    Short Answer

Has your campaign addressed the topic of illegal immigration in speeches, commercials, ads, or campaign materials? What are those messages? (Please provide sources or examples)

The Libertarian Party has specific issues on immigration that the Rick Hodgin candidacy supports. Those issue positions state that we should open our borders to all legal immigrants. If someone wants to come here, we should welcome them. The history of this great nation is overflowing with contributions from immigrants. We would not be where we are today without them, and at some point, nearly all of our ancestors were immigrants.

The Statue of Liberty reads "Give us your poor, your tired, your huddled masses...." An open invitation, and one our country has offered freely throughout its history.

The Rick Hodgin campaign believes that immigrants should have a welcomed place in our country and believes that when immigrants come here, they should desire to become part of our culture. That means doing it legally, then learning our ways, customs, laws, and our language. We should not provide special translators and materials in foreign languages simply because they have not yet had the opportunity to learn English. Those services should be provided through their families until they, themselves, learn English well enough to understand. Until that time, immigrants should consider themselves students of this nation.

This country affords many wonderful rights and privileges to all who come here. And before those rights and privileges are exercised, the rest of our society should be confident that our system has introduced them into our society as competent Americans, capable of, at the very least, basic English and communication skills.

What do you feel your opponent’s stance on illegal immigration or immigration reform is or would be?

I believe both my Republican and Democrat opponents will take their official party's stance on immigration. And that means continuing the trend we're seeing today of allowing illegal immigrants into our country, looking the other way while they partake in so much this nation has to offer, even going so far as to encourage the practice of illegal immigration to this country by giving them driver's licenses, allowing them social security and other related programs at both the state and federal levels, while they consume our resources and increase our, the legal residents and citizens', taxes. The concept of 'Undocumented Workers' is very big in Republican and Democratic circles, not in Libertarian Circles. We want everyone here who wants to be here, but we want them legally.

Have you been endorsed by or received contributions from any other immigration reform or illegal immigration reduction groups at this time?

The Rick Hodgin campaign has not been officially notified of any such endorsements.

Would you openly accept an endorsement and or contribution from ALIPAC?

Endorsements are yours to issue, not mine to accept or even seek. I would accept such an endorsement were it given. I would not accept any contribution. My campaign, and any tenure in office, would be comprised solely of representing the members of my district. I would cater to no special interests, no groups, no lobbying efforts and to no other type of entity which is not either a resident/voter, or an appointee by a group of residents/voters sent to Washington D.C. to make their case to their Representative. It is time integrity was brought back into Washington D.C.
