Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) praised Somali migrants as the �CEOs of the future� and claimed that Somalis were being criticized because people see �the kind of economy and entrepreneurship� they are trying to build.

While speaking at a Somali Networking Night event, Frey spoke about how Somali migrants contributed �so greatly� to the city of Minneapolis, and expressed that the city was proud to have them there.

Frey also noted that the Trump administration came after the �whole community� of Somali migrants.

�You saw quite directly back in January and February a federal government that was coming after a whole community, and our incredible Somali people. I think one of the reasons that they were coming after you is they saw the kind of economy and entrepreneurship that you�re helping to build,� Frey said.

�They saw suddenly that the CEOs of the future are not all gonna look like me. The CEOs of the future are going to be from a thousand different backgrounds.�

Frey added that Somali migrants were �not just the CEOs and entrepreneurs of tomorrow� but of right now.

�Suddenly, you all are creeping up in brilliant fashion. You�re not just the CEOs and entrepreneurs of tomorrow, but of right now,� Frey said. �You are showing that.�

Mayor Jacob Frey says the reason people are "coming after" Somalis is because they "saw the type of economy and entrepreneurship" they are trying to build and that Somalis are the "CEOs of the future".

In January, President Donald Trump claimed to reporters that Somalians were ripping off the United States of roughly $19 billion. Trump added that his administration would �cut off funds to the Somali-related fraud corruption� occurring in states like California, Illinois, and Minnesota.

�The Somalians are ripping off our country, to the tune of, looks like $19 billion, but that�s only what they can find,� Trump said.

Trump�s comments at the time came after several citizen journalists highlighted �potential Somali fraud of taxpayer funding� in states such as Washington, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

In December 2025, citizen journalist Nick Shirley shared a video where he visited several childcare centers in Minnesota that had allegedly received millions of dollars in federal aid.

As he was seen visiting the childcare centers, there did not appear to be any signs of children.

States that are disaster-prone and traditionally reliant on the Feds for help will need to pinch their pennies and deal with their own emergencies in the future, the head of FEMA said Tuesday at a conference in Little Rock, according to a report from the national news outlet Politico.

Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Cameron Hamilton gave more details about the Donald Trump administration’s plans to have states fend for themselves in the aftermath of floods, tornadoes and other emergencies.

Politico reporter Thomas Frank obtained a recording of Hamilton’s remarks, made at the National Emergency Management Association’s annual conference.

Frank reports that “the Trump administration plans to launch ‘national mutual aid, whereby states help each other recover from damaging storms, floods, wildfires and other events, Hamilton told state emergency management leaders.”

Trump has spoken for years about his DOGE-related plan to shut down FEMA and other longstanding federal agencies.

On Tuesday, Hamilton reportedly made his argument using language similar to how conservatives speak about social safety net benefits for poor people, essentially saying that Federal assistance is creating dependency among states that should pull their own selves up by the bootstraps.

This dependency argument is a newfangled conservative way to think about the federal government, but one Arkansas Republican leaders have already found not particularly to their liking – at least not when we’re the ones who need the cash.

In 2025, Gov. Sarah Sanders and the entirety of the state’s congressional delegation sent a letter to Trump asking him to reconsider after he denied Sanders’ request for a major disaster declaration following a double whammy of fatal storms.

POLK COUNTY, Fla. � A traffic stop over dark-tinted windows led to a felony arrest Sunday afternoon near Bartow Executive Airport, according to the Polk County Sheriff�s Office.
A deputy was patrolling Bomber Road around 1:30 p.m. when he spotted a white Chevrolet pickup truck with front windows that appeared to be tinted too dark. The deputy pulled the truck over and approached the driver, identified as 44-year-old Juan Duarte of Mexico.

When asked for a valid driver�s license, Duarte handed over a Mexican passport instead, telling the deputy he did not have his license on him.
Investigators soon found out why. State records showed Duarte did not possess a valid license because it had been suspended back in 2008. Over the following years, Duarte accumulated three prior convictions for driving with a suspended or revoked license�two in 2009 and a third in 2015.

Deputies took Duarte into custody and booked him into the Sheriff�s Processing Center. He faces a charge of driving while license suspended or revoked, marked as a third or subsequent violation.
While the offense typically carries a third-degree felony classification under Florida law, authorities determined that Duarte is currently in the United States illegally. Because of his legal status, the charge was upgraded to a second-degree felony.

Deputies also cited Duarte for having illegal window tint on the truck. Federal authorities with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were notified of the arrest and subsequently placed an immigration hold on him at the local facility.

The BBC has been mocked for describing the France riots as 'mostly peaceful' as background footage showed Paris in flames and masked thugs battling police.A report on the corporation's flagship News At Ten, covering the weekend of nationwide rioting and looting, has been accused by some viewers of downplaying the carnage.

The coverage from the French capital on Sunday night's show included the BBC's Paris correspondent describing the protests as 'mostly peaceful'.
His words came as a voiceover to footage of fights in the streets between masked thugs and police, fires, explosions and looters attacking a wine shop.
Demonstrations began over the cost-of-living crisis, education standards and President Emmanuel Macron's government but they swiftly descended into anarchy.
Several cities, including Paris, have now banned protests while the government considers declaring a state of emergency.
James Waterhouse, speaking during a package on Sunday's News At Ten, said: 'In Paris and beyond, half a million people had filled cities across France to protest over the future of their country.
'They were mostly peaceful, but as we saw in the capital, in the wings were those who wanted to take advantage of the disorder.

The backdrop was footage of carnage including blazes such as here in the heart of Paris at the Place de la Republique.

'The shops that have been hit have been completely gutted, like this wine shop has been looted top to bottom.
'And this morning, in Paris and across France, there is an anger - few believe this was at the hands of the genuine protesters, but down to an opportunistic minority who came in and sought to rob and cause carnage.'

Viewers have questioned the phrasing, with some accusing the corporation of playing down the extent of the widespread chaos and how many violent offenders were taking part.
Writer and broadcaster Emma Trimble posted: 'If it were not for social media, we would have no idea what is going on in France. The BBC are still claiming it is "mostly peaceful".'
Another wrote: 'Mostly peaceful protests is how the BBC described the unrest in France. Another narrative to gaslight millions.'
Comments on the BBC News channel on YouTube, underneath the video shared, included: 'Mostly Peaceful... Lets ignore the looting, burning down of buildings, cars, and bikes on the street.'
Another viewer said: 'How can a state broadcaster possibly say any of the above was "mostly peaceful" - this is utter nonsense.'
Reform UK's deputy leader Richard Tice, whose party wants to scrap the licence fee, said: 'The BBC is broken. Calling the riots in France "mostly peaceful" tells you everything you need to know.'
Others took issue with how Limoges Town Hall was described as 'badly damaged' by News At Ten presenter Jane Hall after it was set ablaze on Saturday, with one viewer responding: 'That town is completely destroyed, not damaged.'

Sunday night's report from Paris featured interviews with victims of the violence including owners of shops ransacked and a woman who was injured and believed she had been hit in the face with an iron bar.

A BBC spokesman said: 'No one watching, reading or listening to BBC News coverage of the France protests and riots can be in any doubt as to what was happening - there is coverage of the fires, the looting and violence.
'James Waterhouse and the team of reporters in France over the weekend gave broader context to the protests and riots � making the point that as well as the destructive scenes, several hundred thousand people were on the streets in peaceful protest, and those carrying out the violence and looting were a small fraction of that number.'
About 2,400 people were arrested over the weekend and authorities said thousands of businesses were damaged or looted.
President Emmanuel Macron denounced what he called 'unrestrained violence' by 'insurrectionist elements from radical far-left groups, joined by numerous criminals'.
Paris police issued an overnight curfew on Monday in two areas of the French capital aimed at protecting 'people and property from the violence and looting', the city's police said in a statement.

Prime Minister S�bastien Lecornu had earlier called for 'very limited' and 'localised' curfews.
He said in a post on X today: 'The targeted curfews have contributed to the calm of last night.'
He added that such measures could be extended 'where the situation requires it'.

Following the sanctioning of foreign Muslim Brotherhood groups by the Trump administration, the European Parliament recently took its own action against the transnational radical Islamist group.
As Europe begins to respond to the threat of radical Islam across the continent, an overwhelming majority of the European Parliament voted for a resolution that condemned the Muslim Brotherhood and its actions.
European Parliament member C�line Imart of France, who sponsored the resolution, called the vote �a historic victory because it is a European first. For the first time, Europe has voted on a text that tackles Islamist entryism and the Muslim Brotherhood.�
Imart posted on X that she had �broken a taboo that Europe has been dragging around like a chain: this victory signifies a major doctrinal shift in the institutions� We were able to transcend partisan divides on a major issue for our societies and our youth.�

The release also stated, �While Europe must remain free, open and faithful to its principles, it can �no longer fund, consult or legitimize networks that use its language, procedures and funding to weaken its values from within,�� but �MEPs stress that anti-discrimination policies must not be used to shield Islam from criticism or legitimize organized Islamist networks.�

President Trump renews call for New Mexico to change its name to 'New America'

President Donald Trump called for New Mexico on Monday to rename itself "New America," claiming the name change would "add great value and prestige to the state."
The president's urging comes a month after he trolled the state by posting several maps on social media that suggested the name change to "New American." Trump previously signed an executive order that renamed Lake Ontario, which borders Canada to "Lake America," and changed the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

Trump suggested renaming the predominantly Democratic state would cause home values and income to rise and suggested it would make the state's "crooked elections" be "honest again."
"New Mexico should immediately change its name to New America," Trump posted to Truth Social. "We are not Mexico, we are the United States of America! The name would add great value and prestige to the State!
"Home values and incomes would rise, and you would be even prouder while saluting our beautiful American Flag," he continued. "Maybe even the crooked elections, that New Mexico is known for, would become honest again!"
New Mexico Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham blasted the president again for pushing for the state's name change, and pushed back on his comment about the security of the state's elections.
"Let me repeat: New Mexico was New Mexico long before the United States existed and we'll be New Mexico forevermore," she posted on X. "While we're talking about our great state, Americans should also know we've been busy delivering universal, no cost child care. We're also the only state that fully replaced health care subsidies that were gutted by Trump and congressional Republicans.

The Trump administration has said it has revoked more than 300,000 visas issued to foreign nationals, claiming it has done so at a faster pace than any previous administration.

A spokesman for the US Department of State said on social media on Tuesday that the revocations targeted foreign nationals in the United States on visas who had broken the law, committed fraud or posed threats to national security.

“We have zero tolerance for foreigners here on visas who break the law, commit fraud, or undermine our national security,” Tommy Pigott, State Department spokesman, said in a post on the social media platform X.

The administration would continue taking action to secure US borders and protect national security, he added.

Al Jazeera has reached out to the State Department for comment.

The number of visa revocations exceeded 175,000 in August.

In January, the department said it had revoked more than 100,000 visas, a record at the time.

The administration has also adopted a stricter policy on granting visas, with tightened social media vetting and expanded screening.

Rights advocates and human rights experts have condemned the Trump administration’s social media screening efforts, which they say threaten free speech and are akin to surveillance and the singling out of immigrants.

As France continues to reel from the unprecedented violence that engulfed parts of the country over the weekend, the stories of those who fought back against rioters have sparked a wave of public support.
Millions of social media users have watched the now iconic scene of a gaming shop employee in Nice, identified as Pierre, confronting looters who tried to enter his store - even after one hooded individual kicked him in the back and another person hurled objects at him.

Pierre, who works at a Micromania store, told French TV network BFM that he put himself "in front and hoped that people wouldn't try to come in too aggressively."
Locals came to support him, and the mayor of Nice Eric Ciotti also visited him on Sunday, as others scour through videos to help police identify the attackers.
Pierre has turned not just into a symbol of courage in France, but he has also become an icon for gamers. An image of him standing defiantly in the shop entrance next to a poster of Goku, a character from the Dragon Ball manga series, has quickly transformed him into a superhero around the world, with some branding him the "French Goku."
Another social media video that struck a chord with French society is that of a mobile phone shop owner in Paris, seen holding his head in despair after his store was looted on Saturday.
He was later identified as Hassan and is said to have opened his shop just three months ago.

Another social media video showed the aftermath of his shop's ransacking.
On Sunday, someone started a public fundraiser to help Hassan. By Monday afternoon, it had raised over �88,000.
New videos have also emerged since Sunday evening showing other heroic individuals taking matters into their own hands and facing off against rioters and looters.
One social media video showed a female shop owner armed with what appeared to be an iron bar pushing back looters in Paris.
At the same time, a Paris resident was filmed pouring what was said to be hot water on looters in an effort to defend an optician�s shop below as it was attacked.
Other social media videos circulating widely in France show a man slapping a looter in Saint Etienne and another stopping a rioter from destroying a bus stop. In Mulhouse, employees of a mobile phone shop were also filmed fighting back against people trying to get in.

Hundreds of police officers, gendarmes and firefighters were injured during the weekend�s violence in France, authorities have said, with around 2,400 people arrested.
French President Emmanuel Macron has warned that those responsible for the destruction �must pay� for their actions and that those who looted "must pay back."
Prime Minister S�bastien Lecornu also announced on Monday a "massive" law enforcement operation following the weekend's events.

The former Columbia University graduate student has spent more than a year fighting immigration charges he says are retaliation for pro-Palestinian speech. His latest filing puts that fight before the nation's highest court.
Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil asked the US Supreme Court on Monday to hear his case, seeking to avoid re-arrest and deportation by immigration authorities under President Donald Trump�s administration.

Khalil�s lawyers filed a petition for a writ of certiorari asking the justices to overturn a ruling from the Philadelphia-based 3rd US Circuit Court of Appeals that opened the door for ICE to detain him again. The stakes are direct: if the Supreme Court declines to intervene, federal immigration authorities could move to re-arrest Khalil, a legal permanent resident who lives in New York with his wife and young son.
What Khalil�s lawyers are asking the court to do

The petition asks the Supreme Court to review the 3rd Circuit�s decision that federal immigration law barred a lower-court judge from ordering Khalil�s release from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody. According to Reuters and the Japan Times, which carried the same wire report, Khalil�s legal team wants the justices to reverse that ruling so a district court judge can hear his claims.

Khalil had already sought time to prepare the filing. Court records show he requested a 30-day extension, to and including September 21, 2026, to file the certiorari petition in the case docketed as No. 26A90. The petition filed Monday is the product of that timeline.
The ruling that put re-arrest back on the table

The trouble for Khalil began with a 2-1 decision by a three-judge 3rd Circuit panel, which determined that his claims could not be heard by a district court judge. A later attempt to have the full appeals court revisit that ruling failed, according to Reuters reporting from May 2026, leaving the panel�s decision in place.

That ruling matters because it limits where Khalil can argue his case. His position has been that a federal district judge should be able to consider his challenge to ICE detention. The 3rd Circuit�s reading of federal immigration law forecloses that path, which is the legal question his Supreme Court petition now presents.
How Khalil ended up in ICE custody in the first place

Khalil was a graduate student at Columbia University in New York when plain-clothes ICE agents arrested him in the lobby of his student housing in 2025, despite his status as a legal permanent resident. The arrest, captured on recordings that circulated widely, made him one of the most visible figures in the administration�s campaign to detain and deport noncitizens who engaged in pro-Palestinian activism on college campuses.

