at RML,” warning that “even small lapses could put Montana communities at risk.” Sheehy wrote on X, “We don’t want Montana to be the next Wuhan.” Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., also called for answers, saying, “This is very scary, and we need to find out what happened.”
Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., told Just the News, “Secretive monkey lab accidents and virus smuggling scandals sound like something ripped straight from Anthony Fauci’s playbook, yet somehow this dangerous madness is still happening.” The NIH has not commented on the smuggling allegations beyond confirming that Munster and his colleague Claude Kwe Yinda were placed on leave. The FBI declined to comment.
A pattern of deception or a systemic failure?

These incidents mirror earlier controversies involving the same network of researchers. Rocky Mountain Laboratories has been a partner in the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s 2018 DEFUSE project, which proposed creating a chimeric coronavirus. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., examined Munster’s connection to DEFUSE in a 2024 probe and said Munster’s involvement appeared to conflict with Fauci’s testimony that NIH was not aware of the project. Meanwhile, University of North Carolina virologist Ralph Baric, another DEFUSE collaborator, is retiring from UNC while facing federal debarment proceedings. NIH removed Baric from his grants citing an apparent “pattern of deception” involving the nature of his research and whether it was gain-of-function work.
The Colorado State University lab also collaborated with Rocky Mountain Laboratories on an NIH-funded bat lab whose bio-safety committee documented more than 60 lab accidents between 2020 and 2023. The two labs share personnel, funding streams and research priorities. The question now facing Congress and the public is whether these failures represent isolated mistakes or a systemic culture of concealment.
One thing is certain: the public cannot rely on these institutions to self-report. It took a FOIA request to expose Colorado State University’s 50 incidents. It took a whistleblower letter amplified by an activist group to trigger an FBI referral in Montana. Without persistent outside pressure, the full scope of these risks may never come to light.

This is a moment in history that we will remember for a long time to come. Even though we were told over and over again that a deal with Iran was almost “finalized”, the truth is that there never was going to be a deal with Iran. It was all smoke and mirrors. The U.S. couldn’t give Iran what it was demanding, and Iran simply refused to give the U.S. what it was demanding. Now negotiations have totally collapsed, and it appears that the war is back on. Needless to say, this is going to be absolutely devastating for the global economy.

The Iranians are absolutely furious that Israeli troops have been advancing deep into Lebanese territory during the ceasefire period, and they are identifying that as the primary reason why they have decided to pull out of talks with the United States…
Iran negotiators will stop exchanging messages with the U.S. through intermediaries, and Tehran will move to fully close the Strait of Hormuz, in retaliation for ongoing ceasefire violations, Iran’s state-affiliated news outlet Tasnim said Monday.
The report, in a translated post on the social media site Telegram, homed in on Israel’s military operations in Lebanon against the Iran-backed militia Hezbollah.
“No dialogue will take place” until Israel fully withdraws from occupied areas in Lebanon and stops all attacks in both Lebanon and Gaza, per Tasnim.

Israel will stop shooting as long as Hezbollah agrees to stop sending attack drones into northern Israel.
But there is no way that we are going to see the IDF completely pull out of Lebanon.
If the Iranians are waiting for that to happen, they will be waiting for a really, really long time.
The Iranians are alleging that the U.S. naval blockade of the Iranian coastline is also a violation of the ceasefire, and they want that to end too.

President Trump has vowed to keep that blockade going until a deal is finally reached, and so the Iranians are not going to get that either.
So it appears that any hope for a deal is completely dead, and the Iranians apparently intend to “completely block the Strait of Hormuz and activate other fronts including the Bab al-Mandeb Strait”…
“Also, the resistance front and Iran have resolved to completely block the Strait of Hormuz and activate other fronts including the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, in order to punish the Zionists and their supporters,” the report said.
The Bab el-Mandeb Strait is a trade chokepoint that connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden.
Since the war began, Saudi Arabia has still been able to export quite a bit of oil by sending it via pipeline to ports on the Red Sea.
But if the Bab al-Mandeb Strait is also closed, the Saudis won’t be able to export any oil at all.

Last week, I published an article that discussed the fact that global oil inventories have already been dropping at the fastest pace ever recorded.
Shutting down the Bab al-Mandeb Strait would dramatically accelerate the depletion of existing supplies.
In other words, we are about to enter unprecedented territory.
Once news broke that the Iranians were cutting off negotiations, the price of oil rose by quite a bit on Monday…
The price of oil rose sharply on Monday, after Iranian government-aligned media reported that the country was cutting off talks with the United States to end the ongoing war.
U.S. crude oil soared as much as 8.5% to nearly $95 per barrel, an increase of almost $8. International Brent crude climbed as much as 7.3% to more than $97 per barrel, a $6 spike.
Heating oil, a proxy for jet fuel, also rose 7%, while wholesale gas prices rose 4%.
Of course this is just the beginning.
If the crisis in the Middle East is not resolved, the price of oil is going to go absolutely haywire.
A few days ago, the CEO of Chevron made some very alarming comments that have received a lot of attention…

That is what made Chevron CEO Mike Wirth’s remarks at the Bernstein 42nd Annual Strategic Decisions Conference on May 28, 2026, so striking.
He wasn’t hedging.
“The buffers and the shock absorbers are being steadily drawn down, and the ability for the market to absorb this imbalance is drastically diminished today versus where we started,” Wirth said, according to Seeking Alpha.
He is exactly correct.
We are in a far worse position today than we were when this war began.
And Wirth is projecting that the months of June and July could represent a major turning point…
Wirth went further: “Over the next few weeks, we’re likely to see those pressures flow through more directly to physical prices, and there’s more upwards pressure that I would expect as we get into June and certainly into July.”
That is a specific, directional warning from the CEO of one of the world’s largest energy companies. The Iran war has been grinding through global oil reserves for more than ten weeks. The cushion that absorbed the initial shock is nearly gone. And the data is starting to confirm what Wirth is describing.

