The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a crackdown on food stamp fraud (SNAP) and the arrests of five illegal migrants who unlawfully exploited the program for benefits meant to aid needy American citizens.

DHS says that the arrests are just the beginning of a new Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) campaign to ferret out and arrest migrants for illegally accessing SNAP benefits.

�These arrests mark the opening salvo in a sustained, large-scale ICE operation specifically targeting illegal aliens who have fraudulently accessed SNAP benefits that American taxpayers fund exclusively for U.S. citizens in need. Every one of these individuals entered the country unlawfully, then proceeded to draw from a program designed to feed struggling American families, in some cases while carrying criminal records,� DHS said in a statement on Wednesday.

�Illegal aliens who have no right to be here in the first place are the last people who should be using SNAP benefits and other forms of welfare,� said DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin.

�These programs are for Americans only. Even non-violent illegal alien crime can still have devastating consequences when they�re defrauding the American taxpayer. The illegal alien fraudsters that we�ve already arrested and deported are just a drop in the bucket, and the Trump Administration is committed to going after all these thieves and bringing them to justice,� the statement said.

The latest arrests include Cuban national Elizabeth Povea Rodriguez, and Haitian nationals Jhensly Charles, Louis Jean, Wilbert Jean Baptiste, and Rubstony Junior Theodore, all of whom are in the U.S. illegally.

DHS uncovered nearly $42 million in SNAP fraud in this first campaign to end fraud and abuse.

�These schemes siphoned millions from taxpayers and robbed struggling Americans of the benefits they depend on so fraudsters could use them for their own selfish purposes,� said U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche. �Through our partnership with the Department of Agriculture, this nationwide surge exposed and disrupted criminal networks that targeted vulnerable American families. The Department of Justice will continue working to root out fraud in every federal agency and program.�

The U.S. Attorney�s Office for the District of Massachusetts has announced that officials in Boston have taken down an alleged fraud ring that arranged for hundreds of sham marriages between migrants and United States citizens.

U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley made the announcement Wednesday morning during a news conference in which she said that six people have been charged regarding an alleged scheme that has been in operation for more than a decade in the Bay State arranging for fake marriages for the purpose of attaining legal migration status for illegal migrants.

One of those arrested for the alleged scheme even bragged that they could get away with the fraud because Massachusetts is a �sanctuary state.�

The six individuals charged with conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens, harboring illegal aliens, conspiracy to commit marriage fraud, and marriage fraud include Fall River, Massachusetts, residents Jennifer Gonzalez, Erica Daniels, Chreise Alejandro, Amara Pugh, and Jaylin Hill and Attleboro resident Jessica Tavares.

Officials allege that Gonzalez ran the business, which took money from illegal aliens to be paired up with an American citizen to arrange a sham marriage to fraudulently obtain immigration status. In turn Gonzalez paid Daniels, Alejandro, Tavares, and Hill � all U.S. citizens � to engage in the sham marriages over and over again. The migrant would then submit the fake marriage documents as evidence to attain legal immigration status.

Investigators say that Gonzales arranged up to 20 sham marriages a year over the last decade, charging up to $40,000 per fake marriage. They say Gonzales earned hundreds of thousands of dollars with the scheme.

In video evidence presented by investigators, Gonzales is heard advising migrants about what to do in Massachusetts. In one video she told a migrant, �I believe that you can, okay, because this state is a sanctuary, like Trump doesn�t like this state because the government from here, the state defends us very much.� In another she noted that Massachusetts was the �best place for you to be,� and she also told migrants that Massachusetts is a good place for them, explaining, �You get health insurance. Um, you get a lot of help as an immigrant here.�

The charges of harboring illegal aliens and conspiracy to do the same each provide for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000. The charges of marriage fraud and conspiracy to do the same each provide for a sentence of up to five years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000, the U.S. Attorney�s office notes.

More than 100 gang members were arrested in less than a week, including members of MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, federal officials announced on Monday.

From Oct. 4 to Oct. 10, agents took 131 alleged gang-affiliated individuals into custody, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Of those, 22 were associated with MS-13 affiliates, and 13 were tied to Tren de Aragua, the department said.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) made 129 of the arrests, while Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) handled the remaining two.
"The best that America has to offer are on the frontlines every day to ensure that the worst of humanity cannot threaten or harm innocent Americans," DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in a statement about the gang member arrests.
"Under President Trump's leadership, we are smashing the gangs and cartels, making it impossible for them to do business in America, and removing their members from our country. Arresting and deporting illegal aliens, especially gang members, is how we make America safe again."
Among those arrested is Gustavo Adolfo Flores-Ramirez, an alleged MS-13 member from El Salvador. Flores-Ramirez is wanted in El Salvador for aggravated homicide, aggravated femicide, rape of a minor or incapacitated person, illegal handling of firearms, illicit grouping, and crimes involving public peace. He was arrested by ICE in Las Vegas on Oct. 14. Flores-Ramirez had been arrested by Border Patrol in 2021, deported to Mexico, and then re-entered illegally.
Jose Luis Perez-Arrias, an alleged Venezuelan Tren de Aragua member described as a suspected hitman, was arrested in Tallahassee, Florida, on Oct. 14. He entered through Texas in October 2023, and the Biden administration released him, according to DHS.
Emerson Jossiel Calderon-Hernandez, an alleged MS-13 member from El Salvador, was taken into custody in Washington on Oct. 13. His criminal history includes a conviction for second-degree assault and arrests for attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, armed robbery, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and false imprisonment, DHS said. He entered through Texas in August 2012 and was released under the Obama administration.
On Oct. 13, agents in Denver arrested a 14-year-old Venezuelan associated with Los Piratas, a Tren de Aragua faction. He unlawfully possessed a Glock 48 pistol and faces charges of first-degree murder, criminal attempt with extreme indifference, first-degree assault with extreme indifference, first-degree kidnapping, aggravated criminal extortion, illegal discharge of a weapon, and conspiracy, according to DHS.
Gang Arrest Totals

Since Jan. 20, 2025, ICE has arrested 1,965 MS-13 affiliates and 1,553 Tren de Aragua affiliates.
In June, DHS said ICE had arrested more than 10,000 gang members so far during President Donald Trump's second term.
"These 10,000 criminals committed heinous crimes, including murder, assault with a deadly weapon, drug trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, robbery, and extortion," DHS stated.
Mullin said many of the 10,000 arrested gang members were released into the United States under the Biden administration.
Earlier, DHS reported that ICE arrested about 7,000 gang members during the first year of the term.

A federal judge on Tuesday sentenced a Guatemalan man extradited to the U.S. over his role in a 2022 human smuggling attempt that ended in the deaths of 53 migrants who had been transported in a sweltering tractor-trailer in Texas.

U.S. and Guatemalan prosecutors called RigobertoRamon Miranda Orozco's sentencing another step toward justice in one of the deadliest smuggling attempts along the U.S.-Mexico border. Miranda Orozco, 50, was sentenced to 30 years in prison after admitting to arranging travel and accommodations for two people who died and another who was seriously injured.

Nearly 20 people in the U.S. and Guatemala have been convicted since the discovery of the abandoned trailer full of bodies horrified communities accustomed to seeing their young people leave, trying to flee poverty or violence in Central America and Mexico.

“It was clear that they suffered tremendously in their last few hours on this earth,” U.S. Attorney Justin Simmons told reporters at a news conference following the sentencing.

People tried to ‘claw their way out’ of a trailer with no air conditioning
The trailer’s air conditioning malfunctioned and would not blow cool air to the people trapped inside during the sweltering, three-hour ride in June 2022 from the border city of Laredo to San Antonio, authorities said. Prosecutors have said migrants paid up to $15,000 each to be taken across the U.S. border.

When the abandoned trailer was opened on a remote San Antonio back road, 48 migrants were dead. Another 16 were taken to hospitals, where five more died.

Simmons said investigators found clothing passengers had shed to cool off and claw marks on the trailer’s walls.

“They were literally trying to claw their way out,” he said.

Twenty-one of those who died were from Guatemala, Simmons said.

Miranda Orozco’s attorney, Alfonso Cabanas Jr., called the sentence “very tough.” He said his client was in Guatemala at the time and had no control over the type of transportation the migrants would take to San Antonio nor did he know the air conditioning was malfunctioning.

Cabanas said he doesn’t think harsh punishments will “make a dent” in such operations.

“What we do need is comprehensive immigration reform,” Cabanas said.

Other defendants still await sentencing
U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia sentenced Miranda Orozco, who was arrested in Guatemala in 2024 and extradited to the U.S. the following year.

He pleaded guilty in July to conspiracy to bring a migrant into the U.S. resulting in death, aiding and abetting bringing a migrant into the U.S. resulting in death, as well as aiding and abetting bringing a migrant into the U.S. resulting in serious bodily injury, prosecutors said.

Simmons said prosecutors in Guatemala were integral in securing convictions for Miranda Orozco and others. Simmons was joined by Guatemalan Attorney General Gabriel Garc�a Luna, who reflected on the suffering the migrants inside the tractor-trailer endured.

“They paid for a promise, and those who cashed in on that promise abandoned them to their fate,” Garc�a Luna said.

Last year, Felipe Orduna-Torres, described by prosecutors as the leader of the smuggling operations inside the U.S., was sentenced to life in prison in the U.S. Armando Gonzales-Ortega, his top assistant, was sentenced to 83 years.

Sentencing dates have been set for more people, including the truck’s driver.

The tragedy is the deadliest among those that have claimed thousands of lives in recent decades as people attempt to cross the U.S. border from Mexico. Ten migrants died in 2017 after they were trapped inside a truck parked at a Walmart in San Antonio.

In 2003, the bodies of 19 migrants were found in a sweltering truck southeast of San Antonio.

Euro MEPs move to tackle Muslim Brotherhood and Islamist subversion of society in historic vote

The European Parliament has voted to counter the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood and related Islamist networks in a move criticised as Islamophobic by Left-wing opponents.
On October 8, the resolution to combat 'Islamist entryism' was adopted by 381 votes to 167, with 15 abstentions.

The resolution calls for entities and individuals linked to the Muslim Brotherhood to be put on the EU list of terrorist organisations, and for the establishment of a national list of hate preachers at EU level.
It distinguished between political Islam and Islam as a religion, which 'is not inherently political or hostile', adding that 'the overwhelming majority of those who observe Islam as a religion reject violence against civilians in the name of Islam'.
The strategy of Islamist entryism, however, relies 'on the organised confusion between Islam as a religion, which falls under freedom of conscience, and political Islam as a societal project, which seeks to produce collective norms, derogatory regimes or community allegiances placed above common law'.
The resolution says Islamist entryism contributes to the development of parallel communities and to practices incompatible with democratic principles, the rule of law and EU values.

Following the vote, the European Council will now decide whether to enact the proposals.
MEP C�line Imart of France, who sponsored the resolution, called the vote 'a historic victory because it is a European first'.
'For the first time, Europe has voted on a text that tackles Islamist entryism and the Muslim Brotherhood,' she said.

MEP C�line Imart of France, who sponsored the resolution, called the vote 'a historic victory because it is a European first'

'I've broken a taboo that Europe has been dragging around like a chain: this victory signifies a major doctrinal shift in the institutions. Proud to have carried this text through to the end,' Imart wrote on X.
'Thank you to the negotiators from the other groups with whom I had the pleasure of working - excluding the socialists and the far left, who boycotted the text. We were able to transcend partisan divides on a major issue for our societies and our youth.'

The resolution, led by the European People�s Party, was rejected by the European Network Against Racism (ENAR), which published a statement following its passing.
'ENAR condemns in the strongest possible terms the racist and Islamophobic resolution �on the need for an EU strategy to counter Islamist entryism and the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood network� proposed by the European People�s Party (EPP) and passed by the European Parliament today,' the statement said.
'This resolution is a stain on the European Parliament and marks a profoundly shameful day in Europe�s history.
'A Parliament that should defend democracy, equality and fundamental rights has instead given institutional legitimacy to a racist politics of suspicion that casts Muslim communities, Muslim-led civil society, organisations combating Islamophobia, and those who defend their rights as inherently suspect.'

The resolution also deplored the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe and 'condemned attempts to exploit the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to promote anti-Semitic narratives and deepen social polarisation'.
It considered the concealment of the face in public spaces 'to pose challenges to public security, identification and law enforcement'.
The resolution supported national measures prohibiting full-face coverings, including the niqab and burqa, in spaces and premises open to the public as a necessary step to ensure 'social cohesion, public safety and the protection of the rights and freedoms of others, in particular women'.
The European Commission has been called on to ensure that the 'active promotion of Islamist ideologies which advocate the subjugation of women, anti-Semitism or hatred towards Christians' has legal and administrative consequences.

It has also been asked to ensure that no EU funds can reach or benefit, directly or indirectly, entities linked to networks included on the EU list of terrorist organisations.
The resolution calls for a comprehensive overview of all cases of EU funds awarded to persons and entities suspected of links to the Muslim Brotherhood or political Islam.
Responding to the resolution, Lorenzo Vidino, director of the programme on extremism at George Washington University, told Fox News: 'This is something that the French and the Austrian governments have been pushing for almost a decade.'
He added that the voting reflects a gap between the Right and the Left, 'with the Right voting almost entirely in favor of the resolution, and a good part of the Left, although with some notable exceptions, voting against it'.
When asked about the differences between Europe and America's approach to the Muslim Brotherhood, Mr Vidino said the European way is 'a bit more nuanced' than that of Washington, where the Trump administration has already designated the Muslim Brotherhood and its branches terrorist organisations.

He added that Europe sees the Muslim Brotherhood 'mostly through the lenses of entryism, of subversion, of a group that destroys the fabrics of society� a matter of a threat to democracy, but a lot of the activities of the Brotherhood might be legal if taken individually'.
He doubted whether the resolution would have a 'major tangible impact', however.
'Islamist groups are very good at camouflaging their activities,' he said.
'This vote is a victory, but it is also a starting point,' Ms Imart said. 'The Commission and the Council must now take action, and I will make sure they do.'

Italy�s government is sending 500 soldiers to Milan and vowed a �firm response from the state� after protests against the cost of living descended into clashes with police, vandalism and looting. Further demonstrations are planned on Saturday.
The government of the far-right prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, also announced new security measures, including an offence of violent participation in ⁠a demonstration, tougher penalties for ⁠rioters, and financial liability for parents whose children take part in vandalism and looting..

In France, the interior minister, Laurent Nu�ez, said on Tuesday some military forces would be deployed during ⁠protests planned for this Saturday, �mostly to free police and gendarmes in their mission to maintain order�.
The French prime minister, S�bastien Lecornu, told parliament that the police presence during Saturday�s demonstrations ⁠would be �massive� and that his goal was for an �immediate return to order� *after last weekend�s violent riots.
Police in Milan, in northern Italy, detained 271 young people after hooded youths set bins ablaze, ransacked shops and smashed windows, including in the area surrounding the city�s cathedral, during the unrest on Saturday and Sunday.
Police used teargas and water cannon to disperse the violent groups, who were on the fringes of an initially peaceful protest. Of those detained, 32 have been arrested, including 23 minors and 13 foreign nationals, police said on Monday. A further 28 people were reported to judicial authorities.

Images of Saturday�s clashes in France, including mobs looting shops and public buildings set on fire, prompted several countries including the US, China and Germany to issue travel advice for their citizens. Nearly 2,400 people were arrested in one of France�s most violent recent bouts of unrest.
French authorities on Monday announced partial curfews in several cities, including Paris, Bordeaux, Lille and Nice, and after a night of relative calm, Lecornu said on Tuesday that new curfews would be imposed where they were needed.
Authorities in Paris renewed Monday night�s curfew, which would apply from 11pm on Tuesday until 6am on Wednesday to the Place de la R�publique, where many of the weekend clashes took place, and in the central Les Halles shopping district.
Paris police ordered a temporary ban on people carrying cans or bottles of petrol or gas, and banned masks and helmets in some areas. A man was also arrested in connection with the burning down of the historic town hall in Limoges.

The Italian press agency Ansa reported that one of the security measures being considered in the country was aimed at second-generation immigrant youths, known as maranza � a slang term used to describe gangs of young people, usually from marginalised areas.
Many luxury stores in Milan�s fashion district have stayed closed amid fears of further unrest. Brands including Chanel, Tiffany *and Dior removed merchandise from *their windows as a precaution.
Other stores ransacked included the sports retailers Decathlon and Arc�teryx and the mobile phone operator Vodafone, footage showed.
�The government will respond firmly to these attacks on the state, including through measures aimed at curbing violence by minors,� the foreign minister, Antonio Tajani, who also serves as deputy prime minister, said after Meloni chaired a meeting with top security officials on Monday.

Meloni�s coalition, which is facing a general election next year, is reportedly planning tougher penalties for road blockades after days of protests in southern Italy by lorry drivers over fuel prices.

Meanwhile, Milan is bracing for further protests on Saturday after a new movement, called 17 October, emerged on social media. It said it would organise demonstrations there and in other Italian cities each Saturday afternoon �until this government of thieves collapses�.
�You are the violent ones,� the group said. �You, who denied us a future. Now, we are claiming that future ourselves.�
Opposition politicians often accuse the government of using security as a propaganda tool, arguing that Italy�s leaders do little to address core issues such as education, housing and living conditions in marginalised areas.

