The illegal killed himself before facing justice. The illegal Saul Godines Pena had open warrants for his arrest, and he issued threats to kill Joseph Poukish before he acted on those threats. The local law enforcement were aware of these threats and now the local law enforcement, in a blue Democrat run county, has been slow-walking the investigation.

The detective investigating his murder, Detective Castro of the Harris County Sheriff's Office, told the family that Saul (the illegal) shot my brother before the illegal took his own life. Joseph Poukish's murder is under HCSO 2604-10061. Joseph told his family the illegal Saul Godines Pena was in the country illegally after the illegal vandalized Josephs vehicle.

The old Soviet Union promised equality and delivered bread lines, secret police, prison camps, corruption, fear, and party bosses who lived better than everyone else.

Venezuela sat on enormous oil wealth, then socialist politicians wrecked the country so badly that millions fled because they could not find food, medicine, work, or basic stability.

Every time, the pitch is the same. The rich will pay. The government will provide. Nobody will be left behind.

Then the bill comes due. Nothing is free. Somebody pays. You pay through taxes, inflation, shortages, worse services, fewer choices, lower wages, and less opportunity.

And once the politicians control the money, they control the people.

CNN contributor Leigh McGowan is �exhausted� with hearing stories about illegal immigrants committing crimes like killing American citizens.

She made the comment during a recent panel discussion on the network, when conservative contributor Brianna Lyman was trying to make a valid point about what the liberal media covers and chooses not to cover.

Lyman was using as an example, a woman in Massachusetts who was strangled by an illegal immigrant just last week. McGowan rolled her eyes in disgust at the mere mention of it.

A CNN panel erupted Tuesday after far-left podcast host Leigh McGowan called repeated discussions of Americans killed by illegal immigrants �exhausting� after a conservative panelist raised the strangling death of Massachusetts woman Brianna Connolly by an illegal immigrant.

The panel was discussing the death of Pierre Damas Bel, a 20-year-old Haitian-born college student in Ohio whose family said he died by suicide Monday after being required to wear an ankle monitor after losing his Temporary Protected Status. Ohio State Highway Patrol said Bel died after walking into traffic on Interstate 70 and that the incident remained under investigation.

�Well, temporary does mean temporary, so eventually this individual may have been ordered to be removed,� The Federalist reporter Brianna Lyman said on the �NewsNight� panel. �I think it�s kind of insulting that we�re talking about this immigrant instead of Brianna Connolly from Massachusetts who was strangled last week by an illegal alien. Why is the focus never��

McGowan interrupted Lyman as she mentioned Connolly�s killing.

�Oh my God!� she said. �It�s so exhausting. Over and over again.�

Lyman immediately responded by contrasting McGowan�s frustration with the experiences of victims� families.

A federal judge on Wednesday blocked President Trump�s executive order ending birth tourism.

The other order bans birthright tourism, the practice by which people travel to the United States solely for the purpose of giving birth to a child on our soil.

President Trump, earlier this month, signed two executive orders on birthright citizenship and birth tourism, following the Supreme Court�s ruling against the Trump Administration�s executive order ending birthright citizenship.

During the Oval Office signing, Trump decried the �very, very unfortunate� Supreme Court decision, adding, �So we�re making adjustments because it�s very unfair.�

�This was done right after the Civil War. This was for the babies of slaves, and what�s happening now, people are building businesses around it,� Trump said. �Wealthy people are building businesses around birthright citizenship. That�s not the way it was supposed to work. It�s a disgrace. They�re buying their way in, and we�re not going to let it happen.�

On Wednesday, US District Judge Deborah Boardman, a Biden appointee, issued a preliminary injunction blocking Trump�s executive order.

A federal judge on Wednesday blocked the Trump administration from enforcing a new executive order limiting the number of people eligible for birthright citizenship that President Donald Trump issued after the U.S. Supreme Court *rejected his previous effort.

U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman in Greenbelt, Maryland, issued a preliminary injunction at the request of immigrant *rights advocates who had last year secured a ruling from her blocking the Trump administration from enforcing his initial 2025 executive order curtailing birthright citizenship.

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered:

Section 1. Purpose. United States citizenship is among the greatest inheritances the Nation can bestow. It embodies a sacred bond between the American people and the Nation in which they live, and carries profound rights, privileges, and responsibilities reflective of the enduring allegiance of citizens to the United States and our Constitution. Citizenship is not a commodity to be acquired through calculated exploitation and evasion of the immigration laws, such as by entering the United States on a nonimmigrant visa for the purpose of giving birth within the Nation�s borders.

Birth tourism operators use deceptive advertisements and inducements to entice foreign nationals to travel to the United States for the purpose of giving birth on American soil. They promise citizenship; access to public benefits; and short-term stays in specialized facilities, hotels, or rentals, but often fail to deliver on these promises. These operators coach their clients to misrepresent the purpose and duration of their travel to consular and border officials to obtain visas authorizing entry into the United States. Failure to appropriately combat these schemes has resulted in thriving industries around the world that profit by enabling the evasion of American immigration laws to obtain citizenship and other immigration benefits for foreign visitors, and the exploitation of the women who travel here for purposes of giving birth.

The immigration laws of the United States establish discrete categories of temporary nonimmigrant visas to allow foreign visitors into the United States for study, exchange, temporary employment, tourism, and other transitory activities that are now exploited by birth tourism operators. Participants in birth tourism schemes abuse these categories to establish a permanent foothold in the United States by securing the advantage of citizenship for their children and then potentially for themselves.

Birth tourism, defined in section 3 of this order, undermines the integrity of the Nation�s immigration system by enabling foreign nationals to exploit their temporary admission to obtain permanent immigration-related benefits. Birth tourism also diverts limited consular inspection and enforcement resources away from legitimate visa applicants, erodes public confidence in the faithful enforcement of the immigration laws, and impairs the executive branch�s ability to protect the national security.

The United States has a compelling interest in ensuring that each visa category is used only for the purpose for which it was established. Foreign nationals seeking temporary admission into the United States must adhere to the purposes for which the Congress has authorized their temporary admission, and cannot be permitted to circumvent the immigration laws in an attempt to vest themselves and their children with lasting benefits that are irreconcilable with their nonimmigrant status.

It is therefore the policy of the United States to promote the integrity of its immigration system, to ensure that nonimmigrant visa classifications are used only for their lawful and intended purposes, and to prevent the exploitation of those classifications by persons engaging in birth tourism.

Sec. 2. Authorities. Pursuant to section 301 of title 3, United States Code, the authority granted to the President under section 215(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, 8 U.S.C. 1185(a), is hereby delegated to the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Homeland Security to the extent necessary to implement this order, including the authority to issue or adopt rules, policies, operational guidance, or other guidance to carry out this order.

Sec. 3. Definition. For purposes of this order, �birth tourism� is defined as:

(a) the entry of any foreign national into the United States via a nonimmigrant visa for the purpose of giving birth on American soil; or

(b) any effort by any foreign national to facilitate the entry of any foreign national into the United States via a nonimmigrant visa for the purpose of giving birth on American soil.

Sec. 4. Scope and Implementation. (a) The Secretary of State and the Secretary of Homeland Security shall take such actions and update any rules, policies, operational guidance, or other guidance as necessary to effectuate the policy set forth in this order. Such actions may include, within the Secretaries� respective discretion and authority, appropriate action to prevent the entry into the United States of, or the granting of any visa or other travel authorization to, any alien entering or attempting to enter the United States for the purpose of engaging in birth tourism; revoking the visa or travel authorization and permanently barring entry of any alien who enters or attempts to enter the United States for the purpose of engaging in birth tourism; denial of entry to, or removal of, any alien who previously engaged or plans to engage in birth tourism; or other appropriate action against entities, organizations, or individuals, within or outside of the United States, responsible for facilitating or enabling birth tourism in any manner.

(b) All other relevant executive departments and agencies shall provide such records and information as are necessary for the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Homeland Security to implement the terms of this order and the rules, policies, operational guidance, or other guidance issued pursuant to it, subject to applicable law.

Sec. 5. Exemptions. Notwithstanding the restrictions imposed by this order, the Secretary of State or the Secretary of Homeland Security may exempt a foreign national from actions taken pursuant to this order on humanitarian grounds or when the foreign national�s entry is in the national interest, as determined by the Secretary of State or the Secretary of Homeland Security.

Sec. 6. General Provisions. (a) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:

(i) the authority granted by law to an executive department or agency, or the head thereof; or

(ii) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.

(b) This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.

(c) This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

(d) If any provision of this order, or the application of any provision to any person or circumstances, is held to be invalid, the remainder of this order and the application of any of its other provisions to any other persons or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.

(e) The costs for publication of this order shall be borne by the Department of Homeland Security.

While we cannot know for certain that it has anything to do with USAID funding, the ActBlue investigation or that the SPLC has been indicted, it does seem odd that in the run up to the elections Democrats have not ordered nationwide riots.

We know most of their protest are not organic and are primarily made up of paid activists. So maybe they just don't have the funds.

It is also odd that the DNC is broke, maybe the two are related?

Either way it's been nice to avoid the riots this summer.

A 42-year old Bengali man who sexually abused a 13-year-old girl in the Italian city of Turin over the weekend was released just two days later on Monday by a local judge because the offender said he was �sorry.�

The judge�s shocking decision prompted outrage and condemnation from Italian government authorities, including Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who expressed her solidarity with the victim.

The Italian newspaper La Stampa reports that the heinous crime occurred on Saturday afternoon at a mini market located in northern Turin. The victim told police she went to the locale to buy a a fruit juice drink for her brother after he had finished cooking lunch.

A store worker � later identified as a 42 year-old Bengali national � engaged in conversation with her.

He eventually asked the girl if he could �hug her� before sexually assaulting the minor.

La Stampa pointed out that it omitted the details of the assault from its report out of decency and compassion toward the minor.

Per the newspaper, the victim left the store in a complete state of shock. She was able to call a friend who helped her arrive home. She spoke with her mother, who later called the police. The minor victim further testified to the police that a similar incident had occurred just two weeks prior, when the same man �put his hand on me� but she managed to get out of the store. The girl was examined by a pediatrician at Turin�s Regina Margherita hospital.

Italian police officers reportedly arrived at the store and noted the suspect�s �agitated state,� exhibiting an impatient and restless behavior during questioning. Most shockingly, video surveillance footage obtained from the store revealed evidence that the suspect had also assaulted a woman 40 minutes before the abuse against the minor took place.

The Bengali man was detained on Saturday. Local prosecutors accused the man of being a repeat offender during a preliminary hearing on Monday. Despite the evidence presented, a local judge released the man after he said, �I�m sorry for what happened. It had never happened to me before,� during the hearing.

Per Rai News, the man justified his behavior by claiming he had drunk �two tequilas.� The judge reportedly claimed in the hearing that �strong evidence of guilt� against the man was found and acknowledged that the victim�s testimony is logical, consistent, and corroborated by surveillance camera. Nevertheless, the man was released because of his �remorse� and �cooperative attitude.�

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed her outrage over the man�s release in a message published at her official Facebook account.

The Prime Minister said that her government is sending inspectors from the Justice Ministry to Turin to investigate what transpired as it is the only thing the executive can do.

�Who�s going to explain this to that family? Who�s going to explain this to that neighborhood, which knows tonight that that man is back there?� Meloni asked. �We�ll keep going. Regulations, personnel, equipment, resources. All the way through. But this makes it really difficult.�

�My complete solidarity goes out to the young woman and her family,� she concluded.

Justice Minister Carlo Nordio later confirmed that inspectors have been sent to Turin, noting that the controversial ruling falls within the separation of powers between the executive and the judiciary. In spite of that, Nordio said that the inspectors will gather all of the relevant information in light of the exceptional circumstances of the case and the social commotion it has caused.

Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini expressed his disgust at the �unbelievable� release of the sexual abuser from prison � describing the man as a �pig� with �all due respect to pigs.� Salvini, who said he would �love� to meet the judge that ordered the release, reiterated the calls made by his party Lega to implement the chemical castration of rapists.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested an illegal alien from the Philippines whose criminal record in the United States dates back 20 years, Breitbart News has learned.

On August 2, ICE agents took custody of 55-year-old illegal alien Jaime Tan Francisco of the Philippines.

About a week before his arrest by ICE, Francisco was arrested by police in Las Vegas, Nevada for domestic battery, attempted arson, drug possession, resisting an officer, and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Acting ICE Director David Venturella said Francisco first entered the U.S. in April 2000 through Detroit, Michigan. Francisco was authorized to stay in the U.S. until Oct. 26, 2000, but overstayed and has lived in the country as an illegal alien for almost 26 years.

In July 2006, Francisco was convicted of harassment. Less than 10 years later, in 2014, Francisco was convicted of possession of meth.