He was held for 104 days, much of that time in Louisiana, before courts ordered his release. His son, Deen, was born while he was in detention. In a June 2026 interview with NPR, Khalil described his current life as consumed by litigation: �The Trump administration has consistently tried to push me out of the country. So I have so many legal battles, so I do that now full time.�
The government�s case against him, and what it has not shown

Federal officials have painted Khalil as an antisemite and a Hamas supporter because of his role leading student protests at Columbia against Israel�s war in Gaza. NPR�s reporting notes that in the time since those claims were made, the government has provided no public proof of them.

Khalil�s own position is that he is being targeted for his speech, not his conduct. That framing turns his case into more than a routine immigration dispute. It raises the question of whether immigration enforcement powers can be used against a lawful permanent resident because of political expression, an issue with implications well beyond one man�s status.
Why the Supreme Court�s decision matters beyond Khalil

The case sits at the intersection of immigration law and the First Amendment. If the 3rd Circuit�s ruling stands, noncitizens in Khalil�s position may have limited ability to challenge detention in district court, even when they argue the enforcement effort is retaliation for protected speech. If the Supreme Court takes the case, the justices could clarify, or reshape, that access.

Civil liberties advocates view the case as a test of whether noncitizens enjoy meaningful judicial review when the government invokes national-security-adjacent grounds. The administration, for its part, has defended its authority to remove noncitizens it deems aligned with hostile interests. The Supreme Court has not yet said whether it will hear the case, and the government�s response to the petition will shape the next phase.
What happens next

The justices now decide whether to grant certiorari. There is no announced timeline, and the court denies the vast majority of petitions it receives, so Khalil�s team faces long odds even before the merits are considered. In the meantime, he remains free but exposed: the appellate ruling that opened the door to re-arrest stands unless the Supreme Court acts.

For Khalil, who told NPR he walks free �only after an army of lawyers sued the administration,� the petition is the culmination of more than a year of legal battles. For the courts, it is a fresh opportunity to define how far immigration enforcement can reach into political life on American campuses. Either answer will echo well past this case.

A total of 1.36 million people obtained lawful permanent resident status nationwide in fiscal 2024, according to data from the Office of Homeland Security Statistics based on U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services records. That was up from 1.17 million in 2023 and was the highest figure in the 2015-2024 table.

Newsweek has created a map showing the number of people who obtained lawful permanent resident status in each state in 2024.
What The Data Shows

Florida recorded 219,470 new lawful permanent residents in 2024, narrowly exceeding California’s 217,420. Texas ranked third with 160,400, followed by New York with 136,750.
The figures predate a series of moves by the Trump administration to tighten scrutiny of legal Immigration, including pathways to permanent residency.

New Jersey recorded 58,180 new lawful permanent residents, while Illinois had 44,650, Virginia 37,850, Massachusetts 36,180, Georgia 35,100 and Pennsylvania 34,850.
At the other end of the spectrum, Wyoming recorded 510, Vermont 630, and Montana 650. Alaska had 1,100, and South Dakota recorded 1,070.

IMPORT CHANGES TO U.S. IMMIGRATION POLICY TAKE EFFECT NEXT MONTH.

Several states experienced particularly large increases from 2023 to 2024. Florida’s total rose by 63,970, or about 41 percent, from 155,500. Texas increased by 33,470, or about 26 percent, from 126,930. Kentucky rose from 7,830 to 12,120, an increase of about 55 percent.
California’s total increased more modestly, from 205,040 in 2023 to 217,420 in 2024. New York rose from 127,980 to 136,750.
The state figures represent where people lived after obtaining lawful permanent resident status, rather than necessarily showing where they first entered the United States. The federal data also cover people who became permanent residents through adjustment of status while already in the country.

Trump Crackdown On Legal Immigration

It comes as the Trump administration increases scrutiny of legal immigration, with more recent federal data showing approval rates falling in several major categories.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services data for April through June 2026 showed the approval rate among decided green card applications fell 2.6 percentage points from the previous quarter. The rate for family-based cases dropped from 86 percent to 81.7 percent, while employment-based cases slipped from 93.9 percent to 93 percent.

The steepest decline was among Cuban applicants. Of 586 cases decided during the quarter, 139 were approved and 447 denied, an approval rate of 23.7 percent. That was down from 52.6 percent in the previous quarter.
The figures come as the administration has made changes to the legal immigration system and increased scrutiny of applications. In May, USCIS issued guidance emphasizing that adjustment of status is discretionary and saying people temporarily in the United States who seek permanent residency should generally apply through the consular process abroad, except in extraordinary circumstances.
On October 8, the Labor Department suspended Microsoft and Adobe from the PERM program, a key step in the process employers use to sponsor foreign workers for green cards. The department said it would stop accepting new applications and processing pending cases involving the companies.

Vice President JD Vance singled out Microsoft, pointing to roughly 6,000 layoffs while citing about 6,300 H-1B approvals and nearly 3,000 green cards. Microsoft disputed the suggestion that its immigration filings represented replacements for laid-off workers, saying most involved existing employees.
Microsoft President Brad Smith later called the administration’s characterization “completely off base,” saying many of the employees seeking green cards had already worked at Microsoft for years.
The administration has also faced challenges in court. A federal judge ordered the State Department on October 14 to open registration for the delayed 2027 Diversity Visa lottery, which provides up to 55,000 immigrant visas annually to people from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States. Lottery winners must still meet immigration requirements before receiving a visa.

The same alliance that is doing it in France will also bring rioting, looting and civil unrest to the United States as well. It is known as “the Red/Green alliance”, and their shared goal is “revolution” all over the western world. Right now we are witnessing an unprecedented tactical convergence between far-left/Marxist movements (“red”) and radical Islamist groups (“green”), and this should deeply alarm all of us. Ultimately, the long-term goals of far-left organizations are much different from the long-term goals of the radical Islamists. But they both deeply hate the same people, and they both want to see the established order overthrown. So for now they are allies of convenience, and they are not afraid to use violence to achieve what they want.

It is certainly true that a relentless cost of living crisis that stretches all the way back to the beginning of this decade is causing immense economic distress both here in the United States and all over the western world. The far left and radical Islamists are attempting to use this economic turmoil to help fuel their anti-government riots.
What we are witnessing in France is a perfect example of this.
It is being estimated that 550,000 people participated in the riots on Saturday, including 110,000 in the Paris metro area alone…

Chaos exploded across France on Saturday as 550,000 protesters flooded the streets, torched cars and buildings, looted from posh stores including Louis Vuitton and Herm�s, and even threatened to storm the �lys�e Palace—prompting a defiant President Emmanuel Macron to rage: “Let them come and get me!”

In Paris alone, an estimated 110,000 demonstrators took to the streets, with masked protestors backed by the country’s far-left opposition leader smashing storefronts, targeting luxury business and confronting riot police armed with tear gas and water cannons.

The mainstream media tried to frame the riots as “mostly peaceful protests”, but everyone could clearly see that was not true at all.
Many of the rioters seemed to revel in the destruction that they were causing.
In one particularly disturbing incident, a historic town hall that had somehow survived both world wars was purposely set on fire…

The iconic Limoges Town Hall, which was built in 1883 and survived both world wars, came tumbling down in a blaze after it was torched by rioters in the south-west of France.

A video seen by 1.4 million people on X showed the building, which played a significant role in the French Resistance during the Second World War, collapsing, with its bell tower engulfed in flames.

So where were the police?
They were on the run.
The rioters vastly outnumbered them, and one official described the chaos in the streets as “apocalyptic”…

‘It was apocalyptic,’ a senior commander told Sunday’s Le Parisien newspaper. ‘Law enforcement was unable to contain the multitude of simultaneous attacks occurring across the country, and was quickly overwhelmed by determined protesters.’

Explaining how a number of districts fell into ‘the hands of rioters’, the source said ‘there weren’t enough personnel or ammunition.’
The ‘apocalyptic rioting’ followed intense violence in recent weeks which saw gangs of agitators taking part in running battles with the forces of law and order.

Of course whenever there is rioting, there will also be looting.
In Paris, very large groups of “masked men wearing black hoodies” were grabbing whatever they could get their hands on…

Smashing shop windows and snatching boxes of goods, looters in Paris poured into stores across the capital on Saturday, facing no resistance from authorities as nationwide protests degenerated into violence.

It appears that in many cases the looting was not spontaneous at all.

In fact, it appears that some groups of looters were “highly organized”…

According to AFP, some looting appeared highly organized. Groups of approximately six young men, wearing masks and gloves, approached stores and first disconnected their security cameras. Only then did they smash the windows, break into the premises and steal merchandise. The businesses targeted included supermarkets, pharmacies, luxury boutiques, clothing stores, electronics retailers, cosmetics shops and opticians. In Paris, footage showed looters stripping mobile phone stores of their merchandise and throwing products to accomplices waiting outside.
One widely circulated video, said to have been filmed in Paris, showed a woman desperately trying to stop masked looters from breaking into a supermarket. “Why are you doing this?” she shouted as the intruders pushed through the entrance. One initially placed a hand on her back, apparently trying to move her aside gently, but others surged forward and forced their way into the store. “Stop! That’s not the point!” she cried as she was pushed away. Her appeals failed to stop the looting.

This is what the far left does.

They riot, loot and commit acts of random violence.
The largest far left party in France knew what would happen, but they publicly backed the “protests” anyway…

The disorder is backed by the far-left opposition leader La France Insoumise (France Unbowed) party. Its leader, Jean-Luc M�lenchon, is second in the polls for next year’s presidential elections, which take place in six months.
M�lenchon blamed the authorities for blocking protesters from reaching Place de la R�publique in Paris, which he said had been designated as the start of the protest.

It would be bad enough for leaders of France Unbowed to openly encourage the rioters.

But the truth is that many of them have also been active participants in the “protests”…

French Prime Minister S�bastien Lecornu took a more direct approach than Macron, saying the student movement has been “instrumentalized by the allies of France Unbowed (LFI)… for electoral reasons.” The left-wing LFI’s presidential candidate, Jean-Luc M�lenchon, even participated in one of the Paris protests this week, while LFI councilors, deputies, and mayors have joined student blockades in multiple cities.

Jean-Luc M�lenchon wants to turn France into a communist nation.
And he is thrilled to have hordes and hordes of young Muslim radicals as his allies.
Many of those young Muslim radicals proudly carry Palestinian flags with them, and that flag has become the most visible symbol of the French riots…

“Palestinian flags were visible among demonstrators as violence spread through French cities. A municipal police station was also attacked, shops were vandalized, and riot police deployed tear gas. Storming government buildings and attacking police are acts of political violence, not peaceful protest. President Macron called for calm before the violence erupted. The question now is what his government will do to restore order,” Pamela Geller reported.

The civil unrest is far from over.
Of course it isn’t just France that has been thrown into a state of turmoil.
Yesterday, protests in Italy got quite violent…

Italian police fired tear gas at Italian protesters in the square in front of Milan’s Gothic cathedral, after rioters allegedly threw stones at officers, France 24 reported.
Protesters in Milan also gathered in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II – a luxury shopping centre. Shop owners put down their shutters and tourists appeared to flee the central area as the clashes turned violent, with the central Duomo metro station being temporarily closed.

And the riots in Albania just continue to escalate…

Thousands of young Albanians gathered outside the Education Ministry in the center of the capital Tirana on Saturday on the fifth day of a growing student-led movement *to force Prime Minister Edi Rama to resign.
The protest turned violent when a group of young people wearing masks hurled rocks at riot police, who responded with stun grenades, tear gas and a water cannon.

We are being told that people all over Europe are angry about the rising cost of living.
And that is true.
But it isn’t conservatives that are rioting.
It isn’t Christians that are rioting.
It is always the far left and the Muslims.
That same alliance is going to bring rioting, looting and civil unrest to the United States too.
We have seen various instances when this has occurred in recent years, but much worse is coming.
As Americans become increasingly frustrated with our seemingly endless cost of living crisis, “the Red/Green alliance” will use economic pain to stir up anger.
But rioting, looting and civil unrest is not going to fix anything.
The far left and the radical Muslims know this.
They do not intend to fix the current system.
Instead, they want “revolution” so that the current system can be completely wiped out.

Locals in a New Jersey suburb are outraged after an Islamic school approved to enroll 90 students revealed it now has 313 children and is seeking to add even more.
Residents of Fairfield gathered at a planning board meeting on Tuesday to express frustration with the Islamic Education Foundation (IEF)'s request to increase its student body.

The foundation was seeking to increase enrollment at Al-Ghazaly Jr/Sr High School from its approved 90 students to 400 and revealed it currently had 313 enrolled without any authorization to do so.
After revealing that the school was about 247 percent over capacity to the board, the foundation's Executive Director Hayat Jaludi explained that she defied the capacity limits because she did not want to disrupt students' education.

'If there are any educators in this room, you will understand and appreciate the importance of not disrupting or interrupting students' right to be educated,' Hayat said.
'We made the decision to try to run the school with that capacity of students and we've been successful so far.'
The foundation's attorney appeared stunned by the revelation and claimed he had no knowledge that the school was operating without the town's permission.
'I wouldn't say we blatantly decided that it doesn't matter,' Hayat said. 'We are law-abiding citizens. We understand. However, I do have a community of 313 students with an interruption to their education.'

But the director's excuse that she had families to answer to held little weight with one board member who scolded her.
'We have a community of 8,000 people who need to be answered for, and this is exactly one of the things that they put us here to do,' they said.
Hayat claimed the foundation was not aware of the 90-student capacity when they purchased the building. However, the board disputed her claim.

The director said it appeared that the classrooms could comfortably fit more students, so she 'pulled the trigger.'
'When I drive down the Garden State Parkway and there's no cars on the road, I know my car can do 120 miles an hour,' said a board member.
'It doesn't mean I can do it. You don't have the jurisdiction to make that decision unilaterally.'
The board was concerned with safety during any potential emergencies as well as the effect on traffic. After a board member ordered that they conduct their own traffic study to determine approval, applause erupted from locals in the town hall.

Town officials decided they would need to speak to their attorneys before deciding what action to take regarding the school operating over capacity, leaving the floor to outraged residents.
Annette, a Fairfield local, addressed the board, furious that the school had deceived the township.

'I can't believe that they are discarding the safety of these children with respect to our resources as a town,' she said.
'I find that very dishonest of that party. Not to mention that our police department, fire department, whoever's safety are going to be now overextended with those additional 300 students or 300 percent more of students.'
'That puts our children in jeopardy in terms of need of resources in case of a fire, in case of an active shooter, in case of an accident, for example. So, I feel confident that this board will take that all into consideration, but I wanted to reiterate that.
'And I also want to bring up that I think that it was intentional in terms of deceiving this board and that should also be taken into consideration and that we should look at this from a strong legal eye.'
Aninta, who lives near the school, claimed traffic has been unbearable for months since it opened.
'I cannot get out of my street to make a left anywhere until 8:30, 8:45, which is a huge concern for me, and I've noticed this since apparently the school has opened,' said the local.

'Where the school is, it's probably two acres, maybe three. I don't even know. It's 400 students,' said Mike.
'West Essex is just under 1,100 students, 60 acres. Morris Catholic, 600 students, 18 acres. So we're cramming 500 people into less than two acres. Doesn't seem right. Passaic Avenue, four-lane, near a highway, 400 students. God forbid somebody gets killed and then sues the town.'

