IRCOT Launches Radio Ad to Urge Tarrant Co. Senators to Support SB 358

NOTE: Scroll down media player, click "Audio" then - IRCOT - SB 358 to play the
radio ad referenced in the following entry:

    http://www.ircot.com/smp/media_player.htm

The Immigration Reform Coalition of Texas (IRCOT) will a launch radio ad on
5/14/09 in the Ft. Worth/Dallas metroplex to encourage Tarrant County Senators to
support SB 358 (introduced by Sen. Dan Patrick - Houston) to end "sanctuary city"
policies in Texas. Travis County Senator, Kirk Watson(D) is also being encouraged
    to support this important legislation.

SB 358 has the support of 19 Senators in the Texas Legislature (and the Texas Lt.
Governor) but lacks 1 vote for passage out of the Senate for movement to the House.
The Texas legislative session ends June 1 and there have been heated battles
    pertaining to immigration reform legislation.

Early in session, IRCOT learned that the newly elected Texas House Speaker, Joe
Straus - (R) San Antonio, made a deal with the Democrats for support during his bid
for the position. From VERY reliable sources within the Capitol, we learned that
Speaker Straus agreed not to allow any immigration reform legislation out of the
House this session. From the committee assignments, leadership appointments, bill
committee assignments, and the foot-dragging of key committee chairmen -- we are
99.9% certain that the rumors were TRUE!

Shame on Speaker Straus and the majority of the Texas legislature for not stepping
up to the plate to protect the the safety and prosperity of U. S. citizen families
residing in Texas. Even Governor Rick Perry expressed his concern about the growing
presence of violent transnational gangs and their infiltration into Texas schools,
communities, and prisons in September of 2008. Still, only a handful of Texas
legislators have had the best interest of "the people" in their hearts as they cast
their votes this session.......that will prove to be a BIG mistake on their part
    come November 2010.

IRCOT will work TIRELESSLY during the months leading up to the 2010 election to make
sure that Texans know exactly who betrayed them this session and who stood up for
them. Sadly, the latter list is very small -- and that needs to change!

Please help to spread the word and visit: www.savetexasnow.com to learn more (an
outreach project of IRCOT - www.ircot.com). The radio ad should be posted on the
IRCOT site by 5/14/09 at: http://www.ircot.com/smp/media_player.htm.

Senator Jane Nelson is my state senator. She is excellent! She co-sponsored the Photo I.D. bill in the Senate last session, and appears to be not only a strong opponent of illegal immigration, but one of the Texas lawmakers working pro-actively to try to end it. Each time I have emailed her on an issue, I have received a prompt, well-informed, and I believe personal reply. I have been very impressed with her representation.

Thanks ELE and others for your help!

I sent my e-mails. Texas2step, I'm a Jane Nelson fan myself. She is on our side. Granger is another one of my favorites. The people at her office are so nice and polite!