There were also tensions during protests at the weekend over the high cost of living in other northern Italian cities, including Bologna, Brescia, Bergamo and Turin, where 28 protesters were arrested, police said.
The protests in Italy and France have been mirrored by demonstrations in other parts of Europe.
Thousands rallied in Lisbon and other Portuguese cities on Tuesday evening, hours after police dismantled housing protest camps at dawn and arrested 55 people.
Demonstrators in Portugal are protesting soaring housing costs, seeking to align themselves with similar actions in neighbouring Spain, where tents have been set up in central Madrid for weeks.
In Lisbon, thousands of people gathered in the central Rossio square, where protesters voted by a show of hands to re-establish their tent camp from Wednesday.
�They forced me on to the streets to shout�, read one placard. Another declared: �Lisbon is not for sale�.

Anti-government demonstrations have also rocked the Albanian capital Tirana over the past week, driven by fresh demands for better university conditions, anger over corruption and a controversial resort development linked to Donald Trump�s family.
Clashes between the protesters and police escalated again on Tuesday amid renewed calls for prime minister Edi Rama�s resignation. Riot police used teargas and water cannon to disperse protesters who fired fireworks and hurled molotov cocktails and stones at officers.
Earlier on Tuesday, Rama repeated earlier accusations that �foreign actors� were to blame for the violence, having previously accused both Russia and Iran of driving online misinformation.
�It is a hybrid war that gains traction precisely because it is rooted in genuine grievances, not mere fantasy,� the prime minister said, citing the rising cost of living, housing affordability and concerns for the future.

A Home Office contractor is offering property owners lucrative three-year deals worth more than double the amount paid by local councils, raising fears that vulnerable tenants could be priced out of homes.

In one case, a landlord in south London was offered �4,500 a month for a three-bedroom flat he was already renting to Southwark Council for just �1,790.
The bumper deal would have left him �32,520 a year better off, with the contractor also offering to cover bills, council tax and maintenance costs.
But the landlord refused, warning that accepting the offer would mean terminating his agreement with the council and putting families at serious risk of homelessness.
The revelations have sparked fury among opposition politicians, who accused Labour of presiding over a system that puts migrants ahead of vulnerable Britons.
Shadow home secretary Chris Philp said it was a 'day of shame' for the Government.
The eye-watering offers are being made by Clearsprings Ready Homes, one of three private firms contracted by the Home Office to accommodate asylum seekers across Britain.

The company, which has a taxpayer-funded contract worth around �7billion, is understood to be targeting landlords who currently provide accommodation to councils, students and vulnerable people, including those fleeing domestic abuse.
It is hoped that generous rental payments and long-term contracts will encourage property owners to switch their homes into asylum accommodation.

Landlords are being offered thousands of pounds more in rent to house asylum seekers

But the practice has raised concerns that councils already struggling to find homes for homeless families could be priced out of the market.
One landlord, who already provides accommodation to Southwark Council, told The Sun he was astonished by the difference between the two offers, particularly as both arrangements were ultimately funded through the public purse.

He said: 'I already rent to Southwark Council, and they [Clearsprings] are able to offer significantly more than the local authority, which to me is bizarre.
'The council has a ceiling on what they are allowed to pay landlords like myself.
'For a three-bed flat I get �1,790 from the local authority to house families, while I would rent it to Clearsprings for �4,500 per month.
'I didn't go with them because it would have meant terminating my contract with Southwark Council and putting families at serious risk of homelessness. I am not prepared to do that. But many landlords just see it as an opportunity to earn more, and just go with them.'
The landlord, who asked to remain anonymous, also questioned why properties intended for asylum seekers appeared to be subject to more demanding refurbishment requirements than those used to accommodate homeless British families.
A document obtained by The Sun reportedly shows that Clearsprings is seeking additional properties in areas including Bedford, Southampton, the Forest of Dean, Caerphilly and Wrexham.

Prospective landlords are also being told that properties may require extensive refurbishment before they can be used.
Clearsprings is run by businessman Graham King, who has been dubbed the 'Asylum King' after building a fortune from government contracts to accommodate migrants.

The 66-year-old founded the company in 1999 and began providing accommodation for asylum seekers the following year.
He has since amassed an estimated fortune of �726million, while his company has become one of the biggest beneficiaries of Britain's costly asylum accommodation system.
Clearsprings, which operates hotels, houses in multiple occupation and former military sites, is estimated to be responsible for housing around 30,000 asylum seekers.
Its latest accounts, filed last November, showed profits of �62.6million in the year to January 2025, on turnover approaching �1.4billion.
The company is one of three major contractors responsible for providing asylum accommodation under deals awarded by the Home Office in 2019.
Clearsprings covers southern England and Wales, while Serco operates in the Midlands, East of England and North West. Mears Group provides accommodation in Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of northern England.

The contracts were originally awarded under the Conservatives and are due to run until August 2029.
The National Audit Office has previously raised concerns about the escalating costs of the system.
In a report published in May 2025, the spending watchdog revealed that the Home Office expected to spend �1.67billion on its main asylum accommodation contracts during 2024-25.
Of that, around �903million was allocated to Clearsprings' operations in southern England and Wales.
The revelations come as ministers face mounting pressure to end the use of taxpayer-funded hotels for asylum seekers and find cheaper alternatives.
More than 220,000 migrants have crossed the Channel in small boats since records began in 2018, placing considerable strain on Britain's asylum system.
The Government has closed more than 100 asylum hotels as part of efforts to reduce the accommodation bill, with some residents instead moved into residential properties and former military facilities.

However, the latest revelations raise questions about whether the drive to move migrants out of hotels risks creating further pressure on Britain's already stretched housing market.
Mr Philp said: 'It is a day of shame for Labour that hard working Brits are being kicked out of flats so they can be let out at twice price for illegal immigrants. It is insane that illegal immigrants who have broken our laws, and some of whom go on to commit appalling crimes against women and girls, are being prioritised above law-abiding citizens who work hard and pay their taxes. No wonder so many illegal immigrants cross and people are so angry.
'Over 85,000 illegal immigrants have crossed the Channel under this Labour Government yet only seven per cent of arrivals are removed. This has led to a huge increase in HMOs and flats being used to house them � with over 93,000 people now in asylum accommodation.

'Only the Conservative Party has a proper plan to end illegal immigration. By leaving the ECHR we can deport all illegal immigrants rapidly upon arrival. Then the crossings would soon stop and there would be no need for any asylum accommodation.'
The Home Office insisted that taxpayers were protected by contractual limits on how much the Government pays accommodation providers.
A spokesman said: 'We pay a capped and contractually agreed rate to accommodation providers.
'Any amount above that is covered by the contractor and not taxpayers. We are working to fairly house asylum seekers across the country and closing every hotel, saving taxpayers over �1billion on asylum support since the election.'
The department also said it had removed 80,000 people with no right to remain in Britain since the general election.
Clearsprings Ready Homes and Southwark Council were approached for comment.

Last month, a migrant caravan was spotted marching toward the US border ahead of the midterm elections.

More than 400 aliens from the Honduras entered Mexico on Thursday en route to the United States, Reuters has confirmed.

At least two NGOs are funding this caravan.

According to independent reporter Anthony Aguero, �Proyecto Faro and ADRA� are the two main NGOs assisting the migrant caravan:

Tom Homan recently said the migrants will be sent back to their home countries or a third party country.
�They�ll be immediately turned around, or they�ll be arrested and prosecuted and deported,� Homan said.

�Zero releases from the border under the Trump administration. President Trump promised that. He�s going to keep that promise,� he said.

�Perhaps it is now clear� why Central European states maintain strict border control to �preserve our continent as the most wonderful place in the world for our children and grandchildren�, national leaders say as the rest of the world looks on in horror at the failure of multiculturalism in France.

The Prime Minister of Poland vowed his country would not �repeat the mistakes� of other European states and pledged that his country would be �relentless� in defending its own security, while the Prime Minister of Hungary rhetorically asked whether it was yet clear why the country has the �strictest possible approach to migration�. While some have asserted that linking the extreme acts of violence to France�s migration policy is an act of �pure racism�, a growing number have come to link France�s failure to integrate generations of arrivals into the majority culture and the rioting as a matter of fact, including the leaders of the United States, Poland, and Hungary.

The comments from the Central European nations� leaders are all the more remarkable because in the recent past both countries have gone from being governed by border control hardliner conservatives to European Union-friendly centrists, at least by their own standards.

Yet even with these electoral changes, Central Europe remains well ahead of the West in defending national distinction.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk of Poland is, for instance, a longstanding globalist and former President of the Council of Europe. Yet despite occasional domestic criticism about his absolute dedication to strict border control, his policies remain radically more restrictive than those in Western Europe, and rhetorically he is light-years ahead of the French government.

Mr Tusk said in a statement following a weekend where thousands were arrested, thousands of businesses looted, and hundreds of police officers were injured in France: �Poland will not repeat the mistakes of other European countries, nor will it pay for them.

�We are firmly defending the border against illegal migration, we have our own asylum policy (we do not accept applications), we deport those who break Polish law. On security issues, we will be relentless. That is what I told the leaders of Europe in Brussels.�

Responding to the �shocking videos� coming out of France showing violence, looting, and the destruction of historic buildings, Magyar said, not without a dose of implied sarcasm: �In the face of this senseless destruction and unjustified violence, perhaps it is now clear to everyone why Hungary advocates the strictest possible approach to migration, and why we will not weaken our border protection or immigration policy under any pressure.�

Noting that more European states are now adopting a Central European way of thinking and want to implement border control, Magyar added: �We hope it is not too late�.

Expressing solidarity with �the French people� � although evidently not the rioters, not even the government � he went on: �The Europe we all love is in serious trouble today. It is our responsibility, too, to help preserve our continent as the most wonderful place in the world for our children and grandchildren.�

The Global Peace Index rates France as the least peaceful country in the European Union. Their 2026 report said:

France is the least peaceful country in Western and Central Europe. France recorded a marginal deterioration of 0.5 per cent over the past year. The Safety and Security domain deteriorated by two per cent, driven by deteriorations in both violent crime and perceptions of criminality. More than one in four people in France say they do not feel safe walking alone at night, and just under one in 10 people say they have been the victim of a violent crime in the past year, the highest rate in the region. France experienced significant civil unrest in September 2025, when the �Block Everything� protest movement brought hundreds of thousands of people onto the streets in opposition to government austerity measures, resulting in clashes with police and more than 300 arrests.

Poland recorded the largest improvement in the region and one of the largest globally on the 2026 GPI, with its overall score improving by 9.1 per cent. Poland is now ranked 22nd globally.

The comments from the Polish and Hungarian leaders join a growing body of leaders explicitly linking France�s weeks of riots with its rapidly changing demographics. As reported, U.S. President Donald Trump spoke in recent days to note that �what�s happening in France is nothing less than out of control mass migration� and �the immigration of people from an entirely different world, people with hatred in their hearts, has shattered that once great country�. Mr Trump implored France to �close your borders and take control before it is too late�.

Vice President JD Vance went into greater detail, adding a warning to Americans that France�s multiculturalism riots are precisely what the Democrat Party hold in store for the U.S. should they take power. He said: �Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn�t listen.

�I pray that France, a beautiful country of amazing people, will stop this madness before more of its landmarks burn. And I hope Americans are paying attention. This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country.�

Iowa Democrat Senate candidate Josh Turek�s new ad with two sheriffs claims he has the support of law enforcement, but both sheriffs are on record supporting sanctuary polices, opposing the 287(g) program, and even backing amnesty proposals.

The ad released by Turek�s campaign shows Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner and Story County Sheriff Paul Fitzgerald, who are both Democrats. �As a law enforcement officer, I know Josh Turek has our back, and yours,� Fitzgerald says in the ad.

Turek, though, voted for taxpayer funding to provide welfare for illegal immigrants while in the Iowa state Senate, then launched his campaign for U.S. Senate claiming he opposed benefits for illegal immigrants.

Fitzgerald, who is the sheriff in Story County, ordered his county to stop honoring ICE detainers in 2014. �We cannot deprive somebody of their freedom without a criminal charge or a warrant for their arrest, and a detainer is neither of those,� he told the Ames Tribune.

In January 2021, Fitzgerald was a signatory of a letter in support of Alejandro Mayorkas� confirmation to serve as Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary under Joe Biden. That letter called Mayorkas a �proven leader� who �has worked to keep the nation secure.�

Under his tenure at DHS, Mayorkas oversaw four years of open-border policies that allowed millions of illegal immigrants from around the world to enter the United States in one of the largest mass migration surges in American history, and he was impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2024.

Gardner, the Linn County Sheriff, refused to join the popular 287(g) program enabling local law enforcement to work with ICE. He told the Gazette in 2014, �We will no longer hold any inmates past their release time merely on an ICE hold,� a change that was �quietly implemented,� the newspaper wrote.

Linn County is listed as a �sanctuary jurisdiction� as recently as 2025 by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) in a 2025 Sanctuary Jurisdiction report.

Immigration policy has been a major issue in the race between Turek and Republican nominee Ashley Hinson. In a recent debate, Turek advocated for �pathways to citizenship� while Hinson announced her endorsement by the National Border Patrol Council.

Homeland Security chief Markwayne Mullin will soon review a plan to expand worksite inspections, White House border czar Tom Homan said Sunday.

�I know the worksite enforcement plan just cleared last week out of HSI [Homeland Security Investigations] because I asked for the plan,� Homan told Fox News. He added:

I think the gentlemen I brought in did a tremendous job. A lot of it is focusing on not just worksite enforcement, but those who use fraudulent IDs to steal your Social Security numbers. We�ll prosecute them.

And for employers that knowingly hire illegal aliens, it�s not just about arresting aliens. It�s about holding employers accountable so they don�t try employing illegal aliens.

So I think we�ll move quickly on that. I just saw the draft from HSI last week, so I think the secretary will probably see it this week or next week. And I�m all for it.

Homan�s comments are a rare look inside the differences of opinion within the Trump administration.

Many top officials, as well as President Donald Trump, zig-zag forward between rival interest groups within the Republican party, including business donors and populist voters.

Immigration politics are tough, Trump told a roomful of Latino allies on September 30. �Because they�ll say �You�re too tough,� or �You�re too soft.� �Get tougher!� �Get softer!� No matter what you do, it�s always tough.�

He added, �We have to have the votes.�

Trump has prodded agency officials to avoid worksite enforcement operations in the agriculture, construction, slaughterhouse, hotel, and restaurant sectors. He wants to avoid economic disruptions, price rises � and possibly pushback from GOP donors and supporters.

Those sectors use illegals � or migrants with student visas � to cut workers� wages, minimize technology spending, and maximize profits. Also, many companies use illegal migrants because their marketplace rivals gain economic advantages by using cheap and �disposable� illegals.

President Joe Biden�s deputies halted worksite raids and tried to legalize illegal migrant workers.

The Trump administration�s inactivity on worksites is obscured by the department�s public focus on deporting �the Worst of the Worst� criminal migrants.

�ICE is not conducting worksite operations in Kansas,� DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said via X on September 25. �ICE law enforcement has conducted operations targeting heinous criminals including murderers, rapists, and drug traffickers and illegal aliens with final orders of removal.�

Mullin is a successful businessman in Oklahoma with, likely, some sympathy for fellow business owners.

Republican populists, however, want DHS to arrest and deport all illegals, not just the two million who have already been sent home:

Mullin also knows that mass migration wreaks havoc in a free-market economy. On October 7, for example, Mullin told Breitbart News, �If you were to AI the question �How do you turn a red state blue, or how do you turn a country from democracy to socialism?� � it�ll tell you 100 percent of the time you�ve got to change demographics.�[emphasis added]

The conflicting concerns may help explain why GOP leaders have reduced the legalized migration of eventual citizens into the United States while setting fewer curbs on the inflow of non-voting foreign contract workers, such as H-1B workers.

Pro-American activists have long argued that the agencies should pressure employers via low-profile visits to check companies� hiring records. I-9 investigations avoid street protests and also raise the legal risks for CEOs who do not fire the illegals who have fraudulent documents. (I-9 investigations refer to a form, called the �I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification,� that employers must file testifying that a hired person is allowed to work in the United States.)

�That�s the area where � management at DHS could really make a difference and move the President�s agenda of mass deportations significantly,� Mark Krikorian, the director of the Center for Immigration Studies, told Breitbart News.

�Worksite law enforcement needs to happen,� Homan told Fox News. �We need to send a message to the whole world: It�s illegal to knowingly hire illegal immigrants to work � and if you can�t get a job, you�re not going to come.�

�While Americans enjoyed their weekend, the brave patriots of ICE worked around the clock to arrest murderers, pedophiles, rapists, drug traffickers, and other dangerous illegal aliens from our communities,� Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin said.

Among those illegal aliens arrested is Jose Zetina Romero of El Salvador, who was previously convicted of felony murder in Fairfax, Virginia. Carlos Castro-Ramirez of Mexico, who was previously convicted of voluntary manslaughter in Bakersfield, California, was also arrested.

In addition, ICE agents arrested:

New York City�s socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani is trying to block ICE operations in New York by denying overnight parking slots for federal agents� vehicles.