The board adjourned the school's request until November, pending a traffic study.
Following the meeting, officials released a statement that safety inspectors surveyed the school and found the building was not a hazard to students or staff and would remain open.
'Although the prior approval upon which the CRO is based limits the population in the school to 90 students and 40 staff, the building is approximately 42,000 square feet in size and designed to safely accommodate the current occupancy,' wrote officials.
'Accordingly, nothing in the fire safety code permits the Township to close the school on an emergency basis.'
'Nevertheless, the Zoning Officer has issued violation notices and summonses for occupancy beyond approved limits and noncompliance with conditions imposed by the Board in the prior approval.'
The town also acknowledged the attention the livestreamed meeting had received online as well as the Islamophobic comments left on the upload.

'Unfortunately, comments regarding the video have included insensitive and anti-Islamic statements which are being viewed by a wide audience, including children who attend the IEF school,' said officials.
'Because of this and the fact that YouTube comments are not considered by the Planning Board in deliberating or deciding any application, the Township has disabled comments on the video.'
The Daily Mail has reached out to the IEF for comment.

Is France gonna make it?

France�s social and fiscal fabric appears to be fraying as its public and political classes stare down a nexus of issues that seem set to alter the trajectory of La R�publique.
Protests have enveloped the country since September, originally sparked by concerns over school staffing and funding but since fueled by a mix of broad economic woes and generational unrest.

�There is an increasing sense of malaise, that things are not working and that life does not progress the way people want it,� Antonio Fat�s, a professor of economics at the INSEAD business school in Fontainebleau, south of Paris, told Newsweek.
And the timing could not be more combustible politically speaking, with budgetary debates and an upcoming presidential election turning what might have been a typically French episode of youthful agitation into a consequential clash�between protesters and heavy-handed riot police, but also between competing visions for France�s future.
Amid this, outside observers have labeled the country varyingly as �on the brink,� in the �eye of the storm� and as the �economic sick man of the Western world,� as netizens have linked its current woes to a question asked by Lukas Matsson in season 4 of Succession:
�Will France make it?�

1) Social Crisis

Though only a �little bit more dramatic� than protests in the past, Fat�s said the current unrest was made unique by its combination of social, economic and political catalysts. The student movement began in the Paris suburbs, but has since spread nationwide as concerns over teacher shortages and overcrowded classrooms were folded into broader backlash against social inequality and the rising cost of living.

And there is certainly evidence that the existing social contract is not working for segments of French society.
Youth unemployment declined slightly to 20.6 percent in August, according to EUROSTAT, and remains well below the record 28.3 percent in late 2012. But this compares to just 7.4 percent in Germany, 9.1 percent in the United States and 14.4 percent in the U.K. in July.

And as further evidence of their social roots, participants from the 2018 Yellow Vest (or �Gilets Jaunes�) have joined in the protests and framed these school-related issues as complementary to their concerns over regional and class inequality and the policies of President Emmanuel Macron.
2) Fiscal Difficulties

While the clashes are frightening and the political ramifications significant, the �fiscal crisis� at the heart of this �is the most dangerous� according to Mujtaba Rahman, managing director for Europe at Eurasia Group, who in an op-ed for The New York Times wrote that France had been brought to �the brink� by years of budgetary mismanagement by Paris.

Is France Gonna Make It??

While comparable to other advanced economies, Rahman said France�s debt-to-GDP ratio remains a cause for concern, as do its �surging� borrowing costs and the amount spent on education relative to the rest of Europe. As he notes, the country spends roughly $100 billion each year on education�over a quarter of which goes toward paying retired teachers� pensions.

This perceived mismanagement prompted Paul Krugman, winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Economics, to describe France as on a �fiscally unsustainable path.�
�France is effectively handing over large subsidies to older French at the expense of everyone else,� he wrote in a blog earlier this month. �Mass national student demonstrations should come as no surprise.�
And few obvious solutions are emerging given preexisting budgetary debates.
The relatively austere spending plan unveiled by Prime Minister S�bastien Lecornu on October 1 targets �54 billion in savings ($60.5 billion), but must navigate a fractious parliament and public frustrations over spending.
�If you want to provide more resources to education, they need to come from that same budget,� Fat�s told Newsweek. �So what the solutions might be or might not be are going to be constrained by the fiscal environment of France, which is more complicated than a year ago, five years ago or 10 years ago.�

France�s fiscal and social concerns appear connected in both cause and consequence. The country has been �the hardest hit in the global bond sell-off,� according to a report from Allianz, and this has seemingly been exacerbated by the protests themselves.
And Zsolt Darvas, a senior fellow at Bruegel, told Newsweek that another �impasse� over its current budget �could further unsettle bond markets and put additional upward pressure on yields.�

3) Political Pressure

These cyclical economic and social stimulants have combined at a particularly volatile political moment. The 2024 election produced a hung parliament and split the legislature among competing blocs, making stable governance and financial reform an even taller task.
Macron�s departure in May will also leave the political center without an obvious heir, and the riots are therefore being viewed as something of an inauguration for France�s far right.
The EU-skeptic National Rally party�formerly the National Front�is ahead in the polls for the 2027 presidential election, scheduled for April. Its parliamentary leader and former president, Marine Le Pen, holds an 18-point lead over her next closest competitor.
Policy choices by the next president, Darvas says, �will largely determine whether France drifts into a serious fiscal crisis or succeeds in stabilizing its public finances through a credible medium-term fiscal program.�

But while compromise is required to address the country�s fiscal and social woes, Fat�s said the upcoming election makes this �an almost impossibility,� and the riots have offered those jockeying for the presidency another chance to promote their respective campaigns.
�People need to wake up now,� National Rally President Jordan Bardella said on Sunday, quoted in The New York Times. �They need to make the right political choices, and in any case, we stand ready to restore order in the country.�
The unrest which began over school conditions have since grown into a multicity movement involving students, unions and other discontented groups. And the protests are already unique in their cross-border impact, with similar socioeconomic frustrations now spilling onto the streets in Spain, Portugal and Italy.
The question is whether the latest crisis is another passing storm France is able to weather, or a deeper and trajectory-altering political crisis for the Republic.

For now, the prevailing political and economic winds are favoring the latter.

A leading French mayor has called for the government to open up terror investigations into the urban youth riots over the weekend, and to ban far-left militant groups like Antifa.

�ric Ciotti, the Mayor of Nice, France�s fifth largest city, said that the unrest seen throughout the country over the weekend, which included widespread attacks on police, mass looting, and arson attacks on government buildings, should be treated by prosecutors as terrorism, while warning that �Islamo-Leftism� is seeking �to overthrow� the Republic.

�The National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor�s Office needs to step in and track down these far-left groups�these coordinated, organized structures that seek to attack the institutions of the Republic. It�s clear that institutions were targeted�not just in other cities, but here in our own city as well. They attempted to attack the town hall, for instance, and they also targeted police stations,� the Nice Mayor told broadcaster BFMTV.

The leader of the Union of the Right for the Republic (UDR) party and ally of National Rally presidential candidate Marine Le Pen said that France is facing a �hybrid phenomenon� in which the far-left is coordinating and fuelling riots from a �mix of Islamists and drug traffickers, or �narco-Islamists�,� and lower level �armed robbers�.

�We are facing a red fascism, a French Intifada, a form of insurrection where Islamists, Antifa members, rioters, and looters�remotely controlled by the far left with terrorist aims�converge,� he said referencing the Palestinian terror campaigns against Israel, adding that there are �more Palestinian flags than French flags� at the demonstrations.

The UDR Mayor said that rioters who attacked police should all face jury trials, that the government should build emergency prison spaces to incarcerate all those involved in the riots, and for the social benefits and state housing to be withdrawn from the families of those involved.

The French expect the State to protect them, by all means necessary,� he said.

So far, President Emmanuel Macron has largely refused to clamp down on the near month-long protest movement which was ostensibly started over supposed failings of the education system but which quickly devolved into simple mayhem, providing an excuse for youths from multicultural communities to engage in wanton violence, destruction, and looting.

Macron also faced criticism for failing to acknowledge the role that immigration has played in the riots.

Presidential candidate �ric Zemmour said that it was clear that migrant groups were behind much of the unrest, saying: �We see their faces, we hear their voices, we recognize their language� We know who they are, we know where they come from.�

Zemmour surmised that they were motivated �by a hatred of our country and by a desire for revenge for colonialism� rather than the stated goals of the protests.

The Trump administration has quietly halved the inflow of legalized migrants in 2026, while also blocking nearly all illegal migration, says the New York Times.

In February, �the State Department issued just 26,000 immigrant visas, which grant a green card and legal permanent resident status � compared with an average of 52,000 a month in the years before Trump took office,� the newspaper noted.

The regulations implemented by President Donald Trump�s deputies sharply reduced the inflow without help from logjammed Congress, the report notes, adding:

[They] made it all but impossible to immigrate from 91 countries and reduced the number of immigrant visas available in another 61. Africa and the Middle East were hit particularly hard, and immigration from Muslim-majority countries plunged by more than 90 percent.

Vice President JD Vance has been outspoken about the need to cut illegal and legal migration.

He has repeatedly said mass migration lets investors cut salaries and grow profits while skimping on the high-tech productivity and training that promote middle-class prosperity.

Migration also corrodes the civic culture that helps ordinary people, and the overall economy, make the best use of resources, he said. On Sunday, for example, he told CBS:

The administration has not released migration data beyond the Spring of 2026.

In 2024, President Joe Biden�s staff granted permanent residence cards � �dubbed green cards� � to a record 1.35 million legalized migants. Those cards allow the migrant to apply for citizenship after five years. This welcome was supported by the pro-migration alliance of progressives and business groups.

The 2024 inflow was much higher than the normal award of roughly one million green cards, as set by the 1990 immigration law. The vast majority of legalized immigrants are chain-migration family members.

The annual inflow is roughly one million, or about one legalized immigrant for every four American births.

Business-funded advocates are appalled by Trump�s low-migration policies, which are curbing the Extraction Migration economic strategy that was adopted in the 1990s. The strategy inflates the nation�s economy by pulling millions of consumers, renters, and workers from developing countries into the U.S. economy.

That migration strategy helped to offset the main street damage caused by the export of the U.S. industrial sector to China and other cheap-labor countries. But it greatly reduced the economic gains and political power of many ordinary Americans.

Trump�s rollback of legalized migration � if continued � can shift much wealth and political power back to ordinary Americans.

President Trump has cut every type of legal immigration. He has reduced immigrant visas by 50%, mainly for spouses, minor children, and parents of US citizens and green card holders but also employment-based immigrants and others. Again, no new laws, just a lawless presidency.

Progresives and business groups are filing lawsuits to help revive legal migration into American communities.

Since January 2025, deportations by the Department of Homeland Security have reduced the foreign population by roughly 3 million illegals. That remaining illegal population is roughly 14 million amid a resident population of roughly 28 million legal immigrants and 290 million Americans.

The Trump cuts have had little impact on the visa programs which allow employers to keep more than 2 million foreign contract workers in jobs needed by young Americans. Most of the 2 million contractors are imported by the Fortune 500 for jobs that would otherwise be held by American graduates.

On 19 October 2026, Governors Greg Abbott (Texas) and Ron DeSantis (Florida) received an open letter from 33 leaders of patriotic organizations calling for investigations into mosques associated with the Muslim Brotherhood and other sharia supremacism networks and for the imposition of temporary moratoriums on the approval and construction of new mosques in their respective states.

The letter from the BanSharia.com Coalition thanks the Governors for designating the Muslim Brotherhood and its US arm, CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), as terrorist organizations.

Abbott made the declaration in November 2025, describing both as a foreign terrorist organization and a transnational criminal organization, and restricting property acquisition in the process. DeSantis made his move in December 2025 with an executive order directing state agencies to deny benefits or resources to anyone who provides material support. CAIR has, of course, brought federal lawsuits in response to both designations, seeking temporary injunctions.

The signatories maintain that the designations must be enforced and that the groups� activities must cease in Texas and Florida. They point to a �critical infrastructure of jihad� comprising the facilities which the Brotherhood refers to as Islamic societies or Islamic centers (in practice these are mosques).

The U.S. total is estimated to be at least 3,150. CAIR co-founder and Executive Director Nihad Awad has put the number at 4,000. The letter goes on to state that new facilities are still being approved and built every month, particularly in Texas and Florida, which are the focus of a campaign of � stealthy civilization jihad �.

That phrase is in the Muslim Brotherhood�s 1991 �Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Objective of the Group in North America� by Mohamed Akram (a leading Brotherhood figure at the time and still is). The document was admitted as evidence in the Holy Land Foundation trial on terrorism financing. It states: �The process of settlement is a �Civilization Jihadist process� with all the means.

The Muslim Brotherhood must realize that their work in America is a kind of great Jihad in the annihilation and destruction of Western civilization from within and in the �sabotage� of its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is wiped out. The religion of Allah is established over all other religions.�

The memo on the role of the mosques is entitled �Understanding the role and the nature of work of �the Islamic Center� in every city with what achieves the goal of the process of settlement�. It states: �To the extent that we own and control these centers at the continental level, we can say that we are progressing successfully in the settlement of Dawa in this country. That is to say that the role of the �Center� is the same as that of the �Mosque� in the time of the Prophet (S) when he was marching to �settle� Dawa in its first generation in Medina.� This is interpreted as equating the role of the mosques that are under the control of the organization with those of the mosques in the days of the Prophet, i.e., they are to be used for the storage of arms and for the training and planning of jihad.

A steadily increasing number of public statements by imams, leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood�s front groups and sharia supremacists in politics all point to seditious intent. The letter asks whether public safety and national security may in fact be compromised by some, or indeed all, of the mosques in America and that this possibility must be investigated with the utmost urgency.

While Texas and Florida conduct their own investigations, the signatories say they could impose moratoriums on approving and constructing any further mosques. They argue that federal constitutional and statutory schemes can implement such moratoria despite the very strong state interests at stake.

The letter calls on the governors to carry out threat assessments of the Islamic community, Islamic centers and other mosques and to, in the course of those assessments, prevent any further expansion of that infrastructure.

Of the 33 signatories: Rep. Keith Self (R-TX); Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William �Jerry� Boykin, Executive VP of the Family Research Council; Ayaan Hirsi Ali, founder of the AHA Foundation; Frank Gaffney, President of the Institute for the American Future; Anne Schlafly, Chair of the Eagle Forum; Kimberly Fletcher, founder and president of Moms for America; me as founder and Director of Hearts of Oak. Others include leaders from the Texas Eagle Forum, Grassroots America (We the People PAC), the American Family Association, and several organizations focused on national security and constitutional issues.

The letter goes on to state that the Governors previously designated the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as having both the authority and the duty to assess the facilities in question and to prevent any further expansion of those facilities during the assessments. No fixed timescale is suggested beyond the timescale required for the assessments.

Germany's migration and asylum policies have cost the state at least �400 billion, according to calculations by Welt journalist Bj�rn Harms. Other estimates have gone far higher, including into the trillions, when broader follow-on effects of migration are included. These massive figure will only add to the growing debate about mass immigration into high social-welfare countries like Germany.

