Senate began voting on massive amnesty Tuesday -- Please take your actions

DEAR FRIENDS,

What a day!

You can get fast, reliable news on all the votes that are now underway inside the Senate regarding the giant amnesty that President Bush endorsed Monday night.

See all upcoming amendments and past votes by clicking in this one place.

On this Vote Day Page, we update at least once an hour. It is the one place where you can get all information you need and see requests for action.

As expected, the Senate began the debate Tuesday on the giant amnesty/immigration-increase bill by defeating some responsible amendments.

But the NumbersUSA Capitol Hill Team is cautiously optimistic after amendments to gut the bill gained more support than we expected.

One such amendment got 40 votes!

In the end, we will need just 41 votes to ensure keeping the other side from getting the super majority of 60 votes, thus causing a defeat of Hagel/Martinez "compromise" that has become the main legislative vehicle in the Senate.

Each Senator is critical. That means YOUR two Senators are doubly critical.

PLEASE TAKE ALL AVAILABLE ACTIONS POSTED ON YOUR ACTION BUFFET CORKBOARD

We had some trouble with our customized Action Alerts today. So, nearly all of you should find new faxes to send and new phone calls to make.

We are seeing some new Senators daring to stand with us at least on some amendments. That happens only because they have constituents who never let up on them.

THANKS FOR KEEPING UP THE PRESSURE,

-- ROY