All along there was hope that we would be bailed out by a deal between the Iranians and the Trump administration.
But now the rug has been pulled out from underneath our feet.
Exxon Senior Vice-President Neil Chapman recently warned that once inventory levels start hitting critical levels, we could see the price of oil soar to 150 dollars or 160 dollars a barrel…



There have been others that have warned that the price of oil could soon hit 180 dollars a barrel.
It is difficult to project exactly how high the price of oil will go, because we have never faced anything like this before.
And the higher the price of oil goes, the worse it is going to be for the global economy.
Of course the collapse of negotiations is also really bad news for our farmers, because now there is no end in sight for the global fertilizer crisis…
The effective closure of the strait of Hormuz has throttled global supplies of fertilizer, as well as oil. So far, the effect on consumers has been mostly felt as high prices at the gas pump, but global food supply chains, from seed to grocery shelf, tend to have longer lags. On May 7, John Denton, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce warned during an interview with Forbes TV that the fertilizer shortage could cause deadly food scarcity and price hikes.
In April, a statement by the American Farm Bureau Federation said that around 70% of U.S. farmers report being unable to afford all the fertilizer they need. The AFBF’s Fertilizer Availability Survey of nearly 6,000 farmers and ranchers across the country also found that nearly six in 10 U.S. farmers report worsening finances, because of rising fertilizer and fuel costs during spring planting.

We had one shot at avoiding a horrifying global economic implosion.
We desperately needed the Strait of Hormuz to be reopened, and that isn’t going to happen.

The Mask Is Off: We Are Heading Toward Engineered Depopulation

I have warned for years that the elites driving global policy are not merely incompetent -- they are executing a deliberate depopulation agenda. The COVID-19 pandemic was their test run for mass behavioral control and biological warfare. Now the same architects are leveraging the Strait of Hormuz crisis and fertilizer scarcity to accelerate mass starvation, especially in vulnerable nations.
Catherine Austin Fitts warned that the Strait of Hormuz shutdown signals “COVID 2.0” and engineered famine [1]. The global fertilizer shortage means the spring planting season will see diminished crop yields in the northern hemisphere [2]. This is not accidental. It is the next phase of a plan to reduce global population and install a technocratic surveillance state. As I have reported repeatedly, Agenda 21 explicitly lays out the framework for centralizing control over human life, including the elimination of property rights and the culling of “surplus” populations [3].
The goal is to reduce humanity from billions to perhaps 500 million, ruled by a digital ID and a central bank digital currency. And here is the hard truth that most Americans refuse to see: Donald Trump, whom many hoped would be the spoiler of this globalist plan, has seemingly become a willing accomplice. He is not the savior; he is speeding up the very machine he claimed to fight. The same forces that used fake climate narratives to justify energy lockdowns are now using war in the Middle East to justify food rationing. This is the engineered collapse, and it is accelerating.
Trump’s Role: From Spoiler to Enabler of the Globalist Agenda

In 2020, Trump was at least an obstacle to the globalist agenda. He resisted some lockdowns and spoke out against the WHO. But since taking office again in January 2025, he has fully embraced the technocratic surveillance state. As Chris Hedges wrote, Trump’s catastrophic miscalculation in Iran and refusal to accept defeat is pushing us toward a global depression [5]. The Strait of Hormuz remains closed, diesel prices have soared, and the war drags on without an exit strategy.
Both parties serve the same uni-party. The midterm elections are theater; the real power lies with globalist entities that discard leaders when they become liabilities. Trump is now the enforcer of the very system he once claimed to dismantle. His administration sends thousands of additional troops to the Middle East to pressure Iran [6], while ignoring the fact that energy shortages are structurally embedded in global markets irrespective of any near-term resolution [7]. This is not leadership; it is a suicide pact for the American people.
The Shadow Civilization: Why Most Americans Don’t See the Coming Collapse

The findings corroborate earlier allegations from Sudanese officials, including Lt. Gen. Yasser al-Atta, who has accused the UAE of bankrolling the RSF and supplying weapons to wage what he described as a race war aimed at eliminating African tribes and consolidating Arab dominance.
Evidence of Emirati complicity mounts