As for the data, much of it comes directly from the German government, according to Welt. The federal government alone recorded over �242 billion in "refugee-related expenditures" from 2016 to 2025. Official figures from Bundestag reports and the Federal Ministry of Finance confirm the annual totals.
If this is broken down by year, it shows �20.1 billion in 2016, rising to peaks of �28.3 billion in 2022 and �29.6 billion in 2023, then �28 billion in 2024 and �24.8 billion in 2025.
The sum over ten years is �242.5 billion, representing roughly 5.8 percent of total federal budget outlays over the period. These cover social transfers after asylum procedures, integration measures, payments to states and municipalities, and related programs.
The 16 state governments also contributed more than �100 billion from their own budgets. Municipalities added further billions, along with follow-on costs in healthcare, education, and the justice system. Independent reconstructions place a consolidated central estimate near �340 billion, while others go up to �450 billion with add-ons.
However, even these numbers pale in comparison to what some academics have researched. For example, top German academic on public finances Prof. Bernd Raffelh�schen of the University of Freiburg, produced a study in 2024 that indicated that mass immigration may cost Germany up to �19.2 trillion. His study also found that mass immigration had already cost the country �5.8 trillion.
Harms and others describe the �400 billion figure as a minimum. The reason why this figure is treated as a "minimum" is because experts have been unable to truly compile costs for a broad range of areas, which surely total tens of billions over the course of a decade. These areas include court costs and criminal justice.
Germany spends between �9 billion and �20 billion a year on criminal justice. As Remix News has reported before, an astronomically disproportionate share of these criminals are foreigners, meaning that foreigners are costing Germany billions every year just on criminal justice.
Just one example involves the case of Saudi national Taleb A, who plowed his vehicle into a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, killing six people and injuring over 300. The custom-built court constructed specifically to host the trial of Taleb A. cost �4.5 million.
This specialized, high-security facility was constructed by the court in Magdeburg to handle the large-scale proceedings, which included accommodations and seating space for more than 170 co-plaintiffs and their respective legal teams.
That is just one migrant.
Many other costs are not tallied in the official figures

The billions in criminal justice costs do not even cover police and internal security. Crime has risen in Germany substantially since 2016. During that year, according to Eurostat records, Germany had approximately 244,318 total police officers. At the time, that equated to roughly 2,992 officers per one million people, or a density of around 301 per 100,000 inhabitants.
The Federal Police force has grown to around 55,000 to 60,000 total employees (including roughly 41,000 active frontline officers) to manage expanded mandates across national borders, transportation hubs, and airports.
Paying all these new police officers, who are tasked with policing an increasingly violent country, is not only an enormous cost in terms of money, but has led to tens of thousands of lives shattered and destroyed. When a young woman is raped by a migrant or an aspiring doctor is beaten to the point that he has to abandon his medical career, it is difficult to even calculate the true financial cost of such incidents, but in many ways, these incidents have no price tag. They are too horrific to even quantify.
Of course, there are also tens of billions spent on education for migrants, which are not included in the �400 billion total. In addition, Germany has an extensive network of kindergartens, which foreigners also gain access to. In some states like Berlin, the daycare system is entirely supported by taxpayers to the tune of �2.5 billion a year, while the share of kindergarten-age children with a migration background is at 57.4 percent.
There are also deportation costs, administrative overhead, hospital and medical care, and the list goes on.
The real figure may be difficult to calculate with total accuracy, but it is surely larger than �400 billion.
Germans have also paid in other ways, including in higher rental costs, more traffic, crowded schools, and longer wait times at hospitals. Again, not all of these costs are even quantifiable, but the increase the increase in rental costs alone has cost Germans additional billions.
It is also important to note that there are hundreds of thousands of migrants who are becoming naturalized at a rapid pace and already millions of migrants who have been naturalized in previous decades. These migrants and their children use schools, often require welfare, and also need healthcare. Yet, none of these costs are counted towards the tax burden on Germans. In total, there have been further tens of billions spent on these groups, increasingly in the education system which has the highest share of Germans with a migration background. Many of these groups also continue to be a net economic burden on Germany, such as the Turkish population.
Migrant housing is a huge burden for German taxpayers

Accommodation absorbs a large share. The federal government does not even know the total number of asylum accommodations nationwide. An inquiry by Harms to all 401 districts and independent cities produced responses from 320 (about 80 percent). These authorities reported at least 4,437 communal accommodations housing nearly 295,000 residents as of March 2026 - an average of almost 14 per responding district. Extrapolated nationwide, this implies roughly one person in every 227 in Germany lives in taxpayer-financed asylum accommodation.
Harms notes that hotel owners, private landlords, and public companies have all massively benefited. In Hamburg, the municipal company F�rdern & Wohnen, which is 100 percent owned by the city, handles a large share of asylum accommodation. He notes that turnover rose from �60 million in 2013 to �747 million in 2025, and staff grew from 948 employees in 2014 to around 2,228 by 2025.
The company operates more than 200 sites and has expanded capacity amid non-European immigration. A former managing director who served less than five months in 2025 received payments totaling �453,000, including a substantial severance, according to the company's annual report.
Similar patterns appear elsewhere: long-term leases on converted offices and hotels, with public entities acting as both demand drivers and suppliers. In Berlin, a former office complex on Hasenheide in Kreuzberg is becoming an accommodation for up to 921 people. First residents were scheduled to move in from early October 2026. The lease runs roughly ten years, into the mid-2030s, paid from public funds. Conversion costs have not been disclosed, citing commercial confidentiality.
The Hasenheide project and the decade of accumulated costs illustrate the continuity. Rents and operating expenses continue into the 2030s, financed by the same solidarity community that underwrites the wider system.
Migrant welfare is core to the new German economy

The Welt article also notes that immigration since 2015 has driven expansion in the social and welfare sector. The number of social workers and social pedagogues rose from about 278,000 in 2015 to 351,000, with the Federal Employment Agency linking part of the growth to refugee-related demand for counseling, care, and support.
Integration courses illustrate the mixed results of large spending. The federal government has allocated around �1.3 billion in peak years, with 2024 near �1.2 billion before later adjustments. Yet outcomes are limited, according to Welt. Roughly 55 percent of those who take the final test reach the target B1 language level, meaning a substantial share - often cited in the range of six in ten depending on the metric of "graduation" or successful completion of the full course and exam - leave without the intended language qualification. Pass rates for B1 have hovered in the mid-50s in recent data, with many achieving only A2 or lower.
Harms further notes that the business of asylum migration has created durable economic interests. In other words, there are people and institutions getting rich for the millions of migrant who have come, which fuels demands for even more immigration.
Public companies, private landlords, course providers, NGOs, and expanded social services all draw ongoing revenue. Critics note that the loudest advocates of open borders and expansive humanitarianism rarely live next to the accommodations or send their children to the schools under the greatest pressure. Residents in affected neighborhoods and local workers experience the practical strains directly.
While governments speak of a "migration turnaround," the broader pro-migration complex continues. Demands for a world without borders, which claim "no human is illegal," persist among advocacy groups. These powerful groups have a keen interest in keeping the mass migration machine going, and so far, they have largely succeeded even if the majority of Germans are opposed.

France is seeing its worst riots in decades � violence clearly aimed not simply at the ruling party, but at France itself � and the left-liberal establishment is still trying to blame a few bad apples.
That�s true not just of President Emmanuel Macron, but of global media that claim it�s mainly about student grievances over budget cuts � at least one BBC article actually used the phrase �mostly peaceful protests.�

This is nonsense: The street mobs haven�t been just (or even mostly) kids for weeks now, and the vandalism began in the first days; it was last month that �protesters� set a teacher on fire.

CEUTA/MADRID, Oct 19 (Reuters) - When heavily pregnant Fatna and her disabled son arrived in Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta during a chaotic mass border crossing on July 30, she hoped to be high on authorities' list for help.
Nearly three months later, with her newborn baby girl suffering from kidney problems, Fatna, 21, and her family urgently need to reach mainland Spain for specialist hospital treatment.

However, travelling while her asylum claim is under review requires a permit that Spain's socialist government – ordinarily a staunch advocate of immigration – has been reluctant to grant to any of the thousands of migrants remaining in Ceuta.
Some are still scattered on the streets or hiding in the rolling hills of the tiny 20-sq-km port city on Morocco's northeast border.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's government is under pressure from the EU and an increasingly frustrated populace to sort out the crisis and faces a snap election on November 29.
It is working on shortcuts for asylum applications with the intention of sending most people home, mainly to Morocco, on the basis of being economic migrants not real asylum-seekers.
That, NGOs fear, risks violating migrants' rights.
Sanchez, one of Europe's few remaining left-leaning leaders, said this week that Spain was managing the flood of cases "responsibly, with a sense of solidarity and respecting migrants' human rights".

But more than 20 interviews by Reuters with migrants, lawyers, NGOs, and security forces revealed that many of those who remain have clear grounds for asylum or humanitarian protection: from unaccompanied minors to LGBT Moroccans fearing imprisonment if deported and families like Fatna's classified as vulnerable under EU law.
Last week, eight charities including Oxfam and Amnesty International filed a complaint with Spain's ombudsman seen by Reuters alleging "grave rights violations" in the tiny Ceuta enclave. They included the forced return of migrants from conflict-hit countries and denial of interpreters and legal assistance.
Spokespeople for Spain's central government, interior ministry, territorial policy ministry and migration ministry did not respond to Reuters requests for comment on the mistreatment accusations.
"There are people who will truly be in enormous danger if they are returned to Morocco," said Wendell Soares, coordinator of the Catholic migrant reception centre San Antonio which has taken in Fatna's family and dozens more vulnerable people, far beyond its usual capacity of seven.

"When the word ‘immigrant’ is used, it creates a collective image, as if they were all the same. Every person has their own story."
DEPORTED WITHOUT EXPLANATION
Spanish right-wing and far-right parties were already angry with Sanchez's government for providing legal status to nearly 1 million irregular migrants earlier this year. They have cast July's crossing as a deliberate invasion by Morocco – an accusation Morocco denies – and demanded that all migrants be returned.
But despite plans for a new EU-wide procedure enabling accelerated deportations in future emergency scenarios, current rules require that migrants be assessed case-by-case.
While most are from Morocco, the government estimated in August that more than 1,000 of the migrants remaining were from sub-Saharan countries whose nationals are granted asylum in over 90% of cases in Spain, according to government statistics.

The EU's new pact requires that cases be processed in border zones to permit faster deportations. But it does not require applicants to stay where they arrived, allowing for transfers to other border zones in Spain that would alleviate pressure on the 84,000-person enclave of Ceuta, Europe's only land border with Africa.
If vulnerable migrants' cases are to be properly assessed, such transfers are the "only option", said Juan Miguel Morales, director-general of NGO Sur Acoge.
While 262 minors have been transferred to the Spanish mainland since the July crossing, the government's strategy for the remaining adults has been to convince as many as possible to return of their own volition.
The government said this week that 12,000 had chosen to cross back since mid-August.
"There are no covert deportations under any circumstances," Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska said, describing the returns as voluntary and adding that up to 1,200 asylum applications had been received and 700 of them resolved.

However, at least nine NGOs have in public communication or interviews with Reuters claimed that migrants they support were coerced to return.
Asociaci�n Elin said migrants from Sudan and Chad were summoned by police on September 24 and 25 and deported without warning, according to the complaint to the ombudsman.
In text messages reviewed by Reuters, Moroccan migrant Azhaar Chaouni told volunteers at German NGO Mission Lifeline that he and other migrants faced the same fate, after being picked up in buses by police from their makeshift camps on the beach and told they were being taken to reception centres.
"They deported us without explanation," Chaouni wrote, saying he was in Morocco.
Morocco's designation as a "safe country of origin" under EU rules does not strip its citizens of the right to apply for asylum, said Andrea de Petris, immigration expert at Brussels-based think tank CEPN.

"Each individual must be guaranteed a specific assessment of their personal circumstances," added De Petris who estimates the procedure would inevitably be "lengthy and costly".
Stories of others disappearing have instilled fear in Rayane, a 19-year-old gay Moroccan awaiting news on his asylum application in the San Antonio reception centre. Rejected by his family and unable to live openly in Morocco where same-sex sexual acts are prosecuted, he is desperate to get to mainland Europe.
"I can’t even imagine myself going back to Morocco. I’d kill myself before even crossing the border," he said.
PACT EXPOSED
Frontline workers and NGOs on the ground say the situation in Ceuta has proven that the 12-week limit set in the EU’s migrant pact for processing asylum applications is unrealistic, with seven stating they expect the process to drag on for months.

A lack of resources from staff to functioning computers meant that only around 100 migrants' cases were being registered daily by October 14, according to police union representative Raul Piera.
The union estimates roughly 7,000-8,000 more migrants are still scattered across the city, sleeping rough or squeezed into facilities provided by charities and civil society groups filling the gap left by Ceuta's overwhelmed social services.
"Looking at the remaining workload, this will last well into next summer," said Piera.
Spain's government has declined to comment on estimates of unregistered migrants, with Territorial Policy Minister Angel Victor Torres telling reporters on October 14 that it was impossible to know how many were hiding.
Doctors in Ceuta's only hospital are treating migrants for scabies, tuberculosis and gastrointestinal infections caused by long periods outdoors, said Enrique Robiralta, head of the doctors' union. At least seven women have given birth.

Fatna and her husband Mohamed are desperate to stay in Spain, fearing for the new baby and convinced their 3-year-old disabled son will die in Morocco. "We are doing everything for our son," said Mohamed.

A parliamentary inquiry by Alternative for Germany (AfD) lawmakers in the German state of Baden-W�rttemberg has brought to light official data showing that authorities have recorded 358 so-called child marriages since April 2012, with courts formally annulling only eight of them between 2018 and 2024.

The figures, released in early October 2026 in response to questions from state parliament members Nikolaos Boutakoglou and Emely Knorr, have drawn sharp attention to the prevalence of underage marriages - overwhelmingly involving people from migrant backgrounds - and the limited number of legal interventions.

Among the annulled cases was the 2020 marriage of an 11-year-old Iraqi girl to a 17-year-old Iraqi boy
In 2018, authorities annulled the marriage of a 14-year-old Afghan girl to a 30-year-old Afghan man. Two further annulments occurred in 2024: one involving a 16-year-old German girl and a 25-year-old Pakistani man, and another between a 16-year-old Syrian girl and a 27-year-old Syrian man, according to Welt newspaper.

The other annulled marriages involved individuals from Afghanistan, Romania, Moldova, Croatia, Serbia, and elsewhere. The state Interior Ministry stated that no court proceedings for annulment were pending at the time of its reply.

The remaining approximately 350 cases, documented by the government of T�bingen were closed under the category of "other resolutions." Possible reasons cited by the government include the death of a partner, a decision to forgo annulment, or a subsequent marriage abroad.

These files still include striking examples of very young brides
In 2020, a 12-year-old Afghan girl was recorded as married to an 18-year-old man. In 2022, a 12-year-old Syrian girl was married to a 28-year-old Syrian man, and in 2023 a 12-year-old Afghan girl to a 21-year-old Afghan man. Multiple cases involving 13- and 14-year-old girls also appear in the data, and some reports note nine marriages in which the girl was under the age of 14 at the time of the union.

The demographic pattern is pronounced. Men from Syria accounted for 132 of the recorded cases, nearly 40 percent, followed by nationals of Bulgaria, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

It is also unclear if these German citizens have a migration background, but given the pattern seen among foreigners, it is very probable.

