DHS officials LIED to Americans and Congress

DHS officials LIED to Americans and Congress when they tried to downplay an incident that resulted in the dismissal of hundreds of illegal immigration cases!

The Obama Administration created a backdoor amnesty program by allowing illegal immigrants to remain in the United States!

Newly released records, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, show a series of internal memos from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) saying that the chief counsel in Houston, TX ordered attorneys to review all new and incoming immigration cases and thousands that were already pending and to dismiss any that did not meet the agency's "top priorities."

This essentially allowed hundreds of illegal immigrants to remain in the U.S. Most of these illegal immigrants had been in the United States for years, and just because they didn't commit any serious crimes, they were allowed to stay.

Got that? You can come to this country illegally but as long as you stay hidden a couple years and don't commit any serious crimes you can stay.

Does this administration not understand the LAW?

Coming to this country illegally is a CRIME, and those who commit that crime should be DEPORTED! CLICK HERE to assist AmeriPAC in calling for the investigation of ICE to find out why this was allowed to happen.

Our country was founded by men and women who wanted to come here to better their lives. They wanted to work hard and make a living. They did not come to this country in order to leech off of government programs and cost law-abiding citizens their money. It's time for these illegal aliens to LEAVE!

The emails show that top attorneys at ICE headquarters in Washington, D.C. last summer approved these dismissals. They also show that ICE offices across the country were encouraged to only target dangerous criminals - and to let any other illegal alien stay without penalty.

The records show that the memo sent out calling for these dismissals was secretly rescinded - once the story broke, of course. That's right, after people found out that the Obama administration had created a backdoor amnesty program, they recalled their position in order to try and cover it up.

ICE officials then tried to claim that the dismissals only affected a very small portion of illegal immigrants; the ones with pending green card applications.

Unfortunately for ICE, the documents show that, without a doubt, the agents in Houston were allowed to dismiss any case they felt like, including cases involving immigrants with misdemeanors. Jessica Sandlin, Senator John Cornyn's press secretary told reports (emphasis added):

"It now appears that DHS attempted to mislead the public and Congress on its policy of directing dismissals of cases against criminal aliens. After this failed attempt at stonewalling and obstruction of the public's right to know, the truth is now coming out."

We want every member of Congress to stand with Senator Cornyn and his press secretary and force ICE leadership to testify before Congress about this massive cover-up.

Internal records show that the Houston ICE office was praised by supervisors at ICE headquarters in D.C.

Immigration court data shows that the number of illegal immigration cases dismissed nationally grew by 40% last year, with several courts across the country reporting major increases.

Of course, the left applauded these case dismissals as a "common-sense measure," but of course, that's hogwash. These illegal immigrants should have been deported, and the backdoor amnesty prompted protests from members of ICE, who accused the administration of straying from its core mission to enforce the nation's immigration laws.

Tre Repstock, president of the Houston ICE union, believes the agency might have put innocent, law-abiding Americans in danger by releasing some cases of illegal immigrants who have criminal records. Mr. Rebstock was just as concerned about the cover-up conspiracy.

"As law enforcement officers, we are held to a higher standard than the public because we have the public's trust," he said. "And then they go and stand up in front of the Senate and throw all of their credibility out of the window when they say, 'Oh no, we weren't doing this. This wasn't our policy.'

"They did it," Rebstock said. "And then they lied - or misrepresented the truth, at the very least - about what they were doing."

It doesn't matter whether these illegal immigrants were violent or not. The fact is they were breaking the law by being in this country illegally, and when their cases were brought before ICE, they should have been deported.

The fact that this agency allowed these people to stay in this country, knowing full well that they had broken the law to get here, is a backdoor amnesty scheme.

We can't allow this agency to get away with this. They must be investigated and brought to justice. By ignoring these illegal immigrants, they not only failed to do their duties as an immigration enforcement agency, they also failed to protect the lawful citizens of this country from criminals.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano tried to dismiss this whole case as a "miscommunication."

    But we're not buying it.

Barack Obama and his amnesty-loving cronies couldn't get the DREAM Act passed so now they've found away to create a BACKDOOR amnesty program. If they hadn't been caught, who KNOWS how many more illegal aliens would have their cases thrown out and been allowed to stay in America.

The safety of the American people - the legal American people - is at stake. Some of these illegal aliens had criminal records, do you want them living in your neighborhood? The fact is that just being in this country illegally should be enough to get someone thrown out, but thanks to Obama and ICE, that's no big deal.

If they had things their way, all of Mexico would be allowed to just walk across the border and get welfare.

    America can't afford that.

Americans don't want illegal aliens leeching off of lawful taxpayers and driving up the cost of services. ICE made a BIG mistake by dismissing these cases, and now they need to answer for their crimes.

Members of Congress need to hear from you today!

    Sincerely,

    Alan Gottlieb
