CA: prohibit CA cities declaring themselves sanctuaries

Los Angeles, San Francisco, and a number of other localities have declared themselves "sanctuary cities," prohibiting their law enforcement officers from cooperating with federal immigration officials.

AB 2420, introduced by Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar), will stop local governments from establishing themselves as sanctuaries from immigration enforcement.

The bill prohibits cities and counties from adopting an ordinance or rule that prohibits "law enforcement officers from initiating action to discover a person's alien status or that prohibits a law enforcement officer from arresting or booking a person for entering the United States of America illegally."

Tell your Assembly Member that California must take the initiative in opposing illegal immigration. Barring sanctuary cities would be a good start.