Most of the 358 cases date from 2015 onward when the migration crisis truly began to grow in Germany. Boutakoglou highlighted the figures on social media, stating, "Almost without exception, every child marriage in Baden-W�rttemberg since 2017 can be traced back to mass migration! Nearly 40% of the child marriages were contracted between Syrians, while child marriages between two Germans account for only 0.3%."

Germany raised the minimum marriage age to 18 in 2017 and generally does not recognize foreign marriages involving minors under certain conditions. The T�bingen authority deals exclusively with marriages contracted abroad that come to the attention of German registry offices.

The AfD inquiry was prompted in part by a Terre des Femmes leaflet warning of the risk of forced marriage during school holidays, but the state government said it had no financial involvement in the leaflet.

As Remix News has reported in the past, the issue is not just child marriages. Mass migration has brought new backward cultural norms to Europe that are completely incompatible with European human rights. For example, already in 2020, the German government admitted that there were at least 68,000 female genital mutilation victims in the country, rising 44 percent since 2017.

According to then German Minister for Family Affairs Franziska Giffey, mainly migration is to blame for the massive increase as many migrants coming to Germany commonly practice FGM in their own home countries. The practice, which is a human rights violation, involves the ritual cutting off some or all of the external female genitalia.

Germany is far from the only country dealing with this trend

Starting on September 18 in Cr�teil, a working-class suburb of Paris, lyc�e students � France's high schoolers � blockaded schools and took to the streets to demand action on crumbling buildings, chronic teacher shortages and overcrowded classrooms. Universities joined the movement within days, and by early October, some 400 to 500 secondary schools had suspended classes.

Violent fringe groups began targeting public buildings, looting luxury boutiques and supermarkets, and attacking police vehicles and officers � behavior that Interior Minister Laurent Nu�ez attributed directly to organized radical far-left groups. On the weekend of October 17, in Limoges, flames engulfed the city's 19th-century city hall, collapsing its roof; across the country, more than 500 police officers, gendarmes and firefighters were injured on that day alone, according to Minister Nu�ez. One demonstrator died from cardiorespiratory arrest during the Paris protests, France 24 reported.

Who Is Actually Behind the Violence

Intelligence agencies briefed a government crisis meeting on October 1 that the wave of protests had been initiated by hard-left politicians, with the readout stating: "Shared assessment by the intelligence services on the origin of the movement: an operation organised by LFI (France Unbowed) and its proxies on the far left."

The paper trail runs deeper. A French intelligence report dated September 29 and published by Le Figaro goes further, analyzing how the secondary school protests had been radicalized in Seine-Saint-Denis, the impoverished northern belt of Paris, and then spread across France. The document speaks openly of the "manipulation" of demonstrations by student unions and political movements aligned with the radical left, and accuses the far-left bloc of relying on violence as an electoral strategy ahead of the 2027 presidential elections. Authorities have been careful to note they have not linked immigrants as a group to the rioting � a notable clarification given the political climate surrounding immigration ahead of the election.

The LFI Playbook: Co-opt the Youth, Chase the Ballot

At the center of the far-left's alleged infiltration strategy is Ryad Rani, the president of the student union USL. Despite maintaining that his organization acts independently, Rani called on pupils to join the national mobilization in early October. His ties to LFI have been documented, including his participation in M�lenchon's party summer university alongside LFI lawmaker Louis Boyard � one of the most visible figures publicly backing the school blockades. Boyard told BFM TV after the crisis meeting readout was shared with reporters: "LFI has always advocated non-violent demonstrations."

M�lenchon, 75 and running in his fourth presidential campaign, made no effort to conceal his position. He publicly cheered the student protests at a campaign rally, called for lowering the voting age to 16 � a direct play to a protest generation most of whom cannot yet vote � and framed selective university admissions as a tool of economic oppression. "Victory is possible," he has declared, openly courting a movement that has put him on favorable poll numbers.
Marine Le Pen said flatly in early October: "This is no longer about high school student protests. It is about riots organized by professionals and overseen by deputies from La France Insoumise."
An Islamist Dimension That Complicates the Picture

What makes the crisis harder to contain is a secondary layer analysts call a convergence of grievances. Pro-Palestinian organizations such as Urgence Palestine declared October a "month of revolt" and actively amplified the demonstrations. Palestinian flags have appeared at rallies alongside calls for a "Sixth Republic" � shorthand for abolishing France's current constitution � while anarchist symbols now mark much of the vandalism.

Nile Gardiner, director of the Heritage Foundation's Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom, framed it in stark terms: "I think at the very heart of this is the far-left and the Islamists combining forces to undermine France itself." That framing is contested � the government itself has been careful not to blame Islam or immigration communities broadly � but the convergence visible on the streets has been documented by multiple observers.
The 2027 Election Shadow

France arrives at this crisis under severe fiscal pressure. The country's 10-year bond yields hit their highest level since 2002, approaching 5%, as record public debt and political fragmentation unsettle investors. With Macron term-limited, the country faces a wide-open presidential race. An Odoxa poll conducted between September 24 and October 7 shows Le Pen leading the first round with 37 to 38 percent, with M�lenchon in second at around 18 percent. The riots have sharpened that political divide into something close to a civilizational argument.

Prime Minister Lecornu warned directly that those seeking to exploit the violence as a political warm-up before the presidential election would "not be allowed to intimidate the Republic." On the evening of October 18, President Macron held an emergency meeting with senior government officials and was scheduled to address the nation at 8 p.m., according to France 24.
The students who launched the movement � the vast majority of them under 18, many from underserved neighborhoods � are watching their legitimate grievances consumed by a political war they did not start. The government has ordered emergency hiring of substitute teachers and rescheduled school hours as a stopgap, but no one in Paris is pretending a classroom fix will resolve what has become a national crisis. With another nationwide march reportedly planned, France is bracing � and the question that hangs over every burned monument and shattered storefront is whether the country's institutions can hold long enough to reach an election.

So who is responsible? The politicians who lied to us. A class of leaders formed in the same schools, the same forums, the same networks, loyal to each other before they are loyal to their nations.

In 2017, at Harvard, Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum, bragged about his Young Global Leaders program in four words: "We penetrate the cabinets." He added that it was true in France. Emmanuel Macron was one of his Young Global Leaders.

It's the same project in Brussels with Ursula von der Leyen and in Paris with Macron. Borders treated as an obstacle. Nations treated as relics. The people treated as a problem to be managed.

What you are watching in France is not the French people failing. It is the end of the globalist project, an abject, quasi-communist dream of a world run by unelected planners. It is collapsing everywhere in Europe at once, and the West has to cut this cancer out before it takes the rest of the body with it.

The peoples of Europe don't want this. They never did.

So when you see our town halls burning, don't say "the French chose this."

The French never chose this.

Chris Murphy (D-CT) confirmed that one of the letters arrived at his local office in Hartford. Packages containing a powdery substance were also opened at election offices in Louisiana and Oklahoma, prompting evacuations, officials said. Similar parcels bound for Ohio, Maryland, Mississippi and South Dakota were intercepted by the PIS before reaching their recipients, officials in those states confirmed.
The FBI told the Epoch Times that the mailings were sent to various addresses nationwide, including secretary of state offices and related election offices, but the agency was not confirming the number of mailings intercepted ^[1]. Authorities declined to say how many offices had been targeted, but several secretaries of state and congressional offices reported receiving the letters ^[2]. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been announced.
Investigation Details and Official Statements

An FBI spokesperson said some of the letters contained an unknown substance and that authorities are working with law enforcement partners to respond to each incident and identify those responsible. Deputy Chief Postal Inspector Brendan Donahue confirmed the probe at a press conference Thursday, stating, "Any threat or attack on an election official is unacceptable." The FBI said in a statement that it will continue to safeguard the public and secure elections for American citizens.
A Senate email notice included a photo of one of the suspicious envelopes that was postmarked "DSA" and gave a return address at the same Financial address, according to the notice shared with the New York Post ^[3]. DSA-Linked Return Address and Organization Response

The envelope included a return address for the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) headquarters in New York City, according to Fox News ^[6]. A representative for DSA said in a statement, "DSA has not occupied this office address since 2013. We are also no longer headquartered at 75 Maiden Lane."
It was not immediately clear when DSA moved its operations out of the building, according to the report. The return address appeared to be outdated, and there was no indication that the organization was responsible for the mailings. The investigation into the source of the letters continues, with federal authorities working to identify the individual or individuals responsible.
Past Incidents of Contaminated Mail to Congress

Congressional offices have been targeted with contaminated letters in the past, most notably the 2001 anthrax attacks that sent deadly bacteria to Senate offices. One of those letters arrived at then-Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle's (D-SD) office in October 2001, forcing staff to seek treatment and leading to building decontamination, according to historical accounts.
The 2001 mailing spree killed five people and sickened at least 17, officials said. Letters containing ricin, a poison, have also been mailed to Senate offices in the past, but no deaths resulted.
Election offices have also faced threats in recent years. An election office in Fulton County, Georgia received one of those letters, though authorities found no immediate indication that other election offices were affected ^[7].
Ongoing Investigation and Interceptions

The FBI and PIS are working to intercept any additional letters before delivery, but officials acknowledged that some may still reach their destinations. It was not immediately clear which other lawmakers or states were targeted, and some letters were intercepted at other addresses, officials said.
The FBI said it is working closely with law enforcement partners to respond to each incident and to identify the individual or individuals responsible for the letters. A hired hitman for a powerful Mexican cartel is claiming he helped carry out the executions of more than 500 people at a remote ranch � including 250 bodies he says he personally incinerated.
He has now spent the last 18 months providing tips to a group of volunteers searching for their loved ones.

The masked assassin said that the Jalisco New Generation Cartel made hundreds of victims disappear at and around Rancho Izaguirre, a remote property located in Teuchitl�n, a municipality in the western state of Jalisco.
�More than 500 people were executed there,� the cartel�s executioner said in an interview aired by Italian public television broadcaster RAI on Oct. 10.

The killer, whose identity was concealed, said he earns about $220 a week to carry out executions for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
�In the cartel, a hitman always earns the same wage,� he said, �I might kill five people in a single day, but my pay remains the same. A life doesn�t cost much.�

The Italian outlet revealed that the killer had been in contact with the Jalisco Search Warriors, a collective of volunteers, and alerted it to the alleged extermination site.
�They�ll never find them,� he said. �If they keep searching, they might find more bodies in the area surrounding the ranch.�
According to the Mexican government, the ranch had been used since 2021 by the cartel, which is designated as a terrorist organization by the US government.

The site was initially discovered by the National Guard in September 2024 during a raid that led to the arrest of 10 cartel members. Two kidnapping victims were rescued and a dead body was also found, but the Jalisco prosecutor�s office downplayed the discovery as just a training site for the cartel.

Jalisco Search Warriors leader Indira Navarro told The Post on Thursday that she first learned of Rancho Izaguirre in February 2025 after receiving anonymous phone calls from kidnapping victims, who were lured with job offers but managed to flee, as well as information from the cartel hitman.
A visit on March 5, 2025 proved to be embarrassing for the Mexican government after Navarro and volunteers uncovered hundreds of clothing items and human bone fragments. The bone parts were transferred to the Jalisco state prosecutor�s office, but have yet to be linked to any missing persons.

Mexico�s federal Attorney General�s Office (FGR) took over the case and convicted the 10 cartel members and sentenced them each to 141 years in prison in July 2025.
This week the federal prosecutor�s office rejected the cartel assassin�s Italian television tell-all.
�Regarding a video in which an alleged member of a criminal group claims to have carried out a mass incineration of people at the property known as Rancho Izaguirre, located in the state of Jalisco, the FGR states that this claim is false,� it said Wednesday, adding that forensics work had been done on 92% of the site.

However, Navarro disputed the federal prosecutor�s assessment, saying the hitman�s tips had led volunteers to locations where human remains appeared to have been burned.
�He was one of the witnesses who provided us with information,� said Navarro, who claims that thousands of human remains have been located. �Why do I remember him? Because he contacted us again later in [June 2026], and his voice was very distinctive � unmistakable.�
He also told the group to go to another location in April 2025, in a neighboring municipality called Ahualulco de Mercado, where Navarro said many bodies had been burned and more than 1,000 body fragments were found.
�At that time, we found a vast number of charred human remains there,� she said.
Navarro said that she has not been in contact with the state and federal attorney general offices since the cartel hitman�s interview.

The president's comparison of journalists to leakers came as his administration has escalated its legal campaign against news organizations. "This action follows his unauthorized disclosure of classified information regarding Air Force One's capabilities to a media outlet," War Department spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement. Trump has launched at least six active lawsuits against news organizations [8], and has said that the way to pursue "treasonous" leaks was to seek information from journalists [9].
Context of the Rally Remarks

Trump defended his military campaign against Iran during the rally, the report stated. Trump also said the country had entered what he called a "golden age," the report stated.
The remarks come amid a broader pattern of leak investigations. The White House leak hunt has reportedly escalated, with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Kash Patel personally overseeing an operation to identify who leaked sensitive information about the security of the Qatari-supplied aircraft being used as Air Force One. Officials were reportedly asked to surrender their phones to investigators on White House grounds [10]. In August 2026, Trump declared war on missile shortage leakers, promising long prison time.

A Nigerian man forced to cook thousands of meals for the Unknown Gunmen, a militant group linked to political violence in Nigeria, is at the center of a Supreme Court showdown that could determine how broadly immigration authorities can apply a terrorism-related bar to asylum and how far the Trump administration can go in deporting immigrants accused of supporting terrorism.
The Supreme Court agreed Tuesday to hear the Trump administration�s challenge to a ruling that overturned Nigerian citizen Izuchukwu Ozurumba�s deportation order, setting up a legal battle over whether ordinary services provided to terrorist organizations, including cooking meals, can disqualify immigrants from receiving asylum even when those services are not directly connected to terrorist attacks.
Ozurumba was deported to Nigeria in April 2025 while his appeal was pending.
At the center of the case is a provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act that bars certain immigrants who provide �material support� to terrorist organizations from receiving asylum. The law lists examples of prohibited assistance, including transportation, communications, housing, money, weapons and training, but it does not explicitly define what constitutes material support.
�The biggest takeaway is that this is a case about who gets to draw the line on a law that affects national security,� Bryce Poole, a senior legal fellow with Advancing American Freedom, told Fox News Digital. �Congress wrote a broad rule, and the court interpreted it narrowly.�

He worked with the terrorists and claims it was involuntary. Still doesn�t mean the US has to give him asylum. Do we need to give every 3rd worlder who refuses to assimilate a life in the US, plus money, housing, healthcare, clothes, etc, for their story of woe? We have enough of them. He came here illegally in 2023, a judge quickly determined he did not qualify for asylum, and then, somehow, he was able to afford all these lawyers to help him stay in the US. He supposedly was not paid for months while cooking for the terrorists, then escaped, then was able to afford to go from Nigeria to Venezuela then trek to the US. That is not cheap.
How many times do we find that people let in on asylum end up being something else?

French Member of the European Parliament Marion Mar�chal denounced the �taboo� around discussions of the underlying causes of the youth revolt spreading across the country, which she said is the failure to assimilate immigrant groups into French culture.

The demonstrations and riots ostensibly over a lack of school funding will hit their one-month anniversary this week, with mayhem and violence continuing despite thousands of arrests.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister S�bastien Lecornu told the Senate that 937 police officers and gendarmes, 149 school staff, and 248 students had been injured so far in the violent demonstrations.

Meanwhile, Minister of National Education �douard Geffray revealed that 7,950 people have been arrested, including 6,773 minors, during the protests.