Mamdani, the leader of the state�s communist and environmental coalition, along with 100 Democrat officials across the sanctuary state, joined together in a letter asking parking lot and parking garage owners to tell Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal officers that they are not welcome, according to the Gothamist.

�Make it known to ICE that it is not authorized to use your garages and lots,� the radical mayor says in his letter.

The letter comes on the tail of the slight wounding of criminal illegal migrant Oscar Belgal, a Dominican national who tried to use his vehicle to run down and injure or kill ICE agents who were trying to arrest him.

Mamdani�s letter cites the shooting of the gangbanger in the request to parking lot owners to ban federal agents from the properties.

The letter is also signed by New York�s Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, as well as the U.S. House of Representatives Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries; and dozens of state and local Democrat officials. New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin and most of the City Council also signed onto the letter.

A DHS spokesperson said that federal immigration operations would continue despite the mayor�s efforts to ban them from parking lots and garages.

�Mayor Mamdani should be grateful to our brave law enforcement officers for cleaning up the streets of NYC since he won�t,� the DHS spokesperson said, according to The Hill. �Luckily, no terminated parking will stop ICE from deporting criminal illegal aliens to make New York safe again.�

This missive in New York is not the first time a Democrat has demanded parking lot owners ban ICE agents.

In August, Democrats in Boston moved to ban ICE from renting or purchasing space to park their vehicles, even though there is no ICE facility in the city.

A migrant left Britain to join Islamic State (IS) after being recruited by AI chatbots, a court has heard.
Mohamed Mohamoud, 22, who was born in Somalia, was radicalised after viewing extreme material on social media and travelled from the UK to his home country to join the terror group last January.

The defendant, who was 20 at the time and had not had any combat training, returned to the UK in March last year after his attempt to become a martyr failed.
The court was told he had been offered a job as a �spy� but had turned it down because it was not a combat role in the �killing zone� on the front line, and he thought his family contacts in Somalia would identify him.
After a trial at Winchester Crown Court, Mohamoud, who lived in Bristol, was found guilty of preparing for acts of terrorism. At a sentencing hearing at the Old Bailey on Monday, Mr Justice Lickley jailed him for 12 years with a further four years on extended licence.
The judge told him: �You did everything you could to join IS and were prevented by factors beyond your control. I am satisfied if you had joined, you would have been used in a combat role.�

Mr Justice Lickley said the defendant was not unintelligent but had been �naive�, and until he had changed his radical beliefs and support for IS, he posed a danger to the public.
The court had heard Mohamoud became interested in religion and joining IS after watching extreme videos on YouTube and TikTok. His attempts to join the terror group included interacting with an AI chatbot used by IS recruiters to filter potential new members, jurors were told.

Despite having no intention of coming back to the UK, he booked a return flight to Somalia and flew out on Jan 30, 2025. His attempt to become a �martyr� for IS failed because of counter-terrorism operations, and he returned to the UK on March 3.
While he was in Somalia, Mohamoud was asked by a recruiter for the terror group whether he was aware of the difficulties that made accessing IS-held territory challenging.

Mohamoud replied: �Yeah, brother. I am fully aware. I�m longing for martyrdom. Honestly, there�s no better moment than right now.� After coming back to the UK, he continued to keep in contact with IS recruiters and told them: �Any time, you say the word, I will return.�
Counter-terrorism police arrested the defendant at his home in Bristol on Jan 20. His electronic devices, containing IS propaganda, were seized and he was charged six days later.

Mohamoud had denied preparing acts of terrorism but admitted attempting to join IS in Somalia. He told the court he had been born there, but his parents separated when he was three, and he had been taken with his younger brother to live with his stepmother in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
He lived between Somalia and the UAE until he moved in 2020, at the age of 16 or 17, to live in Bristol with his mother, whom he had seen only once since his parents had split up.
The court was told the defendant had been a teenager when he arrived in the UK and had limited leave to remain until 2027.
�He went there to fight and die�

In mitigation, Dominic Thomas said: �He went there to fight and die. He made no bones about it. He was not recruited because anyone who might be in a position to recruit him was presumably too busy fighting. The prospect of him causing harm to others was equally low.�

Mr Thomas pointed out that the defendant chose to return to the UK rather than �redouble� his efforts to join IS and had not been apprehended for months after returning to the UK.
He added that Mohamoud had made some �foolish and unpleasant� comments on his return but had been starting to see his �wrongheadedness� at a low point in his life, and there was hope for change in the future.
Frank Ferguson, of the Crown Prosecution Service, said: �Mohamoud was determined to join Daesh [the Arabic acronym for IS] and took concrete steps to make that a reality. He even utilised an AI chatbot to contact a recruiter in his bid to join the illegal terrorist organisation.
�He actively embraced the organisation�s violent extremist ideology, sought guidance and travelled to Somalia with the intention of linking up with fighters aligned to the group.�
Det Ch Supt Oliver Wright, head of Counter Terrorism Policing South East, said: �Mohamoud embraced an Islamist extremist ideology and became radicalised through material he accessed online and via social media.

�Our investigation showed he was determined to travel overseas to join Daesh and actively sought ways to do so. His actions demonstrated both intent and persistence, including attempts to use emerging technology such as AI to support his efforts.�

A young German student was punched, kicked in the head, and left defenseless on the ground by a mob of roughly ten youths outside the Heinrich-von-Kleist School in Frankfurt (Oder) this week. The attack is part of a widespread pattern of mobs of feral migrant background youths attacking German children.

The attackers filmed the assault and released it with a gangster rap soundtrack. Police are investigating ten suspects aged 13 to 15 of Syrian, Chechen, Polish, Russian, and German nationality on charges of aggravated assault and robbery.
Videos circulating on social media, which authorities have confirmed as authentic, show the student being confronted and asked for something. He displays empty pockets before one of the group punches him in the face.

The rest of the mob then joins in with punches and kicks, including to the head, continuing the attack after he falls to the ground.
The victim suffered facial injuries and reported the incident to police the same day.
Headmaster S�ren Schunke stated that the attackers were not students at his school. Officers later carried out an operation at the nearby Ulrich von Hutten High School linked to the case.

Frankfurt (Oder) Mayor Axel Strasser said in a statement: "What was done to a young person here in Frankfurt (Oder) leaves me speechless. It hurts to have to witness such violence. And it makes me angry that a youth has to experience something like this."
He added that this level of organized youth violence was previously unknown in the city and that it would not be tolerated. Strasser has spoken with Brandenburg Interior Minister Jan Redmann and arranged security talks involving police and school authorities.
The incident occurs against a backdrop of repeated group attacks in the neighboring city of Potsdam. Redmann has described a wave of predominantly migrant-linked youth violence there, including Syrian suspects.
On September 25, roughly 20 people, mostly migrants, entered a private party uninvited and attacked guests. The following day a group of about 25 assaulted three youths. Additional attacks in early October left victims with head injuries requiring hospital treatment.

Similar patterns of targeted attacks on German students have appeared elsewhere. In July, young German students were reportedly hunted and beaten by a group of foreigners at a train station in Jessen in Saxony-Anhalt.
Victims said they did not know why they were targeted, and police had been unable to locate the perpetrators at the time of reporting. A video of the attack later circulated.
These cases form part of a longer pattern of violence and disorder in German schools with high migrant enrollment. Government data released in response to a parliamentary inquiry showed that in 2024 nearly 40 percent of suspects identified in school violence cases across Germany did not hold German citizenship.
Of 11,558 suspects, 4,254 were foreign nationals, including 1,236 Syrians and 421 Afghans. There were 35,570 violent incidents at schools that year, averaging nearly 100 per day, with more than 740 involving knives.

At the Karolina-Burger high school in Ludwigshafen, police recorded 118 criminal complaints over three years, roughly half involving bodily harm, along with more than 100 false fire alarms. A 16-year-old student attacked a teacher in the staff room with a knife; prosecutors said she acted with the intention of killing her.
Interior Minister Michael Ebling stated: "Violence has no place in our society - and certainly not in our schools." Education Minister Sven Teuber said: "Every child has the right to learn well and safely."

A special education teacher at a secondary school in the Rhineland where roughly 75 percent of students have a migrant background described daily fights, drug dealing on school grounds, and a 15-year-old girl who prostituted herself in the school toilets for drugs and money before becoming pregnant and leaving.
The teacher, who was punched in the face while intervening in a fight, said: "Every day is a challenge. Fights, shouting - this happens in the classroom and on the schoolyard. We are happy if we can teach for a few minutes at a time. Sometimes the police have to come several times a week."
She added that colleagues are insulted, threatened, or ambushed after school and that "No one from the school board ever shows up. They've left us to fend for ourselves."

In D�sseldorf, an 18-year-old Afghan intern at a primary school exposed his erect penis to two second-grade girls at a sink in the classroom while a teacher was present showing a film.
He also admitted to groping the class teacher's buttocks on two occasions. Police opened a criminal investigation, searched his apartment, and notified immigration authorities because of his asylum seeker status.
The internship was terminated and he was banned from the premises. An investigator noted that schools often prefer to keep a low profile in such cases.

Separate stabbing attacks have also occurred. A 13-year-old Arab boy stabbed a 12-year-old German classmate multiple times with a kitchen knife in the locker room of an elementary school in Berlin's Spandau neighborhood; the victim required emergency surgery.
In Remscheid, an 11-year-old Iraqi child stabbed a 13-year-old German boy twice in the leg with a kitchen knife after an arranged fight. Because the suspect was under 14 he faced no criminal charges and was released to his parents under youth welfare supervision.

In the small town of Harsefeld in Lower Saxony, a youth gang active for at least six months committed beatings, threats, extortion, and drug trafficking, uploading videos of the assaults.
Two known leaders had approximately 15 reported crimes each. Citizens formed a vigilante patrol group to protect children after police response was criticized as inadequate. A police spokesperson said: "Yes, of course, we find that quite creepy. A vigilante group doesn't help anyone."

The filmed attack in Frankfurt (Oder) is not an outlier. It is one more instance in which German students have been surrounded, beaten, and filmed by groups that include large numbers of foreign nationals and those with migration backgrounds.
Officials issue statements of outrage and schedule further talks while the underlying numbers on school violence and the composition of the suspects remain consistent across multiple reports. Native German children continue to encounter these conditions on the way to and from school.

"Replacing Europe": Undercover Film Follows The Money Behind Europe's Taxpayer-Funded Mass Migration Pipeline

A new documentary from investigative outlet Muckraker traces the migrant route from West Africa through Spain and France to Britain, examining what the outlet describes as a network sustained by taxpayer-funded aid programs, NGOs, and even Western governments.
The 47-minute film, "Replacing Europe," draws on months of reporting and undercover footage to investigate the logistics and top NGO players behind the nation-killing mass migration into Europe.

"The entire migration is a game," says Sheikh M. Kromah, identified by Muckraker as a worker for the UN's International Organization for Migration. He alleges that Spain has a financial incentive to maintain arrivals because reducing them could jeopardize EU funding.

Muckraker claims that publicly funded institutions help sustain the migration flows that European governments publicly promise to control. Its interviews raise questions about oversight, spending incentives and the boundary between humanitarian assistance and facilitating illegal alien border crossings into Europe.
The broader concern is whether mass migration, malassimilation, and soaring public costs of the European welfare state that cater to migrants could compound fiscal pressure and political instability.

Here is Muckraker's report:

A UN migration worker admits Spain won't stop the boats because the EU money is too good. A Catholic NGO pulling in �225 million a year moves arrivals to the mainland and pays them to stay. Activists paint a trail to the French border. And the journalists who filmed it were attacked and nearly arrested.
Investigative outlet Muckraker spent two months following the West African migration route from start to finish: from the smuggling hub of Nouadhibou, Mauritania, to Spain's Canary Islands, across mainland Spain and France, and finally to the English Channel and the United Kingdom. The result is a new documentary, REPLACING EUROPE.
The film's central finding is that the movement of tens of thousands of illegal immigrants into Europe is not chaos. It is a managed system, run by smugglers, publicly funded NGOs, activist networks and governments, several of which admit on camera that they profit from it.
Among the documentary's findings:

A worker for the UN's International Organization for Migration says Spain deliberately lets the boats keep coming so it keeps receiving EU money.
ACCEM, a Catholic NGO that took in about �225 million in 2024, mostly from the Spanish state, moves arrivals from the Canary Islands to the mainland, houses them in camps and pays them a monthly allowance.
Migrants are flown by the hundreds from Gran Canaria to Madrid.
In the Spanish border town of Irun, an activist group has painted a trail of footsteps guiding migrants past police and into France, where a city-run shelter takes in people with no papers.
The UN's own migration agency says the priority should be "facilitating, not restricting" migration.

Where It Starts: Mauritania

Most boats on the West African route leave from Senegal, Morocco, Western Sahara and above all Mauritania. Tens of thousands of the illegal immigrants who have landed in the Canary Islands departed from Mauritania's coast.

In Nouadhibou, a local source told Muckraker that young migrant women are raped and held "like slaves," and that captors call their families to demand ransom. Asked whether criminals or police were responsible, he said both: "The police do that� because they are working with the criminals who smuggle people." He added that gun and drug traffickers travel among the migrants to get into Europe.
Muckraker also visited a migrant aid center in Nouadhibou run by OAMR (Organisation d'Appui et d'Assistance aux Migrants et R�fugi�s), which works alongside the United Nations International Organization of Migration. A banner on the wall reads "Projet Julia Taft � Phase II": a capacity-building project offering training, outreach and assistance to refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in Nouadhibou, with funding listed as "Ambassade des Etats-Unis en Mauritanie" � the U.S. Embassy. Asked whether the United States pays for the center's bakery and computer lab too, staff answered yes.
The Julia Taft Refugee Fund is a State Department program run by the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration. Created in 2000 and named for Julia Taft, who led that bureau under President Clinton, it lets U.S. embassies hand out small grants directly to local NGOs. The U.S. Embassy in Nouakchott's 2022 call for proposals offered up to $50,000 per project and listed migrants among eligible beneficiaries alongside refugees and returnees.

Arrival: The Canary Islands

Off the island of El Hierro, Muckraker filmed a boat packed with migrants, almost all of them military-aged men, being towed in by Spain's Maritime Rescue Service. One man was carried off on a stretcher, apparently lifeless.

Arrivals are taken to temporary camps. Residents described days with no work ("only eat and sleep") and men who leave to drink and try to come back with knives. A migrant from Senegal described a darker practice on the crossing itself: passengers accused of witchcraft are tied up and thrown into the sea.

The UN Insider: "Migration Is a Game"

On the Canary Islands, Muckraker met Sheikh M. Kromah, who was then working for the UN's International Organization for Migration (IOM) and has more than a decade in the migrant aid industry. Kromah has been photographed alongside Spain's Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, and local officials on El Hierro.

"The entire migration is a game," Kromah told Muckraker. "Everyone wants to have their share." He said smuggling networks collect between �50,000 and �60,000 per boat.
Asked why Spain doesn't stop the arrivals, he said the government doesn't want to. Every year, he said, Spain receives a huge amount of money from the European Union to manage migration, and if the boats stopped, so would the money. The strategy, in his words, is to "minimize it, but not stop it completely, so that they keep getting the money."
Kromah went further, claiming some of the money changes hands in cash, carried in suitcases into negotiating rooms. He said even the special police deployed to the islands, paid about three times a regular officer's salary, "want the boats to come every day."
"Everybody just wants to make money off everybody here," he said. "So if you look at it, it's a game."

Flown to the Mainland

Then comes the transfer. At Gran Canaria airport, Muckraker found a few hundred African men waiting to be flown to Madrid. This process happens multiple times per week and is managed by ACCEM.

ACCEM: The NGO Running Spain's Migrant Camps

One of the primary organizations responsible for moving illegal immigrants from the Canary Islands to mainland Spain, and housing them in camps once they arrive, is ACCEM.

ACCEM's full name is the Asociaci�n Comisi�n Cat�lica Espa�ola de Migraci�n, the Spanish Catholic Commission for Migration. According to its own 2024 annual report, as reported by Spanish outlet Infovaticana, ACCEM took in about �225 million in 2024, 88% of it from Spain's central government. It employed 3,839 people and managed 9,812 reception places that year.
ACCEM makes no secret of its goals. In 2023, its president, Pilar Samanes Ara, cosigned a letter demanding more "safe and legal routes" for migrants into the European Union and Spain. The letter tied that demand directly to the UN's 2030 Agenda, describing migration as "a transformative force for growth and development."
Outside an ACCEM camp, Muckraker met a man from Senegal who had lived there for almost a year without a job. He said residents receive about �75 a month from ACCEM, plus bus or metro tickets. Even people who leave the camp without documents, he said, still get the money and a ticket. He knew of a friend who left for another Spanish city and kept being paid.

The UN's Blueprint

What Kromah described is consistent with the framework the UN itself has published. In September 2015, the UN General Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, built around 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
In a related paper titled "Migration and the 2030 Agenda," the IOM states that the agenda recognizes migration as "a core development consideration," the first time migration has been integrated explicitly into the global development agenda. The paper calls migrant women, men and children "agents of development" and says migration can be linked to every goal in the 2030 Agenda. Its conclusion: efforts should not focus on stopping migration. Facilitating it, not restricting it, is the priority.
It is the same framework ACCEM's president invoked when demanding new routes into Europe. The UN sets the agenda, NGOs like ACCEM carry it out, and European taxpayers fund it.