�Criminal illegal aliens are unwelcome in the U.S., and ICE is partnering with state and local police to keep them off our streets and out of our communities,� Venturella said.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is continuing to deport violent gang members from the United States, including those convicted of crimes like assault and battery, drug trafficking, and abduction.

�Last week, the brave men and women of ICE made our country safer by deporting illegal alien gang members, including kidnappers, violent assailants, drug traffickers, and burglars,� Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin said.

Among those deported is Balmore Vladimir Hernandez-Lopez of El Salvador, a member of the MS-13 gang. Hernandez-Lopez has been previously convicted of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and has been arrested for human trafficking, smuggling contraband into a prison, and resisting an officer.

Hernandez-Lopez illegally entered the U.S. as an unknown got-away. In June 2007, a federal immigration judge ordered Hernandez-Lopez deported, and in June 2016, he was deported.

Hernandez-Lopez again illegally crossed the southern border in February 2017.

Hernandez-Lopez was arrested and deported by the Trump administration that same month. On a third occasion, he illegally crossed the border and entered the U.S.

DHS officials detailed more gang members recently deported by ICE:

Erik Alexis Valladares-Corea, an illegal alien from Honduras and MS-13 gang member, deported on August 24. His criminal history includes convictions for abduction, possession of a weapon, and illegal re-entry, and arrests for maliciously or unlawfully wound and cause bodily injury with the intent to maim, disfigure, disable, or kill, resisting an officer, speeding, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He illegally entered the United States through Texas in April 2015, and was RELEASED by the Obama Administration. After a Department of Justice (DOJ) Immigration Judge issued Valladares-Corea a final order of removal on May 19, 2020, the Trump Administration deported him on May 29, 2020. He then illegally re-entered the United States � a felony � at an unknown date and location.

Enrique Carrasco-Polanco, an illegal alien from Mexico and Sinaloa Cartel member, deported on August 29. His criminal history includes convictions for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, drug possession, marijuana � sell, and illegal re-entry. He has previously been deported from the United States THREE times, in 2014, 2015, and 2017, after a DOJ Immigration Judge issued Carrasco-Polanco a final order of removal on October 14, 2014. He illegally entered the United States at an unknown date and location.

Abner Geovani Del Valle-Lemus, an illegal alien from Guatemala and 18th Street gang member, deported on August 28. His criminal history includes convictions for battery, possession of a stolen vehicle, vehicle theft, burglary, and vandalism. He illegally entered the United States at an unknown date and location. Although he was arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol in June 2014, he was RELEASED into the country by the Obama Administration. A DOJ Immigration Judge issued Valle-Lemus a final order of removal on July 8, 2026.

Brian Damian Iglesias-Rodriguez, an illegal alien from Uruguay and Latin Kings gang member, deported on August 24. His criminal history includes convictions for assault, burglary of a vehicle, joyriding, unlawful control of a vehicle, shoplifting, receiving stolen property, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, possession or use of a controlled substance, obstruction of police, and criminal trespass. He claims to have illegally entered the United States through New York in 2002. A DOJ Immigration Judge issued Iglesias-Rodriguez a final order of removal on June 17, 2021, and he was deported on August 7, 2021. He illegally re-entered the United States � a felony � and was arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol on October 28, 2021, and was deported again on February 9, 2022. He then illegally entered the United States for a THIRD time at an unknown date and location.

�The Trump Administration is working hard every single day to undo the damage caused by the Biden Administration�s reckless open-border policies,� Mullin said. �We will never apologize for deporting illegal aliens, because that�s how we save lives.�

An illegal alien accused of murdering a woman and strangling another in Lee County, Florida, this month had been released into the United States by former President Joe Biden�s administration.

On Wednesday, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials revealed that 28-year-old Whycliff Longin of Haiti illegally entered the U.S. through Florida in 2024. Despite entering illegally, the Biden administration released Longin into the U.S. interior.

�This dangerous illegal alien should have never been allowed into our country in the first place,� DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in a statement. �If it weren�t for the Biden administration�s reckless open-border policies, Amadette Longin would still be alive. ICE has lodged a detainer and will work with our partners in Florida to make sure this killer is never released onto our streets ever again.�

As Breitbart News reported, the Lee County Sheriff�s Office arrested Longin for allegedly murdering his aunt, Amadette Longin, and strangling his cousin.

Whycliff�s cousin told police that she woke up to him strangling her. The woman said she broke free of Whycliff�s grip and hid in the residence�s bathroom. When police arrived on the scene, Whycliff was found and arrested at the duplex next door.

When officers searched the residence, they found Amadette Longin�s lifeless body. Amadette�s family told police she had given Whycliff a place to stay. Longin has been charged with murder, attempted murder, sexual battery, and burglary involving battery. He remains in Lee County custody.

House Democrats are considering new rules for their caucus after the surprise defections of two members on a procedural vote Tuesday.

The House Democratic Committee on Caucus Rules met Wednesday to discuss votes by Reps. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-Wash.) and Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine) in support of the GOP’s legislative agenda. The panel discussed rule changes but said any discipline of the members would have to come from leadership.

“There’s been a variety of suggestions to change our rules not just regarding the last couple days but several suggestions that have been percolating for some time,” Rep. Mike Levin (D-Calif.), chair of the committee, said. “There’s been a robust conversation about members dues, about attendance, things like that, what is required to be a member in good standing, these are not new issues.”

The situation has roiled the caucus and has raised questions about how Democratic leaders will keep their party in line if they win control of the chamber next year.

“What happened yesterday, there were many people that were caught off guard, and that’s part of the conversations that we’re having,” Rep. Tim Kennedy (D-N.Y.), a member of the committee, told reporters Wednesday. “Right now, we’re just listening to what everybody has to say about the future of our caucus.”

Golden is retiring at the end of this Congress and Gluesenkamp Perez is running for reelection in one of the most competitive races this cycle. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee will continue to support Gluesenkamp Perez, according to a person familiar with the group’s thinking.

In weighing a response, Democratic leaders will have to balance the need to shore up party discipline with their desire to hold Gluesenkamp Perez’s seat as they seek to win control of the House in the midterms. They are under pressure from caucus members who are angry with what they saw as a betrayal.

Disciplinary action typically includes stripping members of committee assignments, though Gluesenkamp Perez, a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee, told reporters Wednesday she was undeterred.

“If that’s what they feel they need to do, it’s not going to change” how she represents her district, she said.

On Monday, during a House Oversight task force hearing, �Protecting American Citizenship:

Confronting Birth Tourism,� Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) exposed birth tourism in the United States and forced an alleged founder of a company that peddles the practice to repeatedly plead the fifth.

The industry encourages women to travel to the United States specifically to give birth so the child automatically receives U.S. citizenship under the 14th Amendment�s Citizenship Clause. The child becomes a citizen at birth even if the parents have no lawful permanent status and later return home.

While giving birth on U.S. soil is not itself illegal, obtaining a visitor visa under false pretenses when the primary purpose is to secure citizenship for the child is prohibited.

Typically, women usually enter the US on B-1/B-2 visitor visas, and a commercial industry of �maternity hotels� or birthing centers offers packages that include housing, transportation, medical arrangements, and sometimes shopping or nanny services. Packages have been advertised in the $20,000�$100,000 range, often targeting clients from China, Russia, Turkey, Mexico, and elsewhere.

Pediatrician Dr. Wladimir Lorentz, who runs �Have My Baby in Miami,� was grilled by Rep. Gill during the hearing and pleaded the Fifth to every substantive question about marketing, client numbers, and whether he assisted people tied to foreign governments.

According to Local10News, the company, which marketed packages to foreign pregnant women who wanted to give birth in Miami so their children would receive U.S. citizenship, advertised �complete logistical support�: help with travel documents, housing, international health insurance, a step-by-step trip guide, obstetric care, and pediatric follow-up. Its website and social media claimed more than 2,000 deliveries of international patients.

Rep. Gill asked, �Is it true that your business, �Have my Baby in Miami,� marketed itself to and facilitated the entry of forgeign nationals seeking to come to the United States to give birth and to obtain birthright citizenship for their children?�

Lorentz replied, �On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer the questions on the grounds that a truthful answer may tend to incriminate me, and I invoke my rights under the 5th Amendment of the United States.�

Rep. Gill pressed on, �Ok. Witness invokes his Fifth Amendment right. I�ve your website right here that you�d spent quite a bit of time marketing which suggests you were, in fact, facilitating the entry of foreign nationals so that they could give birth and obtain citizenship for their children.�

He continued, �This is Have my Baby in Miami�s website. On the front page of it, the last line of the commentary states, �Now the dream of having a child in the United States is closer to reality than you ever imagined.�

�Is this your website, Dr. Lorentz?�

Lorentz repeated, �On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer the questions on the grounds that a truthful answer may tend to incriminate me, and I invoke my rights under the 5th Amendment of the United States.�

Rep Gill continued, �On your website there is a step-by-step guide, �Preparing for the trip to the United States.� It�s got information on arrival, waiting for the delivery, the birth, preparing for return, and returning back home to the person�s home country. It�s even got a section on legal topics. Do you recognize this?�

Lorentz repeated, �On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer the questions on the grounds that a truthful answer may tend to incriminate me, and I invoke my rights under the 5th Amendment of the United States.�

Undeterred, Rep. Gill asked, �Dr. Lorentz, how many babies have you birthed in the United States to the parents of foreign nationals?�

Lorentz replied, again, �On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer the questions on the grounds that a truthful answer may tend to incriminate me, and I invoke my rights under the 5th Amendment of the United States.�

Rep. Gill pressed, �Your website says over 2,000 deliveries of international patients so far, so I think we can assume it�s over 2,000.�

Lorentz continued to plead the Fifth before Gill ultimately dismissed him.

On January 20, 2025, President Trump issued an Executive Order that sought to deny birthright citizenship to children of parents who were unlawfully present or on temporary visas.

The Supreme Court struck it down on June 30, 2026, in Trump v. Barbara.

Following the decision, in August, President Trump signed two new executive orders on birthright citizenship and birth tourism

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller then explained the two orders, one of which will �expand the definitions of people who are ineligible for birthright citizenship,� including �alien enemies of the United States, members of foreign terrorist organizations, and large categories of people who lobby and act on behalf of foreign governments.�

The other order bans birthright tourism, the practice by which people travel to the United States solely for the purpose of giving birth to a child on our soil. �No one in the world is anymore allowed to obtain a visa for this fraudulent purpose,� Miller said.

This isn�t just another war in the Middle East. The conflict that began on October 7th, 2023 has been raging for nearly 3 years now, and it is a battle for all the marbles. As you will see below, Israel�s goal is regime change in Iran. Of course Iran�s goal is to completely wipe Israel from the map. So there is never going to be any sort of a �peace agreement� between Israel and Iran. Both sides are going to continue to fight to achieve their goals until one or the other wins.

And things could be heating up in the region very soon.
The high holiday season is about to arrive in Israel, and Defense Minister Israel Katz is warning that Israel will �respond with great force� if Iran chooses to attack�

Israel is prepared for a possible attack from Iranian forces over the Jewish high holiday season, which begins in mid-September, said Katz.
If Iran attacks, Israel will �respond with great force, independently of anyone else,� Katz said, adding that �our planes are ready to take off.�
�They like to attack on Jewish holidays because, after all, they hate Jews. Look at the many things that have happened in the past. But we are prepared both defensively and offensively, in coordination with the United States in this regard,� Katz said.

Israelis will be observing Rosh Hashanah at the end of next week.

It wouldn�t surprise me at all if more fighting between Israel and Iran erupts once the fall festivals begin.
In fact, more fighting between the two could literally erupt at any moment.
Israel�s stance on Iran has never changed.
During a recent interview, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu openly admitted that �all of Israel�s systems are working to overthrow this regime and defeat it��

Meanwhile, Fox News is reporting that President Trump has �revived speculation over regime change in Iran��

�They are just playing out the inevitable,� Trump added. �When are the Iranian people going to rise up and fight?�

Of course the truth is that hundreds of thousands of Iranians did rise up back in January, and tens of thousands of them were gunned down by their tyrannical government.

The Iranian regime is strong.
They have more than a million men that they could call upon if needed.
The U.S. has been bombing Iran over and over again, and the regime still remains firmly in control.
On Tuesday, the U.S. unveiled a new �tanker for tanker� policy�

The US military struck two Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) tankers on Tuesday in the first direct retaliatory attack on Iranian ships since the beginning of the war, Axios reported on Tuesday, citing US officials.

The move is part of a new �tanker for tanker� policy approved by US President Donald Trump, the report said, and aims to further deter Iranian attacks on ships moving through the Strait of Hormuz.
Prior to the new strategy, the US had only prevented Iranian ships from violating the naval blockade.