Appearing on La Cha�ne Info, French MEP Marion Mar�chal said that the establishment media and political class in Paris have failed to address the root causes of the unrest, which are not the issues facing the education system, but rather failures within the immigration system and the ability to integrate foreign populations, including those born in France, into the culture, such as in hotspots like the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis, which has seen decades of mass migration from North Africa�s Maghreb region.

�The link between these acts of violence is, for me, yet another symptom of the mass, unassimilated immigration that expresses itself through high school student mobilisation, just as it would express itself through a PSG match won or lost, through Bastille Day, through a demonstration for Gaza,� she said.

The president of the Identit�-Libert�s group in the European Parliament added that there is a section of �youth from immigrant backgrounds that seizes the slightest pretext to unleash its hatred of France, its institutions, and the uniform.�

The French Ministry of the Interior has found that street violence has reached record levels fuelled in part by the violent student uprisings.

Mar�chal, a scion of the Le Pen political dynasty, also surmised that violence is not a bug but a feature of the demonstrations, arguing that it is a �tool claimed by the far-left� as they seek a �convergence of struggles� to advance their Marxist, revolutionary agenda.

While legacy media has often attempted to portray the riots as merely organic demonstrations of angered students, there have been indications from the start of far-left infiltration. A report from the intelligence arm of the Paris Police Prefecture accused the radical left La France Insoumise (France in Rebellion/LFI) party of presidential candidate Jean-Luc M�lenchon of having stoked and manipulated student groups into rioting.

This link between the far-left, the myriad of international causes, and the long-term impact of immigration has been cited by others, including Reconqu�te MEP Sarah Knafo, who remarked earlier this month: �What�s the connection between the supposed demands of the high school students and the Algerian, Moroccan, and Palestinian flags? What�s the connection with the �in the name of Allah� chants we hear in so many videos?

�The connection to immigration is the elephant in the room that journalists don�t want to see!�

Knafo has been a leading voice backing the �vandals pay� proposal currently moving through the French legislature, which would impose fines of up to �10,000 per participant in violent and destructive riots, including those who could not be proven to have caused any damage. Knafo has said that the �thugs� and their families should be on the hook, not the taxpayers, vowing: �We will deduct this money from every single paycheck they receive, from the benefits their parents receive.�

Others outside of France have also made a connection between the riots and immigration, including U.S. President Donald Trump, who said last week: �What�s happening in France is nothing less than out of control mass migration. This isn�t about schools, this is about Islam wanting to take over a once great Country!�

The radical Democratic plan to change the government for good
Donald Trump started his second term in office with a plan: Project 2025.
The document � a detailed policy blueprint put together by the right-wing Heritage Foundation � outlined not just a hardline policy agenda, but a novel theory of how to wield power to get it done. Its chapters showed how a conservative president could aggressively use executive authority to strengthen the parts of the government he liked, like immigration enforcement, and smash the parts he didn�t, like foreign aid and the civil service.

Project 2025 and Trump wanted to reduce the size of the federal government, reduce taxes for normal Americans and small businesses, to increase energy independence, get manufacturing in the US, get the Government off the backs of the citizens, reduce its power. What about the Democrats?

The most prominent Democratic response to Project 2025 � an effort from a leading think tank, officially called �Project 2029� � seems undersized. A grab-bag series of conventional policy proposals, addressing issues like kids� online safety and �the annoyance economy,� it does not even seek to grapple with the fundamental problem of a broken government.
But after months of reporting, I�ve learned that there is a quieter effort underway to build a true equivalent to Project 2025: a set of ideas for remaking the government just as sharply as Trump and Vought did � and perhaps more permanently.
The real Project 2029, as I�ve taken to calling it, isn�t yet a public document. But its broad agenda has become a point of consensus across the Democratic Party�s major factions. And importantly, its core ideas have real buy-in among both congressional Democrats and the top 2028 presidential hopefuls.

Weird that Democrats do not want to tell Americans what it is, but, Zack has a few notions. The �plan� yammers about turning an authoritarian government into a pro-democracy one, but, this seems to involve a lot increasing government (like we�ve seen in California)

A new, vastly simpler and politically protected set of rules for hiring and promotion in the civil service;
Creating entire agencies and Cabinet positions dedicated to battling corruption and inefficiency;
Overhauling federal privacy laws to facilitate legitimate information-sharing while constraining DOGE-style data theft;
Reviving a never-passed bill that would cap the president�s ability to declare emergencies at a 30-day duration;
Eliminating barriers that block policies at the front end, like the Paperwork Reduction Act, while creating new judicial remedies for federal abuses � like permitting citizens to personally sue government officials who violate their rights;
A rewrite of the 1946 law that governs the basic rules about how the executive implements policy;
Funding community-based organizations that can both assist in effective policy implementation and organize against federal overreach;
Rewriting the basic structures of US government by blowing up the filibuster; Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico statehood; and overhauling the Supreme Court � though these remain far more contentious than the others.

Basically, what they are pushing is a federal government that cannot be stopped, and is, at best, the plan of the DSA light. What they want is a government where Democrats control it, it�s almost impossible to get them out of office, that they can jam through any legislation they want, and the Supreme Court will back anything they do.

Continually increasing the importation of transportation fuels from foreign based refineries exposes California as a National Security Risk to America
California is the 4th largest economy in the world and an �ENERGY ISLAND that is separated from the other 48 continental States by the Rocky and Sierra Nevada Mountain ranges. There are no pipelines over these prestigious mountains to California. ALL of Californias� transportation fuel demands have been made by the California refineries to support the huge fuel demands of the State:

Diesel: Diesel fuel is the second largest transportation fuel used in California, consuming 10 million gallons/day for Diesel to support the State�s highway transportation and trucking of products from 3 of the busiest shipping ports in America.
Jet fuel: With all 145 airports, including 9 international airports and 30 military airports, the demand is 11 million gallons/day for Jet fuel. Several of those airports have direct pipelines to local refineries. In 2019, California consumed 16.7% of the national total of jet fuel, making it the largest consumer of jet fuel in America.
Gasoline: For its 36 million vehicles, California is the second-largest consumer of motor gasoline among the 50 states, consuming 37 million gallons/day for Gasoline, just behind Texas.
Bunker Fuel for the ships in three of the busiest Ports in America, located in California, consumes about 1 million barrels of bunker fuel annually.
- The Port of Los Angeles had more than 1,800 vessel arrivals in 2024, which includes cruise and merchant ships.
- The Port of Long Beach handled over 9.6 million container units in 2024, indicating a very high volume of ship activity, plus cruise ships.
- The Port of Oakland, which also handles significant cargo volumes, contributes to the total number of cruise and merchant ships needing fuel.

Thus, if in-state refineries cannot manufacture the transportation fuels in-state, they must come from somewhere. In ALL the United States ONLY California imports transportation fuels from foreign countries to fill the void of refinery closures, to meet the demands of the 4th largest economy in the world.
As stated by Chevron Ceo Andy Walz during an Ashley Zavala KCRA 3 Interview, March 6, 2026: �I am extremely worried! I do believe we should declare a state of emergency in the state of California�.
Countless millions of families in California, Nevada, and Arizona are suffering financially. 40% of California�s transportation fuels were being imported from countries like South Korea, China, India, and Singapore. With the onset of the war in Iran these Asian refineries lost their primary source of crude oil. They can�t make the products that their countries need. This forced these Asian countries to discontinue shipping our fuel to California.
The effects of this are clearly spelled out in a document dated on April 15, 2026, from USC Professor Mische and Professor Rector from Berkeley titled �California Gasoline Supply Outlook: A disaster in the making� In this document the professors write �These Asian refiners� (notably India and South Korea) curtailed most exports as of March 15 but the corresponding decline in arrivals to California has only just begun due to shipping times of 25 � 45 days across the Pacific Ocean. Over the next one to two weeks, gasoline imports are expected to drop off sharply, reflecting cargoes that were never loaded or diverted. This will mark the point at which the import shock becomes fully visible in terminal supply and, ultimately, at the gas pump.�
Currently there is another scenario unfolding that has the potential to bring serious consequences to the West Coast. To help understand this, we will once again quote CEO Andy Walz. He recently stated: �If you close a refinery, it doesn�t come back. Closing a refinery is not a reversable decision, so if we close, we do not come back�.
This was in response to a question that Ashley Zavala from KCRA 3 asked him about a recent letter that Chevron submitted to the state. Chevron, along with PBF and Marathon, all dispatched letters to Governor Newsom and the California Air Board stating that they were seriously looking at shutting down their refineries and leaving the State. This was in response to new Cap and Invest amendments that the state proposed. If adopted as is, it would have increased their fees by hundreds of millions of dollars while overseas refiners pay nothing. When asked specifically in the same interview about the possibility of Chevron shutting down, Mr. Walz replied: �If they add this burden of a tax on our refineries, I think it�s just a matter of time. It�s not whether or not they�ll close, it�s just when.�
The following are direct quotes from all three corporation letters:

Andy Walz (Chevron): �The proposed regulation will cripple the survivability of the state�s remaining refineries, which will result in California losing the entire industry to the misguided program.�
PBF Energy: �Unless CARB puts in-state refineries on an equal footing with importers� we will be forced to address the viability of our in-state operations, along with every other refiner in the state.�
Marathon: �CARB�s proposal would further widen the cost disparity, forcing refineries to reconsider whether refinery operations in California remain viable� net effect will be an increase in global greenhouse gas emissions [by relying on imports with lower environmental standards].�

CARB did make some changes to their new amendments based on the letters from the oil corporations.
However, On July 1, Communities for a Better Environment sued CARB for the changes that they made asking the court to invalidate the regulations and require CARB to complete a new review before adopting them again.
It is important to note that if these corporations shut down their refineries California will lose six of the remaining seven that are currently online. California would need to import from foreign based refineries:

11 million gallons of aviation fuel every day
36 million gallons a day of gasoline
10 million gallons a day of diesel
And about 1 million barrels of bunker fuel annually for merchant ships

The resulting loss of jet fuel would cause thousands of flight cancellations likely resulting in multiple airport closures. At this point Californbia�s 30 military bases would not have the jet fuel that they need to maintain operations.
The resulting loss of diesel fuel could lead to dire consequences. Cities only have 3 to 5 days of food supply on hand at any time. A substantial loss of diesel in California could easily result in a logistical collapse of the food supply chain. The port of Los Angeles will shut down. In a week to ten days cities will begin to run out of food. This supply chain collapse will cascade into Las Vegas, Reno, Phoenix, and into the nation�s Heartland.
It is time for our governor, democratic legislature, and air board to step back and look at the big picture. California, Nevada, and Arizona are in serious trouble. Cap and invest policies are crippling the state. It�s past time for Governor Newsom and state legislators to make courageous and correct decisions to get us out of the debacle that we are in. If they cannot, then the only choice will be for the President to invoke the Defense Production Act on behalf of the military and citizens of California.

The examples grow by the day. With every imported Muslim out of the Third World, Americans pay enormous consequences. What are those consequences? At this juncture in American politics, we see more and more Islamic followers rising into positions of power throughout the United States. Across more than 70 American companies, someone who looked like a diligent remote engineer could actually be a salaried instrument of the North Korean regime, with the paychecks traveling toward Pyongyang�s weapons programs. On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Justice announced charges against 14 people, two arrests and the seizure of about 187 devices. The real story is not the raid. It is the uncomfortable fact that American hiring habits, American addresses and American identities made the scheme possible, and that years of warnings failed to bolt the door.Key points:

The indictment alleges a scheme running from 2019 to about July 2025 that touched more than 70 companies and generated roughly $3 million.

U.S.-based facilitators are the linchpin, and the Justice Department says North Korean workers are recruiting more of them.
The charges are allegations, and every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The Justice Department said the coordinated actions unfolded in two theaters. In the Northern District of Ohio, prosecutors announced a four-count indictment alleging wire fraud, money laundering and identity theft. It names two U.S. nationals, Michael James Bostelle of Pennsylvania and Juan Cecilio Pena Carrillo of Texas, along with 10 China-based defendants, while two more defendants remain under seal. In Texas, the FBI searched more than 40 residences between Sept. 21 and Sept. 25 that were known or suspected to operate as laptop farms, under a banner called Operation Lonestar Roundup.
The indictment sketches a long game. From 2019 to about July 2025, North Korean information technology workers allegedly won remote jobs with stolen or fabricated identity documents, then hid behind virtual private networks and proxy infrastructure to look like Americans working on American soil. Victim employers sat in health care, communications, cyber support, retail and manufacturing across Ohio, 16 additional states and the District of Columbia. Prosecutors put the haul at roughly $3 million, believed to have flowed to sanctioned entities controlled by Pyongyang. For a government boxed in by sanctions, a remote paycheck is quieter than a missile test, and far harder to spot.
Inside the laptop farm, where American doorsteps become Pyongyang�s front line

A laptop farm is a simple piece of deception with a brutal payoff. A company ships a work laptop to what it believes is a new hire�s home. A U.S.-based facilitator receives the machine, keeps it powered on, installs remote-access software and lets the real worker log in from far away. The FBI�s public service announcement says facilitators have also set up financial accounts, created profiles on job search sites, helped fund tools such as artificial intelligence models and attended virtual interviews on behalf of the workers. Some facilitators take a share of the proceeds.
That detail should trouble every hiring manager in the country. The facilitators are not phantoms. They are people with mailboxes and driveways, living inside the same economy whose companies they allegedly helped to fleece. The FBI has described such helpers as both witting and unwitting, a distinction that matters in court but hardly matters to the employer whose network was just opened to a stranger. U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould of the Northern District of Texas declared, �we will not allow enemies of the United States to exploit our businesses.�
None of this arrived without warning. The FBI, Treasury and State departments issued a joint advisory in May 2022, which warned that individual workers can earn up to $300,000 a year and that collectively they generate hundreds of millions of dollars annually for entities such as North Korea�s Ministry of Defense. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence followed in July 2023, and Washington and Seoul issued joint guidance that October. The FBI has since published public service announcements in May 2024, January 2025, July 2025 and again with Tuesday�s announcement. The Justice Department�s DPRK RevGen: Domestic Enabler Initiative has already announced actions in June 2025, November 2025, April 2026 and May 2026. Four years of alarms, and still an alleged scheme that ran for roughly six.
A threat that keeps adapting

The adversary is evolving faster than the defenses. CrowdStrike, the cybersecurity firm that tracks this network under the name Famous Chollima, reported in 2025 that its threat hunters investigated more than 320 cases of North Korean operatives landing remote jobs in a single year, a 220% jump in activity. Adam Meyers, the firm�s head of counter adversary operations, said, �We see them almost every day now.� The firm also found operatives leaning on generative artificial intelligence at every stage, including while juggling three or four jobs at once.
Pressure produces adaptation. The Justice Department says North Korean workers are increasingly recruiting American facilitators to counter better private-sector detection and tougher enforcement, hiring them for a wider range of tasks and sometimes subcontracting whole jobs to third-party foreign nationals. The stakes also extend beyond salaries. The department warns that workers posing as legitimate employees have committed data extortion and exfiltrated proprietary and sensitive data from U.S. companies. A paycheck funneled to Pyongyang is the visible theft. The invisible one is a stolen trove of source code, customer files and internal secrets walking out the digital back door.