Human Rights Watch researcher Joey Shea detailed the direct connections between Colombian contractors and grave abuses on the ground. "We also found linkages between the Colombian contractors and grave abuses on the ground," Shea told Middle East Eye. "So one contractor who I spoke to told me that he helped to support the training of child soldiers, boys as young as 13-14 years old."
The relationship between the UAE and Colombian mercenaries dates back to at least 2011, according to the report. Shea noted that Abu Dhabi ruler Mohammed bin Zayed had been building a "foreign legion" of up to 800 Colombian private contractors to be part of the UAE armed forces.
"One private, retired contractor with whom we spoke said that he was part of that recruitment drive and he told us that there was nothing clandestine about this operation, that it was very public, that he received a proper work contract to be in the UAE," Shea added.
A report by Yale's Humanitarian Research Lab in March corroborated UN allegations of genocide in Darfur, finding that the RSF waged a campaign of starvation against the city of el-Fasher, razing dozens of farming villages and devastating crop production. Once the RSF stormed into the city, fighters raped, executed and extorted residents in large numbers.
Sudan's ambassador to the U.K., Babikir Elamin, has stated that "UAE support is the most significant factor in prolonging and enabling the genocide in Darfur." The UAE has provided the RSF with drones, heavy artillery and armored personnel carriers. U.S. intelligence reports confirm the UAE's role in arming the RSF, allegedly to secure access to Sudan's gold reserves and Red Sea coastline.
British-made weapons found

Sudan has submitted evidence to the UN Security Council, including satellite images and video footage, showing British-made military equipment used by the RSF in mass killings. This includes targeting devices and vehicle engines manufactured in the United Kingdom.
The presence of Colombians in Sudan first became public through videos posted on social media in November 2024, showing an armed group associated with the Sudanese Armed Forces intercepting a convoy of Colombians who had entered Sudan from Libya.

President Donald Trump signed a new executive order on Friday, officially rescinding a pair of 1970s-era directives that restricted the use of off-road vehicles on federal lands.

The order eliminates Executive Order 11644, issued by President Richard Nixon in 1972, and Executive Order 11989, issued by President Jimmy Carter in 1977.

Both historical orders required federal agencies to create strict criteria to minimize the environmental impact, wildlife disruption, and noise conflicts caused by off-road vehicles on public property.

In the text of the new order, Trump stated that his administration has “eliminated a record number of unnecessary regulations to further our Nation’s prosperity and reduce regulatory burdens on industries critical to our national and economic security while keeping sufficient environmental protections in place.”

The administration argued that the 50-year-old rules relied on “vague, subjective criteria” that ultimately created “barriers to energy and timber production and utility maintenance, permit delays, and de facto bans on hiking and other forms of recreation that require accessing remote areas.”

Under the new directive, federal land management will instead rely on a network of existing statutory laws passed by Congress. These include the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act, the National Historic Preservation Act, and the Federal Land Policy and Management Act. Trump determined that these modern statutory frameworks provide enough oversight to manage federal land “without retaining the additional specific designation criteria” of the previous executive orders.

The White House stated that the policy shift is intended to give the public more freedom to use public property, writing that the rollback “would facilitate the replacement of current regulations with a system for off-road vehicle use designation that provides more access, recreational opportunities, and greater multiple use benefits to the public.”

As a direct result of the signing, the heads of several federal departments—including the Department of the Interior, the Department of Agriculture, and the Tennessee Valley Authority—have been ordered to immediately begin the formal rulemaking process to rewrite or rescind any current agency regulations that were originally set up to enforce the 1970s restrictions.

Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman was murdered by Venezuelan illegal alien Jose Medina-MedinaIn March, 18-year-old Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman was shot and killed near the Chicago campus by one of Joe Biden’s illegals.

The masked gunman approached a group of students walking in the Rogers Park neighborhood and opened fire, shooting Gorman in the head. She died at the scene.

A few days after the murder, it was confirmed that the masked gunman who killed Gorman is a 25-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela who entered the US under the Biden Regime.

Police took Jose Medina-Medina into custody, facing charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and weapons charges.

Now, Medina is facing new charges after being found with a weapon in jail.

According to CBS News, Sheriff Tom Dart said staff found a six-inch shank in his possession around 8 a.m. Thursday.

Per CBS:

After staff at the Cook County Jail were tipped off about the shank, they searched him and found a sharpened piece of metal with a handle made of medical tape in his pants pocket, Dart said.

Medina has been in custody since March 23 as he awaits trial for Gorman’s death.

Friday, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved a felony charge of possession of contraband in a penal institution Friday.

Earlier this month, President Trump invited Sheridan’s family to speak at a rally in Suffern, New York.

Gorman’s mother and father shared the stage with her sister and another young woman, both of whom were holding pictures of Sheridan. Both parents questioned how local leaders could let this happen to their young daughter and why the fight to protect American citizens “belongs to only one party.”

“She was gunned down by an illegal alien monster in cold blood,” Trump told the crowd at Rockland Community College.

“This savage animal, who stole Sheridan’s life, entered illegally from Venezuela and was released into our country by Crooked Joe Biden, and that whole Biden administration of thieves and criminals. President Trump kept his promise to seal the border when he resumed office in January 2025. Since then, illegal border crossings have been down over 99 percent.

The previous four years under Biden’s open border policy resulted in an estimated 15 million illegal aliens entering the country. This crisis has kept law enforcement agencies like the Texas DPS constantly working to arrest illegals and smugglers.

Texas DPS went on a high-speed chase with a human smuggler carrying six illegal aliens earlier this week in Maverick County.

After the DPS trooper used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle, which was a Jeep Grand Cherokee, the smuggler, Yoisdelvis Nunez Acosta, made an attempt to hide in the brush but was captured. He was reported to be from Cuba.