A Painted Trail to France

In Irun, the last Spanish town before France, migrants arrive at the bus station on a daily basis. From the bus station, a trail of painted footsteps leads to the Red Cross and on to the town hall, where an activist group called Irungo Harrera Sarea meets migrants every day. Members of the activist group told Muckraker the group has helped some 40,000 migrants to cross the Spanish border into France.

The man who painted the footsteps told Muckraker the trail exists so migrants can cross the border without being caught by police, and that he plans to paint more "because they get lost." The activists confirmed they tell migrants which buses to take to avoid getting caught. A billboard by the train station maps out the entire route.
The trail leads to Pausa, a shelter in Bayonne, France, that has received millions of euros in public funds. Its director told Muckraker the center is managed by the city of Bayonne's administration and keeps "no photos, no names." Migrants stay a few days, he said, then take the bus and "go all over Europe," with or without documents.

Attacked in Paris

At the entrance to the Eiffel Tower, Muckraker found the plaza crowded with migrant street vendors. When the crew began filming, the vendors surrounded them. Muckraker co-founder Josh Rubin (@joshbrubin) was attacked and left bleeding heavily from the head, for pointing a camera.

A migrant who knows the community said many of those making the claim are not gay: "They say that they just want to get on� the help."

Calais and the Channel

For those headed to Britain, the last stop in France is Calais, where makeshift camps serve as staging grounds for Channel crossings. A local private security guard described migrants stealing from stores and killing a farmer's goat to eat. Human traffickers embed themselves in these camps, which have been the scene of deadly shootings in recent years.
Posing as aid workers and filming with hidden cameras, Muckraker got inside one camp set up in an abandoned warehouse. Men there said they came from Sudan, Morocco and Egypt. The crew counted roughly 100 tents packed under one roof, a prayer area lined with rugs and stacked Korans, and masked men watching the visitors. Once the camera was noticed, the mood turned. "I don't accept that you take photos here," one man said. A crowd closed in and pushed the crew out.

International trafficking networks run the crossings themselves. Many of the traffickers are illegal migrants themselves, often from Iraq, Albania and Kurdish regions. On the evening before a boat leaves, hundreds of migrants move out of the camps to pre-arranged meeting points along the coast. Muckraker spent weeks in Calais watching these movements and gathering intelligence.

Getting to a launch was the hard part. An Afghan migrant who planned to make the crossing himself told the crew that smugglers are suspicious of anyone who speaks English or French, assuming they are spies or police, and warned they could be beaten, injured or even killed. Late one night, he sent the crew the location where a boat would leave from, followed by a warning to be careful because the smugglers were armed.
The crew drove to the coast and waited. In the dark, they watched a dinghy head out to open water while groups of men they believed could be smugglers moved along the shore. The boat's plan was to circle back and pick up its passengers from the beach.
At about 5 a.m., more than 50 people ran out of the dunes toward the water, including a man carrying a small child. For more than 15 minutes, not a single police officer was on the beach. By the time police arrived, the boat was loading, and they soon gave up and walked back up the beach and the boat they attempted to stop successfully departed for and later arrived at the U.K.

Migration deals with third-party countries cut crossings by up to 90%, research has found.

Agreements where states take back their migrants or intercept crossings reduced arrivals in the destination countries by between 58 per cent and 93 per cent, according to the analysis by the Henry Jackson Society (HJS).

The findings remained consistent across deals involving the UK with Albania, the EU with Turkey and Tunisia, Italy with Libya, and Spain with Morocco. It also showed deaths during attempted crossings decreased by more than half following the migrant deals.

The HJS report, published on Sunday, said it demonstrated that such deals could provide a significant deterrent in reducing the incentive for migrants to cross either the Channel or the Mediterranean.

But it said the collapse of Labour’s “one in, one out” deal with France – where Channel migrants were deported back to France – had removed a potential deterrent to crossings.

Similarly, the failure to implement the Tories’ plans to deport Channel migrants to Rwanda meant that the scheme was never tested as a potential deterrent.

The report recommended that ministers convene a Royal Commission to consider whether to withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), even temporarily, if European judges continued to use it as a block to removals. Human-rights legal challenges played a key role in thwarting the Rwanda plan.

It also said the UK-Albania deal should be used as a template for returns agreements with the main countries of origin for migrants to the UK. The UK should offer aid and debt relief to countries that co-operated but withhold aid and visas from those that did not.

Michael McManus, the report’s author, said, “The collapse of the France deal leaves Britain without the deterrence it needs. The evidence from across Europe is clear: when deals with third countries are enforced at scale, crossings fall and fewer people die at sea.

“Britain proved it with Albania. Rwanda and the France scheme didn’t fail because the idea was wrong. They failed because a deal that never operates at scale deters no one.”

The UK-Albania deal paved the way for fast-track deportations of asylum seekers, visa overstayers and foreign-national offenders back to Albania, greater sharing of intelligence and officers placed in each other’s country to target people smuggling. The UK also provided millions in aid and support for its criminal justice system.

The deal in 2022 saw the number of Albanian small boat migrants fall by 93% from 12,658 in that year, to 927 in 2023 and down to just nine in the first quarter of this year.

The report said, “It would seem that, based on just the numbers alone, a deal targeted at tackling illegal migration and spurious asylum claims from nationals of a safe country was a success.”

It added the weakness was that it only concerned Albanian nationals rather than other big Channel migrant countries such as Eritrea, Iran, Sudan and Afghanistan.

The EU-Turkey agreement–where Turkey agreed to stop migrants crossing into Europe via its territory and to take back any caught after reaching the EU–saw migrant arrivals decrease from a peak of 182,277 in 2016 to as low as 20,280 in 2020. This year there were just 8,680.

A cooperation agreement between Spain and Morocco in 2022 saw the number of migrants entering Spain from the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla more than halved from a peak of 10,538 in 2021 to consistently below 4,000 in subsequent years.

Italy’s deal with Libya aimed to tackle trafficking and smuggling, support reception centres in Libya, and provide support so Libya could strengthen its land and maritime borders. It saw migrants’ crossings on the central Mediterranean route fall by 80% from 181,376 in 2016 to 23,485 in 2018.

A similar deal between the EU and Tunisia was struck five years later after migrants started using the country as a launchpad to reach Europe. The agreement saw migrant crossings on the central Mediterranean route fall from 158,000 in 2023 to just over 66,000 in 2024 and again in 2025.

A Home Office spokesman said, “We continue to work closely with a wide range of international partners to strengthen returns agreements, stop small boat crossings and go after the criminal gangs behind this evil trade.

“Our partnership with France alone has prevented more than 50,000 crossings since the election. This builds on the removal of over 80,000 illegal migrants and foreign criminals in the same period–a 52% increase on the two years prior.

“At the same time, we are reforming our human rights laws to prevent them being abused, and we are perfectly prepared to issue sanctions to countries whenever they refuse to co-operate on returns.”

The Trump Administration is considering a nationwide intelligence operation to bolster Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportation efforts, with $100 million plans to deploy more than 140 specialists to analyze classified and unclassified information from locations across the country, federal procurement records show.

The proposed program, known as Enforcement and Removal Operations Overwatch and National Security Enforcement (ERO One), would provide intelligence and analytical support to ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) division.

ICE anticipates needing approximately 142 Intelligence Research Specialists and two project managers at headquarters and designated field locations across the country, the records show.

A spokesman for ICE told Newsweek that “due to the exponential increase of threats and violence against personnel, ERO is now operationalizing the Overwatch program.”

Supporters say ERO One would give immigration officers greater intelligence support to identify enforcement targets, assess public safety threats and improve officer safety. Critics, however, warn that ICE’s ability to analyze sensitive information could significantly expand the agency’s domestic surveillance capabilities.

The notice says the specialists would conduct work including all-source analysis, threat and trend analysis, and network and relationship analysis.

Newsweek has listed the locations identified by ICE in the procurement documents and the planned distribution of intelligence specialists across the country.

They include Atlanta, Boston, Buffalo, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, El Paso, Harlingen, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York City, Newark, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Paul, Washington, D.C., Williston, Vermont, and Laguna Niguel, California.

The largest allocations listed in the documents are 15 specialists at
- Potomac Center North in Washington, D.C.

- 12 at the National Criminal Analysis and Targeting Center in Williston, Vermont

- 12 at the Law Enforcement Support Center in Williston

- 9 at the Pacific Enforcement Response Center in Laguna Niguel, California

The remaining positions are distributed among ICE areas of responsibility around the country.

What Would ERO ONE Do?
According to the Statement of Work, specialists would research and analyze information from authorized sources, identify trends, patterns, and relationships, assess threats and intelligence gaps, and prepare intelligence products and briefings.

The work may involve information from multiple classified and unclassified sources, as well as law-enforcement sensitive information, personally identifiable information, operational information, and other protected government information.

The procurement documents say contractor personnel could be required to hold Top Secret Clearances and be eligible for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.

One part of the proposal calls for “network, link, and relationship analysis.”

The Statement of Work says specialists would conduct research to identify and assess relationships among individuals, organizations, locations, events, activities, data points, and other entities relevant to established ERO intelligence requirements.

Analysts could examine known, reported, or potential relationships, recurring patterns, organizational structures, associations, and geographic or temporal connections.

The document says contractors would provide analytical support only and would not have authority to make final decisions on investigations, targeting, enforcement, detention or other government actions. Those decisions would remain with government officials.

ERO oversees immigration enforcement, including arrests, detention and removals. Homeland Security Investigations, ICE’s other main operational arm, focuses on transnational crime and criminal investigations. Both divisions have played key roles in President Donald Trump’s nationwide deportation campaign.

ICE said the Enforcement and Removal Operations Overwatch Program would work with HSI and the agency’s Office of Professional Responsibility to identify and report threats against officers, civilian personnel, contractors, detainees, and facilities.

Scott Mechowski, a former ICE deputy field office director in New York and visiting fellow for the Mass Deportation Coalition, told Newsweek that “ERO has relied on intelligence for years.”

“Targeting, officer safety, and tracking transnational criminals and public safety threats all depend on knowing who you’re dealing with before your officers knock on a door,” Mechowski said. “Officers and field offices are drowning in leads and data, and analysts are what turn that into something usable. Adding trained analysts who can do the research lets deportation officers spend more time doing the actual enforcement.”

Ricky Murray, a former senior official at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, said the program reflects a broader push to use technology to bring together government data and support immigration enforcement decisions.

“Government immigration systems contain extraordinary amounts of information, often spread across databases that do not communicate particularly well with one another,” Murray told Newsweek. “Technology that can connect these systems and identify relevant information could dramatically improve efficiency.”

But Murray cautioned that the reliability of the underlying information and how it is interpreted would be crucial. “The danger is that technology can give questionable information an appearance of certainty simply because it was generated through a sophisticated analytical system,” he said.

“It must also be how accurately that information is interpreted, how thoroughly conclusions are verified, and whether appropriate safeguards exist before those conclusions affect someone’s life.”

An ICE spokesman said, “ICE protects America through criminal investigations and enforcing immigration laws to preserve national security and public safety and employs technology and intelligence techniques to identify, locate and arrest national security and public safety threats.

“ICE and its partners need to stay ahead of criminals and terrorists, which evolve just as rapidly as the technology they use to support their criminal activities. As authorities develop countermeasures, terrorist groups and cartels adapt with their own countermeasures, creating an ongoing cycle of tactical evolution.

“ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations intelligence-driven approach ensures that the agency continues to remove dangerous illegal aliens from the country while actively preventing future attacks through comprehensive intelligence collection and analysis.”

Jay Stanley, a senior policy analyst with the American Civil Liberties Union, told The American Prospect that the proposal looked “dangerously like the construction of an internal spying agency,” calling it “a nightmare in the making.”

The procurement documents describe ERO ONE as providing intelligence support for ERO operations involving national security, public safety, officer safety, and detention-related activities, with provisions governing privacy and protected information.

Unnamed sources from Spain’s National Police disclosed to the newspaper ABC on Friday they have detected a not-so-discrete shift in how the invading migrants are trying to seek asylum in Ceuta.

Initially, and during the first month of the invasion, the migrants reportedly claimed alleged economic reasons in their asylum applications — including, but not limited to, claims of “not having a job or wanting to seek a better life in Spain.”

However, the tactic appears to have shifted in recent weeks from economic reasons to allegations of persecution in Morocco based on their claimed sexual orientation. Per the newspaper, 95 percent of the total asylum applications filed by the invading migrants come from Moroccan nationals, with all other nationalities collectively representing the remaining five percent.

Islam is the largest religion in Morocco with more than 99 percent of the population adhering to it.

The sudden surge in sexual orientation persecution claims has reportedly prompted authorities to believe that the migrants are receiving some form of “advice” by third-party entities on what steps to take to achieve their goal of staying in Spain. The Spanish National Police reportedly suspects that unspecified non-government organizations may be behind the alleged “advice.”

As of mid-October, at least 19 known asylum claims are publicly known to have been granted to migrants that invaded Ceuta — five of which were confirmed by the police to have been on alleged sexual orientation persecution claims.

In total, asylum applications presented by the invading migrants reportedly have a 99 percent rejection rate, according to the information disclosed to ABC. A minor, 0.1 percent of all Moroccan “asylum seekers” have further taken their case before the National Court.

A denied asylum application, however, does not translate into the immediate deportation of the migrant from Ceuta or Spain, as the individual must be officially notified by authorities — a procedural step that, according to the newspaper, has led to migrants abandoning the refugee center they were housed in, hiding in mountains, neighborhoods, or even in homes, making it harder for the police to determine their whereabouts.

Per the police sources, it is believed the alleged asylum seekers “circulate among themselves” any information and motives that they believe will have the better chances towards a successful asylum application.

Asked for comment on the matter, a spokesperson from Spain’s Unified Police Union (SUP) told ABC that the organization is concerned over the sudden shift in the asylum applications and is aware that such tactics are being circulated.

While this cannot in itself prove “generalized fraud,” SUP noted that all corresponding verifications must be reinforced, emphasizing asylum is a benefit that must only protect those who actually suffer persecution and not become a pathway to bypass migration laws through the use of false statements.

Additionally, the police union called for more resources and specialists to expedite the processing of the asylum applications, stressing, “Because there’s no point in denying a request if the person then disappears and the police can’t locate them.”

Such cases, the newspaper explained, are assessed by Spanish authorities who determine whether there is in fact a well-founded fear of persecution based on sexual orientation if a so-called asylum seeker applicant were to return to Morocco. Verification involves a series of interviews overseen by police ofifcers and extensive questionnaires that can un as long as “15 pages.”

“The Office of Asylum and Refuge reviews each case. Specialists assess the consistency of the account, personal circumstances, possible threats or acts of violence, any documentation provided, and information about the situation in the country of origin,” the newspaper explained. “They may also request clarification when there are significant contradictions.”

Numerous instances of large numbers of migrants suddenly presenting asylum requests on alleged sexual orientation persecution are not a new phenomena, but rather, a frequently recurring practice across several European nations.

As Breitbart News pointed out in September, hundreds of migrants from Pakistan have made similar allegations to request asylum in the United Kingdom under the purported claim that they had to flee from their homeland because they are “gay.”

In April, a report from the BBC revealed the existence of a “shadow industry” helping migrants pretend to be gay to substantiate their asylum applications in Britain, alleging a purported persecution on basis of their sexual orientation back at home.

Wages in construction are rising as the nation�s labor market recovers from the flood of cheap and subsidized migrant labor imported by pro-migration policies before 2024, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

The recovery � caused by President Donald Trump�s 2024 deportation mandate � is especially rapid in Florida, where Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has used state police to deliver many illegal migrants to the federal deportation officers.

American construction workers in Florida who build the wooden frames for housing can now charge roughly $42 per hour, up from $20 per hour, Scott Brannock, president of Jacksonville-based Tidewater Homes and the Northeast Florida Builders Association, told the newspaper.

�We�re almost dead in the water because our [foreign migrant] workforce is gone,� he complained in the October 16 report.

�A September survey from the National Association of Home Builders found the cost of labor had increased a median of 4.2% from the previous year,� the newspaper reported.

The loss of migrant labor in Americans� national labor is forcing CEOs to hire more Americans, the newspaper noted.

David Hacker, owner of subcontractor Construction Specialties of North Florida, �has seen a 70% reduction of crews available for certain jobs, forcing the leftover crews to double their rates in most cases [and] has also started a campaign to recruit new workers, offering significant cash bonuses for applications,� the newspaper wrote.

The deportations are good news for the millions of young citizens who have been pushed and pulled out of their national labor market, the Center for Immigration Studies reported in July:

If the same share of U.S.-born men (16 to 64) were in the labor force in 2026 as in 1960, there would be 9.2 million more U.S.-born men in the labor force. Even if the share returned only to the 2000 level, it would still add 4.5 million U.S.-born men to the labor force.

Even �prime-age�, U.S.-born men (25 to 54), the group most likely to work, have experienced a similar deterioration, from 4 percent not in the labor force in April 1960 to 8.5 percent in 2000 and 11.1 percent in April 2026.

Media sites in the construction sector also report rising wages and salaries as Trump gradually enforces Americans� right to a national labor market.

