NEW CAPS ALERT-6/13/08 E-Verify
Take Action. Now!
Alert! Senate legislation would expand and improve the E-Verify program!
S 3093, by Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), would reauthorize, enlarge, and improve the E-Verify program that allows employers to ascertain the work eligibility of new employees.
The verification system, formerly the Basic Pilot program, was first authorized in 1996 and allowed only five states to participate. The program was reauthorized in 2001 and then expanded in 2003. The last expansion allowed employers in all 50 states the opportunity to use the program voluntarily.
Among many things this legislation would do, it would make the E-Verify Program permanent, and require employers to re-verify employees who are in the United States on temporary status.

Mark Krikorian of the CIS has said the legislation is a Trojan Horse because the Social Security database is buggier and therefor easier for the opposition to argue to delay implementing.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Lou Dobbs was questioning Senator Grassley about this not being required for businesses, and the Senator said that he did what he thought may have a chance at passage.
President Bush should have extended his Executive Order on E Verify to include businesses in general. Oh the outrage from the Chamber of Commerce on that.
Romans 5:8Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