So now whenever the Iranians attack a commercial ship in the Strait of Hormuz, we will attack one of their ships.
Of course that won�t deter Iran.
They are just going to keep doing what they feel they need to do.
And so it is inevitable that there will be a lot more fighting.
It appears that the Iranians would like the consequences of the war to reach the U.S. homeland.
We are being told that Iranian hackers have been targeting �telecommunications, energy and other infrastructure� inside the United States during the past few weeks�

Iranian hackers have targeted not only US water systems but also telecommunications, energy and other infrastructure in recent weeks, NBC News reported on Wednesday, citing four people with access to government and industry cyberthreat information.

So far, it does not appear that much damage has been done.
Perhaps they are not very good hackers.
In any event, they are promising that we will soon �witness unexpected and critical events in the energy, water, and telecommunications industries��

A Telegram channel presenting itself as a voice for Iranian cyber operations also threatened attacks on US infrastructure.
�Soon, the United States will witness unexpected and critical events in the energy, water, and telecommunications industries,� the group, APT IRAN, said on Telegram, according to NBC News.

We shall see.
Personally, I am far more concerned about the potential for a biological attack on U.S. soil.
And of course the crisis in the Middle East will continue to drive up energy prices.
According to NBC News, the average price of a gallon of diesel in the U.S. has reached the highest level since the war with Iran began�

Every day, diesel seems to get even more expensive.
At the rate we are going, it won�t be too long before the average price of a gallon of diesel in the U.S. hits 6 dollars�

That�s because the industrial fuel sits at the epicenter of freight, agriculture, construction, and heavy industry; soaring prices ripple quickly through supply chains, raising transportation and construction costs, reigniting food inflation, weakening consumer sentiment, and intensifying margin pressure on small and medium-sized businesses.
The latest AAA data show that the nationwide average retail price reached $5.69 per gallon.

Meanwhile, the turmoil in global bond markets is intensifying.
On Wednesday, investors continued to sell off bonds at a frightening pace�

Government bonds sold off globally on Wednesday, extending a rout that has driven borrowing costs to multi-decade highs.
The yield on German 10-year bunds, the benchmark for the euro area, was 4 basis points higher at 3.378% on Wednesday � its highest level since 2011. Japan�s 10-year yield stood at 3.016%, after crossing 3% for the first time in three decades on Tuesday.
The 10-year Treasury yield touched its highest level since November 2023 at 4.814%, as British 10-year gilts marked a fresh post-2008 high of 5.25%, before both retreated slightly.

This is just the start.
This crisis is slowly building up to a crescendo, and I am convinced that things will soon get really crazy.
Iran has cards that they have not revealed yet, and so does Israel.
We have never been this close to a nightmare scenario in the Middle East.
There has already been so much death and destruction, but it isn�t even worth comparing to what is eventually coming.

In Westport, Connecticut, residents are facing the devastating environmental impact of illegals refusing to follow local laws to protect marine life.

Although there are laws meant to limit the harvesting of shellfish in the state, to protect the population of clams, steamers, oysters, and mussels, illegals are ignoring the laws and creating what could become devastating for the shellfish population in the area.

The Connecticut Sentinel notes that Connecticut General Statutes � 26-228 “prohibits taking any shells or shellfish from the shores or waters of the state between sunset and sunrise. The penalty is a fine of $100–$500 and/or up to 30 days in jail. Westport’s recreational shellfishing regulations explicitly adopt this rule. Harvesting is allowed only from sunrise to sunset.”

A resource guide from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), notes, “Shellfish are important to Connecticut’s coastal communities and economies, the waters of Long Island Sound and the many species of marine wildlife that rely upon them.”

“The harvest and cultivation of shellfish along our shores provides local food, jobs, contributes to the maritime economy, and shellfisheries are an important part of the state’s history and culture.”

“Connecticut’s aquaculture industry is an important agriculture sector. Aquaculture is the 7th highest valued agriculture product in the state according to the USDA Census of Agriculture. Marine aquaculture is the largest sector.”

Per The Connecticut Sentinel:

A Westport recreational shellfish permit is required (annual or one-day). Children under 17 do not need their own permit but must be with a permitted adult. The permit must be displayed while harvesting.
Daily limit: � bushel of shellfish per person in any 24-hour period. “Unlimited” is not allowed.
Size limits apply (examples): hard clams (quahogs) must be at least 1.5 inches or 1 inch thick; oysters at least 3 inches; soft-shell clams 1.5 inches; razor clams 4 inches; mussels 2 inches. Undersized shellfish must be returned immediately.
Harvest is for personal/family consumption only, not sale.

Yet illegals are harvesting shellfish “by the hundreds” at night, which could wipe out the population for everyone.

The Department of Justice just ripped up a 28-year Clinton-era legal dodge that let sanctuary states hide illegal aliens from federal immigration authorities while collecting billions in welfare money meant for American families.

On Tuesday, the Justice Department�s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) issued a formal opinion holding that when a state takes Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) funds, the entire state government, not just the welfare office, must report to the Department of Homeland Security any person the state knows is not lawfully present in the United States.

That is not a new law. That is the 1996 welfare-reform statute Congress actually wrote. The Clinton Justice Department simply pretended it said something else.

�Congress wrote this requirement plainly,� said Assistant Attorney General T. Elliot Gaiser, who leads OLC. �When a state chooses to participate in TANF, it accepts the obligation to report illegal aliens in the United States. Tax dollars intended to help vulnerable Americans should not perversely encourage illegal entry into the United States, but rather should reinforce our laws and our borders.�

Deputy Assistant Attorney General Joshua Craddock, the author of the opinion, was even blunter: the new guidance �does not impose new obligations on states.� It �simply restores the original meaning of the statute Congress enacted.� States that take the money �must abide by federal law, and failure to comply may lead to serious consequences, including loss of program funding.�

All 50 states, the District of Columbia, and several U.S. territories take TANF and SSI. Federal TANF block grants alone exceed $16.4 billion a year.

Clinton Lawyers Re-Wrote �State� to Mean Almost Nobody

Section 404 of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 requires participating states to furnish DHS, at least four times a year and upon request, the name, address, and identifying information of any individual the state knows is unlawfully in the United States.

In 1998, the Clinton OLC decided �State� secretly meant only the single agency that cuts the TANF or SSI check. Motor-vehicle offices, prisons, hospitals, housing authorities, schools, and police departments were off the hook, even when they already knew someone was here illegally.

OLC now says that reading was a text-defying gift to open-borders states. Congress defined �State� as the sovereign entity, the 50 states, D.C., and listed territories, not one boutique welfare shop inside it.

Elsewhere in the same statute, Congress knew how to say �State agency� when it wanted a narrower target. In section 404, it didn�t.

The 1998 opinion also leaned on a 2000 regulation that claimed a state only �knows� someone is illegal after a formal removal order. OLC shredded that too. Knowledge includes DHS notice, an alien�s own admission, expired papers, or documents that on their face show no lawful status. Willful blindness is not a legal strategy.

Sanctuary politicians will scream �coercion.� OLC already answered them. TANF is a voluntary program Congress created with the reporting condition attached. The money at stake is a fraction of the Medicaid expansion the Supreme Court called coercive in NFIB v. Sebelius.

And the condition is related to the federal interest Congress wrote into PRWORA itself: stop ineligible noncitizens from drawing welfare and stop taxpayer benefits from becoming a magnet for illegal entry.

As The Gateway Pundit has documented for years, illegal-alien households are plugged into the American welfare system through loopholes, mixed-status cases, and blue-state defiance.

A Center for Immigration Studies analysis using 2024 survey data found 60.7 percent of households headed by illegal immigrants used at least one major welfare program. Non-citizen-headed households used traditional welfare at far higher rates than native-born households.

On TANF specifically, HHS data show �child-only� cases, cash going to a household headed by a parent who is ineligible because of immigration status, still soak up hundreds of millions.

California alone accounted for roughly 70 percent of those households and about $617.5 million in annual cash assistance, or 81 percent of the national total. New York, Massachusetts, and Washington followed.

States cannot demand billions from American taxpayers, shelter illegal aliens from federal authorities, and then pretend that Congress never imposed conditions on the money.

Senior U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci Jr. granted Rochester�s motion to dismiss on Tuesday and tossed the Justice Department�s amended complaint with prejudice, preventing the administration from simply revising and refiling the case in the same court.

Geraci also denied the Trump administration�s motion for summary judgment as moot.

Geraci was nominated to the federal bench by Barack Obama in 2012 and assumed senior status in 2023.

The Justice Department filed the lawsuit in April 2025 against Rochester, Democrat Mayor Malik Evans, the Rochester City Council, and Council President Miguel Mel�ndez Jr.

The administration argued that Rochester�s sanctuary policies intentionally obstruct federal immigration enforcement, unlawfully discriminate against federal authorities, and violate the Constitution�s Supremacy Clause.

The policies prohibit city personnel from using local resources to assist federal civil immigration enforcement except where specifically required by law.

Rochester police are also restricted from asking about immigration status, honoring civil immigration detainers, assisting ICE in taking certain individuals into custody, or cooperating with ICE, Customs and Border Protection, and Homeland Security Investigations without specific authorization.

The dispute erupted after Rochester police responded to an emergency request for assistance from federal agents during a March 24, 2025, traffic stop.

Ten Rochester officers reportedly assisted federal agents in removing three Guatemalan nationals from a van and taking them into custody.

Mayor Evans and Police Chief David Smith subsequently accused the officers of violating the city�s sanctuary policy and ordered them to undergo additional training.

One of the men, Wilson Oswaldo Galvan-Lopez, had previously been deported in 2023. He later pleaded guilty to illegally reentering the United States and was turned over to ICE.

Yet Rochester�s Democrat leaders treated the local officers, not the illegal alien who unlawfully returned to the country, as the problem.

In his ruling, Geraci rejected the Justice Department�s argument that two federal information-sharing statutes, 8 U.S.C. �� 1373 and 1644, override Rochester�s policies.

Geraci concluded that the statutes could not preempt local law because they regulate state and local government entities rather than private individuals.

�There is no way to read �� 1373 or 1644 as regulating anyone other than states and their political subdivisions,� Geraci wrote.

The judge also ruled that the administration failed to establish that Rochester�s policies unlawfully discriminate against the federal government.

According to Geraci, the city�s decision to withhold local assistance from ICE merely �decline[s] to ease the burden of civil immigration enforcement� and does not impose an unconstitutional burden on Washington.

Geraci further concluded that Rochester�s policies regulate only the conduct of city officials, not federal immigration agents themselves.

�They do not dictate how the federal government must act,� the judge wrote.

The court denied the Justice Department another opportunity to amend its complaint, noting that the administration had already been permitted to revise the lawsuit after Rochester expanded and codified its sanctuary protections in 2025.

Rochester�s original sanctuary policy dates back to 1986. The city reaffirmed it in 2017 and strengthened it while the federal litigation was underway.

Mayor Evans gloated over the ruling Wednesday, accusing the Trump administration of �grandstanding� and insisting that Rochester would not be �coerced into doing the federal government�s work of immigration enforcement.�

It remains unclear whether the Justice Department will appeal Geraci�s ruling to the Second Circuit.

Despite the majority of citizens (including Democrats), who don�t want non-citizens on Michigan�s voter rolls, Michigan Secretary of State and Democrat candidate for governor, Jocelyn Benson, isn�t giving up the fight to keep non-citizens on the voter rolls and prevent any petition by the people, government entity, or even U.S. Supreme Court from identifying and removing them.

Michigan voters, regardless of political party, do NOT want non-citizens voting in their elections. In fact, a whopping 87% of voters evenly split between Democrats and Republicans in Michigan said in a recent Remington Group poll that they are not in favor of non-citizens voting in Michigan elections.

America�s dirtiest Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson is not about representing the people she was elected to represent, she is, and always has been, about looking out for her own special interests.

Jocelyn Benson and her right hand man, Bureau of Elections Director Jonathan Brater, have done everything within their power to ensure non-citizens are not only placed on Michigan�s voter rolls, but ensuring they maintain the sole authority to identify them.

Here�s the scary truth

Benson and Brater do not need a law that says �only we may check citizenship.� They built the system so the check cannot happen without them. The Bureau of Elections owns the Qualified Voter File. Clerks can see the state and edit only their own city or township, but they cannot add a citizenship flag. The one Michigan agency USCIS lists for voter-registration SAVE access is the Department of State in Lansing � not Wayne County, not Detroit, not a township clerk.

SOS branches handle automatic voter registration. Once that name is on the statewide voter list, the local clerk cannot use the federal citizenship-check system, and a �non-citizen� mark on that person�s driver�s-license record is not an order from Lansing to take them off the rolls.