The claim is based on the latest live births name data published by the Office for National Statistics this week, which lists every non-unique surname in England and Wales annually going back to the 1990s.

Last year, 4,100 babies were born to Smith families, while 3,700 Khan family babies were born in England and Wales.

The report notes that in 1996, every surname in the top-ten most common for births was of British origin, yet today just three of the top ten are British.

The top ten most common surnames for new-borns in the latest statistics are in descending order; Smith, Khan, Ahmed, Ali, Jones, Hussain, Singh, Williams, Patel. and Kaur.

Historic protection charity English Heritage, which was spun out of the UK Government�s old Ministry of Works notes hereditary surnames are only a comparatively recent development in European history and became really widespread in Britain only in the 14th century. Surnames seem to have emerged in the decades and centuries following the Norman conquest as being able to identify individuals across the whole country and not just by forename alone was important for levying taxes.

Nigel Farage has claimed he will stop any refugees from being granted asylum for five years if he is elected.
The Reform leader announces he will suspend the asylum system for a full parliamentary term and declare void any applications in progress.
All asylum tribunals, legal refugee routes and resettlement schemes will be scrapped.

A Reform government would not hear the around 90,000 outstanding asylum and humanitarian protection appeals and instead deport the claimants.
The party highlighted Pakistan, Somalia, Eritrea, Syria, Afghanistan and Sudan as targets for visa bans because they each have large numbers of citizens in the UK.
The party would immediately close resettlement schemes that Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood recently said would reopen, with around a quarter of those admitted to the UK expected to be Palestinians and women and girls from Afghanistan.

Reform says there is �no mandate� for such schemes and that anyone who has arrived under them would be deported.

Any refugees granted asylum in the last five years would have their cases reviewed by the Home Office under the plans.
Mr Farage told The Telegraph: �The country is currently facing a national security emergency and the first duty of government is to protect its citizens.
�We cannot accept more asylum seekers while we still have no idea how many people are in the country illegally and the threat they pose.
�A Reform government will always put British people first and protect our borders.�
It comes after plans unveiled earlier this year to impose �visa freezes� on those wanting to visit the UK legally from countries including Pakistan, Afghanistan and Syria if they do not accept deportees.
These would halt any new visas for nationals of those countries � as well as Eritrea, Sudan and Somalia � which the party would target due to having significant levels of visas issued to the UK.

When it comes to other countries that would not be greatly affected by such a measure but have trade with the UK, the party is now saying it would go further with sanctions such as tariffs and airline bans to apply more pressure.
Labour called the plans �a clear sign of desperation and weakness�.
Party chairwoman Bridget Phillipson said: �Nigel Farage is casting around for more and more extreme policies as he tries to deal with scandals, police investigations and a growing challenge from Restore � this is a carbon copy of their policy.
�Running away from basic decency by entirely abandoning those escaping war and persecution might look to Reform like a way of winning a bidding war with other parties on the right, but the vast majority of British people will reject it as an assault on our common values.�
Shadow home secretary Chris Philp said the proposals �largely copy� the Conservatives.

�Banning asylum claims by illegal immigrants, abolishing the immigration tribunal and ending Labour�s resettlement routes are all existing Conservative policy.

Nearly half of France�s enormous Muslim population would consider leaving the country if Marine Le Pen wins the presidency next year, according to a new poll.

The IFOP survey, published by French weekly Marianne, found that 46 percent of Muslim respondents would contemplate emigrating following a Le Pen victory.

Approximately seven million Muslims are estimated to live in France, many of whom have come from former French colonies such as Algeria, Morocco and Cameroon.

The country is currently gripped by mass protests that are supposedly about the declining state of French education, although they are more about promoting Islamism and undermining traditional French culture.

Le Pen has long advocated dramatically reducing immigration and strengthening France�s secularism laws, including restrictions on the wearing of Islamic religious clothing.

France already has some of Europe�s strictest rules governing religious dress, although the poll found considerable public support for going further.

According to the survey, 53 percent opposed allowing the Islamic veil to be worn in public streets, while 75 percent supported the existing prohibition on abayas in state secondary schools.

Another 72 percent supported banning conspicuous religious symbols during sporting competitions.
Le Pen has previously proposed extending restrictions to the hijab in public spaces.

She has since indicated that such a measure would not simply be imposed upon taking office but would instead be submitted to the French people in a referendum.

As has been seen following Trump�s victories in 2016 and 2024, many leftists claim they will leave a country before eventually declining to do so.

Nevertheless, the findings illustrate the stakes of next year�s presidential election, in which Le Pen is leading the polls.

Recent surveys place her at around 35 percent in the first round, well ahead of the other candidates.

An October Harris Interactive poll also showed her comfortably ahead in hypothetical second-round contests, defeating former Prime Minister �douard Philippe by 56�44 percent and communist firebrand Jean-Luc M�lenchon by 67�33 percent.

Italian Americans have been called model immigrants because of their high levels of assimilation, earnings, homeownership, and educational attainment. Mexican Americans have followed a much slower path toward assimilation.Immigrant groups vary widely in their financial success and assimilation into American society. Financial success is easier to measure than assimilation. The Manhattan Institute�s assimilation index, developed by economist Jacob Vigdor, defines assimilation as the degree to which foreign-born adults can no longer be distinguished from the native-born population.

The index combines economic factors such as employment and education, cultural factors such as English proficiency and intermarriage, and civic factors such as citizenship and military service.

Other common measures include movement out of ethnic enclaves, fertility rates approaching native-born levels, and whether later generations still identify with their ancestry.

Two of the largest immigrant groups of their respective eras offer a useful comparison: Italians who arrived during the mass immigration wave of 1880�1920 and Mexicans who arrived in large numbers from the late 20th century onward. Researchers assess assimilation across generations by measuring how closely each group approaches the educational and economic levels of the native-born population.

The Immigration Act of 1924 sharply restricted arrivals from southern and eastern Europe but imposed no quotas on the Western Hemisphere. As Italian immigration declined, community averages increasingly reflected the second and third generations. Continued Mexican immigration adds first-generation arrivals to that community�s averages, but it does not explain gaps among U.S.-born descendants.

Italian Americans, numbering about 16 million, are sometimes considered model immigrants because of their educational and economic integration, English proficiency, patriotism, and adoption of American holidays and customs.

They perform better than national averages on the following economic and educational measures.

According to Census Bureau data for 2017�2021, 42.7% of Italian Americans ages 25 and older held a bachelor�s degree or higher, compared with 33.7% of all Americans. Their median household income was $90,487 in 2022, compared with $74,755 nationally.

In 2017�2021, the Italian American poverty rate was 7.7%, compared with 12.6% nationally. Among children, the rates were 7.9% and 17%, respectively. Homeownership stood at 70.3%, compared with 64.6% nationally, while 7.1% of Italian American households received food stamps, compared with 11.4% of all households.

Language assimilation is nearly complete. Only 3.5% of Italian Americans are foreign-born, 93.4% speak only English at home, and 1.5% speak English less than �very well,� compared with 8.2% of all Americans.

This integration was evident decades ago. UCLA sociologist Vilma Ortiz noted that by 1980, Italian Americans had reached the education and occupational levels of other third-generation Europeans.

Although Italian Americans have largely lost their ancestral language, they maintain their heritage through festivals, food, and family traditions. That heritage also has a prominent place in American public life. Italian American leaders lobbied for Columbus Day, which President Roosevelt proclaimed in 1937. New York�s Columbus Day parade, billed as the world�s largest celebration of Italian American heritage, draws nearly one million spectators.

Mexican Americans are the country�s largest Hispanic-origin group, numbering roughly 40 million in 2024. In 2021, 71% were born in the United States. Among Mexican immigrants, 62% had lived in the country for more than 20 years, but only 35% were U.S. citizens, according to Pew Research Center. English proficiency was widespread: 74% of Mexican Americans ages 5 and older spoke only English at home or spoke English at least �very well.�

Educational and economic gaps remain. In 2024, only 10% of Mexican immigrant adults held a bachelor�s degree, compared with 37% of U.S.-born adults. Mexican immigrant households had a median income of $68,700, compared with $81,400 for U.S.-born households. About 16% of Mexican immigrants lived in poverty, compared with 12% of the U.S.-born population.

Among U.S.-born Mexican Americans, only 21% held a bachelor�s degree in 2021, compared with 35% of all Americans. Their poverty rate, at 18%, was slightly higher than the 17% rate among Mexican immigrants.

A March 2026 Center for Immigration Studies analysis of Census Bureau data found that 67% of non-citizen Mexican households use at least one means-tested program or have incomes low enough to qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit. The comparable figure for U.S.-born households was 31%.

Long-term research tracks these outcomes across generations. UCLA sociologists Edward Telles and Vilma Ortiz followed Mexican American families in Los Angeles and San Antonio from 1965 to 2000.

Among the families studied, they found that economic progress halts at the second generation, poverty remains high in later generations, and educational attainment peaks in the second generation before declining in the third and fourth. Most fourth-generation Mexican Americans in the study still lived in Hispanic neighborhoods, married other Hispanics, and identified as Mexican.

Examining foreign-born adults, Vigdor�s Manhattan Institute index found very low rates of economic and civic assimilation among Mexican immigrants, linking their slow progress to the large share living in the country illegally.

The Examiner reported that the fiscal 2026 total is more than 95% lower than fiscal 2022 and the lowest annual figure in at least 59 years. The data is set to be released publicly in the coming weeks.

With illegal crossings at historic lows, CBP can put more focus on other threats, such as the New World screwworm.
CBP said in a September media release that it is helping eradicate the pest in coordination with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Left untreated, the pest can cause severe and even deadly harm to livestock, wildlife and pets and less commonly to people and birds.
The agency has facilitated 96 shipments of sterile pupae and viable flies from Panama through four ports of entry in Texas. Sterile flies help prevent the pest from reproducing.
As of Aug. 16, USDA had confirmed 47 cases, 46 in Texas and one in New Mexico.

A state that hasn�t delivered its electoral votes to a Republican presidential candidate since 1972 is bucking the prevailing national political winds and contemplating a change after years of progressive mismanagement.
Yes, Minnesota may have some regrets.
Much has been made of the impending Blue Wave that�s sure to deliver Democrats control of the House, could make Chuck Schumer the Senate�s new majority leader and will in all likelihood render Donald Trump impotent in the final two years of his presidency.

Democrats are not only counting their chickens in battleground states like Georgia, North Carolina and Michigan, but dreaming big in red strongholds like Iowa, Kansas, Texas and South Carolina.
But perhaps they should be looking in their own backyard: Republicans playing offense in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
�What we�re seeing is a kind of tug of war between what�s happening in Minnesota and what�s happening nationally,� said John Hinderaker, the founder of Power Line and president of the Center of the American Experiment, a prominent conservative think tank in the North Star State.
One recent survey conducted by his organization found that 58% of respondents believe Minnesota is on the wrong track; just 37% say it�s on the right one.
�Minnesotans are fundamentally unhappy with how things have been going in our state. There are several reasons for that, but clearly No. 1 is fraud,� Hinderaker told The Post.

Conventional wisdom might suggest Klobuchar is the heavy favorite against Republican Lisa Demuth, but Hinderaker isn�t so sure, even with Klobuchar�s supposed rejection of the far left.
Klobuchar garnered just 56% of the vote in 2024 when she was running against the cranky Royce White, or �essentially unopposed,� as Hinderaker put it.
�The idea that she�s this massively popular politician is, I think, overstated at best,� he argued.
Republicans are even better positioned in other races.

In the state�s race for US Senate, ex-sports journalist Michele Tafoya is giving Walz�s loony lieutenant governor, Peggy Flanagan, a run for her money.
A trio of polls released last month found that Tafoya is either tied or just one point behind Flanagan.
And although a Minnesota Star Tribune survey recently found that Flanagan boasts a four-point lead, 9% of respondents called themselves undecided.
Hinderaker believes that both Tafoya and Ron Schutz, the GOP�s attorney-general nominee who�s taking on incumbent Keith Ellison, will prevail.

�I�ve thought for a long time that Michele�s going to win it,� he said, contrasting the �far left-winger� Flanagan with the much more moderate Tafoya, who has also been a �strong performer� on the campaign trail.

Ellison is also far too intertwined with the fraud scandal for his own good.
�We released a 54-minute audiotape of Keith Ellison meeting with Feeding Our Future fraudsters and promising to help them help them fend off inquiries about fraud � and 10 days later, some of them donated to his campaign,� noted Hinderaker.

Fraud isn�t the only black mark on Democrats� nearly two-decade-long domination of state politics, either.
The economy is stagnant, the schools are declining and the streets are less safe.
That last bit is especially salient given the outbreaks of violence the Twin Cities have become famous for in the years since the George Floyd riots.
�There has been this outbreak of Somali gang violence in the suburbs,� said Hinderaker.
On Oct. 2, 18-year-old Adam Abdihakeem Adam allegedly opened fire and shot two teenagers at Eden Prairie High School�s homecoming football game.

He�s already been released after posting bond.
�This is a huge deal . . . and it came along at a very inopportune time for the Democrats,� said Hinderaker.
In 2024, the left thought it had found the answer to Trump�s domination of Middle America in Walz, the smiley �knucklehead� with a penchant for hyperbolic self-aggrandizement.
Just two years later, his failures in Minnesota are such an embarrassing spectacle that he may instead deliver the GOP an unlikely silver lining on election night.

Approximately 500 people in a Coastal Georgia immigration detention center are on a hunger strike, protesting conditions at the facility as well as what they say are violations of asylum protocols by U.S. authorities, according to family members and legal representatives.
Samantha Hamilton, senior litigation staff attorney at Asian Americans Advancing Justice Atlanta (AAAJ), said most of the people participating in the civil disobedience came to the United States seeking asylum from authoritarian and repressive national governments. The hunger strikers say they were following the legal process for their immigration claims, yet have been at the privately run Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Folkston for months or years awaiting judicial hearings.

The hunger strike is the latest controversy at the Charlton County facility, which is run by The GEO Group and, despite numerous complaints about unsafe conditions, is expanding to become the largest ICE detention center in the nation.
�There�s nothing illegal about seeking asylum. There�s nothing illegal about seeking sanctuary,� said Hamilton. �So this is just the natural next step in a long-time struggle of people being detained at this facility.�

Maybe not, but, there�s nothing in the law that says they cannot be detained until such time as said claims go through the system, at which time 10% or less are approved, and the rest get sent home.

�Some of us have been detained for months. Some people have been here for years. We are not serving criminal sentences. We are asking the United States for protection,� one of the detainees said in an audio recording obtained by The Current GA. �We are afraid that what inspectors see will not show how we normally live. We have serious concerns about the food, sleep conditions, medical care, and the length of our detention.�

Then tell ICE you want to leave the US. They�ll give you some money and a free flight out. It is that easy.

Which Immigrant Groups Measure Up to Native-Born Standards?

Surveys of the native-born public show what Americans expect of immigrants who settle among them. In a 2016 Pew Research Center survey, 92% of Americans said speaking English is important to being truly American, including 70% who said it is very important.

More than eight in ten said sharing American customs and traditions is important. By 2020, Pew found that the share calling English at least somewhat important had fallen to 77%, a decline driven by liberals and moderates. In Pew�s focus groups, Republican participants stressed learning English, adopting American values, and following the law.

