I received information about the following organization in the mail:

NEGATIVE POPULATION GROWTH

"Negative Population growth is a national non-profit, citizen-supported membership organization established in 1972. We are leading the movement for a sound population policy by educating millions of Americans and policy makers about the critical link between immigration, population growth and environmental quality."

"Our goal is a slow and gradual redution in our U.S. population so we can stablized our population at an optimum level - a level we can sustain in the long run."

"And, we're the ONLY group with specific, realistic solutions:

1. Completely HALT ALL ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION into the U.S. and enforce current laws to apprehend and deport the 12-20 million illegal aliens now living in our country. (This is especially important in light of the events of September 11, 2001 and the increased need for better national security.)

2. DRASTICALLY CUT uncontrolled legal immigration from its current 1,000,000 per year to no more than 200,000, including relatives, refugees and asylees.

3. Replace the federal income tax deduction for dependent children with a TAX CREDIT for parents who have, at most, two children.

4. Give an ANNUAL CASH GRANT to parents who pay little or no income tax and have only one or two dependent children.

That's it. A fair, common-sense program that reduces legal immigration by 80%...discourages illegal immigration...and provides non-coercive financial incentives to all Americans, regardless of income, to encourage smaller families."

Sounds good if all these things only apply to illegal immigrants. But the tax thing is not gonna fly if you're talking about applying it to legal American citizens.

Lots of people are arguing for cutting back on legal immigration, and given the current jobs picture I expect to hear more on this.

Give a person all the deduction a business gets.

Anyone think that we already are past the point to where controlling the population is too late? I think that with the current amount of people now were choking off our resources as it is! But the Illegals and Moochers need to go now!