Benson and Brater have also kept everyone else off the full file. The DOJ asked for the unredacted rolls � dates of birth, driver�s license numbers, last four of Social Security � and Benson refused. Courts have so far allowed her to stonewall them.

Last week, on Monday, August 24, hundreds of Michigan residents packed the Michigan Board of Canvassers meeting in Lansing to defend the validity of the Americans for Citizens Only Voting petition which was turned in several months ago with an astounding 709,841 signatures, 59.1% over the threshold of the minimum to make the ballot, which was only 446,198.

ACVM did not sneak this petition in at the last minute. The petitions landed on March 4, 2026 � more than four months before the July 6 filing deadline and eight months before Election Day. The Bureau of Elections sat on those 709,841 signatures for five and a half months. Staff did not release the 1,000-signature sample until July 24. The staff report calling the petition 17 signatures short did not come out until August 17. That is 166 days after the boxes were delivered, and it left the campaign 17 days to fight challenges, chase affidavits, and get in front of the Board of State Canvassers on August 24.

The Michigan Board of Canvassers was asked to review the signatures pulled from the �random sampling� that the Board of Elections Director Jonathan Brater�s staff deemed unacceptable because, according to the staff members, the signatures on the petition didn�t match the signatures they had on file. Many audience members could be heard remarking that their signatures have changed over the years, suggesting this was a completely unfair practice. The intense scrutiny given to each signature by the amateur signature sleuths was especially difficult to watch, given that only 6 years ago, Michigan�s top election official, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, told her clerks to ignore signature matching when accepting absentee ballots and assume the signature matched.

The attorneys working with ACVM were able to obtain 23 affidavits from the sampling of 1,000 that MI Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson�s Board of Elections �staff members� rejected, to prove that the signatures they called into question were indeed, valid signatures. The attorneys provided 19 affidavits by the 10 am Saturday deadline and an additional 4 more on Saturday (the time of the delivery is unclear).

The MI Board of Canvassers Meeting Was Like A Scene Taken Out of Atlas Shrugged

For almost 5 hours, Michigan citizens watched smug Democrats disregard legitimate signatures on affidavits filed by voters who were accused by the Michigan Board of Elections of not being legitimate.

Two Republican and two Democrats sitting on the Michigan Board of Canvassers, who have no expertise whatsoever to analyze and determine whether or not a signature is a match with the voter�s signature, discounted signatures verified by a notary public with shocking arrogance and smugness.

Yesterday, after the folks behind the ACVM petition filed an emergency Supreme Court application seeking to put the Michigan Citizens Only Voting amendment on the November ballot, Justice Kavanaugh responded, giving Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Director of Elections Jonathan Brater and the Michigan Board of Canvassers until noon today to respond.

This afternoon, Jocelyn Benson�s attorney responded to Justice Kavanaugh�s request, basically begging the U.S. Supreme Court to allow the far left Michigan Supreme Court handle (slow walk) the case. If the U.S. Supreme Court agrees with Benson, it would essentially ensure the proposal would never make it on the ballot for the upcoming election, as it would never be settled before the Sept. 4 deadline when the Michigan Board of Canvassers meet to finalize the ballots for the upcoming election.

In her argument to the U.S. Supreme Court, Benson attempts to explain the �random� sampling process used to identify the signatures that didn�t match the QVF. But if the Board of Canvassers agreed that several of the affidavits they received during the hearing last week matched the signatures on the QVF, then why did Jonathan Brater�s staff flag them in the first place? It sure seems like a forensic expert should have been called int and at a minimum, an outside non-partisan group should be able to conduct a completely separate random sampling of 1,000 petition signatures to see if they find the same issues identified by Brater�s staff.

Why have so many roadblocks been placed in front of honest American citizens who only want clean voter rolls?

Not only did Benson�s Board of Elections drag their feet on the results of the �random� sampling of signatures on the petition, but petition sponsors cannot even see the QVF signature images Jonathan Brater�s Bureau staff used to reject names in the 1,000-signature �sample.� ACVM was told to hunt down the voters and get affidavits instead.

Clerks have said in public they cannot verify citizenship once a name is on the list. The amendment that would have required proof of citizenship to register is the one Democrats on the Canvassers Board deadlocked off the ballot last week, and the one she is telling Justice Kavanaugh not to touch.

So, there you have it�

Sec of State Benson owns the voter file.

Benson�s department is the only Michigan office USCIS lists as authorized to run the federal citizenship check on voter registrations.

Individuals are placed on the voter rolls at Benson�s driver�s-license offices. The clerk only sees the name after they�ve already been registered. Clerks have no way of verifying their citizenship or even their validity.

And the Democrat candidate for governor in the upcoming election will not give anyone else the records that would let them run any checks. And now, she�s not only asking every citizen in the state of Michigan to trust her that the citizens only voting proposal shouldn�t make it on the ballot, she�s also asking voters to make her and Jonathan Brater the only two people voters should trust that non-citizens are not on Michigan�s voter rolls.

Could it be that Jocelyn doesn�t want a proposal on the upcoming ballot that would attract more conservatives than liberals to vote in an election where the very unpopular Secretary of State will also be on the ballot running for the top spot in Michigan?

Please pray that the U.S. Supreme Court takes up this case.

House conservatives ended their weeks-long blockade of the House floor Tuesday, handing Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., a key victory after the rebellion brought legislative business to a standstill for nearly a month.
The House successfully passed a procedural vote215-211, teeing up votes on an appropriations bill funding the State Department, legislation making daylight saving time permanent and a measure seeking to improve veterans’ benefits.
Johnson also agreed to pair the State Department funding bill with the SAVE America Act, prompting several conservative holdouts to flip their votes after demanding the House increase pressure on the Senate to pass the stalled measure.

Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., was the lone Republican to oppose the rule, while all Democrats voted "no" during a party-line procedural vote.

The conservatives had blocked all major House legislation since late June in an effort to force GOP leaders to hold floor votes on the Trump-backed SAVE America Act and a sweeping border security bill.
Given House Republicans’ slim majority, Johnson could afford to spare just a handful of GOP defections.
The speaker has been under mounting pressure to get the House moving again and advance a backlog of legislation ahead of the November midterm elections.
GOP leaders are racing to draft the blueprint for a third "big, beautiful bill" in addition to clearing government funding bills before the Sept. 30 deadline and a potential supplemental package covering the price tag of the Iran war.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., who was among the GOP rebels who effectively shut down the chamber to pressure the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act, agreed to unlock the floor after Johnson proposed pairing the election measure with the State Department appropriations bill.
Johnson sought to attach the SAVE America Act to the House’s version of an annual defense policy bill before the July 4 recess, but Luna continued the blockade anyway.

"If John Thune strips it out in the Senate, that will be on him and the entire country should be watching what he does," Luna wrote on social media Monday.

TRUMP TAKES UNUSUAL STEP, LETS BIPARTISAN HOUSING BILL BECOME LAW UNSIGNED AMID SAVE PRESSURE CAMPAIGN
Thune, who is supportive of the SAVE America Act, has repeatedly insisted that the votes do not exist in the upper chamber to pass the Trump-backed legislation amid unified opposition from Democrats.
That leaves House Republicans with little leverage to force Senate action on the SAVE America Act.
Some of the GOP holdouts had also threatened to oppose the rule unless House Republican leadership agreed to schedule a vote on a border security package.
Members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus are advocating for a vote on the Permanent Trump Secure Border Act, which would codify several Trump executive orders targeting illegal immigration, including and end to catch-and-release policies.
"We need to deliver on codifying border security, deal with the birthright citizenship issue," Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, said. "These are all issues people that I represent care about intently and that we've talked about doing, and we need to deliver."

In a potential sign of trouble for GOP leadership, some holdouts criticized Johnson's planned legislative goals for the week.
"Making Daylight Saving Time permanent won’t matter at all if we don’t have election integrity," Rep. Keith Self, R-Texas, wrote on social media Monday, referring to the SAVE America Act. "Priorities."

The GOP rebels' hardball tactics frustrated many House Republicans, who argued the strategy risked backfiring and paralyzing the conference's legislative agenda.

"There's a small group of Republicans who are upset at the Senate, as I think all of us are," Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Fla., told Fox News Monday. "But I don't know how ... if you're upset at the Senate, why do you take it out on the conservative Republican agenda in the House?"
But some conservatives argued the House should do whatever it takes to get the SAVE America Act to President Donald Trump's desk.
Trump has repeatedly said the election integrity measure is his top legislative priority. He even refused to sign a bipartisan housing bill last week aiming to boost supply and lower costs in protest of the SAVE America Act.

Around 500 people gathered in front of the European Parliament in Brussels on Wednesday to protest against the Spanish government�s handling of the crisis in Ceuta, where several thousand of more than 70,000 migrants who arrived in the exclave on 30 July remain.
MEPs and staffers from the centre-right European People�s Party and far-right Patriots for Europe gathered in the area in front of Parliament, waving the flags of Ceuta and Spain, and accusing Spanish Prime Minister Pedro S�nchez of failing to defend Spain�s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Two separate demonstrations were launched by Spain�s Popular Party and Vox in Brussels on Ceuta Day. Despite being organised separately, both gatherings took place at the same time and in the same location, with EPP and PfE lawmakers standing side by side.
�S�nchez has handed over responsibility for the security of Ceuta to a third country,� EPP vice-president Dolors Montserrat told reporters, claiming the Spanish Prime Minister �is bowing� to Morocco.
Online newspaper El Espa�ol reported on Wednesday that Spain's National Centre for Immigration and Borders (CENIF) had concluded the incident "was guided by Moroccan security forces", contradicting S�nchez�s stance that there is no proof of any involvement by the authorities in Rabat.
Madrid has so far avoided publicly blaming Rabat for the incident. It generally considers Morocco a cooperative partner in migration management.

Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska asked police chief Francisco Pardo to verify the information, which CENIF reportedly sent to a judge gathering information on the incident, according to ministry sources.
Vox, the leading Spanish far-right party, claims S�nchez has �betrayed� his own country and is pushing to activate Article 102 of the Spanish Constitution, which would trigger a criminal trial against the prime minister and his cabinet.
�The situation is untenable. This government cannot continue to lead Spain,� Vox MEP Jorge Buxad� Villalba told reporters, claiming this is the �hardest hour� for the country since the Catalan attempted secession in 2017.
Vox�s MEPs also sent a letter to Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and Home Affairs Commissioner Magnus Brunner.
They call for condemning and sanctioning Morocco, declaring the massive entry �an act of hybrid warfare� and immediately suspending all international agreements between the EU and Morocco, as well as the granting of visas to Moroccan citizens.
The European Commission told Euronews it will not comment on leaks and considers the ongoing investigation into Morocco�s involvement �a matter for the national authorities.�

The House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning socialism on Tuesday evening, with all but eight House Democrats voting against it.
The resolution passed 220 to 192 with all "no" votes coming from the left, including Democrats� senior leaders: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., House Minority Whip Katherine Clark, D-Mass., and House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar, D-Calif.

The legislation also affirmed support for election integrity and called for passage of the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which nearly all Democrats oppose.
In a stunning twist of fate, however, the vote would not have occurred if two House Democrats hadn't stepped in hours earlier to help the GOP through a procedural hurdle � blindsiding Jeffries in the process.

House conservatives had threatened to tank a procedural vote, called a "rule vote," meant to unlock debate on several bills GOP leaders wanted lawmakers to vote on this week. That included the resolution condemning socialism and several other unrelated bills.

Five Republicans voted against the rule, which was poised to fail until Reps. Jared Golden, D-Maine, and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, D-Wash., provided two critical votes to get the GOP over the finish line in a narrow 209 to 208 vote.
All Republicans wound up voting in favor of the resolution condemning socialism and affirming election integrity on Tuesday evening, however.
Golden and Gluesenkamp Perez were among the Democrats who joined the GOP in that vote, as well as Reps. Don Davis, D-N.C., Vicente Gonzalez, D-Texas, Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, Kathy Castor, D-Fla., Gabe Vasquez, D-N.M., and Darren Soto, D-Fla. Reps. Maggie Goodlander, D-N.H., and Chrissy Houlahan, D-Pa., voted "present."
Socialism has dominated the 2026 midterm election season on both sides of the aisle. Democrats are grappling with a far-left insurgency within their ranks as candidates linked to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) continue to topple incumbents and establishment-backed candidates across the country.
It's provided fodder for the House GOP while it fights an uphill battle to keep control of Congress in November as Republicans warn the socialist left will take over the Democratic Party if it wins.

"Today's vote ripped off the mask. House Democrats are so beholden to their socialist leaders they will rubber stamp their far-left radical policies the second they get the chance," Mike Marinella, a spokesman for House Republicans' campaign arm, told Fox News Digital.
Rep. Jeff Crank, R-Colo., who led the resolution, told Fox News Digital, "The resolution is pretty easy, right? It condemns socialism in all its forms, including the DSA, recommits ourselves to the Constitution of the United States�a third point is that we don't want non-citizens voting in elections."