DPS troopers also found another vehicle involved in the smuggling operation acting as a scout vehicle.

Alexander Rodriguez Acosta was driving a red RAM 1500 pickup truck. Both men were arrested for human smuggling.

Air support was also provided by DPS Aircraft Operations.

There were six illegal aliens in the vehicle from Mexico and Vietnam. Troopers handed over all six illegals to the Border Patrol.

California has blown $49 million from its cap-and-trade slush fund to install free solar panels, new refrigerators, windows, and other energy upgrades on the homes of illegal alien farmworkers, all while legal residents, seniors, and veterans face skyrocketing energy bills and waitlists for basic assistance.

The program, officially the Farmworker Housing Component of the Low-Income Weatherization Program (LIWP Farmworker), explicitly welcomes illegal aliens with zero requirement for legal citizenship status.

According to a bombshell report from City Journal, California’s Department of Community Services and Development (CSD) openly acknowledges in its own documentation that non-citizens are eligible and that the program accepts foreign government identification, including the widely used Mexican matrícula consular card issued to migrants who crossed the border illegally.

Program contractors have confirmed this on Spanish-language radio and to investigators, “Participants do not need ‘legal status’ in the United States.”

Launched in 2019, the program is funded through California’s multibillion-dollar cap-and-trade scheme.
This system slaps extra taxes on carbon producers, driving up gas prices by at least 20 cents per gallon, and funnels roughly $3 billion annually into “green energy” and left-wing social spending.

So far, $49 million has been earmarked specifically for farmworker weatherization.

Only about 2,000 families have actually received the upgrades after nearly seven years. That works out to a staggering $23,000 per household for free solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, refrigerators, water heaters, windows, insulation, and other perks, all installed at zero cost to the recipient.

The state selected La Cooperativa Campesina de California, a nonprofit that claims to serve farmworkers, as the program administrator with an initial award of at least $10.7 million.

La Cooperativa then partnered with MAROMA Energy Services, a self-described “minority owned” for-profit company, which has received nearly $34 million from the nonprofit since 2017 for “weatherization services.”

Contractors under MAROMA actually perform the installations.

These organizations have aggressively marketed the taxpayer-funded freebies directly into California’s massive agricultural workforce of nearly 900,000 workers, of whom half to three-quarters are estimated to be in the country illegally.

Outreach includes sending representatives into farmworker communities and running Spanish-language radio spots to verify eligibility for non-citizens.

While illegal aliens get rooftop solar panels courtesy of California taxpayers, the state’s legal residents face some of the highest electricity rates in the nation, rolling blackouts, and endless green mandates that drive up costs.

Veterans, seniors on fixed incomes, and working-class families often cannot qualify for similar assistance or face long delays.

On May 29, 2026, in Modesto, California, Joaquin Escoto, 28, a Mexican national and illegal immigrant, was arrested and charged with three counts of murder.

He allegedly stabbed to death Fabiola Gonzalez, 23, a devoted mother, her own mother, and loving grandmother Silvia Nuńez, 54, and Fabiola’s 2-week-old infant son, Mateo Gonzalez.

A surviving child of approximately 4 years old was found in the home and taken into custody by Child Protective Services.

According to The California Post, California’s controversial state sanctuary law obstructed federal authorities who sought to deport him.

The New York Post reports:

On the day of Escoto’s DUI arrest in June, which occurred in San Joaquin County, federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials requested to be notified of the Modesto resident’s release from jail so they could deport him again, according to the official.

But San Joaquin law enforcement officials hogtied by California’s contested sanctuary law failed to notify the feds, and Escoto was set free, the official said.

“Safe to say, California law prohibited the jail from complying,” said the official, who shared police documents that substantiated his claims with The Post.

Now, less than one year after that request from ICE agents was ignored, Escoto is being held without bail on three counts of murder in the grisly knife slaying in Modesto of an infant and two women, including one with whom he allegedly had a child, according to police.

SEC Moves to Repeal Rule That Requires Companies to Report Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Climate Risk
In the latest action to undo Biden-era regulations on climate change, the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday proposed repealing a rule that requires some public companies to report their greenhouse gas emissions and the risks they face from global warming.
The climate-disclosure rule has been on hold since last year, after the Republican-led commission said it was pausing its legal defense after legal challenges by business groups and Republican state attorneys general.
The SEC said in a statement that it is now moving to rescind the disclosure rules “in their entirety because they exceed the scope of the agency’s statutory authority.” The rules, finalized in 2024, “impose substantial costs on public companies and their shareholders that are not justified by the informational benefits they may provide to some investors,” the commission said.
Eliminating the rule will “avoid the practical effect of dictating corporate behavior” and ensure that agency rules will “be imposed only when the expected benefits justify the likely costs and burdens,” SEC Chairman Paul Atkins said in a statement.
Obviously, this is mean because it’s OK for a Democrat to get rid of all the Bad rules from a Republican, but, not OK in the reverse.
Environmental groups said the action would leave investors without data they need to accurately assess financial risks and other hazards related to climate change.
“The SEC’s mission is to protect investors and the public by ensuring they have access to material information,” said Kathy Fallon, director of land systems at the nonprofit Clean Air Task Force. “While imperfect, the rule was an important step toward giving investors consistent information about financially material climate risks, including the use of carbon offsets.”
Blah blah blah, all for a scam for which they don’t practice what they preach. What benefit is the Clean Air Task Force doing for commerce? They produce nothing.