�Construction pay is up again this year, and many tradespeople are starting to feel the shift on the jobsite,� TradeHounds.com reported in June:

Average hourly earnings for construction craft workers reached $38.97 in May 2026, up 5.0% year over year, compared to 3.6% for the broader private sector. Growth is strongest in nonresidential construction.

Nationwide, entry-level construction workers saw their wages rise by 16 percent during 2025, to $52,000, said a December 2025 report by The Birmingham Group:

The current labor shortage is driving unprecedented wage increases across commercial projects. Construction firms report difficulty filling critical positions, with some markets experiencing job opening-to-candidate ratios exceeding 3:1. This imbalance has created a seller�s market for skilled workers, enabling significant salary negotiations and competitive pay packages.

The wage gains also reflect the physical risk of a construction career, especially among Latino workers.

�Construction laborers, the crews who prep sites and move materials, face an injury rate more than twice the national average,� according to a new survey by Affordable Contractors Insurance. It added:

The total cases amount to 54.3K over the two years. Over two-thirds of these cases require time off, but in this trade, people rest less, usually 12 days or fewer.

The healing of the labor market is slower in Texas because the supply of Mexican labor has kept salaries near the bottom on the national ranking.

For example, average wages for Texas construction workers rose to $37 an hour in December 2025, according to data presented by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. That was up modestly from $36 per hour in December 2024.

Yet a group of Texas construction companies lobbied Republicans and reporters for more migrant labor in February, according to a Politico report that credulously touted their demands:

Johnny Vasquez, executive officer of the Rio Grande Valley Builders Association, noted that Hidalgo County turned red for the president in 2024 � an example of gains the GOP will lose if the policies don�t shift, he argued. �For me and for our association, we need workers, whether they�re American or not,� he said. �We just need workers.�

The rising wage gains come amid rising competition in house sales, putting a tighter squeeze on CEOs who have enjoyed decades of cheap labor and rising sales.

�The latest HMI survey found that 38% of builders cut prices in September, up from 35% in August [and] the average price cut remained at 6% for the sixth consecutive month,� said a September report by a trade newspaper, HBSDealer. The price cut was driven by rising mortgage costs, the site noted.

Meanwhile, so-called �moderate� Democrats and business groups are calling for more immigration to force cuts in Americans� wages.

This represents a 95 percent drop from the average of 1.8 million migrants per year during the Biden Border Crisis.

�President Trump promised the American people a secure border, and the data proves he delivered.

On day one of President Donald Trump�s second term, he signed a series of ten executive orders aimed at securing the U.S.-Mexico border and taking on the Mexican cartels, Breitbart Texas reported. His orders established a national state of emergency and provided additional resources for a whole-of-government approach to border security, illegal immigration, and drug trafficking enforcement activities.

Since then, border apprehensions fell from a peak of 249,740 in December 2023 to about 8,900 at the close of FY26 on September 30. This represents a fall from the peak of just over 96 percent.

�FY 2026 demonstrated what focused enforcement, strong partnerships, and the commitment of our frontline personnel can achieve,� said CBP Commissioner Rodney S. Scott. �DHS and CBP are securing the border, stopping dangerous drugs and criminals, protecting communities, and ensuring our personnel have the resources necessary for this critical mission.�

The DHS report confirms the unofficial number of apprehensions along the southwest border in September that Breitbart Texas reported earlier this week. The September apprehensions brought the FY26 total to just under 99,000 migrants who crossed between ports of entry. DHS officials called this the �lowest level in agency history.�

The Border Patrol, which completed its first-ever fiscal year with no releases, recorded less than 99,000 southwest border apprehensions in FY 2026�a 95% decline compared with more than 1.8 million per year under President Biden. Total FY 2026 apprehensions (98,708 ) were 60% lower than the Biden Administration�s single highest month alone (249,740).

Additionally, preliminary data shows total nationwide encounters in FY 2026 were the lowest in agency history at 379,243, compared with 2.7 million per year under Biden (seven times higher).

FY 2026 encounters were 88% lower than FY 2023 under Biden, which was the highest fiscal year ever.

In addition to the historically low numbers of migrant apprehensions, DHS officials stated that during the past 17 months, zero migrants were released by Border Patrol into the U.S. interior.

The close of Fiscal Year 2026 marks an unprecedented turning point in American border defense, proving that rigorous enforcement and zero-tolerance deterrence can systematically restore operational control to the southwest border. By pairing the complete elimination of �catch and release� policies with aggressive multi-agency enforcement, the Trump administration has effectively shattered the business model of transnational criminal networks that grew wealthy exploiting open-border vulnerabilities.

As official federal data confirms a staggering 95 percent decline in illegal crossings and 17 straight months of zero interior releases, the historical record demonstrates that strict adherence to the rule of law produces the most secure southern border in American history.

Progressive �Christian� Groups Earned $62M to Settle Muslim Somalians In Minnesota

Two major Christian-identified charities took at least $62 million from government sources to resettle Somalians in Minnesota, precipitating a wave of theft, fraud, gang activity, crime and tribalism.

Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services exploited high-dollar government contracts and were instrumental in turning Minnesota into one of worst localities for fraud in America.

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops, which oversees Catholic Charities, also raked in an astounding $140 million from the federal government to bring Somalians into Minnesota, the New York Post reported.

Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services (the latter of which has recently rebranded as �Global Refuge�) began their work after World War Two and initially worked to help resettle Christians who were displaced thanks to the great war. But now they work to push Muslims into the U.S. and other western nations, importing a religious Reich that would sooner see Catholicism and Lutheranism destroyed.

These groups began their efforts strictly on private funding, but in recent decades have turned to operating heavily dependent on government subsidies.

Since 1993, these two massive groups have resettled more than 29,000 Somalians into Minnesota and earned $2,500 in tax dollars per �refugee.� The federal and state governments provided these funds for benefits for the Somalians including food, clothing, legal assistance, healthcare, social workers, and housing.

Today, more than 100,000 Somalians live in and around Minneapolis, thanks to chain migration where one refugee is permitted to bring his entire extended family into our country free of charge.

�They picked Minnesota because it had extremely generous state social safety net policies and welfare programs, which of course made resettling refugees there easier,� Capital Research Center researcher Parker Thayer told the paper.

Thayer pointed out that few of these Somalians are actually �refugees� fleeing their homeland.

�A lot of these people, while claiming to be refugees, you look at their Facebook pages, or you look at indictments and find that they routinely travel out of the US back to the place they are supposedly a refugee from,� he said.

Thayer also blasted these purported charities for causing societal problems in the U.S., adding, �They�re creating multiple problems by resettling large numbers of people in one area at the same time they�re creating isolated ethnic enclaves across America, which seem to be causing some cultural problems.�

Those societal ills may finally be catching up to these disruptive charities. Several of them have begun laying off employees as donations have dropped and as the Trump administration has cut off the flow of free government money going into their coffers.

Catholic Charities, in particular, laid off hundreds of workers earlier this year in offices across the country.

Another huge source of cash being put to importing Muslims into the U.S. is the Mormon Church in Utah. In 2021, for instance, the church donated $5 million to help resettle foreign �refugees� into the U.S. And by 2021, the church had donated more than three million dollars to the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI).

Federal officials are asking a judge to lift an injunction blocking ICE from detaining and deporting the Salvadoran national to the West African country. �brego Garcia's attorneys are fighting to make that protection permanent.

A Nigerian man forced to cook thousands of meals for the Unknown Gunmen, a militant group linked to political violence in Nigeria, is at the center of a Supreme Court showdown that could determine how broadly immigration authorities can apply a terrorism-related bar to asylum and how far the Trump administration can go in deporting immigrants accused of supporting terrorism.
The Supreme Court agreed Tuesday to hear the Trump administration's challenge to a ruling that overturned Nigerian citizen Izuchukwu Ozurumba's deportation order, setting up a legal battle over whether ordinary services provided to terrorist organizations, including cooking meals, can disqualify immigrants from receiving asylum even when those services are not directly connected to terrorist attacks.
Ozurumba was deported to Nigeria in April 2025 while his appeal was pending.

THE SUPREME COURT IS BACK; THESE FIVE CASES COULD RESHAPE AMERICAN LIFE

At the center of the case is a provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act that bars certain immigrants who provide "material support" to terrorist organizations from receiving asylum. The law lists examples of prohibited assistance, including transportation, communications, housing, money, weapons and training, but it does not explicitly define what constitutes material support.
"The biggest takeaway is that this is a case about who gets to draw the line on a law that affects national security," Bryce Poole, a senior legal fellow with Advancing American Freedom, told Fox News Digital. "Congress wrote a broad rule, and the court interpreted it narrowly."
The case also comes two years after the Supreme Court overturned Chevron deference, a legal doctrine that required judges to defer to federal agencies' reasonable interpretations of ambiguous laws. The 2024 ruling gave judges greater authority to decide what those laws mean.

The 4th Circuit, in a 2-1 ruling, overturned Ozurumba's deportation order and sent the case back to the Board of Immigration Appeals.
Judge James Wynn Jr., an Obama appointee, wrote the majority opinion, joined by Judge Nicole Berner, a Biden appointee. The judges concluded that, although Ozurumba prepared thousands of meals for the group's leaders, his cooking did not provide resources that could be directly used or readily redirected toward terrorist operations.
Although Ozurumba said he was forced to cook under threat of violence, the 4th Circuit did not decide whether the law contains an exception for assistance provided under duress, an issue the court previously addressed in a 2012 ruling that relied on Chevron deference. Instead, the majority found that his cooking for the terrorist organization did not qualify as "material support" that would bar him from asylum, leaving the separate duress question unresolved.

The Trump administration argued that the 4th Circuit interpreted the law too narrowly, insisting that even ordinary services such as cooking meals can help sustain a terrorist organization and free its members to carry out attacks.

"Because he's cooking the meals, one of the armed guards doesn't have to cook the meals and can be an armed guard," Poole said.
"That's one guard who doesn't have to come in off guard duty to cook meals, or that's one bomb maker who doesn't have to stop making bombs to go cook meals, because all this stuff is fungible."
Ozurumba said he initially agreed to work as a chef at a "rural camp," preparing three meals a day for 15 to 17 leaders. He later learned the camp belonged to the Unknown Gunmen.
An immigration judge determined that the Unknown Gunmen qualified as a "Tier III" terrorist organization under federal immigration law, even though the State Department had not formally designated the group as one.
Ozurumba said armed guards prevented him from leaving. According to court records, he cooked for the group's leaders for roughly six months, including three months without pay, before escaping during a trip into town to buy groceries.

Ozurumba said members of the Unknown Gunmen continued threatening and attacking him after his escape, prompting him to flee Nigeria for Venezuela and eventually the United States. He crossed the southern border without valid entry documents in July 2023 during the Biden administration and surrendered to Border Patrol agents.
An immigration judge denied Ozurumba's asylum request and ordered his deportation, a decision upheld by the Board of Immigration Appeals after finding that his cooking violated the federal material-support rule. The 4th Circuit later rejected that interpretation and sent the case back to the immigration board.
Judge Julius Richardson disagreed with the majority, arguing in his dissent that cooking thousands of meals for terrorist leaders freed them to focus on their organization's goals and therefore constituted material support.
"Ozurumba did not run a hot dog stand that the Unknown Gunmen happened to stop by once or twice," Richardson wrote. "Rather, he acted as a private chef, providing three meals a day for over a dozen leaders of a terrorist organization — for months."
Hans von Spakovsky, a legal expert with Advancing American Freedom, also argued that the majority misinterpreted the law.

"The idea that providing over 8,000 meals for the leaders of a terrorist organization and its members is not 'material' defies common sense," von Spakovsky told Fox News Digital. "Richardson correctly cites Napoleon’s famous quote that an 'army marches on its stomach.'

"Other federal appeals courts have all held that providing food and shelter, even if unconnected to a specific terrorist event, constitutes material support within the statute," von Spakovsky continued. "And doing so under duress, even if true, is not an excuse under the statute to avoid removal."
Even if the Supreme Court rules in his favor, a victory would not automatically grant him asylum or guarantee his return to the United States. His case would still need to be reconsidered by immigration authorities.
The 4th Circuit previously declined to order the government to bring him back, instead leaving it up to officials to decide whether his presence in the U.S. would be necessary for further proceedings.

Zamarripa continued on in the interview, saying �Driver�s licenses for undocumented Wisconsinites is going to improve the public safety of all Wisconsinites, whether they�re fifth-generation U.S. citizens, or brand-new newly-arrived immigrants.�

This was not the first time the secretary-of-state-hopeful has brought up licensing for illegal aliens. In 2015, she sponsored a bill in the Wisconsin Assembly that would �provide driver�s licenses to thousands of immigrants in Wisconsin who lack a social security number because they are undocumented or are in the process of adjusting their status,� FOX6 reported.

�Latinos are great consumers,� Zamarripa said at the time. �Latino and immigrant communities have proven (we can look at the stats) we�re wonderful consumers. We want to plug money into our local economy. This bill. as I said, is not an immigration bill. It�s an economic development bill. It�s a public safety bill.�

While her bill did not pass, 19 states, along with the District of Columbia, allow people to obtain driver�s licenses without proof of legal status of being in the United States.

Republican nominee Jay Schroeder, a former member of the Menomonie City Council and the Town of Menasha board, is running against Zamarripa in the November 3 election.

An illegal immigrant pulled over for speeding in Nevada allegedly had enough fentanyl in his truck to kill millions, federal prosecutors say.

Francisco Joel Garcia Farias, 26, now faces federal drug-trafficking charges after a Lincoln County sheriff�s deputy stopped his pickup on a rural highway and a narcotics detection dog alerted to the vehicle, according to the U.S. Attorney�s Office for the District of Nevada.
Inside, authorities say they found 13 large storage totes packed with approximately 30 pounds of suspected fentanyl and 677 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, a combined haul of more than 700 pounds.

Based on that lethal-dose estimate, the fentanyl could potentially kill nearly twice the population of Los Angeles, everyone in Indiana, or roughly the entire population of Paraguay.
"These staggering quantities reflect a blatant disregard for human life, driven purely by profit," Chattah said.

The Justice Department identified Garcia Farias as an illegal immigrant in its announcement of the charges.
The bust began Oct. 13 on U.S. Highway 93 near Ash Springs, Nevada, when a deputy saw the pickup traveling above the posted speed limit, according to prosecutors� account of the criminal complaint.

Authorities say 13 storage totes recovered during an Oct. 13 traffic stop in Lincoln County, Nev., contained approximately 30 pounds of suspected fentanyl and 677 pounds of suspected methamphetamine. Fox News� Fox News

After the dog alerted, deputies searched the truck and uncovered numerous vacuum-sealed packages inside the totes.
Authorities recovered approximately 187 packages of a white crystalline substance weighing about 307.22 kilograms, along with 13 brick-shaped packages weighing approximately 14 kilograms. Field tests of selected samples were positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl, respectively, prosecutors said.

U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche said the seizure kept a potentially deadly drug supply off American streets.
"Anyone who plans to release a deadly drug like fentanyl onto American streets will be prosecuted," Blanche said. "Thanks to the diligent work of federal and local law enforcement, the lethal drugs allegedly possessed by this illegal alien are no longer endangering the lives of countless Americans."

Lincoln County Sheriff Derek Foremaster credited his deputies� traffic enforcement and the trained dog with uncovering the suspected narcotics.

Garcia Farias is charged with possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of a mixture containing fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture containing methamphetamine.
If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life on each count, followed by five years of supervised release, according to prosecutors.

California sued the Trump administration for the 100th time in under two years Thursday, challenging the practice of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arresting people for alleged civil immigration violations at or near state courthouses.
California Atty. Gen. Rob Bonta said such arrests have long been barred because they are unconstitutional and deeply disruptive to the rule of law and the rights of victims, witnesses, defendants and other parties to court proceedings.

�We�ve seen serious criminal charges dropped and entire cases jeopardized because victims and witnesses are too scared to come to the courthouse to testify,� Bonta said. �Our justice system cannot function this way.�
Bonta said his office having to take the Trump administration to court 100 times in less than two years, often alongside other Democrat-led states, was a �sobering milestone� and a reflection not of political interference on California�s part � as the president and his supporters have cast it � but of Trump�s nearly unbridled lawlessness.
�It�s very troubling when the most powerful person on the planet and the president of our country is the one trampling over the Constitution, breaking the law so blatantly and brazenly, so consistently, so frequently,� Bonta said.
Independent legal experts said several factors have driven the wave of lawsuits.

Presidents from both parties have increasingly flexed their executive power, and state attorneys general have increasingly sued in response. During Trump�s first term in office, California � under the leadership of then-Atty. Gen. Xavier Becerra, a current gubernatorial candidate � sued the Trump administration more than 120 times over four years. Texas Atty. Gen. Ken Paxton � now a Republican candidate for Senate � sued the Biden administration just over 100 times in four years.
Trump in this term quickly began implementing an array of policies left over from his first term or outlined in the Project 2025 policy blueprint, many of which Bonta and other Democratic attorneys general were prepared to sue over, experts said.
Trump was also able to appoint a host of loyalists with the help of the Republican-controlled Congress, who helped advance policies that less loyal agency heads would have balked at, and which were sure to draw additional legal challenges, experts said.