"They can certainly be critical, but it's just a quick choice for the American people to see where people stand on this stuff," Crank said.
But Democrats contended that Republicans' largely symbolic resolution was a meaningless political exercise that does nothing to help Americans with their everyday problems. Many on the left have also dismissed the GOP's election integrity efforts as voter suppression.
"So you're concerned about rising gas, or are you concerned about grocery prices? You know, don't worry. Republicans in Congress are passing another non-binding resolution condemning socialism," Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass., said during a hearing on Monday.
The Tuesday evening vote would not have been possible without Golden and Gluesenkamp Perez rescuing Republicans' agenda. Golden is not running for re-election, while Gluesenkamp Perez is one of the most vulnerable Democrats in the country.

It's almost unheard of for the minority party to help their political rivals pass a rule, and Jeffries told reporters he was not notified beforehand.
The five House Republicans who voted against it were Reps. Pete Sessions, R-Texas; Chip Roy, R-Texas; Ralph Norman, R-S.C., Clay Higgins, R-La.; and Andy Harris, R-Md.

The rebels' issue was not with the measure itself, nor the bills it would have allowed the House to pass. Their votes were a protest against how their leaders handled a plan to avert a government shutdown just before the midterm elections, a short-term funding bill called a continuing resolution (CR). That measure passed just before the rule vote began.

But the five GOP lawmakers took issue with how the Senate modified an original House-passed CR, including adding an unrelated measure to delay a congressionally approved hemp product ban by 30 days and a provision curbing the Trump administration�s control over federal grants.
It's worth noting that Golden is also co-lead of a bill aimed at pausing new federal restrictions on certain American lobster and crab fishing industries, which would have also been stalled if the rule failed.

We have never been closer to nuclear war than we are right now. The Russians are absolutely furious that NATO countries have been providing many of the long-range missiles and long-range drones that have been raining down on their major cities night after night. They are publicly threatening the UK and Germany, and I believe that we should be taking those threats very seriously. Meanwhile, the fact that the Russians are openly aiding Iran�s war effort is deeply upsetting the Trump administration. At this stage, the Russians are not even trying to hide it. Both sides just continue to push the envelope, and that has brought us dangerously close to a shooting war with Russia. Of course once a shooting war with Russia starts, a single wrong move could potentially trigger a full-blown nuclear exchange.

Once again last night, long-range Ukrainian drones struck an important energy facility deep inside Russian territory�

Vladimir Putin has vowed revenge after Ukraine humiliated the Russian dictator with yet another drone attack on a major oil hub.
A barrage of long-range drones on Tuesday left the vast Ust-Luga fuel terminal in flames. The terminal, on the Baltic Sea near St. Petersburg, can process 700,000 barrels of crude oil a day.

The Russians have lost all patience and they have decided that there is no way that they are going to put up with this any longer.
Yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin openly acknowledged that massive strikes on Ukraine�s power grid are coming�

Putin told reporters on Tuesday he had ordered his military to prepare and launch large-scale strikes against Ukrainian energy facilities.
�They battered our people, and they will get a response,� Putin warned, in what amounted to a public admission that Ukraine�s attacks are inflicting real damage on his country.

If that doesn�t work, Putin is prepared to escalate matters even more.
In addition, Russian officials have been suggesting that there could be military strikes on British military facilities in the UK since the UK has been providing Ukraine with long-range missiles and long-range drones.
When asked about the potential for direct strikes in the UK by the press, Putin did not deny that this is on the table�

�Are there British military facilities in Ukraine?� the Kremlin leader asked.
When a journalist clarified that the question was hypothetical, Putin replied: �If there are, then definitely [they will become targets � ed.].�
Asked whether UK defence industry facilities located on British territory could become military targets, Putin replied: �That�s a secret, a military secret.�

There is video footage of this exchange, and it is quite alarming.
Because if Russia conducts strikes on British territory, we will be at war with Russia.
Tensions are also rising between Russia and Germany.

On Tuesday, the German government officially blamed the Russians for an attempted drone attack at the main airport in Leipzig last month�

The drone was found near a Ukrainian plane on Aug. 4 and the device was defused. German officials said at the time that the incident posed a new level of danger.
Moscow has been widely accused by Western officials of running a campaign of sabotage and disruption with the aim of undermining support for Ukraine and destabilizing European nations.

The Russians are furiously denying that they had anything to do with this.

And they are also very angry about the level of military support that Germany has been providing for Ukraine.
Dmitry Medvedev, a former Russian president and current security official, just posted a very ominous message about Germany on Telegram�

In it he said: �Berlin has accused Russia of an unproven attack on Leipzig Airport. Given the neo-Nazi, rabidly Russophobic policies of the current German leadership, a fabricated act of sabotage is the weakest form of punishment for their sins. They deserve a direct strike on all German military equipment production facilities for the Bandera clique. And quite possibly on several other locations in Berlin as well.
�And about the mad clown�s threats against civil aviation in Russian skies. The head of state has already described them as an attempt by the Bandera regime to engage in state terrorism. They don�t negotiate with terrorists and respond to their actions with retaliation.
�And every terror has sponsors. At the moment, these are the heads of Western countries, primarily European ones. And they often travel to Kyiv by train��

There is a very real possibility that Medvedev could follow Putin as the next leader of Russia.
Just think about that.
He is one of the most prominent politicians in Russia, and he just suggested that European leaders could be vulnerable targets when they �travel to Kyiv by train�.
This is how far relations have deteriorated.
Meanwhile, the Russians just continue to develop even deeper ties with the Iranians�

In a joint appearance at a regional security meeting, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for his support in wartime and urged that their nations work together to oppose U.S. sanctions.
The United States and its allies, especially in Europe, have imposed extensive economic penalties on Iran over its nuclear program and more recently its refusal to bow to President Donald Trump�s demands in the Strait of Hormuz; and against Russia for its continuing war in Ukraine.

Needless to say, the Trump administration is not pleased about this at all.
The Russians are openly providing assistance to Iran, and Putin is pledging to continue to do so�

Putin, in turn, said that his country was trying to help Tehran in its war with the United States.
�During this difficult period, we are striving to provide you with the necessary assistance � as we have discussed � and are supplying you with essential goods,� Putin said, according to the Kremlin account.

Humanitarian assistance would be one thing.
But this week it was being reported that Russia has been �secretly supporting Iranian missile development since 2023″�

The goal of the program, codenamed C430L, was to help Iran develop missiles capable of taking out US Navy aircraft carriers in the Middle East.
In particular, they aimed to develop a ramjet propulsion system that would allow Iranian missiles to fly at several times the speed of sound.
Fast, low-flying missiles would give Western air defences less time to react increasing the impact of such an attack.

That is a major bombshell.
Has Russian technical assistance enabled the Iranians to develop their new �Castle Breaker� ballistic missiles?�

Iran has fielded a new generation of ballistic missiles that can evade American air defenses and strike with far greater precision � a technological leap that military experts say has damaged the ring of U.S. bases across the Persian Gulf and left them more vulnerable than they�ve been in decades.
The centerpiece of that shift is a highly mobile ballistic missile Iran calls the Kheibar Shekan, or �Castle Breaker,� which has a range of 900 miles and a satellite-guided, maneuverable warhead.
Iran�s military has used the missile extensively in strikes on the U.S. naval hub in Bahrain and other American bases during the six-month war with the U.S. and Israel, according to the Iranian government and confirmed in USA TODAY interviews with former U.S. military and intelligence officials and weapons analysts.

The Russians are deeply frustrated with us, and we are deeply frustrated with the Russians.
For the good of humanity, we should find a peaceful way out of this mess before nuclear war erupts.
But will that actually happen?
Before I end this article, I wanted to update all of you on something that I discussed yesterday.
We are being told that Tropical Storm Marie is expected to develop into a Category 1 hurricane very shortly�

Tropical Storm Marie is expected to strengthen into a Category 1 hurricane on Wednesday, with sustained winds of more than 75 mph.
It is currently moving along the coast of Mexico and will soon reach the Baja California Peninsula, the thin, 775-mile-long strip of land right below California and the US-Mexico border.

If it moves away from land, this storm won�t be a threat.
But according to the Daily Mail, some models now indicate that it has �a strong likelihood of turning directly towards Southern California��

However, new spaghetti models, which track all possible paths of tropical storms and hurricanes, warn that Marie has a strong likelihood of turning directly towards Southern California, potentially making landfall in Los Angeles or San Diego.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has already warned beachgoers in Los Angeles that there is a high risk for large waves and dangerous rip currents throughout the Labor Day holiday weekend.

No hurricane has ever made landfall in the entire history of the state of California.
If this storm actually does make landfall in Southern California as a hurricane it would be a truly historic occurrence, and it would have monumental implications.
So I will be watching Marie very closely.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro S�nchez said on Monday that Morocco was not responsible, instead accusing Israel, Russia and the far right of spreading disinformation about the mass entry of around 70,000 migrants into Ceuta.

S�nchez told Cadena SER radio that "no intelligence service with which the Spanish government normally cooperates" had suggested "any involvement in one way or another of the Moroccan authorities."
But online newspaper El Espa�ol reported that Spain's National Centre for Immigration and Borders (CENIF) said the incident "was guided by Moroccan security forces...with an objective other than migration."
Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska has written to police chief Francisco Pardo to check on the information, which CENIF reportedly sent to a judge collecting information on the incident, said ministry sources.

"Any such information should have immediately been made available to the National Security Council...and to other bodies with powers in this field," the minister said in his letter.
More than 70,000 migrants entered the small Spanish territory in north Africa on 30-31 July, swimming or crossing on foot from neighbouring Morocco in an unprecedented rush that left scores dead.

Ceuta residents have held regular demonstrations over what they say are security and hygiene problems linked to the influx.
S�nchez said that 6,000 spaces at reception centres would soon be available in the territory for migrants, whose status must be verified by the Spanish authorities before any possible return to Morocco.

He also pledged an additional �168 million in aid for Ceuta to respond to the crisis.
At the end of August, Madrid asked the European Commission (EC) for the support from Frontex, Europol and the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA) to assist with the screening and processing of migrants who are staying irregularly in Ceuta.

Hochul signed the Climate Change Superfund Act into law in 2024.
The judge�s decision means New York cannot impose strict liability on energy companies for their alleged contributions to global greenhouse gas emissions.
Democratic New York state Sen. Liz Krueger initially sponsored the bill in the state Legislature.
Krueger said she was �expecting it to go this way.�
�We feel very strongly the attorney general needs to appeal this to a higher court, and we believe that we will win,� said Krueger.

Wait, they passed the law always expecting it to be shot down by a judge because it was, among other things, un-Constitutional? The judge involved, Chief U.S. District Judge Brenda Sannes, was an Obama appointee, so, it�s not like she was an arch-Conservative. Is Krueger saying she wanted to waste a lot of money on fighting in court on a wing and a prayer that it wins on appeal?

Environmental advocates share that while this is the decision in this case, there are multiple legal challenges that still have to be decided.
�There�s another case in the Southern District of New York brought by the Trump administration,� said Jon Binder, executive director of the Model Climate Laws Initiative for Environmental Advocates NY. �This case was in the northern district of New York brought by a bunch of red states and business groups. There�s also a case in Vermont that�s pending. So, we still have to see what happens in those cases. There�s lots of additional legal steps.�

The month of September has sure started with a bang. President Trump told us in advance that strikes on Iranian targets were coming, and he warned the Iranians not to hit back. Of course the Iranians did not heed that warning at all. Instead, they have launched a massive barrage of ballistic missiles in response. Missiles are flying back and forth all over the Middle East as I write this article, and the danger of a significant escalation is very real. Meanwhile, the price of diesel is absolutely soaring and global bond yields are marching into unprecedented territory. It appears that we could be right on the verge of some sort of a financial meltdown.

If you are alarmed by what you are witnessing, you are not alone.
A few hours ago, President Trump authorized a brand new wave of strikes in Iranian territory�

The US military confirms carrying out renewed strikes against targets in Iran.
�Today at 12 p.m. ET, U.S. forces began striking Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets in Iran,� CENTCOM says in a statement.
�The strikes follow recent attempted attacks by the IRGC against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members deployed to the region,� it says.

It was being reported that the first strikes were targeting �radar systems and military assets along a 300-mile stretch of the coast of the Strait of Hormuz��

Around a dozen strikes have targeted Iranian radar systems and military assets along a 300-mile stretch of the coast of the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian state media has reported strikes on the country�s oil-rich Qeshm Island located on the northern side of the strait. Explosions were reported in the southern port cities of Bandar Abbas and Chabahar.

