Sorry for the late notice, but we just got word that legislation encouraging state and local immigration enforcement will be heard by the Judiciary II Committee tomorrow morning at 10AM.

House Bill 1362 by Rep. Cary Allard clarifies the existing authority state and local law enforcement officers have to perform federal immigration enforcement functions and prevents "don't ask, don't tell" sanctuary policies designed to shelter illegal aliens from apprehension.


Action Needed by 9AM Thursday:
Please phone as many committee members listed below as possible before 9AM tomorrow and urge them to approve HB 1362. (See below for a sample message.) Leave a message if you get a recording.

Cary Allard clarifies the existing authority state and local law enforcement officers have to perform federal immigration enforcement functions and prevents "don't ask, don't tell" sanctuary policies designed to shelter illegal aliens from apprehension. When state and local law enforcement officers encounter illegal aliens during the course of their normal duties they should apprehend and detain them until they can be transferred to federal immigration enforcement authorities."

"As your constituent, I urge you to vote in favor of HB 1362, legislation by Rep.