Daniel Farber, a professor at UC Berkeley Law School and author of �Contested Ground: How to Understand the Limits on Presidential Power,� said California�s raft of lawsuits is a result of the current Trump administration �doing more aggressive things right off the starting block� � but also repeatedly targeting California specifically.

The White House has consistently derided Bonta�s litigation against the administration as baseless and misguided. White House spokesperson Lauren Bis on Thursday said Bonta should stop bragging about �filing frivolous lawsuits� and �focus on addressing problems in his own state.�
�The reality is, with well over 25 Supreme Court victories, the Administration�s policies have been consistently upheld as lawful, despite some lower courts issuing an unprecedented number of lawless injunctions,� Bis said.

ICE, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment, has defended its arrests near courthouses as a �common sense� approach to apprehending offenders at times and locations where authorities know they will be.
The 100th case

Bonta�s lawsuit argues that such arrests are arbitrary and capricious given the chilling effect they have on justice in the state. They violate the Immigration and Nationality Act as intended by Congress, and interfere with California�s rights under the 10th Amendment to execute its �core sovereign judicial and police functions,� Bonta�s office said.
His arguments echo those made by other state officials in the past. During Trump�s first term, for example, then-California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye called the arrests �disruptive, shortsighted and counterproductive.�
Arrests at or near courthouses began to rise again after Trump took office in January 2025. An ICE memo, issued in May 2025, said agents could conduct �civil immigration enforcement actions in or near courthouses when they have credible information that leads them to believe the targeted alien(s) is or will be present at a specific location.�

Incidents quickly began cropping up. In June 2025, ICE agents arrested two women outside a Los Angeles County courthouse after a hearing in a local criminal case. The same unfolded across the state.

Alejandro Barraza, a criminal defense and immigration attorney, said he has witnessed the effect firsthand.
In October 2025, a client was arrested driving home from a hearing at the Riverside County Hall of Justice. In December, another client was arrested leaving the Rancho Cucamonga courthouse. And a third client chose to plead guilty in his criminal case rather than go to jury trial, despite Barraza�s advice that the case was worth fighting, for fear of being arrested by ICE.
�The victims are losing,� Barraza said. �Our clients are losing their rights to due process. Everyone is losing.�
In June, U.S. District Judge P. Casey Pitts in San Francisco struck down ICE�s expanded courthouse arrest policies nationwide. Although the lawsuit focused on immigration courthouses, the ruling also covered state criminal courthouses, restoring earlier restrictions that barred civil immigration arrests in or near courthouses except in limited circumstances. The Trump administration is appealing the ruling.

Since then, California court officials have tracked arrests by federal agents and reported them to the Judicial Council of California. Thirty people were taken into custody in June, 29 in July, 19 in August and 14 in September.
State legislators have tried to push back. Last month, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a law strengthening California�s protections against civil arrests for people traveling to, attending or leaving courthouses for lawful purposes. The measure extends those protections to public ways within 1,000 feet of court facilities, while preserving an exception for arrests made under a valid judicial warrant.
Bonta said his lawsuit is necessary despite the new California law, in part because the Trump administration thinks that �no state law applies to them,� and courts have in some cases agreed � including the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which this week blocked a state law that would have required federal immigration agents to display identification while working in the state.

The wider legal battle

Bonta�s office has had substantial success in halting some of the Trump administration�s biggest policy moves � including its plans to end birthright citizenship for the U.S.-born children of immigrants, its worldwide tariffs, its deployment of National Guard troops in Los Angeles and other U.S. cities, and its withholding of billions of dollars in federal funding allocated to the state by Congress.
Michael McConnell, director of the Constitutional Law Center at Stanford Law School, said many of California�s lawsuits have been �legally meritorious,� as there is a �whole lot of legal error� coming out of the Trump administration � with a �lot of the overreach� having been �facilitated by the lack of internal checks� from loyal Trump agency heads.
However, he also said that as a California taxpayer, he doesn�t �appreciate having government using my tax dollars for what essentially are in many cases ideological lawsuits, even if meritorious,� because private litigants can and often do bring lawsuits of their own. He said he felt the same way about many of the lawsuits brought against the Biden administration by Republican states.

Bonta said he is proud of his team for challenging the Trump administration every time they believed it had broken the law and harmed California, despite Trump�s intentional effort to make that difficult.
�It was a shock and awe,� he said. �It was flood the zone. It was trying to overwhelm with speed and volume, and we kept pace every time.�
What happens next, he said, will depend on Trump. If he keeps breaking the law in ways that hurt the state or its residents, Bonta said he�ll keep getting sued by California.

An illegal migrant from Mexico with an extensive rap sheet who has been deported from the U.S. five times was arrested in the Lake Tahoe area, authorities said.

He�s previously been convicted of selling drugs, robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and DUI, among other crimes, officials said.
Valdez-Flores is current in ICE custody pending his removal to Mexico, according to DHS.

Valdez-Flores had entered the U.S. legally in 2004 for the first time but didn�t comply with the authorized period of stay and failed to leave the country in time. He was deported three times in 2008 within a time span of four months.
He was deported again in 2009 and in 2016. The details of how and when he entered the U.S. before these deportations are not known at the moment.

�Another criminal illegal alien has been taken off the streets by the brave patriots of ICE,� DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in a statement, adding that �he will be deported so he can never again commit crimes against the people of the United States of America.�

The GOP candidate was referring to the case of Dominican national Oscar Belgal, who was grazed in the neck by ICE agents after the migrant tried to use his car to run them down when they confronted him in the Bronx.

The migrant, whose name was initially reported as Oscar Bergal, entered the U.S. illegally in 2022 and has a long history of criminal arrests and convictions. But leftists have come to his support because he had a child in his car as he was fired upon when he used the vehicle to run down ICE agents.

The pop singer, though, spoke up for the criminal migrant.

�I just want us to take a moment to think about Oscar Belgal tonight,� Styles said from the stage at Madison Square Garden. �The people who don�t look like you and aren�t born where you�re from, they deserve respect, and love, and dignity, and justice.�

Blakeman, though, blasted Styles.

�This is who he sticks up for, rather than federal agents who just want to do their job?� the Republican said.

The dangerous migrant found support in the courts, as well, when U.S. District Judge J. Paul Oetken, an Obama judicial nominee, ruled that the Department of Homeland Security could not deport the criminal while his petition challenging his detention is pending.

The British economy appears to no longer prioritise British workers, with a think tank finding that four in five jobs created over the past decade have been given to foreigners, as the number of Britons shifted onto the welfare rolls soared.

The State of Dependency report from the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) has found that since 2014, only 734,000 jobs were given to British citizens, compared to nearly three million being taken by immigrants. The think tank said that around 408,000 of such jobs were given to EU nationals, while the overwhelming majority, 2.5 million, were handed out to migrants from outside of Europe.

The report found that most of the shifting of employment to foreigners began during the Chinese coronavirus crisis, which also coincided with the United Kingdom officially leaving the European Union, and then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson introducing immigration liberalisations that would pave the way for record levels of immigration into the country, despite having promised the public that his so-called Conservative government would do the precise opposite.

Defending what has come to be colloquially referred to as the �Boriswave� of immigration, Mr Johnson claimed that he was urged by the Treasury to engage in �human quantitative easing�, simply put, flooding the market with migrant labour and thereby slashing wages in the hopes of reducing inflation.

However, in addition to reducing the purchasing power of working Britons, the move also appears to have correlated with many being pushed into state dependency.

According to the CSJ, while the number of migrant workers in Britain rose by 2.1 million since 2020, the number of people in the country receiving out-of-work welfare benefits rose by 2.3 million during the same time period, costing the taxpayer an additional �21 billion ($28bn) in real terms. The report lamented that �employers have gained unprecedented access to overseas labour while taxpayers have absorbed the growing cost of domestic worklessness.�

In total, the report found that some 6.7 million people in Britain are now receiving at least one such benefit, resulting in a bill of �136 billion ($180bn) this year, an increase of �50 billion ($66bn) in real terms since 2019-20, or �1,200 ($1,590)per taxpayer.

Additionally, the think tank claimed that �high immigration has also added substantially to the welfare bill,� with the report finding that visas issued to �dependent� migrants rose by around 400 per cent between 2019 and 2024.

Although mass migration was often pitched to the public as a solution to prop up the welfare state to support ageing indigenous populations, the report found that around �14.3 billion ($19bn) in taxpayer money is currently being handed out to working-age migrants living in Britain, and it is expected to rise to �16.3 billion ($22bn) by 2030.

�This represents a major change in scope to a welfare state founded on the principle of contribution and reciprocity. Migration, welfare and taxation emerge as interconnected parts of the same broken economic model. For too long, policy has prioritised adding migrants to the economy rather than unlocking the potential of even a fraction of the 6.7 million people in the hidden unemployment crisis,� the report said.

Responding to the findings, Reform UK deputy leader Richard Tice told the Daily Mail: �This report is a damning indictment of Labour and Conservative governments who have chosen an open-borders, low-wage economic model that writes off millions of our own people.

�Reform UK will end the welfare trap, halt mass immigration and get British workers back into jobs.�
Reform has said that if elected, it will seek to reduce annual welfare spending by �50 billion ($66bn) a year, in large part by prohibiting foreign nationals from receiving any welfare benefits, which the party has estimated would alone save the taxpayer �21 billion ($28.5bn) a year by 2029, or �700 ($950) per household.

The party has also vowed to scrap Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) residence status, which allows migrants who have lived in Britain for five years to start receiving benefits. Reform has warned that if the Boriswave migrants are granted ILR, they could cost the country upwards of �622.5 billion by the end of their lives.

The contestants for the New York governor�s race met on Tuesday night and battled over immigration and other topics, with GOP candidate Bruce Blakeman ripping Hochul for supporting criminal illegals and her refusal to arrest, convict, and hand illegals over to federal authorities.

With only three weeks remaining until Election Day, Blakeman and sitting Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul faced off during a live debate, the only one scheduled before voters go to the polls.

The Empire State has been on the forefront of the left-wing reply to President Donald Trump�s immigration policies and as governor, Hochul has led the charge, spending billions for freebies for migrants, refusing to allow immigration officers to operate freely in the state, and releasing tens of thousands of dangerous criminals back onto the streets in order to avoid allowing ICE officers to take them into custody for deportation.

Hochul went after ICE during the debate and at one point declared that �ICE is out of control, it�s out of control in Nassau County,� where Blakeman is currently serving as county executive. Hochul cited the anecdote of an 11-year-old boy who cried because his father was detained in an ICE raid.

Blakeman, though, rejected the emotional appeal and pointed out that ICE has removed more than 2,000 illegal migrants with criminal convictions and has made the streets in his county safer. And he blasted Hochul for supporting a criminal with a long criminal record.

During the debate, Blakeman rejected Hochul�s characterization that ICE is �out of control� in Nassau County and noted that there have been no unrest or violence and no incidents at schools, hospitals, or churches as ICE went about their duties in his county. He also insisted that when local governments cooperate with ICE, it makes the community safer.

He added that the recent shooting in the Bronx, in which an illegal migrant gangbanger was grazed in the neck as he tried to use his car to run officers down, would not have happened if it weren�t for Hochul�s sanctuary state policies that shield illegal migrant criminals from ICE detainers.

Blakeman, though, had an emotional appeal of his own to return volley with Hochul. He cited the two women murdered in Nassau County by an illegal migrant, and confronted Hochul, saying, �What do you say to their families?�

Some of the most recent polling seems to show that Hochul is bleeding support among New York�s many Jewish voters.

A recent Siena Poll conducted as the campaign cycle winds down shows that only 56 percent of Jewish voters were looking to reelect Hochul to the governor�s mansion. As CNN noted, Jews are leaning towards Republicans at record rates this year, and the Jewish advantage for Democrats is at a low 13 points, compared to plus forty points in 2018 and forty-nine points in 2022.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals permanently barred California from enforcing a state law that required federal immigration agents to display identification while on duty.
The Justice Department sued to block the ID requirement alongside a related attempt to ban masks for federal agents and local police in fall 2025.
More than a dozen other states have pursued similar statutes, but the appellate court found that California�s law is invalid because it attempts to regulate the actions of federal authorities without authorization from Congress.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals nixed a trailblazing California law on Wednesday, permanently barring the state�s efforts to force federal immigration agents to display identification while on duty.
�As before, we conclude ... the No Vigilantes Act attempts to directly regulate the United States in its performance of governmental functions,� Judge Mark J. Bennett wrote for the panel. �No set of circumstances exist under which the Act would be valid.�
The U.S. Justice Department first sued to block the ID requirement alongside a related law attempting to ban masks for federal agents and local police in the fall of 2025.
The joint case hit Los Angeles federal court at the beginning of this year amid a surge of immigration enforcement in Minneapolis that led to the shootings of civilians Renee Good and Alex Pretti by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

Judge Christina A. Jordan told Just the News the language would strip some of the civil immunity those officials now have. In some places that protection is absolute immunity, the broadest form of the doctrine.

�It allows people who�ve been harmed, where local political leaders tell the local law enforcement they can�t work with federal law enforcement, detainers aren�t honored � to go take that city, take that state to court,� he said.

�So we got a good deal that we worked long and hard on. We just got to try to get it passed in the lame duck.�

The rest of the bill is about cooperation and money. It would bar state and local governments from blocking their own employees from enforcing immigration law, working with federal agents, or asking about a person�s status.

It would require the Department of Homeland Security to issue a detainer when someone is arrested for a criminal or motor-vehicle offense and DHS has probable cause that the person is inadmissible or deportable. Local authorities would have to honor those detainers.

Jurisdictions DHS finds out of compliance would lose certain law-enforcement and immigration funding. That money would go to places that comply. The bill also gives federal immunity to officials and agencies that follow it, and it lets related prosecutions be moved to federal court.

DHS could refuse to hand someone over to a jurisdiction that is not in compliance, and it could not transfer a person who already has a final order of removal.

Just the News tied the push to recent cases.

The outlet cited a September DHS account of Rohit Rohit, an illegal immigrant from India released during the Biden years, who is accused of stalking Shalini Thakur for months and then killing her in a Panera Bread parking lot in Sacramento.

Questions over surrogates giving birth to immigrants' children are being raised as the Trump administration continues its efforts to target birthright citizenship and birth tourism.

Birthright citizenship of immigrants' children is costing federal, state and local taxpayers $150.7 billion annually, according to the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

Half that amount covers education, with the rest spent on healthcare and nutritional assistance, according to FAIR.

Policy analysts warn that broad constitutional interpretations of birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment have enabled foreign nationals to exploit legal loopholes through organized "birth tourism" and commercial surrogacy operations in states such as California, New York and Florida. Surrogacy operations are also common in Northern Mariana Islands, a U.S. territory about 1,000 miles south of Japan.

"Misinterpretation has led to a number of unfortunate and really harmful unintended consequences, with birth tourism being sort of one of those unintended consequences of a misreading of the Constitution," said Mateo Forero, director of investigations at FAIR, who was interviewed by The Center Square.

Birth tourism made headlines again after a high-profile surrogacy case in Los Angeles County involving alleged abuse of surrogate-born children. Guojun Xuan, 66, and Silvia Zhang, 39, both of Arcadia, were charged with one count each of conspiracy to commit child abuse. Xuan also faces one felony count of child abuse, one felony count of accessory after the fact and five felony counts of dissuading a witness.

There were a total of 21 children born from surrogates.

Mitchell Krems, Xuan's attorney, told The Center Square that Xuan is a U.S. citizen, but efforts by The Center Square and other media to determine Zhang's citizenship status has been unsuccessful. Krems has told reporters that Xuan and Zhang are Chinese immigrants.

The couple are in jail in lieu of $20 million bail, and their next hearing will be Friday at Los Angeles County Superior Court in Pasadena. They've pleaded not guilty.

Questions over surrogates giving birth to immigrants' children are being raised as the Trump administration continues its efforts to target birthright citizenship and birth tourism. In August 2026, just five weeks after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Trump�s initial broad executive order restricting birthright citizenship in Trump v. Barbara, the president signed two new executive orders. One focuses on "ending birth tourism," while the other aims at "continuing to protect the meaning and value of American citizenship."

FAIR filed amicus briefs at two stages of the Trump v. Barbara case, arguing for the original 19th-century understanding of the 14th Amendment. FAIR expressed disappointment with the justices' ruling that everyone born in the U.S. is an American citizen, regardless of their parents' background.

However, Forero noted that the administration�s revised approach on birth tourism takes a creative angle aimed directly at the legal gaps left by the Supreme Court.

"They are keyed to kind of the doors that the Supreme Court left open in the Trump v. Barbara decision," Forero told The Center Square. "Basically, it's all keyed to this idea that the children of enemy invaders are not entitled to automatic birthright citizenship."

The administration's revised legal theory seeks to categorize illegal aliens and individuals engaging in organized birth fraud under this principle. Still, Forero emphasized that executive action alone is only a partial stopgap.

"Really, at the end of the day, what we think here at FAIR is that this fix requires more than just executive action," Forero explained. "It requires potential legislation, and obviously, the ultimate solution would be to pass a constitutional amendment to fix the misreading of the 14th Amendment."