Subsequently, large explosions were occurring in parts of Iran that are not along the Strait of Hormuz.

So far, we have not received any indication from U.S. Central Command that the strikes have ended.
On his Truth Social account, President Trump warned the Iranians that they would be facing a much more severe attack if they decided to retaliate�

Of course there was no way that the Iranians were going to hold back.

As soon as the U.S. strikes began, Iran announced that �crushing and devastating blows� would be coming.

Iran will respond to the US� newest wave of strikes with an attack �several times larger,� Tasnim reported on Tuesday night, citing a senior Iranian military source.
In a statement shared by Tasnim, the General Staff of Iran�s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters stated that it would �deliver crushing and devastating blows to the despicable and malevolent American enemy.�

Not too long afterwards, ballistic missiles were being launched from locations all over the country�

Tasnim and Fars news agencies have reported that the Iranian armed forces fired missiles and drones towards aggressor US bases in the region.
The IRGC public relations office said in a sttaement issued on Tuesday night that the �regret-inducing response� to the aggression by the US military had begun.
The IRGC also said that the US aggression latest of which happened on Tuesday night would strengthen the lock on the Hormuz Strait.
There were reports of missiles being fired from Karaj next to Tehran, Kermanshah and Aligoudarz in Lorestan Province in the west of Iran.

A lot of analysts were surprised by the size of the Iranian response.

In fact, it is being called one of the largest Iranian missile barrages of the war so far�

The IRGC-affiliated Tasnim news agency said Tuesday that Iran had carried out one of its largest missile barrages of the recent fighting against US bases and positions.

It appears that at least some of those missiles got through.
There have been initial reports of �powerful explosions� at Jordan�s Muwaffaq Salti Air Base�

Social media is also buzzing about a potential ballistic missile impact in Aqaba, Jordan.

Some were speculating that King Hussein International Airport was the target.
But now it appears that Camp Titin has been hit.
Camp Titan is a U.S. Marine Corps military installation located near the Gulf of Aqaba.
The Iranians are claiming that they did a tremendous amount of damage, but the U.S. is denying this.
Hopefully we will learn more in the hours ahead.
Now that the Iranians have hit back so hard, it is probably inevitable that President Trump will escalate matters.

And that is likely to spook global investors even more.
In recent days, the price of diesel has been spiking to crazy heights�

We are being told that the average price of a gallon of diesel in the United States is currently $5.633.
But in my area the price of diesel is well above six dollars a gallon.
Meanwhile, government bond yields are surging all over the world.
In fact, borrowing costs in the UK and in Japan have both reached multi-decade highs�

The key U.S. 10-year Treasury note yield moved to a 20-month high, rising 3 basis points to trade at 4.7880%.
Japan�s benchmark 10-year bond yield jumped more than 6 basis points, moving to 3% for the first time since 1996. Japan�s short-term 2-year government bond yield also touched a 31-year high of 1.81%.
Elsewhere, yields on U.K. 10-year government bonds, known as Gilts, rose more than 9 basis points to 5.2341%, their highest level since June 2008 in the midst of the Global Financial Crisis. The U.K. 30-year Gilt yield, meanwhile, soared 9 basis points to 5.8856%, its highest level since March 1998.

For months, the markets have been anticipating that the war in the Middle East would end soon.
Now reality is setting in.
Panic is starting to spread among investors, and it won�t take much to trigger a stampede for the exits.
More people are starting to realize that this war in the Middle East is a truly historic event.
I believe that some shocking escalations are ahead, and nothing will ever be the same after this.
Things were relatively quiet during the month of August, but now September is here.
I expect that this month will be very chaotic, and the same thing could be said about the rest of this year as well.

Federal authorities say they arrested an illegal immigrant accused of strangling a woman to death inside her Massachusetts home on Tuesday.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement say Flavio Alcantara Dias, 43, is an illegal immigrant from Brazil who was released into the U.S. under former President Joe Biden's administration, despite previous arrests for DUI and aggravated assault.

"Alcantara Dias illegally entered the United States in April 2019. In October 2024, an immigration judge granted Alcantara Dias’ motion to terminate his immigration hearings based on a technicality, bringing his immigration case to an end despite his criminal history and unlawful presence in the United States. He was then released into the country by the Biden administration," the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement.

"The safest way to arrest and remove criminal illegal aliens from our streets is by lodging arrest detainers. 7 of the top 10 safest cities in the United States cooperate with ICE. We are urging the Framingham Police Department to participate in a controlled transfer of this criminal illegal alien to get him out of our communities once and for all," the statement continued.

"Our message is clear: if you come into our country illegally and break our laws, we will find you, we will arrest you, and we will deport you," DHS added.

Middlesex County Assistant District Attorney Thomas Brandt recounted a 911 call Dias made after an altercation with the 33-year-old Brianna Connolly in her home last week.

"He states very clearly, ‘Can I have police? A homicide just happened here right now,’" Brandt told the courtroom, according to Boston 25 News.

"He then states, ‘I ended up killing a woman by mistake.’ He says, ‘I went crazy and suffocated her later on, says that he strangled her,’" Brandt said, noting that Dias had been speaking Portuguese.

Brandt said Dias had told police on the call that he and Connolly had been doing drugs inside her home and got into an argument because he wanted to have sex and she did not.

Dias claimed he fell asleep and woke up to find Connolly not breathing. Brandt added that police observed that Connolly had "blood marks on her forehead and also on the back of her head" in addition to a "fabric-y cord around her neck."

Migration is taking center stage again in the European Union, as Brussels returns to work after a summer marked by the major crisis of recent years.

Over 70,000 irregular migrants entered the Spanish exclave of Ceuta in a single day on 30 July, more than all other irregular entries across all European borders so far in 2026, sparking a political crisis in Spain and putting other member states on alert.

The Ceuta crisis increased pressure on the EU to implement its strategy to tighten the rules for asylum seekers and speed up returns, but it also highlighted the shortcomings of the new migration rules as they face their first real stress test.

EU leaders are expected to debate the topic in October at the European Council in Brussels, the culmination of a season of heated discussions through formal and informal meetings of interior ministers and ambassadors.

Schengen in trouble
The first impact of the domino effect was on free movement within the EU.

After the Ceuta crisis, Italy reintroduced air and maritime border controls with Spain for a month, while other countries such as Denmark and Finland called for Spain to be temporarily suspended from the Schengen area, where citizens and residents have been able to move since 1985 without border checks.

Spain answered with a mirror retaliatory measure towards Italy, even copy-pasting the wording of the official notification, reintroducing border checks until 7 September. At the end of the month, both countries decided to extend the suspension for further 15 days.

And the Italian government is not the only one concerned that Schengen rules could indirectly benefit irregular movement.
In an extraordinary online meeting in Brussels in early August, EU interior ministers initiated a discussion over the future of free movement. Twenty-two governments stated that any "necessary measures" will be taken into account "to safeguard public order and address risks arising from secondary movements [of migrants]", envisaging a wider reinforcement or reintroduction of border controls.

"The Schengen system has become one of the main victims of the internal political dynamics and concerns by member states around migration," Davide Colombi, researcher on migration at Brussels-based think tank CEPS, told Euronews.

EU member states may unilaterally reintroduce temporary, ad hoc border checks at their borders for a period of up to six months — renewable up to two years — on security grounds.

Currently, nine EU countries — Germany, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, France and Sweden — plus Norway have temporarily reintroduced border controls, citing concerns over irregular migration or terrorism threats.

Member states started to retain their own border controls in 2015, with the so-called European refugee crisis, as the removal of internal checks within the EU is widely considered to be closely intertwined with the surveillance of external borders.
"Migration will have broad repercussions on internal movements. For the moment, the Commission is choosing diplomatic ways rather than enforcing EU law and challenging the reintroduction of border checks," Colombi said.

Where is the solidarity?
Far from expressing solidarity, other EU countries accused Pedro S�nchez’s government, in the aftermath of the mass entry, of failing to sufficiently protect Europe’s external borders.

Solidarity is — on paper — one of the pillars of the new EU migration rules, which entered into force on 12 June.

The EU Migration and Asylum Pact entails a mandatory mechanism to assist the EU's frontline members, through a “solidarity pool” that defines the help countries need to offer each other for the following year. Member states have to choose among relocating a number of asylum seekers to their territory, paying a financial contribution, or financing personnel and other operational costs.

Redistribution of migrants across Europe is the most contentious point, as governments have little appetite for it and have managed to significantly reduce the numbers in the pool for 2026, asking for exemptions.

Relocations only apply to asylum seekers and people who have already been granted protection, therefore excluding most of the irregular Moroccan migrants who entered Ceuta in July, who have been or are set to be returned to their country of origin.

However, Spain is among the countries considered "under migratory pressure" because of last year's arrivals and will benefit from help this year. A total of 8,878 migrants who have applied for asylum in Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Malta will be taken in by other countries.

On the other hand, those countries will send back to frontline states the so-called "secondary movement" migrants — people who have entered the EU through a certain member state and then managed to move irregularly to another, asking for asylum there. According to EU rules, the first-entry country still has the responsibility to assess the request.

The first cracks are beginning to appear in the new solidarity system, as seven countries asked Italy to take back migrants and the Italian government invoked further compensation — which is not foreseen by EU rules — for migrants rescued at sea by NGO ships and disembarked on Italian shores.

A bilateral meeting between Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt in early September will kick off the debate on solidarity, which is set to continue at the Home Affairs Council at the beginning of October.

The crucial point will be the definition of the solidarity pool for 2027, which could see Italy and Spain on the same side, asking for more contributions from other countries after a summer of diplomatic spats between Rome and Madrid.

The uncertain future of return hubs
A key part of the EU strategy on migration concerns the return of irregular migrants, through a new regulation finalised last June and considered the strictest ever.

It introduces the possibility for member states to send people to a country with which they have no direct or indirect connection, provided that there is a bilateral agreement to set up deportation centres in the non-EU country.

These "return hubs" can be either places of transit, where a person is placed while waiting to be returned to their country of origin, or locations where a person is expected to stay with no guarantee of onward returns.

Some European governments are actively looking for partner countries, focusing on Asia and central Africa, intending to have the first partnership agreed by the end of the year, a diplomat told Euronews.

Germany, Austria, Denmark, Greece and the Netherlands are working together on this project and are reportedly in talks with Uganda and Rwanda. Immigration ministers from the five countries are due to take stock of progress at a meeting in Copenhagen on 4 September.

The five-country working group could pave the way for a new model at EU level, despite criticism from civil society, operational difficulties and possible legal challenges.

"So far, it's not quite clear who is responsible for the migrants in a return hub, how long they can remain there and who monitors their conditions and provides effective remedies in case of human rights violations," Colombi said, pointing out that the EU legislation is vague on purpose to give states a free hand.

"I think there will be legal cases against the hubs once they are implemented on the ground, with a risk of a complete dismissal by the Court, as it happened with the UK-Rwanda migration scheme," he said.

Is There A Possibility That A Hurricane Could Make Landfall In Southern California Next Week?

I want to be very careful with what I say in this article, because the forecasts that I am going to discuss are not completely certain. Meteorologists are telling us that a tropical disturbance in the Pacific Ocean known as �95E� has now become a named storm known as Tropical Storm Marie. That just happened a little while ago. It is expected that Tropical Storm Marie will develop into a hurricane, and some models indicate that it could move in a northerly direction toward Southern California. If this storm were to make landfall in California as a hurricane, that would be an extremely unusual event, because no hurricane has ever made landfall in the entire recorded history of the state of California.

Last week, we were closely watching another storm named Karina.
Karina has now developed into a very powerful category 4 hurricane over the eastern Pacific, but the path of the storm is taking it in a westward direction far away from land.
But now Tropical Storm Marie threatens to become the third in a historic trio of hurricanes in the eastern Pacific�

The eastern Pacific is doing something remarkable. By the end of this week, three hurricanes could be active at the same time, an extraordinary burst of tropical activity being driven by a historically strong El Ni�o and very warm ocean temperatures.
Hurricane Karina rapidly intensified into a Category 4 major hurricane over the weekend, over 1000 miles west of Baja, California. Tropical Storm Lowell is expected to reach hurricane strength as early as Monday night and could move toward Hawaii.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Marie is expected to turn into Hurricane Marie soon.

And the San Francisco Chronicle is admitting that �some forecast models� are projecting that the storm could end up �slowly moving northward into southern California next Monday��

At least some forecast models showed that storm intensifying into a hurricane over the weekend and then slowly moving northward into southern California next Monday.