Trump Squeezes Immigrants by Cutting Them Off From Jobs, Healthcare and Housing
For nearly three decades, Raquel Molina — an immigrant from El Salvador who has a valid Social Security number and permission to work in the United States — swabbed the toilets, wiped down the seats and vacuumed the aisles of airplanes at Boston’s Logan International Airport.
But last summer, Ms. Molina, 65, was abruptly fired from her $19.75-per-hour cleaning job, alongside dozens of other immigrants who have long legally worked at Logan. Her supervisor told her she no longer had clearance to enter secure areas at the airport. The Trump administration had decided that only U.S. citizens, green card holders and others with more permanent forms of residency should be granted access, according to a lawsuit that a labor union filed in federal court.
“I didn’t understand what was going on,” said Ms. Molina, who has been living legally in the United States under Temporary Protected Status, a humanitarian program that shelters people from troubled countries until they can safely return home. “I had worked hard at my job. This news put me in a state of shock.”
“Temporary” doesn’t mean almost 30 years. It means here temporarily then you leave. If you don’t want to go back to El Salvador, you can go elsewhere.
For more than a year, administration officials have sought to pull every bureaucratic lever possible to cut off immigrants — both documented and undocumented — from jobs, medical care, financial services, tax credits and even from enrolling their children in day care. The goal has been to compel immigrants to leave the country, and, in the long run, to eliminate incentives that draw many people to the United States in the first place.
Interestingly, if you are going through the citizenship process you have to prove you can take care of yourself. You don’t have access to government programs. Most on a work or student visa are not eligible, either.
The initiative underscores the president’s ability to reshape immigration policy through executive orders and the vast power of federal regulations while sidestepping Congress. And it shows how the administration has pursued more creative — and lower-profile — tactics after Mr. Trump’s militarized deportation raids into major cities prompted political backlash earlier this year.
Everything the Trump admin is doing is based on previously passed laws by duly elected Congresses. If Congress wanted to do something they could step in and pass laws.
The changes range from structural shifts in the immigration system to small-scale, regulatory tweaks taking away jobs or services from just a few thousand people like Ms. Molina. In her case, the administration no longer considered T.P.S. a form of “authorized residency,” said Justin Long, a spokesman for Customs and Border Protection, meaning Ms. Molina could not be “given official government credentials and granted unescorted access to secure airport areas.”
The U.S. is not the dumping ground for every sorry sack from around the world. Ms. Molina had a long time to apply for citizenship, or even permanent residency (why the f*** do we have people living in the US getting all the benefits as “permanent residents”?).
The administration’s strategy, along with the threat of arrest and imprisonment, has helped drive many immigrants underground, intimidating them from filing taxes, visiting doctors and even traveling. So far, more than 116,000 people without permanent legal status have voluntarily left the United States, including some through a government self-deportation program, according to internal Department of Homeland Security figures reviewed by The New York Times. Many others are believed to have departed without telling the government.
And boom, there it is: all this drives these people living off the backs of US citizens out of the country. I wonder how many went back to their home countries? And this keeps oh so many from trying to come to the US illegally.
But this year, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services proposed a rule that would effectively prevent people seeking asylum from receiving work permits. The move could be hugely consequential: Over the last fiscal year, more than two million asylum seekers received or renewed their permits, according to federal data.
Darn.

Geochemical testing revealed that the inner layers of the stromatolites showed the strongest hydrothermal signals, suggesting the microbial structures formed when the crater lake was at its hottest shortly after the impact. "We identified multiple stromatolites buried within the impact site, each measuring roughly three to seven inches wide," the researchers reported. The structures were discovered in the northwestern section of the crater and are believed to have formed in a post-impact hydrothermal lake environment.
Scientists used radiocarbon dating to estimate the ages of the stromatolites, but the results revealed a bizarre anomaly. In one stromatolite, the innermost layer was estimated to be about 23,000 years old, while the outer layers appeared even older at roughly 28,000 years old before becoming younger again near the surface at around 14,600 years old. The researchers found similar patterns in several other stromatolites at the site.
The team believes this strange age reversal occurred because the microbial structures absorbed ancient carbon from the crater lake and surrounding rocks, making some layers appear older than they actually were. The dates are therefore considered rough estimates rather than exact ages, but the findings suggest the stromatolites formed over thousands of years inside the warm hydrothermal lake.
Dr. Jaesoo Lim, lead author of the study, said: "This is the first comprehensive evidence suggesting that stromatolites could form in hydrothermal lakes created by asteroid impacts. Such environments may have provided favorable conditions for early microbial ecosystems."
The discovery is fueling speculation about one of the most pivotal moments in Earth's history: the Great Oxidation Event, which occurred around 2.4 billion years ago when oxygen levels in the atmosphere suddenly surged. The researchers suspect the asteroid impact may have created hot, mineral-rich lakes where oxygen-producing microbes flourished in isolated pockets they describe as oxygen oases.
These oxygen-rich pockets may have helped early microbial life survive and spread at a time when much of Earth's atmosphere still lacked oxygen. In other words, violent asteroid collisions may not have only brought destruction, they may have helped create the conditions needed for life to spread.
Martian craters may be hiding the answer