While the legal battle plays out, California Attorney General Rob Bonta has described Trump�s executive orders as "unconscionable."

Yet Forero maintains that reforming birthright citizenship is fundamentally about protecting public resources and national interests. Beyond the $150.7 billion annual taxpayer impact, Forero pointed to a growing national security threat: foreign adversaries taking advantage of domestic citizenship rules.

"We have this opening for foreign nationals from places like China who are essentially farming U.S. citizenship," Forero warned. "You have U.S.-born individuals who are then actually living their entire lives back in China under the Chinese Communist Party, which has clearly adversarial interests against the United States. So it's a national security concern as well."

Forero highlighted that birth tourism increasingly manifests through commercial surrogacy, bypassing physical travel entirely.

"Wealthy foreign nationals increasingly hire American surrogates so their biological children are born on U.S. soil and acquire citizenship automatically � bypassing even the need for the mother to travel," Forero said.

According to information posted online by the State Department, law firms, surrogacy groups and fertility centers, a child born on U.S. soil through a gestational surrogate is considered a U.S. citizen regardless of foreign surrogacy arrangements. Official guidelines in the State Department�s Foreign Affairs Manual stipulate that "children born in the United States acquire U.S. citizenship at birth regardless of the use of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and/or surrogacy."

Official state-by-state rankings for birth tourism do not exist because federal agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention do not track tourist-visa births by location. While CDC data recorded 9,576 births to mothers listing foreign addresses in 2024, analysts consider this a significant undercount due to temporary domestic addresses. The Center for Immigration Studies estimates actual national tourist births fall between 20,000 and 26,000 annually. Separate estimates from FAIR and CIS indicate an additional 225,000 to 250,000 children are born to undocumented mothers each year.

According to Forero, organized birth-tourism networks remain concentrated in key regions:

California: The state functions as the primary hub for wealthy Chinese clientele through high-end "maternity-hotel" schemes charging up to $100,000. California remains the only state to face major federal prosecution of these networks, including 2019 indictments against 19 individuals linked to companies such as You Win USA, Star Baby Care and USA Happy Baby. FAIR research indicates Chinese nationals account for over 40% of the U.S. international commercial surrogacy market. New York: A Turkish-language scheme across seven Long Island birth houses resulted in over 100 births, $2.1 million in Medicaid fraud and a 27-month prison sentence for the organizer, according to FAIR.

Florida: A hub for Russian and Eastern European clients centered in Sunny Isles Beach. Prominent operator Miami Mama reportedly closed following a 2020 State Department rule targeting tourist visas, FAIR noted. Northern Mariana Islands: Tourist births spiked to 582 in 2018 (nearly half the U.S. territory's total births) due to a 45-day visa waiver for Chinese nationals. After authorities shortened the visa-free stay to 14 days, tourist births plummeted to 58 in 2024 and 47 in 2025, according to FAIR.

Because cross-border surrogacy remains largely legal and operates in a regulatory gray area, federal authorities have limited tools to police alleged abuses or the public benefit eligibility tied to dependents born with U.S. citizenship, according to Forero.

"You have the unintended consequences of having broad citizenship rules," Forero told The Center Square. "States and Congress need to take a long, hard look at what the rules around surrogacy and cross-border surrogacy specifically need to be and what reforms are necessary."

In addition to research and investigative work on birth tourism, FAIR actively engages in strategic litigation surrounding state immigration policies, including representing 15 New York sheriffs currently challenging New York's sanctuary laws.

Ultimately, Forero said, he views tightening these statutory and constitutional loopholes as vital for the country. "It would be a win for the American people, which is what we should all be focused on from a policy perspective."

But, an expert scholar exclusively told The Post that Nur �misrepresented himself as a refugee� to US authorities when he was really a prominent military commander in the Somalia dictatorship that killed as many as 200,000 people.

Nur is said to have led multiple military brigades, become a regiment commander in Barre�s regime and played a �significant role� in the Somali-Ethiopian war between July 1977 and March 1978, according to former army officer Yusuf Ismail Faraton who served with him and also moved to Minneapolis.

Omar�s fellow military buddy has shared strange videos featuring photos of Somali military actions.

In a bid to keep his dictatorship alive, Barre ordered the massacre of civilians in the Isaaq clan living in the north, now the self-governing Somaliland.
The campaign saw entire cities flattened due to aerial bombardment, wells poisoned and more than a million landmines laid on grazing lands.
Ingiriis believes that Nur was complicit in Barre�s crimes because he �assisted the dictator to remain in power for so long� and �he was protecting his career and his colonel position.�

Nur�s military career came to an end when Barre was ousted in 1991 after two decades of oppression, but Ingiriis claims he was loyal to the dictator even after the brutal regime ended, having run the Daynuunaay military school.
He escaped with his family to Kenya before they arrived in the US as refugees and later settled in Minneapolis where he was no longer �the affluent colonel he was in Mogadishu,� Ingiriis noted. Nur worked as a taxi driver and postal worker to make ends meet.
�I think it is very wrong for the United States to host war criminals,� Ingiriis said. �This creates a constant resentment and sadness among the real victims who were terrorized by the military regime under which Nur Said loyally served.�

Another devastating milestone of the open-borders catastrophe has come to light.

New report out of Germany reveals that hundreds of child marriages have been officially logged across the country, exposing young girls, some as young as 11 years old, trapped in marital unions with adult men hailing from high-risk migration zones like Iraq, Syria, and Pakistan.

The findings emerged after lawmakers Nikolaos Boutakoglou and Emely Knorr of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party demanded answers from the state government.

For years, the legacy media and globalist elites in Berlin insisted that mass migration would enrich European society without consequences. 2018: A 14-year-old Afghan girl was married to a 30-year-old man before the marriage was annulled.
2024: A 16-year-old German girl was married to a 25-year-old Pakistani man. The marriage was annulled.
2024: A 16-year-old Syrian girl was married to a 27-year-old Syrian man. That marriage was also annulled.

Nearly 40 percent involved Syrians, while marriages between two Germans accounted for a mere 0.3 percent, according to AfD politician Nikolaos Boutakoglou.

The Baden-W�rttemberg inquiry also uncovered troubling information from YASEMIN, a counseling service supporting young people threatened by forced marriage.

In 2025, the organization recorded 271 counseling cases, including 80 involving individuals facing the threat of forced marriage.

Of those 80 individuals, 33 were minors.

Four were younger than 12, five were 12 years old, and two were 13.

These figures concern reported threats of forced marriage and must be distinguished from confirmed marriages.

The findings underscore the importance of early intervention, school-based reporting procedures, and adequate protection for children who may be vulnerable to coercion.

AfD politician Emely Knoll stated: �Child marriages are incompatible with our values. Children have a right to safety, education, and a self-determined future. That is why we need effective protection, early intervention, and decisive action against forced marriages.�

This is not new. In 2017, The Gateway Pundit reported that German authorities had already documented more than 1,500 cases of child marriages among refugees, including 361 girls under the age of 14. At the time, 664 of the child brides came from Syria, followed by Afghanistan and Iraq.

Justice Minister Heiko Maas declared that �Children do not belong at the wedding altar, they belong in school,� and lawmakers moved to outlaw child marriage.

AfD co-chair Alice Weidel highlighted the Baden-W�rttemberg numbers, accusing the government and the Christian Democratic Union of tolerating the situation for more than a decade while open borders continued.

She noted that courts annulled only eight of the marriages between 2018 and 2024 and argued the practice will end only through stronger AfD involvement.

Elgin Community College reportedly tried to cancel its Flock Safety contract out of concern for illegal immigrant students, but was unable to after the company refused.

In April of 2025, the Chicago-area school installed six Flock cameras to �enhance the safety and security of students,� according to a report by the Chicago Sun-Times.

Several months later, in September 2025, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained an illegal immigrant student in a campus parking lot. This prompted college administrators to wonder if Flock had been sharing the school�s data with ICE.

Staff at the community college in Elgin, Illinois, then audited the Flock data on campus � and found no evidence that it had been accessed by federal immigration agents. Nonetheless, college officials asked the company to remove the cameras anyway, �out of an abundance of caution,� Elgin Community College President Peggy Heinrich said.

In October 2025, the school reached out to Flock, informing the surveillance company they wanted to cancel their contract and uninstall the camera equipment. Within one day, however, Flock refused the school�s request, insisting it had not violated its contract, Heinrich said.

Given that Flock retains ownership of its equipment and only the company�s staff can take its cameras down, removing such surveillance from Elgin�s campus was not as simple as it may seem.

So the college reportedly reached out to Flock again in December 2025, this time offering to pay for the remaining five months of the contract even if the cameras are taken down. In return, Elgin Community College officials were met with silence.

�We never received a response back from Flock,� Heinrich said.

From there, school administrators tried taking matters into their own hands by covering the surveillance cameras with trash bags and zip ties.

However, Flock staff would later pull up in unmarked vehicles and repeatedly remove the coverings, Heinrich told the Chicago Sun-Times.

�We were kind of in a back and forth for a bit where we�d cover, and then when they�d come to service, they�d remove,� the Elgin president said.

This continued until until April of this year, when Elgin Community College�s contract with Flock expired and the cameras were eventually uninstalled by the company.

The sheriff famously investigated migrant flights from San Antonio to Martha�s Vineyard organized and funded in September 2022 under Florida Governor Ron DeSantis� illegal alien relocation program, according to Breitbart News�s Hannah Knudsen. A report by Breitbart�s John Binder revealed massive Floridian support for the relocation program.

As reported by Breitbart Texas, President Donald Trump�s October 7 get-out-the-vote rally was held at the Joe Freeman Coliseum, with a full house and more than a thousand hopeful attendees watching on a jumbotron outside. Authorities removed about 18 agitators who tried to disrupt the event, issuing two warnings for criminal trespass. According to the Bexar County Sheriff�s Office, no arrests were made at the event.

Salazar�s office initiated a social media campaign on Monday, seeking public assistance to identify individuals who may have been involved in or witnessed skirmishes with the agitators. The Sheriff�s Office said it does not know whether any crimes were committed but is launching a campaign to determine whether any rally-goers violated the law.

In part, the statement read, �The Bexar County Sheriff�s Office is committed to thoroughly investigating all reported incidents and will take appropriate action if evidence establishes that a crime has been committed. We appreciate the public�s assistance and encourage anyone with information to come forward.�

Sheriff Salazar described the incidents at the Trump rally as not major but said he is determined to investigate and prosecute if his investigators can identify who the rallygoers are, who the victims might be, and whether criminal violations occurred.

The sheriff issued a statement as part of his office�s campaign to identify several people pictured in the social media post, saying, �Thankfully, there were no major incidents at the rally last week. However, any form of political violence, no matter how minor, has no place in our society. Each victim will have the opportunity to press charges if he or she so chooses.�

Salazar filed criminal charges over a Florida-based program that saw dozens of released migrants flown from San Antonio to Martha�s Vineyard in September 2022. The flight was part of an initiative to move the migrants away from smaller border cities and into sanctuary cities farther from the border.

Salazar targeted the flight under a program Florida Governor Ron DeSantis championed, alleging the migrants were lured from a city-run shelter in San Antonio with false promises of jobs.

In September 2025, Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales, who received substantial financial backing from a George Soros-backed political action committee during his election campaign, declined to pursue the case Sheriff Salazar brought. In a news release, Gonzales declined to pursue the case, citing a lack of evidence. Gonzales issued a statement at the time, saying, �As prosecutors, it is our sworn duty to bring charges only when the facts of the case support them. In this particular instance, we diligently reviewed what was filed and determined there was not enough evidence to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law that would result in a successful prosecution.�

According to a report by KENS5 News, Gonzales�s prosecutors interviewed thirteen migrants listed by Salazar�s investigators as victims in the case against the organizers of the Florida-organized migrant flight. According to the report, �not a single person said they boarded the plane under fear or intimidation.� None indicated they went against their free will or choice, according to the prosecutors� summary of the case.

President Donald Trump has previously endorsed Salazar, mostly because the GOP needs to win a majority of seats in the House, even if some of those wins are pro-migration advocates. In Salazar�s case, the next primary race will be in the Spring of 2028.

In 2021, roughly 855,000 Colombian migrants lived in the United States, most of whom were invited by prior Colombian migrants via �family reunification� legal routes. Another 400,000 Colombians were welcomed into the United States during President Joe Biden�s tenure.

Salazar�s district includes many Latino migrants. Her Democratic, pro-amnesty rival Eliott Rodriguez claimed the race was tied in mid-September.

Salazar is famous for pushing the �Dignidad� bill which would legalize a flood of new cheap migrant labor for employers throughout the United States.

�People tell me that I am trying to help big business to have cheap labor,� Salazar told a Capitol Hill press conference. �I�m going to answer them: It�s not [just] big business, it�s not only agricultural or construction or hospitality or health care or manufacturing � it�s more,� she added.

The bill would also provide a slow-motion amnesty to at least 10 million illegal migrants � including perhaps 1 million Colombians. Her amnesty would help businesses but would sideline more than 250 million ordinary Americans in their own nation.

In September, President Donald Trump reposted social-media messages that were very critical of Salazar. His action was likely intended to deter other GOP members from joining Salazar�s push to pass her cheap-labor and amnesty bill through the House. The push is using a discharge petition that might force a vote and passage of the bill in the lame-duck session after the November election.

Many U.S. legislators favor migrants over Americans.

A Durham, North Carolina, firefighter lost his life last week in a building fire filled with illegal apartments rented to migrants.

The firefighter, Andrew Brokes, 24, died on October 8 when the building of illegal apartments collapsed on him as he was searching for victims inside.

The building was listed as a commercial property, not residential, according to WTVD-TV.

Reports say that the apartments did not have windows or proper electrical hookups and ventilation, and many lacked proper safety exits.

One woman whose father lived in the illegal apartments said she worried about the living conditions in the building.

�I went there several times, and I�ve told my dad that these are not conditions that families and children should be living in,� Melissa Reyes told the media.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the first to determine how and where it started.

The fallen firefighter�s obituary noted that he �proudly continued his family�s tradition of firefighting, joining the fire service at just 18 years old,� the News & Observer reported.

�Firefighting was far more than a job to Andrew,� the obituary added. �It was his calling and his passion.

He loved serving his community and helping others, often picking up extra shifts at other departments simply because he wanted to spend more time doing the work he loved. His commitment to the fire service reflected the very heart of who he was � a young man who found purpose in being there for others, especially when they needed him most.�

Brokes earned his Emergency Medical Technician certification and joined the Durham Fire Department in May 2025, where he was assigned to Fire Station 13 on Tower Company 5.

The incident brings new focus to the rising costs of housing thanks to Joe Biden�s tidal wave of illegal migrants who have flooded the housing market, driving up costs for everyone and opening the door for unscrupulous landlords looking to make money off illegal aliens.

A report from July by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas showed how the flood of illegal migrants �between 2021 and 2024 affected local labor and housing markets,� Fox Business Network reported.

Researchers estimated that �unauthorized immigrant worker flows accounted for about 30 percent of employment growth, roughly 30 percent of home-price growth, and about 20 percent of rent growth�:

A 1 percent increase in unauthorized workers relative to a local labor force corresponded with roughly a 1 percent increase in overall employment, with no evidence the immigration surge reduced average wages. The same 1 percent increase, however, was associated with a roughly 2.2 percent rise in home prices and a 1.4 percent increase in rents. Researchers found little evidence that homebuilding expanded enough to meet the added demand, concluding the influx acted as a housing demand shock in markets where supply was already constrained.

The economists estimate unauthorized immigrant worker flows accounted for about 30 percent of employment growth, roughly 30 percent of home-price growth, and about 20 percent of rent growth in the average metropolitan area between March 2021 and March 2024.

This month it was reported that Donald Trump�s mass deportation policies have helped to stabilize rents and home prices for Americans, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin told Breitbart News.

�When you allow that many people to come in, it puts a tremendous amount of pressure on the housing prices,� Mullin said. �So when we go into areas, and we do immigration enforcement, when we leave, we see the average � rent drop by about six percent � you�ve got to have national security and affordability at the same time.�

MIAMI (AP) � The Trump administration is cutting the time refugees have to contest the termination of their status, a move critics say could put tens of thousands of people who fled persecution and wars in their home countries on a path to deportation.

The new policy, which goes into effect Wednesday, reduces from 30 to 10 the number of days refugees have to challenge the revocation of their status. It is part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to restrict and transform a program that has served for decades as a pathway for refugees.

The goal of the new policy, according to the document, is to �mitigate potential risks� associated with people who were admitted as refugees but were not eligible for refugee status.
The policy does not say exactly how many people could be affected, but it specifically refers to refugees admitted during President Joe Biden�s administration, when it says there was an �alarming erosion of the integrity� of the refugee program. Refugee advocates dispute that claim.

The Trump administration is already reviewing the cases of at least 185,000 refugees admitted during the Biden administration who still have pending green card applications.
Welcoming refugees has been a matter of bipartisan consensus in the United States since Congress passed the Refugee Act with overwhelming support in 1980. That law made refugee applications some of the most rigorously scrutinized within the immigration system.

