    Details: Recently several organizations, legislators and elected officials have criticized the actions of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio regarding his use of Section 287(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act which provides the authority for state and local law enforcement to investigate, detain and arrest illegal aliens on civil and criminal grounds. These criticizers suggest not only should Sheriff Arpaio be removed from office but that the 287(g) program be rescinded. Sheriff Arpaio has been enforcing the federal immigration laws under an agreement between his office and the Department of Homeland Security authorizing his deputies to enforce certain immigration laws after they receive the proper training by federal authorities. Sheriff Arpaio and his deputies have been making Maricopa County and Arizona safer through the success of his 287(g) enforcement actions.

    Unfortunately, these supporters of illegal aliens and the breaking of the law have decided, once again, to protest the “Rule of Lawâ€