The findings also have profound implications for the search for life beyond Earth. Because scientists believe Mars once contained water-filled impact craters similar to Hapcheon, researchers say ancient Martian craters could be among the best places to search for signs of past alien life.
The asteroid itself, researchers concluded, evolved over billions of years by picking up water molecules and organic matter from foreign materials. After re-accreting, it went through extreme heating, dehydration, rehydration and contamination with organics.
"These findings are really exciting as they reveal complex details about an asteroid's history and how its evolutionary pathway is so similar to that of the prebiotic Earth," said one researcher. Dr. Michael Wong, an astrobiologist and study co-author, emphasized the broader significance: "Understanding when photosynthesis emerged helps explain how Earth's atmosphere became oxygen-rich, a key milestone that allowed complex life, including humans, to evolve."
While promising, the method isn't foolproof. Some samples, particularly those heated above 400°C, lost their biotic signals. Future research will expand the dataset, including more ancient animal fossils and diverse abiotic materials. The team also plans to test rocks from Mars-like deserts and analyze anoxygenic photosynthetic bacteria, which could resemble potential extraterrestrial life.
The study suggests that if hydrothermal crater lakes once existed on Mars, they may have created similar environments capable of supporting microbial ecosystems billions of years ago, meaning the answer to whether we are alone in the universe may be buried inside craters, waiting to be uncovered.

It added: "Instead, they are intended as a benchmark for understanding the scale of commercial value associated with personal data and the extent to which that value is captured by companies rather than users." Protesters Arrested at Immigration Detention Center as Tensions Rise
A group of demonstrators was arrested late Wednesday outside an immigration detention center in Newark after nearly a week of protests over living conditions at the facility that have been described as filthy and inhumane.
The day after the arrests, relatives of detainees at Delaney Hall and advocates for immigrants said that incarcerated migrants were being beaten and subjected to pepper spray following a hunger strike by some inmates.
For months, many detainees have complained to family members and elected officials about rotten food and inadequate medical care at Delaney Hall, which is overseen by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. Democratic officials in New Jersey have focused on the issue and toured the facility, echoing the concerns raised by inmates. (snip)
In a statement, the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, said that about 100 protesters had gathered around Delaney Hall late Wednesday and that some had thrown objects at federal agents. Six were arrested and accused of assaulting law enforcement officers.
The agency said that local police officials had not intervened. The Newark Department of Public Safety did not answer inquiries about the protests.
“Assaulting and obstructing ICE law enforcement is a crime and felony,” the Department of Homeland Security said. “Anyone who assaults law enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Contamination from the catastrophic chemical tank failure at a southwest Washington pulp and paper mill has flowed into the Columbia River, officials confirmed Wednesday, opening a troubling new chapter in what could become the region’s deadliest industrial accident in modern history.

As crews continued recovery operations Wednesday for nine missing workers, state and federal agencies were assessing the environmental fallout from Tuesday’s explosion and chemical release at the Nippon Dynawave Packaging Company mill in Longview. Authorities say the accident released more than half a million gallons of “white liquor,” a highly caustic industrial chemical used in paper production.

The spill happened after a massive storage tank failed during a morning shift change, sending an estimated 550,000 to 570,000 gallons of chemical slurry pouring through the mill complex and into nearby drainage systems, said Scott Goldstein, chief of the Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue district.

“Testing of water samples has confirmed contamination entered the Columbia River during the day yesterday,” Goldstein said. He added that environmental crews are now “working to classify or quantify that” and determine the extent of the damage.

The confirmation marks a significant development in the investigation and raises questions about the spill’s impact on fish, wetlands and the Northwest’s largest river system.

White liquor is a mix of sodium hydroxide and sodium sulfide used to break down wood chips in the kraft pulping process. It can cause severe chemical burns on contact, and in waterways can harm or kill aquatic life.

Brian Wood, director of support services for Nippon Dynawave Packaging, said some contaminated runoff flowed through the mill’s storm drains and diking ditches before eventually reaching the river. He said the mill’s own monitoring system detected spikes in pH levels — reflecting the alkaline chemical’s release — shortly after the blast.

“Our continuous monitoring for pH on our outfalls that go to the Columbia River showed spikes of high pH material,” Wood said.

He added that “approximately two or three hours later, there were two spikes of high pH material that went from our plant site to the Columbia River,” information the company reported to the environmental state regulators under its permit requirements.

Another stream of contaminated water spread into nearby ditches connected to the mill property. Wood said the spilled chemical mixed with water from broken fire lines and ran into the mill’s storm drains. From there, it flowed into a roadside ditch along State Route 432 and then into the larger drainage ditches managed by the local diking district.

Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson said crews have already recovered about a dozen dead carp from ditches connected to the mill property, an early sign of the spill’s ecological impact.

Despite the contamination, officials said Wednesday that testing has not found any problems with Longview’s air or drinking water.

Goldstein said there have been “no identified negative health impacts to the city, to the surrounding air quality or the city of Longview’s drinking water system.”

Officials said the U.S. Coast Guard, federal Environmental Protection Agency and Washington Department of Ecology will continue to sample water and monitor the Columbia River while crews will work to contain contaminated runoff in nearby industrial ditches and drainage channels.