Advocates and refugee resettlement groups condemn the new policy

Some maintain refugees will not have enough time to defend their status under the new policy.
�These families did everything asked of them,� said Krish O�Mara Vignarajah, president of Global Refuge. �They submitted to interviews, background checks and years of waiting abroad, only setting foot on U.S. soil once government officials approved their applications.�

Now, she said, "the Homeland Security Department wants to revisit those decisions on a 10-day clock, a notice period wholly insufficient to find a lawyer, translate documents or get records out of a country they were forced to flee.�
HIAS, a major refugee aid group, warned that refugees who have fled violence, persecution and displacement will be at risk of being deported to the countries where they could face harm, persecution and torture.
�They are trying to upend the core principle that refugee resettlement represents permanent protection,� said HIAS vice president Naomi Steinberg.
Church World Service (CWS) said refugees will have �no meaningful opportunity� to respond or appeal before their status is terminated.
�This is a policy designed to facilitate the uprooting and expulsion of members of our communities who fled persecution and were promised safety,� Danilo Zak, director of policy at CWS said.

Zach Kahler, spokesman for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, said the agency has found �an alarming erosion of screening and vetting measures� during the Biden administration in order �to rush processing and maximize the number of refugees admitted.�
The Trump administration, he said, is �ensuring that refugee status is reserved only for those who were eligible under the law.�
The refugee program has been transformed

The Trump administration has drastically altered the refugee program and transformed it into a mechanism for resettling white South Africans in the country.
In September, the government announced plans to limit the total number of refugees admitted to the country in 2027 to 17,500, the majority of whom are white South Africans.

During his first administration, Trump slashed the number of refugees approved every year. The Biden administration built it back and set a goal of admitting 125,000 refugees during the final year of his term.
Upon returning to the White House for his second term, Trump immediately suspended the refugee program, stranding people around the world who had been slated to come to the U.S. Later the administration reopened the program and limited it mostly to white South Africans.
The difference between a refugee and an asylee

Refugees are individuals who applied for their status while outside the U.S., often while living in a refugee camp or a transit country. They undergo screening and processing abroad and are approved for and granted refugee status before arriving in the U.S. Once in the U.S. they can request the green card.

A refugee differs from an asylee, although both are individuals fleeing persecution in their home countries.

An asylum seeker submits a request upon arriving at the U.S. border or after already being within U.S. territory. The process can take several years. An asylee is someone who has already been granted asylum while residing in the United States.

The Department of Homeland Security announced that a 21-year-old Afghan alien, Badshah Sahi, was sentenced to 35 years for multiple child sex charges.

Following the Biden administration�s deadly and chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, Sahi was released into the United States, along with roughly 190,000 Afghan nationals, without proper vetting.

Following an investigation by ICE Homeland Security Investigations Dallas, police departments in Arlington and Forney, as well as sheriff�s offices in Green and Hays Counties, authorities discovered Sahi was producing and was in possession of child sexual abuse material.

�A search of Sahi�s phone at the time of his arrest revealed numerous images and videos of a prepubescent girl and communication with other children online.�

�On at least one occasion, Sahi used an online gaming platform to coerce a child in Indiana to create and send him sexually explicit videos at his direction. The child victim was 10 years old, which was revealed to Sahi during the course of their communications.�

�Additional forensic records revealed that Sahi communicated with a 15-year-old girl in San Marcos and drove to her location, where he recorded himself sexually assaulting her.�

According to court documents, authorities arrested Sahi for sexual assault of a child on Feb. 28, 2025.

Law enforcement believed Sahi was communicating with a 14-year-old girl from his residence in Arlington. Sahi would pick up the girl outside her home in Forney and transport her to various locations to sexually assault her.

On April 1, Sahi pleaded guilty to the charges and has now been sentenced to 35 years in federal prison.

HSI Dallas acting Special Agent in Charge Antwoine Jones noted, �This dangerous child sex offender was recklessly released into the United States without proper vetting during the withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 and went on to prey on innocent children both here in North Texas and online.�

�Thankfully, working with our law enforcement partners, we were able to remove him from the local community and ensure he spends the next 35 years behind bars, where he won�t be able to harm any more children.�

U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould added, �This lengthy sentence sends a resounding message: Child predators will find no safe harbor in the Northern District of Texas.�

�We will find them and ensure they face the full weight of federal prosecution. Our commitment to protecting children is absolute, and we hope this outcome serves as a clear deterrent to anyone contemplating similar crimes.�

Just when you think the radical open-border lobby and activist judges have pushed the legal system to its absolute limit, the United States Supreme Court is now being forced to step in to answer a question that should take precisely two seconds to answer:

Should a man who cooked thousands of meals to sustain members of an armed terrorist organization be granted legal asylum inside the United States?

The case, Blanche v. Ozurumba, involves Izuchukwu Ozurumba, who entered the United States illegally in July 2023 after spending roughly six months in 2022 as a cook for a group known as the �Unknown Gunmen.�

Court records show he prepared three meals a day for 15 to 17 of the group�s leaders at a remote camp outside Lagos, potentially thousands of meals over the period. U.S. officials determined the Unknown Gunmen qualify as a Tier III terrorist organization, The Center Square reported.

An immigration judge and the Board of Immigration Appeals found that this constituted �material support� for terrorism under the Immigration and Nationality Act, rendering him ineligible for asylum. He was later removed to Nigeria.

Ozurumba claims �he was lured� by a job tip, discovered the true nature of the camp, and was forced to continue working (including unpaid for part of the time) under threat before escaping during a grocery run and eventually fleeing to Venezuela and then the U.S. The Board of Immigration Appeals has held that the statute contains no duress exception for providing support to terrorist groups.

A divided panel of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed in September 2025. Judge Andrew Wynn (an Obama appointee) ruled that Ozurumba�s cooking, using food and supplies provided by the group itself, was not �material� because it did not provide anything the organization could �use or readily divert to plan or carry out its terrorist activities.� The majority described him as a �captive laborer.�

In dissent, Judge Julius Richardson argued that feeding the leaders of a terrorist organization for months is quantitatively and functionally material support, an army marches on its stomach, and the meals freed up resources for the group�s activities.

The Trump administration, through Attorney General Todd Blanche and Solicitor General D. John Sauer, petitioned the Supreme Court.

The government argues the Fourth Circuit�s ruling guts the material-support bar, conflicts with other circuits, and would �substantially increase the burden on the government in excluding aliens with links to terrorism.�

As the Justice Department put it, �Providing meals to a terrorist organization�s members is no less a material form of support than providing gasoline for its vehicles.� The law �does not distinguish between guns and butter.�

The Supreme Court granted certiorari on Tuesday. Arguments are expected later in the term, with a decision by the end of June 2027.

The question presented is whether �material support� under 8 U.S.C. � 1182(a)(3)(B)(iv)(VI) requires that the support advance the organization�s actual commission of terrorism.

The Department of Justice warned the Supreme Court that if the Fourth Circuit�s ridiculous precedent is allowed to stand, it will �substantially increase the burden on the government in excluding aliens with links to terrorism�.

If preparing food for terrorists doesn�t count as material support, what�s next? Washing the blood off their uniforms? Driving the getaway vans? Managing their payroll?

A Romanian couple the Department of Homeland Security is calling an illegal alien �Bonnie and Clyde� is in ICE custody after Nassau County police arrested them for a series of jewelry thefts that targeted Good Samaritans, many of them elderly.

Rudi Lacatusu, 28, and Mirabela Lacatusu, 26, were arrested earlier this month and each charged with three counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, according to Nassau County police.

Police say the pair would pull over and ask someone for directions, and after the person helped, Mirabela would get out and offer a thank-you hug.

While her arms were around the victim, she would unclasp the necklace, and the couple would drive away.

In one Valley Stream case, a 73-year-old woman noticed her roughly $2,000 gold chain was gone only after the car had left.

In another, the woman was told it was Mirabela�s �custom� to give a gift and that refusing would offend her.

The gift was a fake. Her real chain was gone.

Investigators have linked the pair to incidents across the four states.

News Nation�s Ali Bradley reports, �According to information provided by DHS, police linked the pair to at least 14 incidents across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Maryland. The necklaces were valued at $2,000�$3,000 each.�

Victims in the Nassau cases were mostly in their 70s.

One senior in Floral Park stopped the theft when the couple started to hug and grab.

�If some stranger�s coming out of the car and they want to give you a hug, that�s a no-no,� Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said, according to a CBS News report.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin told Bradley, �Thanks to local partners in New York, these illegal aliens are in ICE custody and will be removed from our country� If it were up to sanctuary politicians like Governor Kathy Hochul, these criminals would be back on the streets to rob more Americans.�

The couple has now been turned over to ICE and will be sent back to Romania.

The Department of Homeland Security said New York has refused to honor more than 16,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainers since the start of the Trump administration.

The detainers request that authorities hold illegal aliens for up to 48 hours beyond their scheduled release so ICE can take custody.

ICE figures show that the 16,070 detainers not honored from Jan. 20, 2025, to Oct. 8, 2026, are tied to 52,503 criminal charges and convictions, including 131 homicides, 132 kidnappings, and 1,017 sexual offenses.
The charges and convictions also include 9,502 assaults, 4,324 drug offenses, 2,198 weapons offenses, 1,776 robberies, 1,631 burglaries, and 1,561 DUI offenses.
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin faulted New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Gov. Kathy Hochul in a statement:
"We enforce these laws with no help from Mayor Mamdani and Governor Hochul. The Trump Administration is committed to protecting the American people in every city and every state, and we won't let sanctuary politicians stand in our way," the statement said.
DHS said the release follows a shooting last week in New York City in which authorities alleged that an illegal alien used his vehicle as a weapon against ICE officers, prompting an officer to fire, which authorities said was in self-defense.

Less than a week earlier, DHS said, two illegal aliens from the Dominican Republic stabbed an off-duty New York Police Department detective in an attempted robbery. Both had been arrested in New York on earlier charges and released before ICE could lodge detainers.
Hochul signed legislation in May restricting local police departments' cooperation with ICE. The law took effect Aug. 25.
DHS also cited recent cases, including that of an illegal alien from Honduras who had been deported four times and was arrested in March on suspicion of shoving two bystanders, including an 83-year-old Air Force veteran, onto New York City subway tracks.
DHS said the city's jail system in April refused a detainer for an illegal alien from Mexico charged with murder and arson in Queens County.
The administration said another case involves the 2024 murder of nursing student Laken Riley in Georgia by Jose Ibarra, an illegal alien from Venezuela who was arrested by NYPD officers in 2023 and released before an immigration detainer could be issued, according to ICE.

A federal appeals court has denied a bid for protection by a Honduran mother and her son who fled to the United States after facing recruitment threats from the MS-13 street gang.
In an opinion filed on October 8, 2026, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit upheld an order requiring Maria Lily Alvarenga and her minor son, identified in court records as E.D.B.A., to be removed to Honduras. The decision rejected their requests for asylum, statutory withholding of removal, and relief under the Convention Against Torture (CAT).

Court records show that Alvarenga and her son entered the United States without inspection in April 2019. Border Patrol officers stopped her, and the Department of Homeland Security placed her into removal proceedings. During an initial hearing, an immigration judge found Alvarenga removable after she confirmed her Honduran citizenship and admitted she had arrived at the border without a visa or passport.
In subsequent hearings, Alvarenga asked for relief from removal, testifying that MS-13 members repeatedly attempted to recruit her son in Honduras. When the boy refused to join, gang members threatened to kidnap him and �do something� to his mother. Alvarenga told authorities she feared the gang would torture and kill her in retaliation. The boy stopped attending school to avoid the gang, though court records noted that MS-13 never physically harmed Alvarenga or carried out the kidnapping threat, and she never reported the incidents to local police.

The immigration judge denied her claims, finding she did not establish persecution tied to a legally protected ground or show that the Honduran government would acquiesce to torture. The Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) later dismissed her appeal.
Before the Eighth Circuit, Alvarenga argued that the immigration judge committed procedural errors �in numerous ways,� violating her constitutional due process rights. The appellate panel rejected that claim, noting that an immigrant must show both a procedural defect and actual prejudice�meaning the outcome �may well have been different� without the error. The court found Alvarenga offered only a �speculative possibility� of lawful admission evidence and failed to demonstrate she was entitled to remain in the country.

The court also affirmed the denial of her asylum and withholding of removal requests. Alvarenga argued she belonged to a protected social group of �Honduran citizens who refused to comply with gang demands,� while also claiming persecution based on an imputed political opinion of �perceived (imputed) resistance to the narco-state and support of the current governmental structure.�
Citing circuit precedent, the panel ruled that refusing gang recruitment or general opposition to criminal violence is too diffuse to qualify as a distinct social group or an imputed political opinion under federal immigration law.
Finally, the judges rejected Alvarenga�s application for CAT protection. Under federal regulations, an applicant must show that foreign public officials would inflict or exhibit �willful blindness toward� torture. Because Alvarenga never informed Honduran law enforcement about the threats, the court found no evidence that officials were aware of her situation or would acquiesce to harm against her family.

A Slovak member of the European Parliament said Wednesday that street violence, sexual attacks and Islamist agitation seen in parts of Western Europe have not occurred in Poland or Slovakia because those countries rejected the same migration policies as countries like France, Germany, and Belgium.

Milan Mazurek of the Europe of Sovereign Nations group spoke during a debate on Islamist entryism and Muslim Brotherhood networks. "Why we don't have it in Slovakia? Why we don't have it in Poland? What is the difference? We did not follow your insane migration policies," he said.

At the Gustave-Eiffel high school, bin fires spread to the facades of two houses opposite the school. Firework mortars were reportedly fired at the school building.
In the Bordeaux area, clashes and fires were reported at Montesquieu, Les Iris and �lie-Faure, as well as Gustave-Eiffel. Ten arrests were reported for arson, damage and projectiles. A firefighter was injured near Montaigne the day before.

At Jean-Mermoz high school in Montpellier, fires destroyed the caretaker�s lodge at a side entrance. Students were evacuated.
Mass arrests
As of Sept. 30, 356 high schools were disrupted, 625 people arrested, and 83 police officers and gendarmes injured, according to Interior Minister Laurent Nu�ez.

Poland and Slovakia rank at the bottom of European figures. Rape counts compiled through the European Institute for Gender Equality run roughly 500 to 600 cases a year in Poland, or about 1.3 per 100,000 people, and about 100 cases in Slovakia, or about 1.8 per 100,000.
Meanwhile, Sweden recorded nearly 9,000 rape cases in the same period, France more than 40,000 and Germany more than 13,000.

As California grapples with soaring Medi-Cal costs � including billions spent on healthcare for immigrants without legal status � Gov. Gavin Newsom and Democratic lawmakers have backed a revised health-plan tax in response to new federal restrictions, a move critics warn could shift more costs onto privately insured Californians.
The tax has united an unlikely coalition of doctors and health insurers against him, with critics warning it could make California even more expensive.
To preserve billions in Medi-Cal financing after Washington tightened the rules governing health-plan taxes used to draw federal matching funds, Newsom backed a redesigned tax that would raise the levy on private health plans beginning in 2027 if federally approved, potentially increasing premiums for their customers. Providing healthcare to illegal immigrants cost California an estimated $12.4 billion in 2025, the Associated Press reported.

"The One Big Beautiful Bill Act limited California's ability to target the tax just on Medicaid insurers, so California is proposing to raise the health insurance tax on people that have private coverage ... the estimates are that would increase insurance for families by $400 a year," he told Fox News Digital. "That is just because California doesn't want to deal with its unsustainable spending ... there are many people on the program who are not eligible for the program, and that is not even accounting for the fact that California has expanded Medicaid to all unauthorized immigrants in the state."
California's attempt to shore up Medi-Cal's bottom line follows federal changes that will prevent the state from continuing its existing health-plan tax structure after 2026, forcing a redesign of a financing mechanism that has generated billions of dollars for the program.

Proposition 35, the initiative in question, limits how much California can tax commercial health-plan enrollment, constraining the state's options as it tries to comply with new federal rules governing the much higher tax previously imposed on Medi-Cal enrollment. The proposition was passed with overwhelming support from Californian voters.

"California voters passed Proposition 35 and made it law. The state does not get to ignore that law simply because following the law is inconvenient," California Medical Association CEO Dustin Corcoran said in a statement.
Health insurers warn the cost of the revised tax could be passed directly on to consumers through higher premiums, estimating an increase of about $100 per person per year. A family of four, for example, could face an additional $400 annually on top of normal rate increases.
Newsom spokeswoman Tara Gallegos said that the governor maintains that his tax increase is not rendered illegal by the proposition.
"The state disagrees with their claims, and we believe the courts will too," she told Fox News Digital of the lawsuit.
H.D. Palmer, deputy director for external affairs at the California Department of Finance, explained to Fox News Digital that the new tax measure was designed to comply with the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. According to Palmer, the state's current health tax regime may conflict with the bill and that the state is submitting a proposal with two tracks � one that is similar to the current taxing scheme but might run afoul of federal law and another that conforms to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act by shifting costs toward private plans.

"If the federal government declines to approve the tax that is structured similar to the existing [health plan tax], Proposition 35 may then sunset per current law," he added.

California has faced a mass exodus of people and businesses over the past decade, with the cost of living being one of the chief reasons individuals cite for leaving the Golden State. One analysis found that almost 10 million people moved from California to other states between 2010 and 2024, while just over 7 million moved to California from elsewhere in the country during the same period.
