USMC Sergeant Major "Iron Mike" Mervosh To Be The Grand Marshall of Secure America Now Event
Most Decorated Marine Alive Will Kick Off The July 4th 2009 Celebration
Boulevard, CA.- A distinguished veteran of the battle of Iwo Jima and Marine assault landings on Kwajalein, Saipan and Tinian will be the Grand Marshall for the second annual Secure America Now! event being held at Camp Vigilance on Independence Day. "Iron Mike" Mervosh held the highest enlisted rank in any military service for nineteen years and is the most decorated Marine alive. He was awarded the Bronze Star and a second Navy Commendation Medal for "heroic" actions while serving with 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, in Korea. After two tours in Vietnam with 1st Marine Division, he received a third Navy Commendation Medal and his third Purple Heart. The boots he wore in Korea are spit shined and complete the military hero's uniform to this day. Mike is expected to give a rousing speech on service to your country to launch the event.

Iron Mike joins other guests like former Congressman and Presidential candidate Tom Tancredo who is the events keynote speaker. Secure America Now is a private BBQ and celebration being held at Camp Vigilance in Boulevard, CA, home of the Border Patrol Auxiliary and the Minuteman Corps of California. A dozen secure border organizations sponsor the event which is in its second year and expected to draw 500 or more attendees. Country Rock artist Michael Britton will in concert for several sets during the day and Geno's West Coast BBQ will cater the event.