They warned people to stay away from the dikes and ditches around the mill, where elevated pH levels in the water continue to pose concerns.

Goldstein said people should steer clear of the diking network north of Industrial Way, from Washington Way to Prudential Boulevard and toward Memorial Park Drive, where contaminated water still sits in the system.

Meanwhile, the human toll of the disaster continues to grow. Two people have died, seven workers are still hospitalized, and nine are still missing inside the damaged mill complex.

Century-scale solar activity patterns mark the onset of the next Little Ice Age cooling period.
Newly published research utilizing historical solar magnetic field phase analysis documents the impact of solar activity on Earth’s temperature.
Cold “Little Ice Age” periods can be reliably linked to Grand Solar Minima (GSM).
For example, during the Maunder Minimum (late 1600s to early 1700s), solar irradiance is thought to have declined by about 3 W/m˛, and consequently, the Northern Hemisphere cooled by approximately 1°C.
Based on pattern analysis, it may be assumed that the onset of the next GSM has arrived, and global cooling will occur over the next few decades.
It’s interesting, but, will it happen? Remember, we had concerns over a coming Holocene cool period (HCP) when rising temps went flat and even negative from the 50’s thru the late 70’s, and the Holocene warm period returned. We had the Big Pause. Eventually the world will go back to a HCP. That’s the nature of the Holocene period over the last 8,000 years. Cool warm cool warm. Will the world move into a true non-glacial period? Return to a glacial period? Time will tell. I will believe it when I see it, because there have been many times over the last 50 years when solar activity dropped. It’s like the current warming period: it’ll go where it goes. The illegal alien accused of murdering 18-year-old Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman in March of this year has been hit with additional charges after jail staff found him in possession of a shank in Cook County, Illinois.

As Breitbart News has chronicled, 25-year-old illegal alien Jose Medina-Medina of Venezuela was arrested by the Chicago Police Department and charged with murdering Sheridan Gorman in a random attack on a pier at Tobey Prinz Beach on March 19.

Prosecutors say Sheridan was with a group of friends on the pier when she noticed Medina-Medina hiding with a mask on his face and a gun. When Sheridan and others in the group started running for safety, Medina-Medina allegedly fired the gun, shooting and killing the young woman, who was in her freshman year of college at Loyola University.

This week, while in Cook County Jail, Medina-Medina was caught with a 6-inch shank, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. The charges allege that when Medina-Medina was recently searched in jail, staff found a sharpened piece of metal in his pocket with a handle that had been fastened to it with tape.

The news comes as Sheridan’s parents, Thomas and Jessica Gorman, recently spoke during a rally in Rockland County, New York, hosted by President Donald Trump.

Jessica Gorman said her daughter planned to see the Northern Lights alongside her friends the night she was murdered.

“She never got to see those lights. Instead, her life was stolen by a man who should have never been in this country, a man who never should have been set free in that community,” Jessica Gorman said.

“And every step the system had a chance to stop him and at every step, the system failed. And my daughter paid for those failures with her life.”

“No family should ever have to bury their child because public officials failed to put innocent American lives first,” Jessica Gorman continued.



“We did not just lose Sheridan, we lost our peace, we lost our future, we lost the life that we knew,” Thomas Gorman said. “And no family should have to become experts in immigration failures, release policies, warrants, sanctuary laws, enforcement breakdowns because their daughter was killed by someone who should not have been here and should not be free.”

Last month, Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee unveiled bombshell internal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) documents showing that agency officials released Medina-Medina into the United States interior in May 2023, despite knowing he did not have a valid asylum claim.

Under the direction of former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the documents reveal, Medina-Medina was released into the United States interior even though he had made no valid asylum claim, had no form of identification, provided no United States contact or address, and made clear he did not fear being returned to his native Venezuela.

Just a month after Medina-Medina’s release into the United States, in June 2023, he was arrested in Chicago, Illinois, for shoplifting. Thanks to the city and state’s sanctuary policies, Medina-Medina was not turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents following that arrest — a move that would have saved Sheridan’s life.

In a partnership dubbed “Operation 9,” federal, state and local law enforcement officers captured 249 illegal immigrants during a three-day sweep across Florida.

The effort represents an increasingly coordinated and successful operation in the state, aimed at arresting illegal aliens along Florida’s roadsides, according to an exclusive report Friday by Fox News Digital.

The effort is in sharp contrast with certain Democrat-run “sanctuary” states and cities which refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) teamed up with the other agencies, and the illegals were captured, processed and handed over to United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the outlet reported.

Many of those detained on the shoulders of South Florida highways were “ghosts,” Lt. Ramin Sulaiman, assistant commander of the FHP Immigration Enforcement Section, told Fox. “We have no records for them, no accountability of who they are.”

Sulaiman pointed out that more than 1 million immigrants who entered the United States illegally during the Biden administration told authorities at the border that they were headed to Florida and were then released.

“But that does not include all the ghosts, meaning the people that have no encounters [with law enforcement],” Sulaiman said. “They’re just here.”

It’s unknown if they have criminal histories and/or nefarious intentions, he said.

Florida’s illegal alien apprehension record is noteworthy.

Nearly 10,500 illegal immigrants have been gathered up since March 2025, Dave Kerner, executive director of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, told Fox News Digital.
Often they are found without a license during routine stops for driving infractions, leading to questions that reveal they are not citizens.