Wow.
I want to emphasize that this is far from certain.
But it could happen.
Thanks to the Super El Ni�o of 2026, water temperatures off the coast of Southern California are much warmer than normal right now�

The storm potential is fueled by a �super� El Ni�o brewing in the Pacific Ocean. The climate pattern creates warmer ocean temperatures in the Eastern Pacific. The El Ni�o is currently causing a marine heat wave. Southern California is currently seeing sea surface temperatures 5 to 10 degrees above normal for this time of year, NWS data shows. According to the latest reports, ocean temperatures are at 74 to 76 degrees across Los Angeles County beaches.

Water temperatures near Los Angeles aren�t supposed to be that high.
But skeptics are pointing out that they still aren�t high enough to sustain a tropical storm or a hurricane�

Tropical storms and hurricanes need ocean water temperatures to be at least 80 degrees Fahrenheit (26.5 degrees Celsius) to maintain tropical storm strength and 82 F (28 C) to intensify.
Ocean temperatures are not at those levels off the coast of California.

So we shall see what happens.
As I covered on Friday, if a hurricane actually makes landfall in California it will have enormous implications.
But we are being assured that it probably won�t happen.
Only one tropical storm has made landfall in California.
That was in 1939.
And no hurricane has ever made landfall in the entire history of the state.
In 2023, Hurricane Hilary approached California, but it was no longer a named storm once it reached land.
However, it did cause an immense amount of damage�

Although L.A. was spared a direct hit from Hilary, it did cause around $900 million in damage in the U.S. and at least $14 million in damage in Baja California Sur (there were no estimates for Baja California). There were two deaths in Baja California � two people who drowned after their vehicles were swept away by floodwaters � and a woman in California presumed dead after her mobile home was washed away in flooding along the Santa Ana River in San Bernardino County.

Elsewhere, Tropical Storm Edouard is rapidly strengthening and is poised to make landfall near the Louisiana-Texas border�

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) warned that Edouard is �poised to significantly strengthen� before striking near the Texas-Louisiana border.
Landfall will likely occur near the Louisiana-Texas border around 1pm CT (2pm ET).
Meteorologists warned that communities in its path face a life-threatening storm surge, torrential rain, flash flooding and the threat of tornadoes.

Yes, this is definitely a life-threatening storm.
If you live in that area, please take it very seriously.
It is expected to dump an enormous amount of rain in the Gulf region, and the flash flooding that it creates could catch a lot of people by surprise.
Sadly, the sudden flooding that just occurred in the Grand Canyon area caused at least two deaths�

It�s a breathtaking refuge unlike any other: a remote enclave tucked at the bottom of Arizona�s Grand Canyon, nestled between towering cliffs. Suddenly, those majestic slopes turned into raging waterfalls.
With little to no warning, hikers and campers near Bright Angel Canyon and the Phantom Ranch lodging area started running for their lives Saturday as torrential rainfall funneled down the canyon and idyllic creeks morphed into violent torrents.
At least two people were killed and one person remains unaccounted for after flash flooding washed out footbridges and campgrounds on the canyon floor. Many more were imperiled by muddy water racing through the narrow ravines, sparking frantic rescue missions for dozens.

We have been experiencing so many extremely violent storms in 2026.
What we are witnessing is not normal.
Speaking of not normal, Mount Sinabung in Indonesia just sent a column of volcanic ash 11,500 feet into the air�

The U.S. Embassy in Indonesia has issued a natural disaster alert after renewed volcanic activity at Mount Sinabung, as Indonesian authorities warn that further eruptions are possible in a region that includes popular tourist destinations.
The embassy issued its Natural Disaster Alert on September 1, a day after Mount Sinabung erupted in Karo Regency, North Sumatra, sending a thick column of ash about 3,500 meters, roughly 11,500 feet, above its summit. There have been no immediate reports of casualties, evacuations or disruptions to flights in the region.
Indonesia�s Geological Agency said visual and instrumental monitoring showed increased volcanic activity and warned that the August 31 event was an �initial eruption,� meaning a larger eruption could follow. It raised Mount Sinabung�s alert level from II to Level III, or Siaga, the second-highest level in the country�s four-tier system, effective as of Monday afternoon.

Volcanoes are roaring to life all over the planet, and there have been so many major earthquakes this summer.
But most of the experts continue to insist that this is just temporary and that conditions will soon return to normal.
Of course my perspective is that much more chaos is ahead of us.
So many of the things that I warned about years ahead of time are now playing out right in front of our eyes.
Now we will watch Tropical Storm Marie.
If it becomes a hurricane and it actually slams into Southern California, that will be a truly historic event.

The Department of War (DOW) has released unclassified images of suspected drug-smuggling vessels under U.S. military surveillance and issued a direct warning to traffickers, nearly one year after the first strike in Operation Southern Spear.The photos from 2025 � dated Oct. 27, Oct. 29 and Dec. 4 � show boats speeding through open water, including at least one vessel carrying apparent narcotics, according to the DOW. "Nearly one year after the first strike, the message to narco-terrorists remains unchanged: if you traffic deadly illicit narcotics and threaten the American people, we hunt you down, we will find you, and we will kill you," War Department Press Secretary Kingsley Wilson said in a statement.
The warning comes as the Trump administration continues to characterize the fight against Latin American cartels as an "armed conflict." The images were released as part of an effort to publicize the military's ongoing interdiction campaign, which has drawn both support and criticism over its legality and transparency.
Operation Southern Spear Statistics and Intent

According to the DOW, Operation Southern Spear has carried out 67 strikes, including the first on Sept. 2, 2025. Wilson said the operation has disrupted trafficking networks, forced traffickers to adapt their methods, and removed "dangerous narcoterrorists." The strikes have drawn legal challenges, with the U.S. government moving to dismiss a lawsuit brought by families of two Trinidadian men killed in an Oct. 14, 2025 strike, arguing the federal court lacks jurisdiction ^[4]. The DOW has reported at least 200 people killed in 62 strikes against suspected drug boats since September 2025 ^[4]. Meanwhile, Congress has threatened to cut Hegseth's travel budget until the War Department releases full videos of the lethal strikes ^[5].
Administration's Broader Strategy and International Agreements

The Trump administration has described the fight as an "armed conflict" with cartels in Latin America, according to officials. Hegseth said during a visit to Panama that Colombia, Guatemala and Honduras had agreed to allow the U.S. to conduct joint operations against criminal groups on their soil, though Guatemala City denied an agreement had been reached ^[6]. As reported earlier this year, parents were outraged after 19-year-old Flores Ortiz groped over a dozen girls �in between their legs� at a high school in Fairfax County, Virginia.

19-year-old Israel Flores Ortiz was only in the 11th grade.

Why did authorities allow a 19-year-old man � who is in this country illegally � to sexually assault minor teen girls in the hallways at school for several months??

�There�s a group of about 12 individuals that have reported this assault,� one mother told 7News.

�It was all perpetrated by a single individual who is a stranger to the girls. He just sneakily walked up behind them and put his hand in between their legs,� she said.

�It was not just a butt smack or a butt grab. It was a groping of a private area. It had been occurring for several months,� she added.

ICE told WJLA reporter Nick Minock that Israel Flores Ortiz illegally entered the US in 2024 on Joe Biden�s open border invitation.

Flores Ortiz was charged with nine counts of assault and battery � a misdemeanor!

Parents were outraged that Flores Ortiz was not charged with sexual assault.

Earlier this year, a judge found Flores guilty on nine assault charges.

A ninth grader who was sexually assaulted by Flores told WJLA�s Nick Minock that she is constantly looking over her shoulder because she is afraid she will be groped again.

This fall, the Republican National Committee will take one of the most consequential election integrity cases in a generation before the U.S. Supreme Court.

At stake is a principle so basic that most Americans would be shocked it is even being debated: Can states verify citizenship before someone is added to their voter rolls?

The answer should be obvious.

Citizenship is required to vote in federal elections. States should be allowed to check it.

But after years of lawsuits from far-left Democrats determined to weaken election safeguards, that question is now headed to the highest court in the land.

More than two decades ago, Arizona voters overwhelmingly approved Proposition 200, requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote. The state later strengthened those protections by giving election officials additional tools to verify citizenship and maintain accurate voter rolls.

Arizona lawmakers and voters understood something simple: if citizenship is required to vote, election officials should be able to confirm that requirement is met.

Instead of supporting those commonsense protections, extremist Democrats and activist groups sued to stop them.

For years, they have fought in court to block citizenship verification requirements, challenged efforts to remove noncitizens from voter rolls, and opposed safeguards designed to ensure that only eligible citizens participate in American elections. Time and again, they have argued that states should have fewer tools to verify voter eligibility and fewer options to maintain accurate voter rolls.

That position defies common sense.

When it comes to protecting our elections, Democrats suddenly claim verifying voter eligibility is �burdensome,� �discriminatory,� or even �voter suppression.� Americans prove who they are every day, whether they are boarding a plane, opening a bank account, or accessing basic services.

The Supreme Court must now decide whether states have the authority to enforce one of the most fundamental qualifications for voting: American citizenship.

That authority should not even be in question. The RNC is leading the legal battle to defend Arizona�s proof-of-citizenship requirement after Democrats went to court to block the law and prevent the state from removing noncitizens from its voter rolls. The case will help determine whether states retain the power to protect the integrity of their own elections.

States should not be forced to ignore evidence that registrants may be ineligible. Election officials should not be prevented from verifying citizenship. Courts should not stand in the way of safeguards that strengthen confidence in election outcomes.

At its core, this case asks whether states will keep the ability to enforce election laws as written or whether activist groups can continue using the courts to dismantle commonsense protections that voters themselves support.

And the stakes extend far beyond Arizona.

Across the country, many of the same left-wing groups opposing Arizona�s law have pursued a broader campaign to dismantle our nation�s election security measures. They�ve challenged voter ID laws, resisted efforts to clean voter rolls, opposed measures designed to verify voter eligibility, and repeatedly moved to weaken safeguards that help ensure elections are conducted fairly and transparently.

The RNC has fought back every step of the way.

Today, the RNC is engaged in over 170 election integrity lawsuits nationwide. From North Carolina to Georgia to Michigan to Texas to Virginia, we are fighting for voter ID, protections for mail-in ballots, accurate voter rolls, and stopping noncitizen voting.

The Lindsay Clancy murder trial has become a culture war phenomenon. It has been one of the hottest topics on social media for weeks, and now everyone is waiting for the verdict. Even though there are so many things of extraordinary importance that are happening in our world right now, much of the population is absolutely fixated on this case. This is particularly true for one particular demographic. Large numbers of liberal women have become obsessed with Lindsay Clancy, and they have been following this trial with a passion. If Lindsay Clancy is ultimately found guilty, those women will go completely and totally nuts.

After a third day of deliberations, a lot of us were shocked when the jury was still unable to come to a verdict and was dismissed until Tuesday morning�

The jury weighing Lindsay Clancy�s fate asked to go home for the evening and has been dismissed until Tuesday morning, ending another day of deliberations without a verdict.
The panel of nine women and three men, led by a female foreperson, must decide whether Clancy was criminally responsible when she strangled her three children, or whether, as the defense argues, she was in the grip of postpartum psychosis and could not appreciate the wrongfulness of her actions or conform her conduct to the law. Prosecutors contend she knew right from wrong and acted deliberately.
Jurors may find Clancy guilty of first-degree murder, second-degree murder or manslaughter, acquit her, or find her not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility.

I think that it is pretty obvious that the jury is deadlocked.

On Monday, two of the female jurors were wearing pink.
Of course wearing pink has become a way for liberal women all over the country to demonstrate that they support Lindsay Clancy.
So that is really bad news for the prosecution.
The stakes are incredibly high, because if Clancy is found guilty she will go to prison for a very long time, but if she is found not criminally responsible she will continue to remain at Tewksbury State Hospital�

If Clancy is convicted of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, or manslaughter, she will go to prison.
If the jury finds she is not criminally responsible, Clancy will be required to continue her stay at Tewksbury State Hospital, where her case will be reviewed periodically.

Everyone agrees that she killed her three kids.

The question is whether she understood what she was doing or not.
To me, the answer is obvious.
Prior to the murders, Lindsay Clancy conducted numerous web searches that clearly indicated what was on her mind�

Yeah, she definitely planned this in advance.

And when the day arrived, Lindsay Clancy �took each child to the basement and strangled them individually��

The prosecutors called forensic psychiatrist Dr. Gregory Saathoff, who said Clancy took each child to the basement and strangled them individually. Clancy told doctors she felt like a puppet while she did it. Saathoff had an answer for that: �Children are not puppets.�
�You know, just like adults, children have a will to survive � a strong, strong will to survive. I think it�s just part of being human,� Saathoff said. �I mean, they � are active. They can walk. They can run.�

We are talking about evil on an unspeakable level.

