CA: Fence workers verbally assaulted, threatened

    Fence workers verbally assaulted, threatened

    October 14, 2008

According to a reliable source workers erecting the new border fence near Calexico, Calif. have been verbally assaulted and threatened by people on the Mexican side of the border. It has been reported that Mexican Federales have arrested some suspects. Workers have now been issued flack jackets and the Border Patrol providing security are sporting machine guns.

Is anyone surprised? I would have the BP videotape evrything and PUBLISH it for the whole world to see. The arrogance of these criminals is astounding!

I went to Algodones Mexico last February. Algodones is adjacent to Califonia about 8 miles from Yuma - lots of retirees go there and get their prescriptions - mostly pharmacys, jewelry, leather and liquor stores. On the way back through the check point, my sister and I had an interesting discussion with a border patrol agent that was on break.
It seemed that there were things going on almost daily from the Mexican side against our agents on the border. Not as much at Algodones, but at San Luis about 20 miles south. He told us that the agents were being "rocked" on a regular basis and that if we knew what he knew, we wouldn't go to Algodones shopping even though it appears to be a very save shopping town. I have not been back.

I wonder if the workers get hazerdous duty pay?
I also wonder what the BP would do if they were fired apon from Mexico, as I understand it they are not allowed to fire across the border so that makes their machine guns useless.