An AP-NORC poll found that Democrats, Republicans, and independents agree that a fair judicial system, the rule of law, constitutional freedoms, and the ability to get a good job and achieve the American Dream are central to American identity. In a later AP-NORC poll, half of Americans said immigrants should adopt an essential American culture.

Public views of immigrants have long turned on work, welfare, and crime. In 1993, majorities believed Latin American immigrants often ended up on welfare and increased crime. By 2006, about eight in ten described Latino and Asian immigrants as hardworking and having strong family values.

Taken together, these surveys show that, to the native-born, a good immigrant learns English, works and supports his family, stays off welfare, obeys the law, and adopts American customs.

The data on welfare and incarceration support the pessimistic view of Latin American immigrants. A Center for Immigration Studies analysis of 2012 Census Bureau survey data found that 73% of households headed by immigrants from Central America and Mexico used at least one welfare program, compared with 30% of native households. The same analysis found that these immigrant households received an average of $8,251 in welfare benefits, 86% more than native households.

Federal data show that Hispanics are arrested and imprisoned at higher rates than non-Hispanic whites. The Bureau of Justice Statistics found that in 2023, Hispanic adults were imprisoned at a rate of 606 per 100,000, 2.6 times the rate of 231 for white adults. Asian adults were imprisoned at 88 per 100,000. Prison counts record ethnicity but not birthplace, so the Hispanic figure includes both immigrants and the U.S.-born.

In 2018, Hispanics made up 18.3% of the population but 21.4% of people arrested for serious violent crimes, while whites made up 60.4% of the population and 38.7% of those arrested. Per capita, Hispanics were arrested for rape, robbery, and aggravated assault at about 1.8 times the white rate.

Victim surveys, which capture crimes never reported to police, identified Hispanics as 15.5% of offenders in serious violent crimes, about 1.2 times the white rate per capita. BJS noted that victims could not determine whether an offender was Hispanic in up to 12% of incidents, which may have led to some undercounting of Hispanic offenders.

A National Bureau of Economic Research study by economists Ran Abramitzky, Leah Boustan, Elisa J�come, Santiago P�rez, and Juan David Torres used Census data on institutionalized men aged 18 to 40 to separate immigrants by country of origin. It found that since 2005, immigrants from Mexico and Central America have been incarcerated at higher rates than U.S.-born white men.

At the end of 2023, non-citizens made up 22,817 of 155,972 federal prisoners, or 14.6%, about twice their share of the U.S. population. Non-citizens number roughly 22.8 million, or about 7% of residents. The federal prison count includes immigration offenses.

English proficiency among Hmong, Cambodian, Laotian, and Vietnamese immigrants ranges from 36% to 45%. Among working-age Somali immigrants in Minnesota, 58.2% speak English less than �very well,� according to a Center for Immigration Studies analysis of 2014�2023 Census data. Even among those who have lived in the United States for more than 10 years, the share is 49%.

Southeast Asian refugee groups began with high welfare dependency. A 1990 General Accounting Office report found that 58% to 73% of recently arrived Southeast Asian refugees participated in public assistance programs. The 1980 Census showed that 65.5% of Hmong families and 67.2% of Laotian families lived in poverty.

By 2017�2021, Hmong poverty in Wisconsin, home to the country�s third-largest Hmong population, had fallen to 13% from 75% in 1989. Six percent of Hmong households received cash public assistance income, compared with 2% of all households in the state.

Minnesota, which has roughly 100,000 Hmong residents, counted 359 Hmong adults on its main family welfare program in early 2016, compared with 3,696 Somali adults. The program combines cash and food assistance. From 2019 to 2023, 9.1% of Hmong Minnesotans lived in poverty, 33.9% had incomes below twice the poverty line, and 78.8% of working-age adults were employed.

Nationally, poverty rates are 14% for Hmong, 13% for Cambodians, 11% for Vietnamese, and 10% for Laotians, close to the national rate of 11.1%. Homeownership rates are 56% for Hmong-headed households, 60% for Cambodian households, 64% for Laotian households, and 68% for Vietnamese households, compared with 62% for Asian households overall.

Burmese households have a median income of $67,600, compared with the national median of $80,610 in 2023. The Burmese poverty rate is 21%.

Among Somali immigrants in Minnesota, 21.6% of working-age men are without a job, compared with 17.6% of native-born men. Among adults, 37.5% live in poverty, compared with 6.9% of native-born adults. The Center for Immigration Studies analysis found that 81% of Somali immigrant households receive some form of welfare, compared with 21% of native households. Among Somali immigrant households, 54% receive food stamps and 73% have at least one member on Medicaid. Nationally, 12.2% of households received SNAP in 2023.

Census data on food stamp receipt by Asian subgroup exist, but no published source reports Medicaid enrollment for Hmong, Cambodian, or Laotian Americans.

A chart President Trump posted in January 2026 listed immigrant household welfare use at 81.4% for Bhutan, 71.9% for Somalia, and 59.2% for Burma. The chart did not identify its data source or which programs it counted.

On obeying the law, no federal dataset tracks crime by national origin or ancestry, and FBI statistics group all Asian Americans into a single category. Deportation data provide one indicator. About 14,788 Southeast Asians living in the United States have final orders of removal. According to ICE data compiled by the Southeast Asia Resource Action Center, 76% of those orders stem from contact with the criminal justice system. More than 4,800 Laotian nationals, including Hmong and Mien, have removal orders, as do about 1,700 Cambodians.

In Minnesota, the CIS study found that 1.5% of young Somali men are institutionalized, which usually means prison, compared with 1.3% of young native-born men. In the $250 million Feeding Our Future child-nutrition fraud case, federal prosecutors announced the 68th conviction in July 2026, out of about 80 defendants charged. The vast majority of the defendants are of Somali descent. Roughly a dozen Somalis from Minnesota left to join the Islamic State in Syria, mostly during the 2010s.

On adopting American civic life, naturalization rates are high across the groups. Among immigrants, 85% of Hmong, 79% of Laotians, 78% of Cambodians and Vietnamese, 68% of Bhutanese, and 59% of Burmese are naturalized citizens. In Minnesota, 87% of foreign-born Somalis are naturalized, and 58% of the state�s Somali population was born in the United States.

Education, which drives earnings in the next generation, converges unevenly. Among U.S.-born Vietnamese, 59% have a bachelor�s degree, above the national rate of 37.7% and the 43.4% rate for children of immigrants. The rate is 31% for U.S.-born Hmong and Cambodians and 24% for U.S.-born Laotians.

In today�s culture of anti-ICE protests and pro-illegal-alien activism, it is considered racist to collect data based on race or national origin or to present facts that might hurt someone�s feelings. In that spirit, rather than describing immigrants as good or bad, one can objectively identify those who meet the native-born standard and those who do not.

Measured against the native-born standard, only Vietnamese Americans fit the model on every available measure: second-generation English proficiency, income above the national median, poverty near the national rate, high homeownership and naturalization rates, and second-generation education above the national average.

By contrast, Somalis fail to meet the standard. A Center for Immigration Studies analysis of 2014�2023 Census data found that among Somali immigrants in Minnesota, 37.5% of adults live in poverty, 39% of working-age adults lack a high school diploma, and 58.2% speak English less than �very well,� compared with 6.9%, 5%, and 0.7% of native-born residents, respectively.

Among Somali immigrant households, 81% receive welfare, including 54% receiving food stamps and 73% with at least one member on Medicaid, compared with 21%, 7%, and 18% of native-born-headed households. Even after more than 10 years in the United States, adult poverty remains at 32.9% and limited English proficiency at 49%, although male joblessness overall is comparatively close to the native-born rate, at 21.6% versus 17.6%.

Former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Jonathan Fahey says federal investigators have �probable cause� that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) committed immigration crimes since a judge signed off on a warrant for Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents to raid her Washington, DC, home.

As Breitbart News reported, Department of Justice (DOJ) officials confirmed on Monday that Omar�s home had been raided as part of a federal probe. Fahey says that because the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is involved, the case focuses on the issue of immigration, but details remain unclear.

�The big picture here is a federal judge in Washington, DC, signed off on a search warrant. That means there�s probable cause that a federal crime was committed, and there would be evidence of that crime in the area to be searched, which in this case was Representative Omar�s home,� Fahey told the New York Post�s Chadwick Moore.

In particular, Fahey said it could not have been an easy task for federal investigators to secure a judicial warrant on Omar�s home, considering D.C. judges tend to be left leaning, telling the Post that �a judge must have been very convinced� by the evidence presented.

In response to the investigation and DHS raid on her home, Omar said she was being targeted by the Trump administration for her politics.

�I�m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement,� Omar said. �For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.�

This is not the first time federal investigators have looked into Omar.

Former President Joe Biden�s DOJ began an investigation into Omar�s finances after reports suggested she had amassed a multimillion-dollar net worth since being elected to Congress, the New York Times reported in January.

Federal prosecutors have brought charges against 16 people across the country for election-related crimes, including voting without U.S. citizenship, casting ballots on behalf of the dead, and voting twice in the same election, the Justice Department announced.
The nationwide cases focus on non-citizen voting in federal contests, false claims of American citizenship on registration forms, voting fraud, and the unlawful procurement of citizenship.

In New Mexico, a federal grand jury indicted 62-year-old Patrick Perea on one count of fraudulent voting. Prosecutors say Perea tried to turn in his deceased wife�s absentee ballot for the November 2024 general election at the Bernalillo County Clerk�s Bureau of Elections in Albuquerque.
In North Carolina and Alabama, another case centers on duplicate voting. Prosecutors charged Forrest Scott Woody, 68, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, with voting more than once in the 2024 general election. An indictment alleges that Woody cast a ballot in Henderson County, North Carolina, and then voted a second time in Calhoun County, Alabama.

Most of the remaining cases involve foreign nationals who allegedly cast ballots despite lacking U.S. citizenship.
In the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, four people face charges of voting by an alien during the 2024 election: Hacina Saadi, 48, a French national living in the country without legal status; Paulo Silva, 54, a Portuguese national and lawful permanent resident; and Jamil Ahmad, 50, and Nighat Jamil, 47, both Pakistani nationals and lawful permanent residents.

In Alabama, two lawful permanent residents were charged through criminal complaints. Silvia Delgado Phelps, 78, a Peruvian national, is accused of voting in multiple elections in Baldwin County. Staciann Pollion Davis, 42, a Jamaican national, allegedly cast a ballot in Clarke County during the November 2024 race.

In Missouri, federal prosecutors charged Cuban national and lawful permanent resident Andre�s Garcia, 64, with two counts of illegal voting in the November 2022 and November 2024 federal elections. Authorities state Garcia marked on voter forms in 2004 and 2013 that he was a citizen, ultimately voting in at least 15 elections over two decades, including 13 federal races.
In New Jersey, 24-year-old naturalized citizen Lizabeth Almonte Rosa, originally from the Dominican Republic, faces charges of voting as an alien and unlawfully procuring citizenship. Court records state Rosa was registered to vote before she had obtained citizenship.

In Ohio, three individuals face federal charges. British national and lawful permanent resident Cary Ann Patterson, 59, allegedly checked �Yes� next to the citizenship question on a Gallia County registration card in 2005 and voted in at least 10 elections, most recently in November 2024. In the Northern District of Ohio, Arshed Zuberi, 69, a Pakistani national, and Eliza M. Moss, 63, a Filipino national, were charged with voting in federal contests after signing forms declaring they were U.S. citizens under penalty of election falsification. Records show Zuberi voted in at least six elections, while Moss voted in several primaries and generals. Investigators noted Moss stated the person assisting her with the registration paperwork told her she could vote despite not holding citizenship.

Other charges span Idaho, Hawaii, and Kentucky. Canadian national Stanley Walton, 82, a lawful permanent resident, was charged in Idaho for allegedly voting in the 2022 general election. In Hawaii, Polish national Dawid Nalepa, 45, who overstayed a visa waiver in 2020 before seeking permanent residency, was charged with unlawfully casting a ballot in the 2024 race while knowing he was not a citizen. In Kentucky, Canadian national and permanent resident Sandra Madeline Watson, 59, was charged with voting in a federal election while knowing she lacked U.S. citizenship.
Criminal complaints, indictments, and informations are formal allegations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

GENEVA, Oct 12 (Reuters) - Deep funding shortfalls are forcing the UN refugee agency to make painful cuts across its humanitarian operations worldwide, and there are limits to how much restructuring can offset shrinking donor support, its chief said on Monday.

UNHCR has secured only $3 billion, or 35% of the $8.5 billion in funding it requires for 2026, High Commissioner Barham Salih told the agency's executive committee at a meeting in Geneva.
The shortfall follows aid cuts by countries including the United States under President Donald Trump at a time of record global displacement.
Funding for next year remains uncertain although the expected figure of around $2.68 billion could improve after a UNHCR donor pledging conference in December, Salih said.
UNHCR has launched one of its largest restructurings in the agency's history because of the budget squeeze, with Salih saying its workforce had been reduced since 2024 from 20,000 employees to just under 12,000.
"Protection has a floor. Below it, the system does not simply become smaller. The protection we can provide begins to fail," he said.
Salih cautioned that restructuring could not compensate indefinitely for lower funding, and that the funding crisis was already having tangible consequences for refugees and humanitarian partners.

"There is a difference between doing more with less and being asked to do the impossible," he said.
JOB CUTS
UNHCR is seeking to preserve frontline operations by cutting jobs at its Geneva headquarters and worldwide regional offices, with 88% of staff remaining outside headquarters, Salih said.
About 95% of the staff doing protection work, such as registering refugees and providing legal assistance, and helping refugees find longer-term solutions, such as returning home safely, have been retained in field locations, he said.
He cited several examples of programmes under threat.
In Chad, he said, insufficient funding risks disrupting specialised medical care and legal assistance for more than 50,000 survivors of conflict-related sexual violence who fled neighbouring Sudan.
In Ethiopia, refugee registration had been suspended for tens of thousands of refugees from South Sudan and Eritrea, he said.

Colombia has raised concerns on behalf of Latin American countries that their region is being disproportionately impacted.
The Americas, which include the US, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean, face a budget reduction of 32% in 2027 compared to this year, or about $485 million � the largest budget reduction of any region � while the number of forcibly displaced and stateless people in the Americas is projected to increase by 4% to about 24.5 million people in 2027, Salih said.

Ceuta made its presence felt at Spain's National Day parade without a single one of its soldiers setting foot on Madrid's Paseo del Prado.
No troops from the autonomous city took part this year, as the Spanish Ministry of Defence has kept its forces deployed there following the crisis that erupted in July, when tens of thousands of migrants crossed into the territory from Morocco.

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, who presided over the ceremony in Madrid, will travel to Ceuta on Tuesday.
The parade took place against a tense political backdrop, after Spanish Prime Minister Pedro S�nchez called an early general election for 29 November.
S�nchez arrived at the parade with parliament dissolved and was met with jeers from people gathered in the streets.
Under clear skies, 82 aircraft took part in an aerial display as part of the day's events, led by two F/A-18 jets.
On the ground, the army�s 8x8 Drag�n armoured vehicles took centre stage for the first time. Marine Corps vehicles equipped with the Aracne anti-drone system also made their debut, along with two Asturc�n drones from the Military Emergencies Unit - a clear sign of where the Spanish Defence Ministry is looking to invest.
A total of 3,850 men and 530 women took part in the parade.
The King and Queen then hosted a reception at the Royal Palace to mark the end of the National Day celebrations.