She knew that her husband would try to stop her, and so she sent him out to run some errands�

I have no idea how anyone could possibly want to defend someone like that.
Sadly, we live at a time when murderers can become cultural heroes to those on the left.
Over the past several weeks, there have been countless videos circulating on social media where women have been sharing slogans such as �I am Lindsay Clancy� and �Same, Lindsay��

On TikTok and Instagram, hundreds, if not thousands, of women are empathizing with or rallying around Clancy: from making statements like �I am Lindsay Clancy,� to posting videos of them holding their own children saying, �Same, Lindsay,� to show that they, too, commiserate, presumably, with the desire to kill their children.

We are not just talking about a handful of women on the fringes of society.
This has been happening in large numbers.
When a woman shares the slogan �Same, Lindsay� on social media, that suggests that she has thought about doing the same thing that Lindsay Clancy did�

Throughout the trial, huge crowds of Lindsay Clancy fans showed up to support her every day.
And over 31,000 liberal women have actually given money to a support fund for Lindsay Clancy. To date, that fund has now raised more than a million dollars�

Viral videos show large crowds of women rallying for Lindsay Clancy, with more than 31,000 now contributing more than $1 million to support a woman who methodically researched, planned, and then murdered her three children.

Making Lindsay Clancy into some sort of a folk hero doesn�t make any sense at all.
But somehow it happened.
And it is inevitable that there will be copycats.
In fact, during the trial a 22-year-old mother in North Dakota took a knife and cut the throats of her three children�

Kailey Renae Erhart, 22, faces two counts of murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, terrorizing, and domestic violence. Bond was set at $3 million cash. A judge cited the �extreme violence� and threat to the community, according to Law and Crime.
Her five-month-old and three-year-old children died from their injuries. Her one-year-old son survived after undergoing extensive surgery and is expected to make a full physical recovery.

I think that we are in far more trouble as a society than most people realize.
If Lindsay Clancy is found guilty, liberal women all over America will have an epic meltdown.
But I don�t think that is going to happen, because it appears that at least a couple of Lindsay Clancy supporters are on the jury.
Sadly, it appears that there are supporters of Lindsay Clancy virtually everywhere.
And that is one of the most alarming things about this case.
It is easy to lock up a single lunatic, but what can we do when there are vast hordes of them running around all over the place?

A Haitian migrant is accused of murdering a woman and strangling another woman outside of a duplex in Lee County, Florida.

Late last week, Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno announced the arrest of 28-year-old Whycliff Longin of Haiti for allegedly murdering his aunt, Amadette Longin, and strangling his cousin.

Whycliff�s cousin told police that she woke up to him strangling her. The woman said she broke free of Whycliff�s grip and hid in the residence�s bathroom.

When police arrived on the scene, Whycliff was found and arrested at the duplex next door. When officers searched the residence, they found Amadette Longin�s lifeless body. Amadette�s family told police that she had given Whycliff a place to stay.

Longin has been charged with murder, attempted murder, sexual battery, and burglary involving battery. He remains in Lee County custody and Immigration and Customs Enforcement has lodged a detainer against him.

President Donald Trump�s Department of Justice (DOJ) has successfully revoked naturalized American citizenship from an Indian immigrant convicted of raping a woman at knifepoint in May 2011 in New York City.

�This Department took this case across the finish line, and we will continue to move expeditiously on denaturalization referrals,� Attorney General Todd Blanche said. �Fraudulently obtained citizenship will not protect criminals from justice.�

Gurmeet Singh first entered the United States from India in February 1992 on a six-month visitor visa.

Despite overstaying his visa for years, Singh was able to secure a green card after he was sponsored for a family-based visa in June 2000.

Before filing his paperwork to naturalize, Singh was working as a cab driver when he picked up a woman who fell asleep during her ride, only to bring her to a location with no witnesses.

The woman woke up to Singh on top of her with a knife to her throat. Singh threatened her, tied her up, gagged her, and blindfolded her before ripping her clothes off and raping her. The woman was able to break free and seek help.

Singh did not disclose the rape in his naturalization petition, and he was approved for naturalized citizenship in October 2011. Singh was convicted of the rape afterward.

�American citizenship is not a shield for criminals,� Blanche said. �Gurmeet Singh, a convicted rapist from India, is no longer a U.S. citizen. He concealed a rape and kidnapping during the naturalization process, and a federal court has now revoked his citizenship.�

Is this the year that Gov. Gavin Newsom allows students without legal status to legally work at California�s public colleges and universities?
A state bill with wide support from Democrats but opposed by Republicans seeks to do just that by adopting an untested legal theory that argues a 1980s federal law banning employment for people without legal status doesn�t apply to state agencies. But university leaders and Newsom worry that acting on the theory could put the state on another collision course with the Trump administration.
The bill easily cleared the Legislature Friday, including a yes vote from one Republican. The bill now heads to Newsom�s desk.
Assembly Bill 713 by Assemblymember Jos� Luis Solache, a Democrat from Lakewood, is seemingly straightforward: The University of California, California State University and community colleges cannot disqualify students without legal status from campus employment. If it becomes law, it would kick in Jan. 6.

The systems together enrolled an estimated 60,000 students without legal status in 2023 and most were in the community colleges. Some attend private colleges and wouldn�t be covered by the bill.

Leading the charge for this right to work on campuses are students without legal status, immigration rights groups and legal scholars. Access to safe working conditions for students without legal status is a high priority because they�re ineligible for federal Pell grants � up to $7,400 annually � and federal student loans that come with more borrower protections than ones offered by private lenders. California awards eligible in-state students tuition waivers regardless of immigration status, so many students without legal status can at least attend a public institution tuition-free.

�While California has a longstanding commitment to expanding access, affordability, and student success in higher education, our undocumented students continue to face significant financial and structural barriers,� Solache said at a bill hearing in June.
Newsom vetoed a similar bill in 2024, echoing a chief worry put forward by the University of California: Any effort to employ students without proper status would incur the wrath of the Trump administration, which could attempt to pull some or all of the $17 billion in annual federal support the system gets.

The state�s Department of Finance is recommending a no vote on Solache�s bill. The fear of federal litigation and budget cuts are the main reasons why.
The UC itself abandoned its own review of employing students without legal status in 2024 for those reasons. Students at the public meeting cried and shouted at the board�s regents when they made the decision.
Some Republicans cited the risk of the Trump administration cutting federal higher education funding as a reason for their opposition to the current bill.

�If we�re going to move something forward like this that then threatens 100% of all of the students, I think that�s irresponsible for us as legislators,� said Assemblymember David Tangipa, a Republican from Fresno, at a January bill hearing. He voted no on the bill Friday.

After Newsom vetoed the 2024 bill, which sailed through the Legislature with minimal opposition, some students sued the UC. A state appellate court ruled that UC�s argument that the federal government might sue the system was an abuse of discretion under the state�s law banning employment and housing discrimination. The court said UC�s policy of not hiring students without legal status was legally indefensible unless it can show that federal law requires the UC to continue its policy of not hiring them. The UC appealed, but the state Supreme Court let the appellate ruling stand.
The court ordered UC to pay more than $500,000 in legal fees on behalf of the plaintiffs, a student and a former lecturer.
It�s unclear if Solache�s bill can even force the UC to comply if it becomes law. Since 1879 the state constitution has granted the system a high degree of autonomy.
What is the legal theory being tested?

The bill, like its predecessor that Newsom vetoed, takes its cues from a team of UCLA scholars who advanced a theory in 2022 that a federal law banning employers from hiring workers without legal status doesn�t apply to state employers. The architects of the legal argument say the law in question, 1986�s Immigration Reform and Control Act, never actually listed state agencies as employers covered by the law.
Other laws passed by Congress clearly included states in restrictions that also applied to the private sector or federal employers. The omission, the UCLA scholars say, means Congress never intended to tie the hands of state agencies on whom they can hire. An analyst at the state Senate�s judiciary committee also noted that Congress may be unable to dictate whom states can hire, because that undermines protections for states� rights.
Student advocates then persuaded the UC Board of Regents to consider adopting that legal theory so students without legal status could obtain campus jobs. But momentum for that policy stalled, culminating with the UC dropping the plan.
Student voice

Some students have found a way to work while enrolled despite the ban on campus jobs.
Working without proper immigration status is not illegal, but employers cannot knowingly employ individuals who lack proper legal status, wrote University of Oklahoma law professor Kit Johnson in a 2022 law article. Employers often take advantage of the legal precarity of immigrants without legal status by paying them less than they�d earn with proper legal status.
A legal workaround, she writes, is for such immigrants to form limited liability companies, or LLCs. That business structure makes them consultants hired for a job, as opposed to employees.
Some students without legal status at the UC did just that, or they formed similarly structured cooperatives. But not every campus student can form an LLC or knows to do that.
Is student data safe from federal inquiry?

Backers of Solache�s bill and the Senate�s judiciary committee analysis say students without legal status employed at a campus aren�t at greater risk of immigration action, despite concerns raised by skeptics of the proposed policy to hire them. The judiciary committee wrote that state agencies arguably aren�t required to verify employment eligibility for roles that aren�t funded by the federal government. They also say federal and state laws bar universities from sharing personal student information without that student�s consent.
But public California universities have shared student and personnel information with the federal government under the Trump administration�s investigations into alleged campus antisemitism. Critics say the administration exploited antisemitism accusations to coerce campuses across the country into settlements that align with the conservative values of the White House. The Cal State system settled with staff and faculty unions after they sued over the disclosure of personal information, promising to alert workers before their information is released to federal authorities investigating antisemitism.
Advocates of the bill also argue that the risk of apprehension and deportation is not reason enough to oppose it. Students understand the risk and that doesn�t change if they work legally or not.
Bill addresses questions the appellate court wouldn�t

As a result of the lawsuit students and advocates filed against the UC, the court sided with the plaintiffs because it found that the university�s employment policy discriminated against students based on their immigration status, which state law prohibits. It challenged the UC to provide an argument for why it thinks the federal government would go after the system for establishing this policy. Importantly, the court did not order the UC to begin hiring students without legal status.

�The UC now has to either end the discrimination against undocumented students or defend its decision to do so by reference to federal law, neither of which it has done to date,� wrote in an email Ahilan Arulanantham, one of the UCLA scholars behind the legal theory and a counsel in the plaintiffs� lawsuit against the UC.
Omar Rodriguez, a UC spokesperson, wrote in an email that the �UC is evaluating its options in light of the court�s ruling and will take appropriate action when that evaluation has concluded.�
�UC does not have a position on AB 713,� he added.

President Joe Biden and his deputies are responsible for the hundreds of Americans killed by migrant truckers, Homeland Security chief Markwayne Mullin told reporters during a Monday press conference.

�These individuals are dangerous, and because of the failure from the previous administration, from the Biden administration, they�ve killed hundreds of people, and unfortunately injured thousands,� he said.

Officials told the media that migrant truckers have killed 239 Americans.

Mullin continued:

Thank God, President Trump was elected by the American people to restore law and order and safety back onto our streets. Because one death, one permanent injury, is one too many, and it was 100 percent preventable. Who, in the Biden administration, thought it was a great idea to put people on the streets that couldn�t read our road signs, driving 80,000 pound rigs, without even having to take an English test or a driving test?

Biden�s border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, welcomed millions of migrants and steered them into accommodation, legal protections, and jobs such as highway trucking. He repeatedly justified the policy of extracting migrants from poor countries as an economic strategy to grow the economy via �Bidenomics.�

Biden�s migrants have also killed many Americans in crimes and drunk-driving accidents, as well as when driving 18-wheelers.

But Mayorkas and other Biden deputies lured thousands of migrants to their deaths on the trek northwards by dangling easy entry into the United States. They also stood by while many migrants died while working off-the-books for unsupervised companies.

A reporter at the press conference pushed back against Mullin�s criticism of Biden�s welcome for dangerous migrant truckers, prompting an angry response from both Mullin and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.

�The [conversation] here has been strongly about illegals [and] foreign drivers, but [they] account, according to U.S. DOT stats I see, for one percent of the [safety] issue,� the reporter said.

Mullin answered, while pointing to an injured girl on the side of the stage:

Are you saying 1 percent is okay? Because � 1 percent is one [person] too many � Every single illegal that maims or kills an individual is 100 percent preventable. I�m trying to prevent every one of them. I don�t care if it�s a fraction of 1 percent � I�m coming after you. I�m removing you from the road because it should never take place � Every death at the hands of an illegal is one too many � Are you willing to take that 1 percent if it was your daughter?

This does have to do with those who�ve come into the country illegally, but it also has to do with people who are in the country lawfully, but they�re not being trained, and they�re not following the laws and the rules we�ve set up to keep Americans safe on the roadway.

Establishment media outlets minimized or ignored the dramatic press conference.

Duffy and his deputies have pulled more than 30,000 drivers off the road, closed down more than 250 driving schools, and counted 239 deaths from migrant drivers.