Trooper Tony Golden, who normally focuses on commercial vehicles in the six counties in Florida’s Panhandle, told the outlet that based on his encounters on the highways he believes the number of illegals in Florida is “astronomical.”

He bristles at the idea that patrolman are focused primarily on immigration enforcement or racially profiling stops, as critics have claimed.

“We are enforcing the law,” he said. “We don’t pick and choose what we want to enforce.”

Fox Digital rode along with troopers in the most recent operation.

According to the outlet:

During Operation 9, more than 100 officers huddled in groups before daybreak at an FHP station in Broward County. Gathered were troopers, agents from ICE and U.S. Border Patrol, deputies on specialty teams from the Broward Sheriff’s Office, officers with Florida’s Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, and guardsmen with the Florida State Guard.

During Operation 9, officers made frequent trips back to the station, guiding handcuffed men and women into an air-conditioned waiting area. There, they were patted down, processed for transfer to ICE and offered bottled water and snacks.

Later, most of those detained have a choice, Nestor Yglesias, a public affairs officer for ICE, told the outlet. They can opt for an arranged flight back home, or wait in custody for an immigration hearing
ICE determines whether an immigrant will pay for his or her flight out of the country or whether the U.S. government will foot the bill, Yglesias said. Some leave with a self-deportation incentive, up to $2,600 recently, he said.

The state has carried out eight other operations since October, officials said, thus giving the latest effort the “Operation 9” handle.

Seventeen Maryland county sheriffs have joined together to sue the state over a new law that gives sanctuary to illegals that the law officers say will make Maryland a more dangerous place to live.

Sheriff Jeffrey R. Gahler, of Harford County, Maryland, and sixteen other Maryland sheriffs, have joined with the in a lawsuit filed in a federal court to block the state’s newly passed “Community Trust Act” (SB0791).

“It is an intentional state-mandated obstruction of public safety,” Sheriff Gahler said about the new law.

“This law deliberately ties the hands of our dedicated local deputies, police officers and correctional officers. It forbids us from sharing information with federal authorities.”

“This issue, ladies and gentlemen, is not about politics. It’s about public safety. And, we believe this law directly hampers our ability to effectively safeguard the boundaries of our respective counties,” Worcester County Sheriff Matt Crisafulli added.

The new law passed in the House of Delegates 92-37 and in the state Senate 32-15 this week and became law without Democrat Gov. Wes Moore’s signature.

The Community Trust Act bans local cooperation with federal immigration officials and maintains that a felony conviction or a judicial warrant must be presented by immigration officers before local law enforcement can communicate with ICE about a suspect’s immigration status.

The lawsuit filed by the group of county sheriffs says that the state’s new law violates federal authority to implement legal immigration policy and is a violation of the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution. It also forces state law enforcement to break federal law by harboring illegal migrants.

In its press release on the lawsuit, FAIR says that “Maryland’s sanctuary law thereby makes it impossible to obey both federal law and state law, it presents a textbook case of conflict preemption.”

“Sanctuary laws are not only dangerous to our communities, but they are also flatly unconstitutional,” said Dale L. Wilcox, executive director and general counsel of FAIR. “Our nation must speak with one voice when dealing with the national problem of illegal immigration, and the federal government must be able to pursue a unified policy, or the supremacy of federal law is in name only. The aim of this lawsuit is to allow Maryland sheriffs to go on keeping their communities safe by striking down this law’s blatant interference with crucially important national objectives.”

Several other sheriffs also chimed in on the lawsuit and the new law.

“This is pathetic that our governor, our General Assembly, they have turned their backs on all Marylanders — partisan politics over public safety,” said Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis.

“Now, when their sentences are up or their trials are adjudicated, I’ve got to open my doors and allow these criminals (go), which includes defendants of second-degree rape, sexual abuse of minors, drug trafficking, aggravated assault and sexual solicitation of minors,” Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins.

Friday on CNN’s “The Arena,” Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) said he was “tired” of a Democratic Party that throws immigrants under the bus.

Host Kasie Hunt said, “When you did this interview with The Bulwark, you said this, quote, ‘No one who voted for the Laken Riley Act should have any role in the future leadership of the Democratic Party in this country. It’s disqualifying just like the Iraq War vote.’ Now, some of the people that voted for the Laken Riley Act — Ruben Gallego, Mark Kelly, Jon Ossoff, Raphael Warnock, Elissa Slotkin, you think all of those leaders should be disqualified from being the presidential nominee of the Democratic Party on that basis?”

Khanna said, “Well, they should have to explain at least why they voted for it. It was a terrible vote, and I didn’t mean to personalize it, but the reality is that it allowed for deportation without due process. And when Trump came in, we had Democrats voting for Laken Riley, and then you see ICE on the streets, engaged in mass deportation, separating kids from their parents. I guess as a son of immigrants, this is very personal for me.”

He added, “I am tired of a Democratic Party that apologizes for immigrants. I’m tired of a Democratic Party that throws immigrants under the bus. And I believe the Democratic Party should have a moral conviction that we’re not going to allow for this mass deportation. We should abolish ICE. We should have a new immigration enforcement agency. And so, yes, I do believe that that vote was a very, very problematic vote that led to Trump’s mass deportation.”
